Looking to take some time away from the market? Well, Chatuchak Park may be the peaceful location you are looking for to get avoid the hustle and bustle of the weekend market. Opening in 1980, Chatuchak Park is one of the oldest public parks in Bangkok. The land was given to H.M King Bhumibol Adulyadej from the State Railway of Thailand who decided to build a park for the local residents. This park was also designed to enhance the urban area in Chatuchak as well as give people a park to enjoy in peace. The park is open daily from 4:30 am – 9:30 pm Entry into the park is free

Good luck finding taxi meter. It took me half hour before anyone would take me on Sunday night around 730pm. Beware of the taxi's with no meter. They want to charge way too much to go to Donmueng airport about 20 minutes. Do not pay 300b. Should only cost around 120b, w/o traffic jams, plus you pay toll on freeway, which is about 60b. BTS & Mo Chit station are fine. They have money exchange Superrich, which is the best exchange, better than banks. Station have small shops selling water to socks. There are public buses that run to airport but I do not know which numbers.

Busy connection point for BTS. One can reach every vehicle from this point via BTS to MRT or BRT. Most the time its crowded with tourists and tourist traps because of chatuchak weekend market. But it is not so crowded in weekdays. Be careful about the polite guys who is trying to take you some other shopping malls or long tail boat journeys. Just say no and do not even listen any word of them. Chatuchak weekend market shopping center is located nearby. Convenient location for eat and drink also. This market might be the biggest one in east Asia.

Chatuchak park is a nice place to relax. Vendors are available everywhere for snacks, drinks and mat to enjoy the ambiance. It is also a good place to stop-by after shopping at Chatuchak Market. However, since there are many people, there are also garbage outside the park and rats passing by. How to go there: Ride a BTS (skytrain) going to Mo Chit Station then you'll easily find the entrance to the park. Eitherway, you may opt to ride an MRT (subway) heading towards Chatuchak Park Station.

Bts jatujak is the closest bts station for this park. It is right at the bts stair. This park is grell and well take care. In the evening a lot of people come sit and relax on the green grass or under the big shade of trees. Many nationality tourists and local people can be found in this park. The park is close to JJ Sunday market and JJ Green night market.

Busy station, interchange to MRT Jatakuk. Expected to wait in long line for coin exchange and buy ticket. Many shops and services available in the station. Be aware of motorcycle taxi and taxi who might overcharged no matter you're local or foreigner. You can go to Donmuang airport by A1 bus at the bus stop below this BTS station.

A lot of buses are stopping by here at Mochit/Chattuchak park station. I suggest that you search for the bus routes of these bus nos. and try to see if your place of destination is part of their routes. You can save a lot when you take the bus. I think the fare ranges from 8Baht-20Baht (based on exprerience).

This is a good place for getting to nice park. But of course BTS is a bad experience, not able to pay with card, not able to buy ticket at machine with anything but coins, like everyone has 40 baht of coins in their pocket. Not able to use credit card at gate. Very unfriendly. Just easier to ride MRT.

Crowded and busy station - was here on weekend for the market and there were heaps of people. Should have more counters to buy tickets as both ticket counters and machines were long lines. Luckily the trains are frequent and as it is the first stop, there is a good chance of getting a seat.

It's a fabulous park that is huge and full of small lakes, bridges, flower gardens, butterfly park, cycling track, swings for kids, Jogging track etc. It's huge, has many entrances, at a walking distance from the chatuchak metro station and the chatuchak market. It's a lovely picnic spot.

It's a busy train station, particularly because there is a shuttle bus from Don Meung here, and lots of other public buses. It is also near Chatuchak Weekend Market, so you can expect a lot of cars and taxis trying to get your attention. Be careful as there are so many people here!
