We ultimately had a good time visiting all three levels of Alquimico but it did start off a little rough when they told my friend he could not come in with a sleeveless shirt. The shirt was expensive and looked really stylish so it seemed a bit silly to us but, nonetheless, we went to a souvenir shop next door and bought a cheap t-shirt to meet their dress requirements. (This and the poor service on the third floor were the main reason to lower to 4). One other item of note, women were allowed in with a really random of assortment of tops with no problem so the dress code only apparently applies to men. We went in and on the first floor we had the table of cheese along with a couple of drinks. The cheese assortment was delicious and the drinks were tasty as well. There was great reggaeton music playing. We asked to be transferred up to the second floor and were served by Esteban who was professional as well as friendly with us. We had a couple more apps here with drinks and asked the hostess to be transferred up to the third floor rooftop. The hostess on the second floor either didn’t know how to transfer our ticket or decided not to do it so we had to pay our bill and start over when we moved to the third floor. The third floor was super active with louder music and was much warmer given it is outside. More of a dance vibe but the service was lacking. The waitress seemed indifferent to her job up there which was unfortunate given everyone else had done a great job up to that point. We had one drink and she never asked if we wanted another one so we decided to take off as it was starting to look like a thunderstorm was approaching. Definitely a cool place to check out but be prepared for the dress code.

If you’re able to get past the long wait in line (they do not take reservations) and are loud music on every level, this place can be worth the experience. Probably not surprising but if your hoping to have “dinner talk” with others in your group, you might want to skip this location. Otherwise the ambience, the food and the staff are great reasons to try this place out. What I think stands out for this establishment is the fact that their menu is vegetarian/vegan. My party was predominantly meat eaters, but no one felt like the food was lacking due to the absence of meat. Presentation and flavors were on point. We ended up getting seated on the roof top level, and we’re initially worried about the heat, but it turned out to be very comfortable and breezy.

Con sus tres pisos, puedes seleccionar que quieres disfrutar. Les recomiendo que si van por la experiencia en cócteles, se queden en el primero y busquen espacio en la barra para que puedan conversar con los bartenders. Si vas en plan de pareja o amigos el segundo y tercer piso son acordes. Me gusto un cóctel que tienen con ginebra Tanqueray y extracto de piña. Had such a good night here! Arrived early, had a few cocktails and some of the fantastic small plates. It’s so refreshing to see an adventurous mostly plant based menu in Cartagena, it takes bravery to do this and they should be applauded. After a few drinks we asked to move to the top floor and got there just before it started filling up - stayed for a few more hours and it ended up being one of the best nights out we had in Colombia - great vibes, music and dancing. The staff were all lovely too. Whilst leaving we weren’t too impressed with the other floors - the music and vibe reminded me of some chain clubs in the UK so I can see why some might be disgruntled, but just get there early and get onto the rooftop and you won’t be disappointed.

He ido a lugares mejores y lo peor es que se creen los únicos con los mejores cocktails lol para rematar se dan el lujo de excluirles la entrada a las mujeres y más si son de Cartagena porque creen que todas son trabajadoras sexuales como las que ellos están acostumbrados a dejar entrar por “contacto, por carita” o si es extranjero pero eso si hay no les importa que vayan mal vestidos y oliendo feo. Hipócritas! Les falta cultura , abrir más la mente. No sabiendo que la gente con más dinero es la que menos presume. Fui con expectativas muy altas porque había visto videos y recomendaciones buenas, pero no les recomiendo ir si van solos, vayan mejor en grupo para que no los traten mal, a menos que vayan cuando esté vacío. Su personal me hizo sentir que tenía que irme del lugar o pararme de la mesa porque me encontraba sola, me dieron la cuenta sin haberla pedido ni terminado mi trago y no pude subir al rooftop a pesar de que fui dos días en ninguno pude ir, así que vayan con tiempo porque parece no apuntan a todos a su lista de espera a pesar de que lleves horas ahí. Por otra parte no todo el personal es grosero y su comida es muy curiosa si desean probar algo diferente el lugar el lindo y pone buena música.

