Although this is one of the oldest department store with Japanese influence in Taipei, I don't think it has lost its charm at all. Nowadays I still visit here every time I come back to Taipei. My mum used to take me here every weekend when I was young. So we've had lots of memories checking out all the toys and playing on the children's level. I've always enjoyed shopping here, especially during their "annual celebration" period. There are always plenty of promotions and discounts on every floor. For young female fashion, the brands are very heavily influenced by Japanese and Korean fashion trends. The food court level is still full of yummy treats and different cuisines. Location is superb with direct passage to MRT.

I was there for a very specific store so I looked ahead. If not, you might have a hard time finding what you want. But if you have time to browse around, it's not a problem. They have a lot of things to checkout. Easy access with MRT and 2 levels below eith food. I went on a Saturday and it wasn't as packed as I thought and food court didnt have much wait time. The place is not empty for sure, lot of traffic. If I live here this would be once of the shopping spot for sure. Only reason I gave it a three stars is because the place is a bit dated. But the brands inside made it worth it.

My review is to read as an European eye: maybe this mall is really nice for Taiwanese. Coming from Europe, this mall contain only products I can buy in France or UK, but more expensive on average. It's clean, the decoration is nice too, but most shopkeeper will follow you through your visit of each shop trying to push you to buy (this isn't specific to sogo, but I really felt like they see me as a walking wallet here) The food court is the most "interesting" place, as the food is not super expensive and at least a bit different than what you would find in Europe.

This is an old department store, but very well maintaned and run. Service is great, goods and decoration is modern. Conviniently connected with the metro train station. For foreign visitors suggesting to visit food court floor that offers really wide choice of food local and international with moderate prices and not bad quality. Variety is amazing. Good time to visit during some national celebrations, as this Sogo will always be decorated to the special events with some special goods.

It's funny, cause this is an old store at least 20+ years. Not sure how they kept it in such great condition, and the stores inside always revamped, and instead of going head to toe with online competition, they just made it an attraction to visit. I'm not that much of a department store person but this place is nice. And did I mention they linked it to the subway? This is a 20+ old store, so how very thoughtful were it's creators! Every floor has it's uniqueness. Top 3 sogo in Taipei

Best mall in East zone Taipei. It has all you need in one building for holiday gift shopping. Might not be as fancy as the xinyi district but it sure has what it got to meet the needs for demanding shopper like me a real East zone locals Was very please to find all the moon cake brand in the basement while I was around. It saves up a lot of traveling time and reduce the risk from expose to Covid. No wonder it is still the landmark for East zone locals

The grocery store has loads of options and the shopping mall itself. Many good deserts located on the same floor as the grocery store and the floor aboce and there's even a subway connected to it. It is a great location. I would definitely recommend this place. It is a nice place to shop. There's a large variety of things you can buy. Every floor is designated to a certain category. It is also well organized, you know which floor sells what because of the signs.

  • Ken Maverick

There are about 12 floors that you shall spend about 2-3 hours for exploring every floors. The store employee is very friendly and helpful. She tried to communicate with us. There are Japanese foods and items event at the top floor. I bought items more than 2,000 TWD but I cannot issue a tourist 5% VAT refund because the staff required a real passport. So, when you visit this place, pls don't forget to bring your passport along with.

Even this shopping mall is the most luxurious department store in Taiwan; however, the prices all are beautiful (expensive), I thought. If you want to buy some in reasonable prices, I think you can find it. Maybe must time a few hours to find them. Food and beverage are provided for the visitors with the premium quality. In generally speaking, everything here is elegant products and the atmosphere here is very comfortable.

basic SOGO department stores, with lots of stores. My highlight is the floors for toys and games. We visited there, as my friend was looking for some sorts of dolls, but we ended up hanging out with the employee who sells the games. He is very friendly and easy to approach. He taught us how to use the modern kids games (which could be hard). It is really enjoyable thanks to that man.

  • Ton T

Non-Asians should experience this kinds of stores, especially at opening time. This SOGO is a little older than the others nearby but is quite popular and can get very crowded. At peak times, getting between floors can be challenging. Food is great and there are even activities for the kids. The toys at Japanese department stores are always the best.

One of the most historical and largest department store in Taipei, you can find various things in here though the price is a bit higher. There's a link passway connecting MRT station, so you won't get wet when it's raining outside. Besides, there will be a small musical show every hour of the clock in front of the main door.

  • Stephen Mann

Some nice things but I found a lot of the clothing items and bags don’t have prices displayed, I don’t really like this style of shopping. Electronics seems good, picked up a Panasonic oral irrigator. There is also electronics section on 8F Sogo across the road. They seem to be up to date with the latest gadgets.

What a zoo. No ability to manage crowds and even the mall employees contribute to the chaos. Was going up the escalator and an employee, apparently in a rush, came up right behind me and bumped into me. I looked at her with a "Hello?" look and she didn't even have the class to say "sorry" or "excuse me".

  • Yong Frankie

This department store has been newly renovated and conveniently accessible by public transport. This is perhaps one of the most popular department stores in Taipei selling mainly Japanese and foreign goods. The 11th floor housed a good variety of restaurants and are very popular with visitors.

