We stayed here because we had a 12 hour layover so we were comped this room. It was less than 10 minutes from the airport which is the only plus. The rooms were disgusting. I'm not using this word lightly. We didn't put our luggage on the floor. The carpet looked like it had net been cleaned or vacuumed in months. We were given only one towel and no washcloths. No toiletries were included. You get dinner and breakfast but only one drink your entire stay. So remember that your 1 bottle of water is for brushing your teeth and drinking for two meals. Breakfast was a mystery. I stuck to boiled eggs but most were over done and the told was green and watery. I tried to buy something coffee and a small container from their display case which is all they have for a gift shop. My container didn't have a price on it. It was marginally bigger than my friends. Her's was $6 mine was going to be $19. Then their internet went out so I couldn't use my credit card. I didn't have their currency so I decided not to buy. This is probably the worst hotel I ever stayed at. The only reason we were there is because of our layover. Some staff were nice. The lamb and coffee were amazing but I really can't say the food was a plus because if the hotel is that dirty I can't imagine what the kitchen looks like. I think the only way this place stays open is from layover clients. I can't imagine staying here and paying for it. Other than those who were bussed in with us from the airport I saw no other clients. They need I clean this place up. Their pictures aren't accurate. The chairs were so dirty. Just lazy cleaning and maintenance.

I was taken to this hotel, which was not a part of the airport due to two long layovers. The ride to/from the hotel was about 20 minutes. The hotel was much a much better choice than sitting in the airport for long layovers.

Rooms were clean and sufficient for my needs. I was at the hotel because of two long layovers in Addis Ababa, which were paid for by Ethiopian Airlines. So, I was not looking for a top rated hotel, rather a place to relax/sleep while waiting for my next flights.

I was taken to this hotel twice during my trip to Madagascar. The layovers I had were 12 hours and 15 hours. The hotel provides breakfast and supper, buffet style for the layover guests.

Normally you would expect to be conned using a taxi service the first time in any city but to be conned by the hotel staff is a first for me as seasoned traveller. Arrived on 31st July 2022 at 4pm. Asked Female staff at reception for taxi for dinner at Hilton Hotel at 7 pm. She pretended to make calls but said telephone line not working. She offered alternative so called hotel staff taxi, which I later found cost twice as much as the Addis version of Uber, which Hilton reception staff called for me to return to the hotel. The room as no shampoo or conditioners or tooth paste. The hotel does not stock it in its shop so arriving on Sunday meant no shops open. With my main luggage in transit frustrating. Ditto: Internet is very poor in rooms.

The hotel needs better hygiene. There were cockroaches all over the bathroom. I could not use the hair dryer because as soon as I turned it on, roaches started flying out of it. The Internet does not connect inside room 701-01. I had to stand in the hallway to access WiFi and the connection disappeared as soon as you step into the room. The breakfast and dinner can be better. The airport shuttle was disorganized, had to be a standing passenger in the shuttle in order to get to the airport on time or risk getting there late or worse miss my flight. 3/10 rating

Let's start with the positive aspects. The location of the hotel was convenient and easily accessible, making it convenient for travelers. The staff members were generally friendly and polite, making the check-in process smooth and hassle-free. However, my enthusiasm waned when it came to the food quality. The hotel's restaurant offerings were disappointing at best. The breakfast buffet lacked variety, and the taste was mediocre. The food seemed to be of average quality, and it left a lot to be desired. The cleanliness of the rooms was another major issue. While the room appeared tidy at first glance, upon closer inspection, I noticed several areas that were not properly cleaned.

We were on transit and a delayed flight made us to miss our connecting flights ght back from our holiday. Food choice is limited and it's more of TRADITION, not Evryone staying at the hotel is from Ethiopian. No eggs or sausages, terrible breakfast. They give u cold hot water for tea, when u ask for tea with milk they make u a foamy heated milk half a cup. Why not give hot water in teapot and milk jar on side??? Terrible way of making tea. Staff not willing to assist and were very unapproachable. Room we were booked in with Ethiopian airways were very cheap and not of standard and we felt poorly looked after upoun after their own cause of delay.

So far both experiences of the hotels i used in Ethiopia were bad for me. The reception is abit grand and well set but the customer service at the front desk is bad. The rooms don't come with universal charging ports and fir a hotel that caters to majorly travelers from all over the world,you provide extension boxes or adaptors to make charging phones,tablets etc easier but we were asked to pay $1 to use the adapters. There was no wifi either and they said it was the whole country that was shutdown down because the national university entrance examination was going on. Really horrible experience. The bathroom shower was bad but just had to manage it for the night. The food as usual wasn't appealing or tasty.

