Lovely, quiet temple including a pagoda and gardens, situated a relaxed 10 minute walk from Zhenru Subway station (Line 11). It's a great place to go and explore, whether you want to walk around or just sit down and take in the quiet atmosphere. The garden is shaped like a rectangle with different gardens and buildings that you can walk into. You could expect to spend 30 minutes to 1 hour there. It's incredibly well maintained and clean, the people who work there are also really lovely and friendly. Location: Easy to find. Go to Zhenru Station (line 11), get out at exit 5, turn right and right again down Beishi Road, walk for around 10 minutes to the crossroads and turn right, you'll be able to see the Temple's East Gate entrance with 2 statues out the front (that's where the ticket office was when I visited). On the way to and from the subway, you'll also have the chance to walk through a more local and older looking part of Shanghai. Cost: 10 yuan Food: There are also local places to eat around the temple if you're hungry.

与一般的红墙金瓦的宫殿式寺院不同，这座寺院的主色调是青黑和朴素的原木色，自然产生一种清净感。 大雄宝殿是元代遗留的建筑，其他各殿皆为仿元风格，有十级高塔，为沪上唯一建于近百年的佛塔，庄严精致。塔下藏有释迦如来真身舍利并其他珍宝。 方丈妙灵法师德高望重，并于每周下午四点半升座开讲甚深佛经，悲智无量。

記得很小的時候來拜拜都不用買門票，吃素齋飯也覺頗新鮮。據說院內原本有兩棵古老的銀杏樹，現在貌似只剩一棵了。沒到初一十五上香的人還是挺多的，不過當然不能和玉佛寺比。
