I only visit this library with my son and other homeschooling parents once a week. The library was nice to offer us a private room to organize a book club and traditional board game session for 2 hrs during non peak hrs (while majority of kids are in school). However, the library manager for some reason no longer allows us to utilize the room. Shame, our taxes and petition for library budget doesn't mean anything. We're only there once a week for 2 hrs. It's not like we take over the Library or anything. Hence, most of the time that room is hardly used by the library. Why let the room go to waste. Other than that upset, this library does have an elevator to the 2nd and 3rd flrs for handicap and elderlies. It's not a very big library, yet it does have a lot of books in different languages like children's books in Japanese etc. I found the librarians on the children's floor very helpful and they have been kind to help pick out good books for the kids to read and discuss. So far the kids loved reading Frindle and Bob.

I love libraries. The staff is kind, but the place is clearly underfunded and mismanaged from the top level. It needs some love and attention from the kinds of people who can not just refurbish, but totally transform to create a functional space. My main gripe. Its a library in the 21st Century and there are so few outlets, and theyre in such inconvenient places. I cant work there if I only get an outlet when lucky! I have be forced to go to DTUT seven blocks away rather than write in the library on my block.

I honestly don’t want to even give this library a 1 star ratting if there was anything below I would definitely give them a grade in the negative percentile. Not all of the staff but some of the staff are rude and not empathetic at all. I had to fill out certain documents to land a new job and one of the associate questioned me on how long I had the laptop when I told her I’m filling out important documentation. If I didn’t need to use the laptop I would not be at the library in which for two is very noisy

This library is truly an insult to the concept of the library as the place where one can sit down, focus, and read/work. Featuring only 4 tables, its maximum seating capacity is 16 adults, and that's the only NYPL in the neighbourhood. One has to suffer the relentless noise from the children's floor and chatter of the library staff and customers. It's a complete misallocation of municipal funds.

Snooty staff at the information desk. I waited whlie she was on the phone, when she hung up I asked if there was a restroom, answer” I am sorry I am helping someone now. “. All she would have had to say “downstairs” less words and I would be gone. Ibshould have peed on the floor, luckily another staff person was able to direct me

Great wifi, very helpful and friendly staff, beautiful atmosphere to work in. In any larger reading room there will be some noise, I don't understand how you could expect anything else. But unlike some of the reviews here I did not find it noisy at all and if you do, just were headphones.

This is a beautiful library that often hosts some small exhibitions. Access is free and its layout spans several floors with multiple rooms where to work/study. The library has free WiFi. It sometimes also hosts late evening/night events but it's not so easy to learn about them.

I never understand places that say they close at a certain an hour, but 10 and 15 minutes before closing time the doors are already closed and they’re kicking people out. This library does that. Should know not to use anything that says the word public in it.

This is a great library overall, but in particular am a fan of the second floor kids library. They always have a good variety of books, and in different languages. For younger kids you can also check out toys to play with. Great indoor activity option.

The staff is very helpful, and extremely nice. I have never had a bad experience when I visit this Library. As a matter of fact, I love coming here. I really love visiting this library. …

I have problems with access to my account and lady on third floor doesn't want to help me at all , make look what she's so busy. I'm only needed to print document. Better will use library in Brooklyn with better service

  • María Teijeiro

Muy amables y buena selección de obras en español aunque no demasiadas para tantas personas como hay de habla española en Nueva York. También me han agradado las ramas de Yorkville y Webster

  • James Zhang

Very fast wifi. I clocked it at 80Mbps down, 90Mbps up with 3ms latency. Lots of tables for reading and studying on the 3rd floor. Some of the corner tables have electric plugs.

Bad Experience at this library. "The Lady" in the 3rd floor says teenagers can't be in the 2nd or 3rd. Even if they are doing homework. 1 star. Horrible.

All the reference librarians are very professional and helpful. Very excellent choice of DVD movies. Rather noisy children's room. Laptops available.

Staff member wasn't helpful at all and sounded very dismissive. Took much longer to do what I had to do. Very bad first impression.

  • Brandon Davis-Thompson

They close early and don't mind arguing with you on if they'll let you use the bathroom or not because they close that really too

Lovely place. My favorite local branch. Great place to do some work or find books, and the librarians are very friendly.