Uno de los mejores lúxales nocturnos de Cartagena. Está situado en pleno casco histórico y es una casa entera que cuenta con tres plantas. En la primera está la barra principal, que es alucinante. En cada planta sirven cócteles diferentes, que los hacen espectaculares. La música es la mejor de Cartagena, variada y actual. También sirven comida y está muy buena. Hay mucha seguridad y te hacen sentir genial.

Generalidades: - El ambiente es muy agradable, con buena música. - Aceptan tarjetas de crédito y débito como método de pago adicional al efectivo. - La coctelería es realmente buena. No recuerdo el nombre de los tragos que tomé, sin embargo, te diré que ordenes uno que es de color rojo y contiene ron que ellos mismos hacen, el otro trago tiene whisky y creo que hierbabuena. - La atención es buena. - Cada piso tiene su tema. - Te sugiero pidas terraza. - De difícil acceso para personas en silla de ruedas.

Alquimico is definitely the place to go! No Cover charge , the BEST drinks in Cartagena (they’re Top 50 in da world) . I read people talking about their dress code , and WELL if you’re going to a nice place dress nice don’t you think!? The music is GREAT , there’s a wait for the rooftop but they’re on top of it, and communicated us upon entry so we waited around 30 mins but we were a level lower drinking and eating with friends and we didn’t mind. It was by far the best night we had in Cartagena, and I would be back there immediately a heartbeat!

I really expected more. Cocktails were mostly pre-made, and lacking balance, freshness and creativity, evidently catering for a commercial base of customers. When (only) one of the bartenders asked my opinion - I explained, she never offered to replace it, and in her words - 'we cannot be too creative or make bold flavors because we have too many customers to satisfy'. Zero customer service or care, which would be fine if the product was actually good enough. Their success has clearly went to their heads. If you're looking at this bar based on the 50's lists - it has no place there anymore, not close.

Top-rated for a reason! Alquímico will not disappoint! Arrive by 8 pm before tables and bar fill up; earlier if you want the rooftop terrace. Food was very good. I never order cocktails, but these were exceptional. Different cocktail menu and DJ on every floor! If you're on floor 1, choose my girl, LaLa (Laura) as your bartender! She's got energy and skills. They all managed the bar very well considering the crowd--we didn't wait long for drinks. I recommend either ceviche (just like authentic Peruvian) and cocktail Inquisición if you like ginger and can enjoy the strong flavor. Amazing!! DJ kept us dancing! And reasonable prices.

The service is top! The place is fantastic!Problem is for a bar to be at 9th place in the top 50 in the world cocktails and the presentation should be way better... The ideas for the combination of the tastes were nice although they lacked a bonding element. Fizzy drinks like the gnt should have bubbles which they didn't... Cocktails served at coupe glasses where not cold enough... We were at salmon guru in Madrid which was at 16th place of the list and the drinks and the presentation where phenomenal...Hope next time things wil be better. Didn't try food so i don't know...

It’s purported to be one of the top 50 bars in South America, so we came here on a Saturday evening to check it out. There was a line to get in but no cover. We got drinks at the bar on the first level, and then went upstairs to the second one. That’s where food is also served. We had to wait a little bit to go up to the third level, but I would highly recommend it, as that’s where the outdoor rooftop area is located. The DJ played a mix of English and Spanish music. There were seated and standing tables. There was a restroom on the 3rd and well as 1st level. There is wifi that you need to ask the staff for the password.

Alquímico is a place you must go, if you want to listen good music and enjoy some dancing. Waiters are in good mood all the time. Go and enjoy.

I loved the experience here. Very Colombian. I visited the first floor for a drink and third floor. A unique space I found to be well run, with good communication between the staff. 4 cocktails cost me 180 000. 00 COP The only negative I can say is they made me pour out my water upon entrance. At each table they provided water, however, a communication or invatory/utility error caused me to head out after about 1.5 hour because I could not get more. At a bar like this I normally would not expect to bring in a backpack and water, however, this is Colombia and it is hot. Even at night.