The tables in the dining are very dirty, the table cloth not washed (photo attached) the supervisor was not helpful at all and the dinner was terrible. The hotel is not up to standard. Even the walls in the rooms are dirty, I even spotted a cockroach. Honestly I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, its a waste of money. Please Ethiopian Airlines when passengers have a layover don't put them in such kind of hotels, its not the right thing to do! I have also noticed that people have given similar reviews beginning of this year and we are now in December but there is no change which shows that the management of this hotel do not take customer's reviews seriously its sad

Debre Damo is a hotel located at the capital city of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa that offer accommodation services. It's strategic location make it's possible for your to enjoy the town view . It's has a good hygiene, airy and we'll equipped rooms, to make your stay an enjoyable one. Competent staff that are readily available should incase you need a service. Not forgetting their meals. One great combination l took yesterday, rice, vegetable and meat source, it was so great. I must recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this town that, Debra will give you the satisfaction you seek for.

The rooms are ok ... But in a review you need to know the downsides rather than the good ones. The WiFi is not stable at all, the food is not recommended, the windows are simply open. Noise and cold air are your partners In the room. The bathroom is badly fixed due to issues with the plumbers experience. However, the furniture is great with wall to wall carpet. The room is clean staff is reasonably helpful. Recommendations: 1. Get your own internet 2. Get your own share of dinking water 3. Get a room facing the back side not the main street.

I stayed at this hotel as a transit passenger on Ethiopian Airlines. The hotel has average rooms with with clean linen and towels. The rooms are quite spacious and ok. The bathrooms have bathtubs in them with overhead showers and no solid partitions hence likely to create a mess when showering. The toilet was leaking in the room and the water from the showers was lukewarm, never hot. The food and attitude from the reception staff was terrible. Unfortunately, I sensed that skin colour had everything to do with this. Nevertheless, the wifi was ok. My final verdict is that this place is bearable for a night.

Two because the massage service was excellent. Otherwise front desk persons were rude, food was hard to combine or make sense of. Water is sold and no one tells you until you need it. The airport chauffeur is rude and screams in the dining area to alert would be travelers. The bathrooms lack towels, toilet paper, wash clothes and floor mats or towels. Don’t know when last carpet was cleaned or even changed. It was hard to sleep as the hotel is surrounded by city hype.. worse off customer service people act like they cannot speak English. At least issue them name tags…

Our flight was delayed and the airline sent us to wait in the Debre Damo hotel. The hotel had last minute knowledge. When we came here, the staff was very respectful, accomodating, protective, and curtious. My wife and I were angry at the situation at first, but the accommodating staff of the Debre Damo hotel put us in a very good mood again. Even when we wanted to go out of the hotel to buy a few things, they were very protective and gave instructions for the who, what, where, and when. So just want to say, A Big thank you from my wife and I.

Really It's too poor. Airport was give to us on hold 15 hrs this room but I really very bad feeling .Only room is clean. Their is no wifi network working proper and also no any choice in vegetarian food,, nobany compromise with the staff...no tap also working in the Bathroom and also no property working flush in the toliet,,they don't have any shower gel and also don't have also Tooth kit and shaving kit ! The only good thing about this place is that some of the staff are very friendly and helpful, but the food and cleanness should be improved a lot. Hand sanitizer is available at reception only, although dispenser are on every floor but all empty. Rooms are very noisy either from the street or neighbor room. Internet has good connection only in some areas. Electric was off for a few hours on each day of our 4 days stay, that means no water as well. Definitely not worth 50 USD per night, it's far away from 4 star hotel.

I was travelling with a group and this was the layover accommodation provided by the airline. One of the main challenges was the rudeness by the morning receptionist. I really felt the language barrier although staff in the dining area and lounge were generally respectful. The receptionist however soured my experience, but the shuttle service to the airport was reliable.

Adamant staff and services are very poor. When I entered in the room, there was no drinking water, no towel and soap. When I called them then at first they assured that towel will delivered in 10 mins and those 10 mins completed after more than 3 hours of constant follow-ups and even couple of visits to the front desk. They were not even listening what I or other guests were complaining. If possible then I would like to give them negative ratings. Worst experience

Was neat and good. Always hesitant of using one of these hotels in Addis while on transit but this was not terrible, actually good for bed and breakfast. Room was neat and ok to pass the night, staff were friendly, dinner and breakfast was also ok. A big hotel actually about 250 rooms, 8 floors accommodation. My rest was quiet and peaceful, wifi not so strong on the upper floors. Generally, my guess is that the service was enough was transiting guest.