  • Ravel C

A reputable department store famous for its service quality and efficient layout. It is not a mega shopping mall which often exhausts shoppers, but offers the maximum things to shop within its space-effective presentations. The connection gateway to the MRT station is convenient.

  • Robert

This is the older Sogo. I like going to this Sogo for the kids floor; something missing in the new Sogo. This kids floor has toys and kids activity like clay making. It's also covid friendly with temperature checks at the entrances and table barriers at the food court.

  • Timothy Chen

We had 2 excellent purchase experiences here. One with Mr Liu from Clinique. He helped us in English which was quite good. Another purchase was with a nice lady at a small stand selling Azur brand clothing. She was also helpful and we found a beautiful dress there.

  • Sophie Tseng

You could find out many kinds of products here, especially Japanese food and many kinds of sake, soujou, even the seasonings.... Sometimes, we have to work after the Autumnal Equinox for Japanese New Rice Seminar in November, it's meaningful and interesting for us.

  • Sandra Matsuyama

We visited the place, and it was fantastic with many advanced devices for conducting laboratory tests. The owner, Mr. Lee was very kind and led us to a tour inside the place and also made a presentation about the company and his policy. Very impressive

Money exchange service at information desk on 1st floor. Toy store on 10th floor is awesome. My favorite Hello Kitty shop is here too. Tax return service is on 9th floor when spending is equal or more than 2,000. There is a food court on B1.

There are 2 SOGO shopping malls in the vicinity, one with high end brands and the other with mixed signature and mid range brands. Both are pleasant place to shop. Lower floor has a food court, clean and good selection of food.

  • Pĩø Tḁṁŭl̥

This place is ridiculous! It takes 15-20 minutes to get an elevator, and they do not prioritize disabled or parents with strollers. Don't waste your time, there are dozens of other malls in Taipei - avoid this one

  • John Chen

Way too busy for their annual sale. If you like crowds, then the month of November is the time to go. The entire place can be felt like sardines in a can. The wait time for an elevator is around 10 to 15 minutes.

A little up class shopping mall. Multi-levels. Just like most Malls in Taiwan. Supermarket & good court at basement levels, boutiques at lower levels, mens/women/children clothing & others at higher levels

  • Xenia Jones

Nice mall with a Japanese touch. It has lots of stores and a nice but small food court. It was interesting to see they have some ladies working inside the elevators taking people up or down on the lift.

  • LiV3 LiFe

This place has 11 floors and catering to many needs. A range of shops from clothings, essential oil, Muji, shoes, dining to supermarkets. There is at least 3 to 6 elevators catered to the floors.

  • Pno Ens

There are definitely Many nice restaurant in this department store. Usually very crowded all day long. The Starbucks tugged deep in the basement had best matcha latte I’ve ever tasted.

  • Sean Edgley

The stupidest elevator system I’ve encountered in Taiwan. You can take an elevator up, but not down. That means from the 10th floor, you must take the escalators all the way down.

  • Sunil Targe

This is very big shopping mall in the Taipei city. You can arrive there by MRT and come out on the Zhongxing Fushing MRT station. Nice place to shopping lovers …...

  • LIMAURA

Good building, good mall. I think it's better give an information about each level floor in front of elevator. So, new people can easy find what their look for. Thanks.

  • Alex H

All Sogo's have fine dining on the upper levels and really nice food courts below ground. I like the window shop and then go to the food court and have a nice meal.

  • Jim Wang

Very convenient to get to via MRT and bus. Food court is not as large as before, and food selection is limited. Go out the back door to get more food selection.

  • jimmy q

It's b1 food court has been remodeled and I like the food from gonna eat express . It has fresh salad for both meat lover and vegetarian.

  • jay victor

Superb department store with nearly everything, and great dining options. Fresh Mart on the lower level is a really good supermarket.

  • Carolyn “Ris” Ngiraidis

Exquisite Restaurants on the 10th and 11th floor, the rest of the floors done offered different shopping options at high end prices.

  • maggie wang

  • Jessica Turriziani Shih

Always a long wait for the elevators (take the escalators if you can). Food court is newly renovated and has great options.

  • C Lee

Great for shopping and near the train station! Very lively at night and the Christmas decorations brighten the night sky.

  • Joanne Angeles

Multiple floor department store. Food place is available inside. Connected to train station so easy to locate and go to.

  • sourav banerjee

All good brands are there for cosmetics, dont forgot to ask for discount, you will get discount or free sample

  • Jasmine Ong

Comfort shopping experience at your pacing. Payment is at individual brand store, very customised.

  • Derek Chng

Another local high class shopping store in Taipei. Can get cheaper more in my own home country.

  • Jod Gozum

Big department store with so many choices. The food court, though, has quite limited seating.

  • G. L.

A typical upscale department store in Taiwan. Everything seems to be clean and in order.

  • Victor Fernandez

Great mall nothing different to others but it has a good variety of stores and food

  • Dustin Wen

Great mall for adults, there is a children's section but no arcade

  • JUJU

  • Anson Sat

There's a good Korean BBQ restaurant in the food court.

  • Vivian Teng

Both old & new Sogo is clean and fun to walk through
