Hosted a company outing here. When went up to check in with the staff, stood there for 5 min before anyone bothered to acknowledge me, in spite of the fact I was the only one at the counter and it was 3 workers. One had his head stuck in some tablet and the other two were just chit chatting. I was prepared to wait as long as possible to see how long it would take for them to acknowledge me. When one did, she acted like I was truly bothering her. But my coworkers and I still had a great time. The pizza was delish and the chicken too. Although I was not pleased with the 92 grade I saw on the kitchen wall, but our event was paid for in advance so just had to deal. I haven’t been to this alley in years so I was glad to see that the floors were not a dingy carpet anymore. Also I would have thought since we spent quite a bit of money with this reservation that at some point a manager would have came over and introduced themselves and thanked us for the business. If there was a manager around, him/her definitely did not make themselves known. All the workers looked like they wanted to be anywhere else but there.

First time my friends and I have ever been here. About 8 of us walked in to automatic great customer service at the desk of what my friends and I were doing. They walked us through how to start the games and from there it just got better. We had one lady that was coming to us from the other side of the building that was asking us if we were alright and needed any more drinks or even food. It took about 10 maybe even 15 minutes and our drink were replaced with new ones and food was out and ready to eat. There was security that was there that constantly walked around keeping an eye on everyone. It made us feel safe and I really think this is a great place for family and friends to spend time together and have a great time. Thank you AMF University staff for everything y all did for us and helping though the night. 5/5 stars from us.

I went there on Friday night and left my card at the desk. They brings me my card back an hour later.I gets home to check my account and the charged my card from Uber Eats. The next day they sent themselves $100.Tried to take more but I stopped it before they could get anymore.I contacted the supposedly GM that said he was there Friday night.Didn’t try to hear me out.Just told me I needed to contact my bank because his employees wouldn’t do that.Either he know something or he did it HIMSELF.I know it had to be someone from there. It was my 13yr old card and I had just called the card to activate it.I didn’t stop one place before pulling up to AMF Bowling alley on Tryon. All I got to say is..It’s a thief in that place.I bet you lose more than what was stolen..God don’t like Ugly!!

My family traveled to this center for youth travel league. It was a bit chaotic at first due to a new system with their lanes. The biggest disappointment was the lack of service received in the food service area. After waiting 30 minutes in line behind 4 orders the lady stopped taking orders to do something else like the line was not long enough. When I told her that I've been waiting a long time and only wanted to purchase 4 drinks, the response was NOT indicative of great customer service. It did not help that when she finally took my order, those 4 drinks were $17.28. I have never paid $4 for a 20 oz. Gatorade! This is highway robbery. Our family was going to bowl after the tournament but chose not to because of the level of service we experienced thus far.

After a long absence from bowling, I decided to take the plunge and get back into it. I needed the exercise and this is comfortable.-Air conditioned, clean bathrooms and snacks. I purchased a ball and shoes from the pro shop and the young man was very helpful when I was choosing my ball and shoes. He was able to drill the holes for my ball right there but had to order my shoes. I have been here about five times to bowl and during the day, which hasn't been crowded. I suspect that will change once school vacation starts. I purchased the summer pass which is an AWESOME deal. The staff has been friendly and the place has had some upgrades during my long break. The French fries are great.

Worst experience in my life! The place looked like very dirty and there were no servers at all! I was in a group of four people and we wanted to get just 4 cokes. The result? I was third in the line and I literally waited 40 minutes to get my drinks. The lady was veeeeeery veeery slow. She needed 15 minutes PER PERSON to get the order. It was RIDICOLOUS! On top of that the lady was in the same time the cashier and the "cook" and to be honest with you, I don't think it was nice at all. What else? Well, 5 billiards on 6 were not working properly and not all of them had the white ball... It was the worst experience in Charlotte... No doubt at all.

  • Ritty Tith

The place was nice and all just like any other bowling alley but the experience was different. My brother got injured by one of the bowling balls. The hole where you put your thumb in had a chipped rim, which gave it some edges and slice a good chunk of skin off his thumb. Injuries happen and all but what had me was when we went to ask for a bandaid, one of the staff said they ran out. Ended our game early so we could get him treated. ‍♂️‍♂️‍♂️Must of been alot of Injuries happening or something for them to run out I guess.

