I've been shopping here 20 years and love it just as much now as I ever have. I can spend $50 and have enough groceries to eat for 4-5 days. They have a great produce section, a huge variety of meats, and every type of noodle you could ever hope to find. The most enticing change they've made is the bakery section. So many amazing baked goods, from jiggly cheesecake to Hokkaido milk bread to bao buns. And they've mastered coffee flavor in the muffins and cupcakes... Rich and aromatic flavor without that fake chemical taste a lot of bakeries get with coffee flavors. You really can't go wrong with anybody you pick out. Plus, it's the only place I can find Four Seasons and calamansi juices! My only wish is that they'd carry the grapefruit Gokuri.

If you like Asian food, not matter your cultural background this is the place to be. If you want to experiment with cooking with new ingredients this is the place to come and have a look. Having lived in China for 20 years this is one of the most authentic places to find Asian goods in general but many Chinese staples. Please try all the veggies most are just stir friend with garlic, oil, salt and maybe oyster sauce. I will start with a suggestion, Indo Mie instant noodles. Trust me when I say this, you will not go back to regular ramen. A second suggestion by Lao Gan Ma, any flavor works but i would focus on chilli oil. If you like beer try Tsingtao it is German Chinese beer, don't ask its just good.

This is my go to Asian grocery store, a newer 99 Ranch Market compared to the one off Clairemont Mesa Blvd. Aisles are wider and produce and meats fresh. They have an expanded section for just hot pot related items. This market is clean and doesn't have the smells at the old 99 ranch or zion markets. There is always an attendant around to assist you at the produce and meat sections. I also enjoy having ample parking and not having to fight my way through long lines and crowded spaces. There are also small dining shops with different cusines to choose from that is outside of the 99 ranch kitchen.

Great place to try unusual pan asian foods. Very expensive I wouldn't use it to by staples I can get elsewhere. Processed food often comes in many layers of unnecessary plastic packaging such as individually wrapped cookies in a plastic bag with metallic plastic lining and a plastic tray, not there fault as they only sell it I guess it's an asian thing. Still, an interesting store with affordable restaurants on site a great seafood section amd interesting asian vegetables as well.

I usually have a good experience here. However, today was terrible.. I bought a beef tenderloin that was in a vacuum sealed bag and also wrapped on a styrofoam tray. I get home to prepare it and it’s spoiled rotten. The vacuum sealed bag was slightly opened with blood dripping out. If I didn’t live such a distance away, I would definitely bring it back. Groceries are already expensive, the least you can do is ensure the food you are selling is not spoiled, opened or expired.

So the downside is : finding a parking spot, enduring some strange odors and understanding most packaging is not written in English. It is well trafficked by locals, buying unidentifiable favorites. I shop here specifically for seafood.. They have it flown in daily and it is the freshest available on the market. Ranch 99 is the only store I can buy Chilean Sea Bass, Green Lips Mussels and live Blue Claw Crabs. Shopping here is an exploration...

I went to get lunch @ the last minute and this young female ranch 99 employee spent her break time yapping really loud in the lunch room . She had her phone on loudspeaker and she keeps yelling at the person she’s talking to for the whole duration . She should have gone outside and not annoy people trying to enjoy their meals? Please train your employee to have common courtesy and respect for others especially the customers.

The 99 Ranch hot plate counter has some decent selections and typically fresh due to high turnover. I had the bbq pork chunks with curry chicken wings and fun chow noodles. Overall good, not great, but for the price of $10, it’s tastier than Panda Express. They have a small “dim sum,” section, but a bit pricey for my taste. There’s a good bakery across the way that has good selection.

It's got the ethnic food that most people are looking for, but space wise, it's pretty tight, especially if you come on the weekend. Fortunately, it's well organized and flows fairly smoothly. It was easy enough to return the wrong sized pot lid that I bought, and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. The cooked food is tasty, so grab some on your way to the checkout counter.

One of my go-to grocery store for Asian vegetable, fruit, and food. One has to go early mornings on the weekends to find a parking spot, and get away from crowds. I like to come here because it has a large variety. Vegetable and fruit are fresh if one go when the workers are re-stocking. It is usually Friday around 6-7pm, weekend mornings around 9:30AM, 1PM, and early evenings.

We went to this store from a friend that told us about it. It was a decent store. The rows are tight pushing a shopping cart down the isles. The desserts that are there look incredible and delicious. We didn't try any but they do look good. The other area has a food area, kind of quick fast food. Pretty decent serving size for the price. Overall it was alright.

I wish there’s a 99 Ranch Market like this one near us. Loved their hot food section. You can get such a large selections of noodles, rice, veggies and meats that’s tasty and cheaply to go or eat in. I liked the rice noodles, stirred eggplant and orange chicken combo. Currently they have fresh dungarees crabs on sale for $4.99 a pound, what a good deal.

