UPDATE: 2/21 DON'T GO ON WEDNESDAY when the female doctor is there Dr.Odet Kaspari by far the worst vet DR we have met. She gave our female Italian Masstiff another rabies vaccines 6 months early and claimed she never received. I even asked her if she could double check her chart and said there was nothing there. Went home and found my dogs vet records and she in fact already had her rabies shot went back and receptionist was able to find the paper work. Also Off the bat she was scared of our dogs. A lot was happening in that tiny room and she should have allowed us to all get situated and really communicated with us all. My dogs are used to being at different vets and they felt vet uncomfortable with her. They were fine with the vet tech who was more comfortable with my dogs. Overall do not recommend the female doctor definitely needs to be more confident around large breed dogs. Great Place to take your fur friend, I will admit that it is not the greatest smelling facility and there should be an emphasis in making sure the hospital looks and smells clean but overall they did a great job with my dogs dental care, she had 7 teeth extracted and teeth cleaning done, her breath smells amazing and I wish I would had given the guy a tip but it slipped my mind but he did a great job and he had to endure an awful smell from my dogs breath ! The pricing was great when comparing to other vets and I appreciated the staff working with us and answering all of our questions and providing copies of my dog's paper work ! Overall a good experience! One main thing that was upsetting was how the staff is treated by customers as it makes the staff feel more tense and unappreciated. The staff has to deal with all kinds of temperaments not only from the animals but the people as well. It's a small hospital with affordable prices which brings a lot of clients so sometimes they may be busy trying to tend to everyone and their needs so please try to show appreaction for the staff and be patient as it is not an easy job / it is a walk in clinic. Thank you for caring for Stormy

I worked for Dr. Salah Saleh, I had to quit based on ethical reasons. The final straw was when the owner of a Shar-Pei dog that had a C section on an emergency basis the night before. Dr Saleh stitched up this large dog with cat gut which is only for small wounds on small animals. The owner brought her in because the stitching was starting to come apart. Dr told the owner to leave her and he will fix it. The animal hospital had been pretty slow lately so when a couple new clients came in he wanted to tend to them first. I told him 3 times he needed to stitch the Shar-Pei up. He didn’t listen and the dog gested meaning her guts fell out. The animal hospital had a ton of blood streaming all over. He told the client his dog died of a flea infestation. This was a very well cared for dog, there was no flea infestation. The second thing that was going on at the same time was a cat was brought in who had been shot on his left shoulder. Upon X-ray it was discovered the cat had been shot in the other shoulder too but that bb had been there for a long and healed without consequence. When he did surgery to remove the recent bb he dug in with his fingers but could not reach the bb. So he opened up the other side and removed that bb. He did that so he could tell the owner he removed a bb. So this poor cat now had 2 different surgery sites that needed to heal. She had to bring the cat in every 3 days to change the dressings. This poor women spent well over $2000.00 and this was over 30 years ago when prices were much less than they are now. Dr Salah was an incompetent vet then and he is an incompetent vet now. I’m warning you if you let your animal out of your sight with this vet you are literally risking your pets life.

The place needs a facelift. It’s chaotic when you get there. There is a tiny parking lot so you have to park in the street. You wait for a long time. They definitely need to work in their customer service at the from t desk. Also, they have you do all this extra stuff that is not necessary. I explicitly said I didn’t want the urine test, just the blood. Why? Because my cat was yellow and usually it’s the liver and that what is tested in that situation. They insisted it was connected. Guess what? The urine came up negative and the blood showed he had a damaged liver. My goal was to get to the actual problem. I ended paying for antibiotics for his gums, B12 shot and Urine test, which have nothing todo with his condition. I had this same issue with another cat years ago. My husband is the one that took him in so they kept insisting even after we said no. It felt like they just wanted to get as much money out of it as possible. Then they wanted to keep him for observation with IV plus X-ray and ultrasound. Why? Again all he needs is the X-ray/ultrasound to get to the real problem. All this extra stuff is not needed in the moment. It’s just disheartening. All I wanted was to get my cat help. It’s just to much money. Non profit places don’t do this but I couldn’t get an appointment. Do your research, ask if it is needed and tell them I just want todo what is completely needed in this moment. I can’t afford this.

