The University of Balochistan, Quetta, has been an instrumental part of my journey towards achieving an undergraduate degree in International Relations. Over the past four years, this institution has provided me with an enriching and transformative learning experience. The academic curriculum was comprehensive and well-designed, offering in-depth insights into various aspects of International Relations. The dedicated faculty played a crucial role in nurturing my intellectual growth, always encouraging critical thinking and fostering a passion for global affairs. Beyond the classroom, the university offered a vibrant campus life, providing ample opportunities for personal development and extracurricular activities. Engaging in student clubs, events, and conferences broadened my horizons and allowed me to connect with like-minded individuals from diverse backgrounds. Throughout my time at the University of Balochistan, I not only gained academic knowledge but also developed essential skills such as effective communication, research proficiency, and analytical thinking. These skills have been invaluable in preparing me for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. While the university has certainly shaped my academic and personal growth, it is essential to acknowledge the support and encouragement I received from my peers and mentors. Their unwavering belief in my potential motivated me to strive for excellence and reach new heights in my academic pursuits. As I reflect on my journey from a freshman to the day of graduation, I am immensely grateful for the experiences, knowledge, and relationships I have gained at the University of Balochistan. It has truly been a transformative period, and I feel well-prepared to embark on the next chapter of my life with confidence and enthusiasm.

I joined University of Balochistan in 2009 and remained there for two years to complete my master degree in political science. These two years were wonderful years of my life and I had wonderful experience of learning a lot from teachers like Dr. Nadir Bakht, Syed Amir Shah, Asadullah Baloch, Qadir Bareech and others. They all were good to me. But,still I think the University needs a lot to improve in many fields. The administration is entirely carried on the manual system which allows much room for corruption, red-tapism and tension for the students. All the systems need to be digitialised right from the form submission for examinations to the issuance of results, DMCs and degrees. The website of University is outdated and needs to be renovated. The cental library is not maintained well and is under the occupation of some ignorant people, having little know-how of the value of library. The faculties are also infested with political recruitments who are draining University's budget for no return. Discipline, research and other University-like traits are not known to the varsity. It simply resembles a school not a University. I often used the term, 'an entertainment park' for university where couples come for dating but thirsty souls for knowledge learn too little. The interference of the political parties, security agencies and all others have marred the charm of the university. It needs reforms on large scale in all the fields. Currently it is not performing up to the mark and is held hostage by various self-serving and corrupt lobbies.

Libraries are the assets of every educational institutions , provided that , they are fully functional . Library of the UoB is not functional with respect to their staff's competency . Today it was announced unofficially to close the library at 3:20 PM despite its officail timming from 9 Am to 4 Pm . Besides , it was unofiically announced by the respective authorities that it shall be closed tomorrow at 2 PM . And from day after tomorrow dated 13/6/18 it will be closed till further order . However the Govrnment has announced the eid holidays from 14 /6 /18 to 18 /6/18 . Very sorry to say , owing to absence of any monitary cell , the lethargic staff is left unchecked . This state of affair has indirectly affected the educational career of stundents in general and their examination output in particular . I request the honourable VC to take serious action against such staff , so that library may be fully operated - providing stundents the academic atmosphere in the University . Apart from incompetence of library faculty . The official routinue of library is also inapposite . For making the library more convenient , the respective authorities should open the library on Saturday and Sunday . So that stundent may spend most of their time in productive tasks and unhindered learning .

The oldest University of Balochistan, which was formed in 1970. It is first Gernal University of Balochistan which provides courses in various fields of Science,Arts, Humanities, management sciences, linguistics, Balochistan studies etc. The teaching level is not up to the mark. This University remained a notorious hub for various student fights and non educational events in 80's and 90's. The selection of teachers is often influenced by political parties. Merit is always ignored here.

Through HEC, we conducted a 3 day workshop on 'How to write a Research Proposal' to our recently selected scholars of the AHBP program @ the University of Balochistan, Quetta b/w 27 - 29 Nov. 2017. What a wonderful place with very hospitable people. Due to the current security issues, generally people from other provinces and cities are afraid to go here. Surprisingly, this is the only university in Pakistan where a train passes through the university premises :)