I always love coming here at the AMF University Lanes. I try to go on Mondays after 7 pm as they have the weekly special "Monday Mayhem" which costs $12.27 per person inclusive of tax and shoe rentals and you get to play unlimited number of games until they close! Besides these, they have a standard menu for their Lane side Cafe service. You place the order at the cafe and they serve the food at your lane side table. The food seems to be a bit expensive than average. I would recommend people living in the area to give it a try.

  • Red Johnson

Service was horrendous.... couldn't order food because the one guy grilling couldn't work the register.... the bartender was the current manager who wasn't good at bartending reading off a sheet to make drinks(I had a single beer).... and to rent a lane we had to fight to be seen standing directly in front of employeeS who never addressed us. I don't care how loyal your core crowd or neighborhood is ... I just feel no business should be able to exist with this poor display of management and customer service.

  • Tyler Haas

This may be one of the worst experiences I’ve had in an alley in a very long time. 1) The pricing for games and shoes (if you need them) are doubled to surrounding area locations. 2) There was no oil on the lanes, and as a competitive bowler it was very apparent the lanes had not been oiled in multiple days. 3) The place was not clean at all. Carpet older than myself was dark and dirty, and there was a physical toenail on lane I was bowling on. There is a future for this sport; however, it’s not here.

  • flanders98

The alley was very nice and we had a good time. Unfortunately there was one person to do everything. No one at the bar, no one at concession, just a manager at front desk. He was nice enough, but I ordered a beer, it came 10 min later and was warm as can be. Went to get another and after 30 min of waiting finally just went back to ask for my money back. Not a deal breaker, just kinda sucked, wanted a beer with my bowling. Would go back again just hope they have more people working next time.

  • Leedog Day

I bowled there when it was North 29 lanes.. bowled my first sanctioned 300 game there in 1983 .. this was when a 190 average was top of the league bowling averages.. It was a fun center to bowl at and I'm sure it's even better than before now.. Good bowling everyone...... 5 is better than 4... I use to work at a machine shop behind the alleys, I see it's no longer there. I also seen that George Pappas sold Park lanes but that was some years ago.. he was a wonderful friend of mine...

  • Felicia King

We attend this place on Sunday, 7/2. The food was decent, our bowling balls kept getting stuck, but eventually returned. The temperature was the absolute worse, there was no A/C in the facility, so by the time we bowled our second game we were dripping with sweat. A family friend asked the young lady giving out the shoes why there was no air on, and she said she couldn't turn it on, not sure what that meant. But it would be a great place to bowl if the A/C worked.

  • Angel Davis

Best day of my life. We had our gender reveal here and they did an awesome job. The general manger David was extraordinarily. He made sure we had everything; checked on us consistently. Diamond one of the servers kept the food/drinks coming. The crew took there time to paint the pins to reveal the gender of the sex. The whole set-up was just unexpected. We had the times of our lives. We came on a Saturday and will attend again.

  • Paige Tait

My son had a Birthday party here yesterday!! All I can say is it was amazing. They went above and beyond my expectations. They were very accommodating making sure we had everything we needed. I didn’t have to chase down anyone for anything plenty of food and drinks!! Very clean and the staff was amazing. Thank to all that made Zach’s 15th bday party a hit!! Shout out to Tyler who was wonderful. Thanks lady ur awesome!!

  • K Morehead

Bowling was fine, the concession not so much. And there was no issues with the guy working the stand, honestly he did an excellent job. However, they needed more than 1 person. Waited 20 minutes in line just to be told he had a birthday party to prepare for; so it would be another 25 minutes. Went back and waited again for 10-15 minutes and finally got my food. Took an hour, and it only took him 5 minutes to prepare

  • Miz Wright

I mean, sure you can bowl, but you might also want counter staff to know what is going on, how to set up a lane, or be able to assist you. I haven't had that be true when I've visited this location - after we were assigned a lane, it took 20 minutes to get the scoring station reset... And another 10 to confirm that they told us to be in that lane to begin with. Pass on to another alley or form of entertainment.