We were traveling to Mumbai from Cairo via ADD and euthopia air had us transferred to this hotel as our layover was 17 hours at ADD. The property is rated as 4 star but it's equivalent to 3 star considering India or genuine standards. However, the property is clean and well maintained, staff is helpful and polite. Kitchen staff is also good with amazing food for both veg and non-veg options. Liked this place and would recommend it to everyone!

Worst hotel I've ever stepped into!! I have arrived in the hotel late night, in transit for one night. My room was dirty, no towels and bedding was dirty, had to call the staff to replace it. Dinning room was dirty everywhere, Table cloths full with stains, looks like never been washed. Wake up call service called in 2 hours before time...when I went to the loo.. Surprise!!! No water to flush..... DO NOT recommend anyone to visit here.

The is far from the last hotel I stayed while on transit with in Addis Ababa Ethiopia. Hotel is big but not modern I think it’s old or rather getting old. Doesn’t smell great actually. The Debre Damo hotel is an elegant place for travelers in transit through Ethiopia. Was booked in by Ethiopian Airlines and the experience is lovely. Just 15 minutes drive from the airport. The rooms are spacious with all amenities. The views from the balcony are beautiful. The reception was courteous and the food is great. Generally, it's good value for money.

Their services are not bad. However, they need to improve on the quality of their rooms and food served in their restaurant. WiFi services are also extremely poor.

I only use the gym because I can walk to it from my apartment, but the gym attendants do a great job. I also get a lot of massages from the gym staff, and they are great. Ethiopia is generally cold so please go with your sweaters. I liked that the elevator was working because it was a very tall building. Helpful staff. Good food. Cosy rooms. Hot water. TV with a lot of channels. The reception woke me up the next morning so I would not miss my the pick up bus. I feel the service is ok. I recommend them.

Easy to locate and 10 to 15 min. Drive from airport during peak hours. Stayed for just one night. Food was not at all good., very limited options for Vegetarians. Room not maintained properly. Dark corridors.., lack of natural ventilation. So I suggest find a better option than this.

Stayed daytime, as part of the Ethiopian Airlines programme. Really nice hotel, clean and safe, with smartly-attired and friendly staff. Close to the airport, but worth next to a metro stop. I would definitely stay for the night if I have the chance. .

Layover transfer hotel that has basic amenities. Hotel shuttle available. At night, there is not much in the area. We tried to go for a short walk but the concerierge told us to come back in which made me wonder. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Hotel is clean but basic. Breakfast and dinner food was not great.

Everything about this hotel screams filth, the bedsheet had nasty stains and room was unkempt. The food was nothing to write home and I’m not even picky with food. The waiters or waitresses were soo forceful try to force as to eat like their salary depends on it .

My flight ended up being delayed so the airline set me up here. The staff here is incredibly friendly and helpful! The restaurant has a wide selection and there is s bar/cafe on the first floor. The staff also helped to set up a driver for me to see some of the sites. Rooms are large and pretty nice.

Arrived really latebut the receptionist were of great help. We had to spend the night at Adis when our flight was delayed. The room was pretty, small and the hot water worked. The dining decor was a bit out dated and it seem a bit dark and dull for me. We had free breakfast which was just Ok as well.

For a tired passenger on a layover, this was the perfect hotel. Excellent staff, clean room, good food, friendly bar tender. Not pretentious or flashy, needed a bit of maintenance here and there. Worth the stay.

Its very good hotel in the middle of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Rooms are spacious and connected washroom has modern plumbing fittings. Very good cleanliness is maintained in hotel. Staffs are courteous and responsive. Restaurant is also very good. However, WiFi connectivity is poor in rooms.

Rude waitstaff at the restaurant. Their rooms have a horror movie style setting. Very poor WIFI signal. Very stressful place to stay. It's easier to book for a layover stay than other hotels and is relatively close to the airport. Weigh the pros and cons. Cheers!

Friendly and helpful staff. Overnight layover very well organized by Ethiopian and the hotel. No stress at all. Room very ok. Better to have earplug if your room is on the main road side. The downside is clearly the food, dinner and breakfast very disappointing.

Very filthy room, particularly the bathroom. The toilet had urine in it and all over the seat, the room had no towels, the bathroom floor was wet, the food was cold. We had a horrible experience all around! And staff felt entitled to tips after all this!

그냥저냥 스탑오버 할때 잠자기에는 나쁘지 않습니다. 인터넷은 로비에서만 되고요. 식사는 그냥 뭐 빵하고 야채볶음으로 요기하는 수준. 잠깐 피로 풀기에는 나쁘지 않습니다. 그 외 여행으로 오시는 분들은 다른곳 추천합니다