El lugar es muy muy lindo!! La comida es diferente y vegetariana, gran punto para mi. Combina muchas frutas y verduras locales lo que lo hace distinguirse. El ambiente es cool y en el rooftop se baila, hermoso! Lamentablemente sólo nos dejaron estar 10 minutos ahí, aunque no estába full, nos pidieron que nos retiremos. Pedí un trago típico, Chirrinchi y no tenían, creo que sería lo primero que deberían tener teniendo en cuenta que figura en la carta y que son un bar premiado. De todas formas, lo recomiendo.

Cool building and great idea to use Amazonian ingredients in cocktails. We had a bartender who was more interested in goofing off with his colleague (like throwing ice and trying to catch cubes with tongs) than make drink suggestions. Also, very disparate treatment based upon having big breasts as the two girls who sat next to us received quite a bit of attention. I think they are coasting on their laurels in terms of Top 50 bars categorization, and need to focus on professionalism/service.

How does a bar get rated Top-50 and you can barely taste the alcohol / spirits in their drinks? And it's not by accident, when I asked I was told they are more about the drink mixes and interior scene. So be prepared to pay for an experience, instead of what most bars are. The front entrance with security and the line is mostly for optics to make you think it is super-popular. Just so many better options in this amazing town to drink and eat for less price and higher quality.

Hoy Julio 2023 no podría describir si ha permanecido su servicio ya que ni siquiera nos dejaron pasar a mi y mis dos acompañantes por nuestra vestimenta. Yo utilizaba una blusa y un short, aparentemente muy reveladores para entrar al lugar. Qué pena insistir a mis amigos venir a este lugar para que ni siquiera nos dejaran pasar.

We had some of the best cocktails we've ever had here! We got there right at opening, and got 2 seats at the bar. It was so fun to watch the bartenders make these intricate and unique cocktails. A perk of sitting at the bar is also that the bartenders see easily when you're empty and ready for another. Would recommend everyone try a cocktail or mocktail here!

Cute trendy spot, came early for a cocktail and appetizer. They will check your bags upon entry... I was annoyed that they took my bottle of water. La Mantilla seems to be a popular drink, as I ordered it and so did the tables next to me. It was delish. I also ordere the cassava dumplings, they were ok. Very conflicted about the fact that this is ranked one of the best bars in Colombia or in Latin America or whatever, but the bouncers are a bit rude and entitled. But I guess that’s every bouncer worldwide behaviour? Me particularly don’t like to visit places where they make me feel I’m 20. But yeah, that’s more or less the crowd. So I guess it’s like any other youngsters club vibe you’ll get anywhere else.

Easy to see how this place has garnered all of the well-deserved recognition over the years. The space is interesting, and offers a nice birds eye view of the bar downstairs for those sitting on the second floor. The drinks are equally creative and well constructed, with perfect balance and presentation. Go early at opening to avoid longer wait times, and do yourself an extra favor by exploring the different options on each of the three floors!

Had a great time at this hip social spot. Everyone was happy and having a fantastic time. It was packed. I went on a Saturday night and it was going off. The drinks were crafty and well made. I had a vegan taco and it was delicious. I had a hard time believing it had no meat in it. If you’re looking for a hip party vibe, this is your place.

Really can't say that this bar is in top 50 in the world. Cocktails were good, but nothing special. They let in anyone, doesn't matter how you dress, so really walkabout. No standing culture so you need to find yourself a table or comfortable place to stand. The staff didn't care at all. Rooftop was pretty good, but music was hit and miss. Loads of foreigners as this place is in the top of recommended places.

I did not try the food because we ate before we got there. The service for the drinks was good. It was not my type of music, but it looked like a lot of people enjoyed it... club sound. My only complaint was that there were too many people in the building. There was no cover charge, and we got there around 9pm.

Had drinks on the second level. This place is nice, each floor you're supposed to have a different experience. I think the rooftop is only open weekends. Definitely put this bar on your list while in Cartagena. They're #9 in the world for a reason.

The experience was awesome. We ordered 4 different entrees. All of them were delicious, but the best one was the octopus. The staff was very professional and friendly. Bathroom was very clean. But, that place is very pricy. One of the most expensive places I've ever been.