  • Jen Amano

We played a couple games tonight and it was a great experience, but the best part was the employee who served us up at the desk. She was so pleasant and told us all about the deals that take place on different days of the week. If we had more time we would have taken advantage of the unlimited bowling solely because she sold it so well. Gotta show appreciation for the exceptional staff and she was one of them!

  • Tracy Duncan

Really nice atmosphere. I lived in Charlotte all my life and I can see they are really trying to make this bowling alley nicer. The parking lot is shared with the Latin club so it gets crowded at night. The old pool table area has video games now. Drinks were pretty good. The bartender was a very nice young man. He was knowledge and he did a great job handling the drinks our party group was ordering.

  • B “Brendon” Owens

Bowling here is really fun and cheap too. They always have deals because the food is SO expensive for a bowling alley. But it's ok because the bowling is really cheap and they always have deals. Staff is always nice without fake smiles. They are really kind and helpful. Don't be fooled by the outside. It's big. They have 30 lanes and a few pool tables, a bar, a restaurant, and it's not cramped.

  • jacob wall

It was the perfect family bowling experience we were looking for, we had tried other places but they were all really expensive and gimmicky. This place wasn't too crowded, had a great atmosphere, fairly cheap, only about $35 for two people all night bowling and a $5 arcade card. Plus they had the best Pizza I have ever had, it's strange to say my favorite pizza place is a bowling alley.

  • Bobby Tarte

Great for get togethers with friends had a great time. This place has new equipment which is great. The bar is excellent but the food can use some help. I don't expect great food at a bowling alley but thus food is terrible. Having said that I had a lot of fun at this place. Beware though late nights in weekends the atmosphere tends to change. The crowd gets younger so just beware.

  • paul Duncan

Hey, not only was the attendant very courteous, he doubled down as the BARTENDER!! HE was awesome! Going back and forth and checking with everyone patron bowling at the time, I gained a higher level of respect for this location for their great customer service skills and being short handed that gets tough! We thank you and that's what keeps us coming back to this Location!

  • Roy Mcgrath

I go here pretty regularly, we ALWAYS get 2 lanes side by side for league style bowling. However, last night John refused, said because it’s a holiday weekend. So we got one lane, bowled 3 games and NOBODY bowled in the lane next to us! There were SEVERAL lanes unattended. I would post pics as proof if I could. This place is going downhill. Take care of your regulars.

  • bobby crump

Bar tender by the pool tables was awesome kind and very helpful... The cook was awful rude and not helpful at all also she was rude and the food was nasty... The lanes were crowded and no guidelines were in use to keep safe from covid-19 and the bathrooms were disgusting that's definitely my last time going there! They've changed so much... And not for the better!

  • Rakesh Nara

Decent place for family fun with or without kids. Purchased 2 hours of game including shoe rental at groupon for $53 for 6 people. They accepted at front desk and we got spot pretty fast during Saturday at 5 PM, Front desk answers calls pretty fast and responses were friendly. You can also get food here and decent amount of free car parking outside

  • Hit Patil

There are so many bowling lanes, which is good if you are a large group and want to play together in adjacent lanes. Except for the shoe rent, which is high, they dont allow our shoes even if they are suitable for bowling, which is diassapointing; everything is good and the food was great. It's definitely worth trying this for some fun.

  • Annabella Neko

Friendly staff, fun atmosphere and overall a good time! The prices are to be expectedly up there, 3 adults played 4 games plus rented shoes for $82, but awesome for a nice night with friends and family. My mother wanted to bowl for her birthday and we didn't have to wait at all to get a lane and start bowling after 5p on a Saturday.

  • Brandon Lampley

Concession staff is consistently under staffed, service is very slow. Employees are doing the best they can but have three registers (1 staff) over 20 lanes (1 manager) a food shack (2 staff) plus a bar, pool tables. They are stretched too thin and don't get paid enough. Its great place to go however, eat before you come.

  • Sharon Doggett

There didn't seem to be enough employees to effectively take care of the number of patrons using the facility, so there were long wait times. Otherwise, the staff was friendly, the food was good and the bowling alley was clean. Our party, which consisted of adults, teens and children, enjoyed themselves!