With the newer store only a 6-min drive away, I only come here for the Wushiland boba drinks. I like their new self-checkout stations. What if…the space right outside the market meant for shopping carts (but empty most of the times) is rented out to food vendors selling, say, stinky tofu, fried sweet potato balls, and lu wei instead?

We like 99 Ranch for its vegetables and many oriental foods. Selections are abundant and vegetables are fresh. Of course the prices there are much more reasonable than it’s peers. We shop at the new 99 Ranch Market on a weekly basis. By the way, this store even has a better layout than many other grocery stores. We like it.

I love this market. They have so many hard to find fresh vegetables and foods. I love the selection of fresh meats and seafood. Such a huge selection. This market has a hot food area with delicious food if you're in a hurry...or just to take home. It is out of my way but definitely worth the trip.

The check out lady was quite rude. I put a bag of my stuff in the plastic basket while I was paying, then the check out lady told me not to take the basket out of the store, and another worker came by and took the basket away immediately. Chill bro, no one wants to steal that old and dirty basket!

Crowded, long lines at cashier's as usual. Meat and produce department need lot of improvement in their quality. Prices are ok, most of the employees doesn't speak English fluently so it's hard to ask questions. They are not very friendly either so it's better to ask questions at front desk.

  • Jiayu Liu

One of their Cashiers, I assume she speaks Vietnamese. Her first name is Dang, very rude, literally yelled at me for no reason when I was asking my receipt and in front of a long checkout line. I felt like I did something wrong because doing groceries here. Worst experience ever.

  • Trash_Mouth Vegan

They have the most amazing produce section. Personal care items as well, I spend way too much money here, BUT it's worth it. They also have shampoo that I've been looking for, for months, in store. It's imported and I'm so thankful I finally found it.

  • QIPING LI

Did a couples massage here and my massage was more than great! The masseuse was gentle and trying to loosen up some of my knots without causing me pain! The lady at the front also very friendly and she has a good eye! We will definitely be back.

I checked this place out, had every intention of buying some lunch and dinner here, but the first thing that strikes me as I enter is the smell of rotting fish. I still entered to have a look around, and I observed crab and lobster tanks

  • Odette Nudera

A good Oriental supermarket for everyone, a bit more pricey than others, With a good selection of Asian goods & ingredients. They have the Pandemic Safety Code compliance in place, social distancing markers on the floor, plastic screen

The store is fine but in the hot food area, The Asian server has a nasty attitude arguing with English speaking customers and when ready to order she starts with ,what do you want? I know that I'm not the only one that has noticed her.

  • Redwood “Redwood” Punx

Some of the staff can be a little cold & "unfriendly", but I am used to this kind of behavior. Asian culture is a little reserved & standoff-ish. I grew up around this kinda thing, its just how it is.

  • Vicente Samano

Great work safety awareness in motion, superior quality for all product at review cut and sort to a requested grade for a quality assurance . Fascinating work experience and good position to handel.

I'm a big fan of my local 99 Ranch. I go there frequently looking for some of their fresh fried fish, fresh shellfish, whole duck which I like to smoke, and abundant fresh produce.

  • L.E. Herbert

Haven't been there in a while found my some of my favorite drinks from Japan. The drive is a little far for me but definitely if I'm in the area I will make it a point to stop in.

  • Rachael Craven

Can never get help everything's in whatever age and language it is and the star smells I know it's because they have fish in there but not so sure it's a fish

  • Google Shopper

If you need fresh fish go here! They have tanks with live fish, lobster, crab, king crab. They have a ginseng store if you want traditional Chinese herbs!

  • Ivana A.

Special Asian Market. There is everything you may need or try to taste. Crabs, lobsters and many other live fish. Rubs and condiments. Must visit

  • Belinda Sauceda

  • Leslie Walker

A truly wonderful Asian market! The seafood section is a mixture of live (crabs, mussels etc) and whole fish. It's the best in San Diego.

  • gullum snothere

It definitely feels like I'm on a foreign vacation here. Great place to get fresh fish, produce and other Asian foods and drinks.

  • Robby Halim

My favourite place to go. Recently they open the self checkout. Still has a queue on the cashier, but they’re getting better

  • JC

Very good Chinese supermarket. Good selection, good prices. Nice fresh sections like bakery, fish and ready to eat cuisine.

  • SLB

Great Asian produce. Smells a bit like most Asian produce stores. Lots of fresh meat, fish and produce plus table ware.

  • altamuu

I love to get a whole jackfruit from here. The food court is also really good at this location.

  • Calvin Dixon
