I am not certain why this hotels does not get 4+ reviews all the time. For the price it is extremely good value in Alexandria. The hotel does not have a sea view, but they do not say they do. It is in a great location, just 20 minutes walk to Corniche. Lots of restaurants and shops within 5 minute walk. Room was very clean and comfortable. Heater was a bonus beautiful hot shower, soap, shampoo, large clean towels. Our room had a view over the Greek cathedral. The room was super quiet. Breakfast was plentiful and good value for standard breakfast items., ( Omelette, fuul, yogurt, coffee, jam, cheese, breads, croissants, fruit. We had a sim card so no issues with wifi. We traveled in Egypt for 21 days And stayed in 9 places, plus a Nile cruise We stayed in cheaper and more expensive places and this hotel ranked high in comparison to the others, especially cleanliness, location and shower. About 30-50 pounds to Bus station with Uber. Plus the staff were always available and responded to all our questions. We travel 6 months a year so feel we have a good base to compare. Plus we are over 60 so have travel experience.

I loved the place and I was really suspecting the service and the rooms as I had a very bad experience with low budget places. But the budget wasn't very low giving the facts that we were Ina High season which is 1000 EGP/ night. I knew that they have apartment and theybare good from my friends review. My room was perfect In terms of size, I even had the room to do my yoga It's mainly a vintage style with neat and organized furniture and a very wide bathroom. All kind of things could be found, such as a Air-condition, heater, fridge TV etc. Highly recommended One more thing, the Rooms with a view are a view on the church with a balcony but has a less size than the one I had.

There was no electricity from 9 PM to 11 PM with the Hotel being totally dark. No arrangement of power-backup or emergency lights during this time. Candles provided on request with the staff asking us to be careful not to "burn their Hotel with candles". The Hotel also misguided us that this power-cut is all over Egypt from 9 PM to 11 PM whereas we found electricity in shops & streets elsewhere during this time. There is no elevator in the Hotel. We were provided Room on second floor and it was tough for us using the stairs. We had booked two Rooms for four of us. There was no air-conditioner in one of the the Rooms. Breakfast was good and we enjoyed having it.

Pros: One of the good hotels in Alexandria with a relatively good location in the city center. Staff is friendly and respectful. Prices is good for the quality and facilities. Cons: Room is very small and the decoration need to be renovated.There are no slippers in the bathroom. There is no curtains in the room. There is no carpet on the floor. The cost for breakfast higher than the normal. The Wi-Fi is not covering the room just only the reception area. The bathroom is a converted balcony with no walls only opaque glass.

Hotel is really amazing, clean, cosy, take you to different era wn you look from your room balcony especially those with Cathedral view. Staff are polit and helpful. Room space varies as per your need and place is pet friendly. Accessing to Hotel location my be difficult if your not familiar with the neighbourhood You may suffer to find a free parking for your car. Reaching any place in downtown is very easy it is just walking distance The experience is really good there I would repeat my visit again and again.

الغرفة جدا نظيفة. المشكله بالمكان غير جيد على الإطلاق وصعب أوبر وغيره يعرف يوصل. الفندق كاتب انه عنده مطعم ولكن قفله من زمان والمفترض يغير الوصف عند شركات حجوزات السفر على الإنترنت. الكهرباء تقطع كل يوم ساعه بالليل. اذا اخذت غرفة نوم مع غرفة جلوس فلازم تعرف ان الغرفة بعمارة تبعد عن الفندق المبنى الرئيسي ٣ عمائر تقريبا

Such a lovely ,clean ,basic but efficient hotel/ guest house. I was travellling from Ireland to see friends in Alex & needed a cheap but clean room for 1 night. I felt safe, location was great,little cafe/breakfast room and reading lounge area was soo cute and welcoming. Staff were excellent- very helpful and professional. Definitely recommend and so affordable!

Really good experience. Very glad we stayed. We had a 2 bedroom apartment suite with en suite shower room and kitchen facilities. The apartment had very good internet WiFi and views across Alexandria. We had a text message everyday from reception asking if we wanted the room cleaned, which we chose to do every other day. We stayed 4 nights. We will definitely book Alexander the Great Hotel again if we visit Alexandria in the future.

I wish we’d found this hotel earlier. We booked an apartment which the hotel offers in another building 3 mins walk from the main hotel building. The apartment was in immaculate condition. Very clean beds, clean glistening bathroom, excellent air conditioning, free water bottle and tea provided. Beautiful views across Alexandria, and even the windows came fitted with a mosquito guard. Cannot fault this place at all. So conveniently located within downtown Alexandria so you have food within a stone’s throw!

Very good cozy hotel. Totally Exceptioy! I booked a single room, but they gave me a double room without extra charge. Very friendly and supportive stuff. Specially receptionist sheerin. She helped me every time when I need anything. Sheerin arranged a taxi for cairo very reasonable and cheap price. Near to the beach and lots of restaurants. Neat and Clean room and hygienic bathroom. Fully Recommended.

I was really amused, I thought it’s gonna be simple cause of the price, but it’s turned out to be one of the best places, clean apartment that has everything literally, comfortable beds new sheets, strong internet with a nice view 10/10 experience, definitely coming back soon

Disaster! It was not a room, it was like a kitchen which transformed to a rum. Room door was from Aluminium, windows to hall taped. Partition( no wall) placed between bed and toilet. No ventilation. No electricity between 21 to 23 clock. Smells bad bad bad. Stay a waaaaaay!!!

It’s rare to encounter such hotel that is technically placed within a historical place which is the Greek Cathedral that is aged +220 years Your view will mostly be the cathedral internal street and the hotel restaurant is almost within it. Room was good but not so clean (in my case dust wasn’t wiped off)