  • Giovanni Kyler

Had a fun time, the place felt a little understaffed, and the jukebox is broken, there is also no puck for the table hockey. But the pool was good. At the end of the day that comes down to the people I was with. But it is a bowling alley and we never did the bowling so take this with a grain of salt.

  • Elegance Radiance

Oh my goodness! This was the best time my family had in a long time. The staff here was so nice. They helped us have a great family day. The place was so clean and it smelled so great. The restrooms was sanitized very well. We felt so comfortable there. AMF on North Tryon is my go to place for fun!!

  • Jackie Galvez

Bad experience. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE. Too expensive and I will not be coming back. Employees were rude and when I ordered a cocktail from the bar the bartender made it with no alcohol… I suggest checking out Frankie’s Fun Park or the bowling alley in Lake Wylie, they provide great service!

  • Rafay Khan

Good experience. Went on a Friday night using a Groupon. We didn't have any issues. Giving it a 4 star rating because the ball selection could've been better. Also some of the Televising was not family friendly but it wasn't really noticeable. The noise level was very low. The lighting was nice.

  • Brittany Jackson

I just celebrated my twins birthday party there and it was amazing. The kids and the parents had a great time. The staff was very nice and helpful, attentive to all of our party needs. I definitely recommend this place for parties the food was good too. We also enjoy the summer program too.

  • Mickey Henderson

Bowling great. Staff impatient. Was quoted $6.50 to 9.50 to bowl. Asked which price would I pay. Was told I would get a total when I finished bowling. An hour later at checkout I was charged the $9.50 per game. When I asked why the only answer they gave was," That's what the computer says.

  • Reggie Tokarski

Super fun atmosphere. Short staffed but understandable. Came in a group of 7 with 2 Designsted Drivers. Was told that we were getting cut off after ordering 4 pitchers. We were there around 4 p.m. We would have stayed for at least another game, but felt like we were getting shuffled out.

  • Estelle Jenkins

This is an older bowling alley, but it is a fun place. The food is good and the staff is friendly and attentive. The prices for bowling and food are really affordable. We will definitely return. Great family outing for a low price. I added pics of the promotions and the food we ate.

  • Natalie Madison

I loved it!! It was clean. The shoes were clean, comfortable and new. They had arcade games as well. I went in the morning. I didn't see any food. That was the only thing I didn't like. There was no food. They have several leagues going on and the prices are good. I will go again.

  • Tracy Williams

The facility is old, torn carpet, chipped bowling balls. The bumpers are always up, tried to take them off, the computer wouldn't let us. The prices are wwaayyy to high.. They charge per person instead of by hour. Online it looks great but in person something else. NEVER AGAIN...

  • Blake Hyatt

I'd give it 5 for bowling but a lot of drinks had nats/flies in it and it didn't seem like the dishes were even washed. It kind of turned our stomachs because we had just finished nachos before noticing flies in the drinks and pitchers. Would not recommend food or drinks here

  • Danny Guerra

Walked in with a group, unaware they are going to be having a tournament that day. Of course the white guy just starts being rude telling us there's absolutely no space for us, blah blah blah. Unnecessary behavior and needs to check his white privele. Just go bowl else where

  • April T.

I haven't bowled in years. I had so much fun and I had several strikes during the time there. We played about 4 games. The other patrons and bowling alley workers were pretty cool. They have some good deals on games. I didn't order any food, but the game was great. Had fun.

  • A Ready

Just standard.. had some trouble with pins dropping on our lane. Used to frequent here and even did a league at one time. If you're looking for a place to bowl and that's it. This is your place. They have food, drink and some other amenities but everything is a bit dated.

  • B White

Best time to go is right when they open on a Saturday. Less people and can social distance better. They should enforce wearing masks the entire time though. And they should put up sanitizer stations at the lanes. That way customers can sanitize after each use of the balls

  • tytysouth29

Love coming to this place, especially while family are visiting. Food and drinks are great here. Only con is that sometimes, depending on the nights, it can be too overcrowded and may seem uncomfortable especially since there's not much room or space between other lanes.

