Liaquat Memorial Library The Liaquat Memorial Library is a Government of Sindh funded public library located at Stadium Road in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. The National Library of Pakistan was established in 1950 as a branch directorate. In the year 1954, the Liaquat Memorial Library was declared a legal depository under the Copyright Law. This Library continued to function of the National Library until 1986. Over a short span of few years the library has acquired numerous collections through purchases, copyright deposits, gifts, exchanges, and donations. The library has total holdings of 144,000 volumes (73,000 English and European Languages, 40,000 Oriental Languages). Liaquat Memorial Library has been serving the nation for over fifty years and its collection of more than 150,000 can now be searched online. The library has the biggest collection among the public libraries of the country. Liaquat Memorial Library holds thousands of volumes of books and other reading materials. Library is intended to be a reference library for all purposes, a working place for scholars, Postgraduate students of social sciences and humanities and repository of national published literature for future historians.

This is the antithesis of a library. You cannot borrow any books moreover you cannot even SEE them. The books are locked away in some secret, inner sanctum accessible only to library employees. There are poorly, non-alphabetically arranged catalogue cards which you have to go through in order to get a book on your bloody CNIC which you can only read on the premises until the end of that day. A public-funded government library does not allow people to access books. The madness doesn’t stop here. They have halls for studying—which are segregated. Men have a large, spacious hall for reading and studying and women are relegated to a small room at the end of the hall. Please go here only if you need a quiet place to read/study where you will not have to buy Rs 500 cups of coffee every two hours. No price of admission or membership and a complete failure as a public place and a library.

A good environment for study.A golden opportunity for students to study. There are numerous corners for competitive exams. For instance, CSS, PCS or any other. However, my experience was so good and I feel that every individual must take benefit from these kinds of public libraries and respect their rules and regulations. Very good facility for individual learning. Students also do group discussions in garden and lounges of the library. Recently added E-library has internet facilities where browsing can be done. Many local newspapers available in general section. A small tuck shop inside the library and a tea hotel inside the boundary of library also available for refreshments.

Liaquat Memorial Library, once serving as the national library of Pakistan after independence, is now under the control of the Culture, Tourism, Antiquities and Archive Department, Government of Sindh. This esteemed institution remains a beacon of knowledge, housing various sections including the Reading Hall, Newspaper and Periodical Section, Female Section, CSS Section, E-library, Scholar Corner, Children Section, and even the renowned Lincoln Corner. Committed to providing a conducive learning environment, the library ensures free Wi-Fi access and all sections are air-conditioned, welcoming visitors to indulge in a realm of intellectual exploration and cultural enrichment.

Liaquat Memorial Library Karachi is a serene haven for knowledge seekers nestled in the heart of the bustling city. It is located at the Stadium Road in Karachi, Pakistan. It was established in 1954. Boasting a rich collection of books, periodicals, and digital resources, it. The library's courteous staff and modern facilities further enhance the overall environment, making it a cherished destination for students, scholars, and avid readers alike. Appreciate all The staff members, they are nice in behavior, they have well managed, and well furnished the library. Special thanks to new Director, who refurbished the library during COVID period.

  • Syed Muddassir Raza

I recently had the opportunity to utilize the Startup Lab at Lincoln Corner and was thoroughly impressed with the facilities and resources available. As an early stage startup, it can be difficult to find the support and resources necessary to grow and thrive, but the Startup Lab at Lincoln Corner provides just that. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and the space itself was modern, comfortable, and conducive to productive work. I highly recommend the Startup Lab at Lincoln Corner to any entrepreneur looking for a supportive and innovative environment to launch their business.

Is a decent and quiet place to study, can issue books too, but can not take them outside. Has a Lincoln corner, the place is executive, with a/c, computers with net, latest international magazines like HBR, the Economist and many others. Then there is separate Css corner and then there is a main hall. There is separate room for females, there is no co-ed environment. There is also a separate masjid and park outside where students can study. The timings are around 9am-9pm Washrooms are in a bad condition..

This is one of the Best library in town, offers peaceful and nice environment to readers with almost every sort of facility. The unique & BIG collection of books make it a treasure house for anyone looking to quench his thirst of knowledge. The recent addition of Lincoln Corner is a plus point which offers variety of english reading material along with internet facility at an amazing environment. Kudos to the Management. More such libraries needed in the city.

  • Latif Soomro

I was not expecting such an elegant ambience in public library. It is located at main road on opposite side of Liaqat National Hospital. It has a main hall, a separate section for CSS Aspirants and for girls as well. It also has a periodic section. Most importantly, it is free of cost. No membership or any documentation is needed. It operates on first come first serve basis. I personally like and endorse that library. Highly recommended.

A good environment for study.A golden opportunity for students to study. There is also an opportunity to use computers for study purposes those who can not afford them can use them here. There are numerous corners for competitive exams. For instance, CSS, PCS or any other. However, my experience was so good and I feel that every individual must take benefit from these kinds of public libraries and respect their rules and regulations.

  • A R M A N

I only enjoyed a lot an environment of #Iqra_Library_Cant, Heard about Liaquat Memorial Library that it's providing best environment, but as per my knowledge it's timing is 9-6, as per my opinion it should be 9 to 9, secondly it should not be closed on Saturday and Sunday because many of people have more time in weekend so it should be open on weekends, it should be closed on Monday. Same as Iqra Library.

  • Junaid Ghani Durrani

This is one of the very few national libraries with open access to public. Include masjid, newspaper area, discussion place, canteen and washroom. Everything one needs for a good study plan. Entrance is beautiful and surrounded by greenery. A very conducive environment for students especially for studies of higher exams. There's a separate corner for charging laptops and even using it during study hours.

  • Faisal Bari

It is an excellent place for readers and students to quench their thirst of study. It is situated at middle of city. I am used to go here in 1998.