I waited for 4 hours to be seen, and I was the 3rd person in line! I was there for a total of 4 1/2 hours. You are not allowed to go back with your dog. I did not get to speak to the vet that examined her or whoever it was, but spoke to a man in a wheelchair that the techs passed all the records to for him to read, then enturpret, then explain to the owner of the dog. He had no idea why she was having diarrhea and gave me 3 different scenarios, which I had already contemplated. He had no idea what was wrong with her arm, or where her arm was painful, or why she was limping. I'm just so glad I brought a fecal sample for testing! This gave me an answer! He told me exactly what and how to feed her, which I was already doing to a T. He did prescribe antibiotics and gabapentin for her arm. He wanted me to come back for a follow-up next week. I can't imagine going through that long wait again or for my dog. It was grooling. We had to wait inside since I don't have a car, but my dog did very well under the circumstances.

RIP my beautiful girl. 1-8-23 On August 20th, 2022, We brought our sweet girl here after discovering a lump under her arm and wanted to get it checked out immediately. We expressed our concerns to the staff before they took her back. They ended up only doing bloodwork and sent us home with a urine cup to collect and return. The lump was never addressed durin our visit and we were told we would get lab results in a week or so. (Dr. Salah left a voicemail a whole month later September 22nd, 2022, and never mentioned anything about the lump). Two days later September 24th, 2022 we took her to a different vet, that actually examined her and discovered 7 lumps. They did labs and gave us her results 5 days later. She did in fact have cancer, Lymphoma. Miss Harley started her steroids, chemotherapy, and after almost 3 months, couldn’t fight that battle anymore. She passed away peacefully at home on January 8th, 2023 I will miss you forever

This is a no-frills community veterinarian- Do not expect a Beverly Hills vet. They are affordable and to the point. However, all the staff truly cares about what they do, and it shows. Things to know- They do not take appointments, it is on a first come, first serve basis. You must get there early before opening to put your name on the list to be seen. If your animal needs to schedule a surgery, you can schedule that after your initial appointment. -Have your cell phone charged, you maybe asked to wait outside while waiting to be seen. There is only one doctor on staff, so depending what you need done, you may be waiting a long time. Be patient, they will call you. I recommend having something to do and snacks. -There is a cat santuary/retirement center on site. Super cute! I have recommended this place to others after being recommended here myself. I just wanted to share some tips that I wish. I knew before coming here the first time.

Edit: been there three times since. As long as youre not getting a spay/neuter the service is great and affordable. It also helps to call to find out how long the line is too! Previous Review: I don’t usually write reviews, but i had to this time. Even though I had set up an appointment, I came early to get serviced. I was the second person on line and dropped off my dog at 8am. They told me to come back at 4:30 to pick her up. I get a call at 3:43 telling me there was an emergency and the vet had to leave so no surgery was performed. Emergencies happen but why am I getting informed mere hours before I was supposed to pick her up. They were clearly understaffed so I don’t understand why they didn’t just take less customers or inform us ahead of time. This is extremely unprofessional. Lord knows what the dogs were just doing for 7hrs.

I moved into the Jefferson Park neighborhood in 2011, just about when this animal hospital opened. I have 3 dogs and through the years, I have been here many times; some angry visits and some very happy visits. Dr Salah is a great vet and the staff are basic and adequate. My experience with Tanya and Ernesto have always been better as I know them from my years of coming here. Their cost is still one of the best in LA and they do have a lot of "patients", more than what they can accommodate sometimes. So for those of you who think your business is so great bla bla bla, go somewhere else and be happier elsewhere with higher prices you pay. Thank you Dr Salah, Tanya and Ernesto for all your help!

Dont bring your pet here I took my dog to get neuter at 7am. 2:30pm I called because I haven't heard from no one I call no nobody answered the phone I text no response when I get up there they tell me the are just now doing the surgery after he has been there since 7am this morning and told me to come back in a hour I come back a hour later and they ask me for permission to do CPR on him. They come back and tell me his is stable and they did not have to perform cpr but he needs medical care if we take him to emergency it would cost $8000 how did this all happen when he was only supposed to get is neuter. The end of the story my dog is died . He came in healthy now he is died.