  • Rob Fink

AC was broken and they had a line almost out the door. Saw two workers talking by an open computer while this was going on. The group next to us had their balls stuck in the lane and waited half an hour on help. Our lane broke down as well. Steer clear of this place.

  • Bun with Gun

I unironically appreciate that y'all just show music videos from the early 2010s. Along with the neon/strobe light aesthetic y'all have going on, it makes me nostalgic in a good way. Please never remodel! Although y'all could be a little cleaner and less pricey..

  • Wayne E Bough

It was a Grandkid day, and while expensive as always the individuals serving us made it special. From Joe on down, the staff made every effort to make it exceptionally special. Thank you Day and Night Manager your follow up care and concern made our day.

  • Becky Hapeman

Decent place for corporate end of day fun function. Plenty of space to spread out with normal business still going on. Front desk answers calls pretty fast and responses were friendly. You can get food here and decent amount of free car parking outside

  • Bill Hogan

Enjoyed a family night out, just the Adults. Had a great time and the games heated up as we kept playing. The only issue was the long wait at the bar, it broke my rhythm and stopped our game a couple of times other than that great time. …

  • Caleb Canipe

We switched to the University location after using Charlotte area center for months. Im mad I waited so long to make the switch. This location is so much better. The staff is very laid back and accommodating, and the lanes are well maintained.

  • Fokion Hatzopoulos

This bowling alley had some pool tables and a bar on the side. The bowling was just an average Experience with the whole system being a bit out dated. The bar area looked nice and would bump this to a 3 1/2 star since it's more then just a

  • Capitola Godslight

This was outstanding I took my daughter we are new to Charlotte and it was very friendly, safe food was amazing we got the cauliflower and the pretzel with cheese. They turned off the lights they had enough of the bowling balls for us to

  • Debra Stacks

It was a fun time at this bowling alley. Staff was pleasant, appetizers were delicious. It was a 45 minute wait for a lane but there were other things to do while we waited. In summation it was a fun time and I would recommend this place.

  • Gregory Jones

Really enjoyed my time here very spacious typical overpriced food but nice bar also. This location is my go to I definitely recommend. It can get crowded though some days if you don’t like crowds be sure to check the day before going

  • Celestial

This is a great place for good customer service and lots of fun and clean. A bar and pool tables add to the list of good times you can have here. The food is good but a bit to pricey for me. But still an enjoyable place to have fun.

  • Thomas BamBam Collins III

We received good service from the staff that was working tonight. It has been a few years since we've bowled at this location and had a not so pleasant experience. It was a clean, nice environment and great time with the family.

  • Jake Ray

Way too expensive and bad service also the music was way too loud to have a conversation bad first date spot if your trying to get to know someone. I played 3 games and bought some chicken tenders and fries and paid 85$ crazy

  • Sean L

I would describe this as your typical bowling alley. I bowled a couple games and I was shocked that it was more expensive that I expected. It was nothing fancy but they had a friendly staff and the place was relatively clean.

  • Drew

Had a group event here with people from my office. July was a great hostess and took good care of us. The food was hot and kept coming. A great place for a group outing. Oh and bowling was a lot of fun too! Will be back.

  • Michelle V.

Lane trouble and lack of services. Too pricey too. Place was dark and dim. See receipt for 3 people playing just 2 games. This was my first and last time there. I was charged per person per game(6 games) THAT MUCH SMH.

  • Eric Baptist

The staff was SUPER AWESOME! My Leadership Students and parents went and they made us feel like VIP's. The lanes were very good too. I am going too keep coming back now because it is a great place for family and fun.

  • Kendra Johnson

It wasn't bad. You can tell the facility has been there a while. My kids and I enjoyed it until our lane froze up or something and they took forever to come and reset it. We just left and we had like 5-6 more sets.

  • Erica Dantzler

I was here for a Women's Nationals Tournament. The staff that I encountered was very courteous. The house was clean. The bar and food bar was great as well. I have no complaints about the house at all. …

  • Cordelia Holland

Friendly staff, small selection of lower weight bowls under 10lbs. Was clean but not spotless. Shoes were decent. Would recommend as number one spot in Charlotte for bowling but still good place to go bowl.

