Pros: The store has a pretty good selection of items for a convenience store, the customer before me who had a dog got a treat, and the owner seemed very nice! Cons: The owner straight up was not happy about taking EBT and was extremely judgmental about it, which led to a not great shopping experience. Also the items are fairly overpriced, but that is to be expected of a mom and pop convenience store in DC. If I didn't see the person before me and also if this was a chain store, it would get a solid 1 star. However, since the owner seemed nice (to middle class people with dogs) and their lives might depend on the ratings of the store, 3 stars. 7/11 would've been a better shopping experience than this.

7 River Mart is a gem in the neighborhood. It is always well stocked with a wide array of groceries, fresh fruits and vegetables, beer and wine, and basic provisions. You would be surprised how much can be packed in the tiny little store. Their prices are reasonable ane you cannot beat the convenience. No long lines ever. The proprietors are kind and easy going and always have a smile on their faces. I highly recommend that you do at least some of your shopping at 7 River Mart and support this wonderful neighborhood market.

Don't let the humble exterior fool you--this corner shop is a hidden gem. From all the Ben and Jerry's flavors you could want in an ice cream emergency to fresh broccoli to round out a weeknight meal, it has everything you could need in a pinch (or if you can't be bothered to walk to a full-size super market). The owner is also friendly and solicitous of what else customers want stocked.

7-River Mart is the best neighborhood shop in Capitol Hill. Like a New York-style bodega, they’ve got everything you could possibly need in 200 sq feet. Every time I visit for that one missing ingredient, they’ve got it, from fresh veg to Ghirardelli chocolate chips, orange juice to ice cream. The owner seems like a great guy that we’re lucky to have in the community.

Happened to stop in on New Years eve afternoon, while doing laundry across the street, the owner was very nice and especially loved his interaction with the young girl, they were playing the counting game. I will stop in again while at the laundry mat!! I understand, why there are soo many 5 star reviews. What a wonderful littel gem!!!

The best little market in DC! Mr. & Mrs. Ko (not sure on correct spelling?) have everything! And if they don’t, they are sure to have it next time you go. Such a great variety, and they remember their customers by name. Wonderful & friendly service.

Good place and good people. Run by Mr. & Mrs. Ko. Good beer selection but also a ton of the small necessities. Fruits, veggies, some delicious breads, and even fresh herbs. Wine selection not bad. Bring the pooches and get a treat for them too!

7 River Market is one of those rare finds. Sam, the owner, is an incredibly friendly and kind soul. He has a nice selection of beer, wine, and food items. Skip the 7-11 and go here instead for a much better experience.

The best little shop in town. Sam and his wife are great people. They've always had what I needed. You can bring your dog in and he'll give your pup a treat on your way out. Everyone loves this place.

Great shop - appears to have one of everything crammed into a very small space. Extremely convenient if you find yourself out of something for that recipe you're halfway through. Very friendly owners.

Best little market in Capitol Hill! Milk, eggs, bread, homemade kimchi, small selection of basic produce. Spices and small things are behind the counter. $10 minimum for card.

Really delightful and well-stocked little neighborhood grocery. There is some produce in the back and a good selection of cooking ingredients, not just corner store snacks.