  • Reanna Walls

Place was great! Had a very old school feel that reminded me of bowling as a kid in the 90’s. Will definitely be back :) warning the AC doesn’t seem to work great, something to keep in mind for hot days.

  • Johanna Quinonez

I like it it usually has a crowd great music you have a good time staff is nice but they can be better. Some arguments infront of us which made it a bit uncomfortable. Other than that we had a good time

  • Lillian Santiago

It was nice but need table and chair set up in pool area if anyone want to drink and chat with friends instead of bowling. The table I wish to see is short and tall table. Some people can't sit high.

  • Elizabeth Gonzalez

Always a great time!! From birthday celebrations to just hanging out with friends it's always great fun, good food, and an overall great experience!!! Definitely will be back!! Again and again!!

  • Samantha Jacobo

We got a lane pretty quickly on a Tuesday night. The girls behind the desk were really nice. And the employees stayed past closing so we could finish our game. Would definitely go there again.

  • Sherita Mckeever

The staff was nice but he stunk really badly and there was some unhoused people laying on the steps outside. The inside was also dirty but nevertheless my family had a good time bowling.

  • Terri Schmidt

We had a Christmas office party for a group of 9. We had a wonderful time. Everything was great from the bowling, food/drinks, and customer service. We will for sure be back.

  • dedeaustin14

Fun adult night with great friends! No drama, food was good, drinks were Bomb! It was. Good amount of people there. Bowling was fun! Next time we gonna hit the pool tables.

  • Tyler Dunphy

Great lanes, and the balls actually hook pretty decent! The worker, Taylor, was very nice and helpful! Very kind, great customer service. I would love to come back!

  • April Walker

We got there right at 1:00 Sunday when they opened. Everyone was SO NICE! The whole facility is super clean and service was outstanding. We’ll definitely be back!

  • Ms Greenthumb Entertainment

I frequent this bowling alley and it's everything it's supposed to be. The lanes are great, and the bowling is super affordable with my military discount.

  • Chanel Terry

Crowded but fun. Just didn't like how long the drink & food lines were. Didn't get a drink or food the whole time we were there (3hrs) lines were so long.

  • Ashley Sierra Jones

The inside is clean and the atmosphere is friendly. The music that is played is contemporary pop music. When I was there it was pop from the 2010s.

  • Rob Turner

We were provided with excellent customer service this past Monday. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting some family friendly outings.

  • Pascha Belnavis

Great spot! Low key and fun for the kids. Could use a bit of sprucing up and more activities on the arcade side. It's still a fun place to go.

  • Enasha Bradshaw

I had fun with my family. I didn't get food or use to the restroom, so my rating does not include anything like that because I don't know.

  • Ms Flow

Had a blast meet some great peoples! Lots lol bartender needs to RESTOCK THOU …

  • Derek DellaRova

The last standing classic bowling alley in charlotte. All the others cost an arm and a leg and don't have that classic atmosphere

  • Albert

I personally didn’t like it, either the timing was bad or they were short staff or whatever but it was just bad in my opinion

  • Stephanie Miller

Nice lanes. Clean and well kept. My only complaint is that their prices are a little too high for me for non-special events.

  • Glory Talbott

A fun and down to earth place. If you go late there's often one price for unlimited bowling. They have delicious mai tais.

  • Alice Chisholm

Great place to have fun, however I was charged a fee I didn't make the Management is still giving me the run around.

  • Cynthia Reyes

Decent location near the university. Played good music, but the pool tables are gone. Small arcade available.

  • Adam Hutchins

A bit too pricey, and sub par service at the front desk and kitchen. nice lanes but could use better balls

Friendly staff! Helped my 90 year old father find an appropriate ball and he bowled a 130.

  • Michelle Catchings

We were visiting the area and all the family met up and bowled here and it was wonderful.

  • Alexis Brunson

If only it had booths near the lanes instead of bar stools but otherwise a nice alley!

  • Sue E

All was great except for not cleaning areas that had been vacated, but food was left.

  • Latoya Byers

Had a ball on my date it wasn't to busy and they have a bar and games as well