  • rex enoch enkidu

They took very good care of my dog. Everyone I interacted with was very kind and professional, including the front desk person who was especially sweet. Dr. Saleh met with me after my dog's surgery and explained everything I needed to do as part of the after care. I truly do not understand anyone on here complaining about being charged $40 for a cone or having to wait a long time. If you want to save money on a cone, bring your own. If you don't want to wait, go somewhere else. A procedure done here cost less than $500 where as other places it would have cost $1000-$2000..

Don't bring your pets here. First of all they don't have appointments. It's a first come first serve appt. They only take like the first 6 pets . Nothing is guaranteed. They make you wait either in your car or in the alley . Be prepared to wait all day . Bring a chair and bring food, snacks and treats for your dog. Prices are affordable but I rather pay the extra for my dog to be guaranteed to be seen and receive the treatment that he needs.

  • Ms. Sotelo

In my experience, The doctor here is very knowledgeable and caring with our pets and took the time to talk to us and answer all out questions. The staff here are young but very helpful. And their order of service works. You sign in and they give you an estimated time of when you will be seen and they call you when you are next so if you live neat by this makes it easier to go back home take care of some things and may your way back.

  • Miss MumMum

I was told by the Dr that an aid was going to call me about my cat on a day when they were closed. I never got a call, and my cat laid on a cold slab for a whole day by herself. I was sad because I was worried and mad that I did not get the call. Unfortunately, my cat did not survive. So far, it's not a great experience. But the lady at the front "Tonya" is awesome and makes you feel like she cares. I appreciate her assistance. ❤️

  • Good Barber

I went in to take my dog today and he was very sick I waited patiently until they opened at 1:30, I was the 4th person in line waiting it was about a hour wait until I was seen then finally once I got seen they took my dog in the room came back out and said they are about to close and the test is going to take too long. Once I arrived back home I put my dog in his bed came back and my dog was dead

Front desk doesn’t know whether they’re standing or sitting. They tell you to come and then keep you waiting for hours. Or they’ll casually tell you come back in 4 hours AFTER you called beforehand. Place stinks and is a dump. If you bring your pet to this disorganized mess, be prepared to take the day off work. Zero consideration of your time. ‘Oh can you come back at 2pm?’ No

  • J Martinez

You call and ask about the wait they lie to get you in. No matter what your waiting a minimum of 4 hrs. The vet is in a wheel chair and can barely see (the one I saw) nickel and dime you when they are clueless about your dogs current health concern. Very mediocre at best. If you can wait, I would. Or pay double to see a compassionate vet THAT CAN SEE!

  • sam garcia

Do not visit this place. They are unorganized and care very little for pets. I arrived at 2pm and checked in only to have them tell me at 4:50pm that the Vet was leaving and they would not be able to see me and if I could come back in the morning. Really I spent 3 hours waiting for them to tell me to come back tomorrow. That's B.S

  • rosie mendez

Every time I go I always have a good experience....UNTIL, I brought one of my dog here and was told to go home with my suffering dog...finally, they said to go to the emergency room until 3days later, where my dog unfortunately passed, they are listed as a hospital but didn't help my dog. Won't be coming back.

  • Juan Garcia

Was good. Some of the nurses were a bit rude but most of them great. The doctor was excellent. He told me to come back in a week see if my pet was doing better and he tried to explain most of the things the it needed to be done. So I'm happy with it right now. We'll see how my cat improves but thank you.

  • Gwen Smith

I came here with my dog on 7/9/22 for my dog who came on 6/24 for an exam and dog have not been herself since. I have yet to be call and other people came in after me have seen the seen the doctor and left. I came at 1:45 and it's 4:01 still have not been called. Wow!! What kind of service is this.

  • Jose Flores

This place is there for the money and not the health of your pet. Overall bad experience, waited all day just for the vet to say he has to leave in 10 minutes and to go to a more expensive animal hospital. The front desk has zero knowledge of what they’re doing and very poor work ethic.

  • Peytton Bagwell

The employees at this place saved me from a world of panic. They were so sweet and attentive to what I needed for my pet and were willing to help with everything to make the process easier. I love love love this staff and how they took care of us!

  • Ana Trujillo

Came early with my mom's pet Lucerito, good thing we were the 2nd to arrive and wait for them to open. They open at 8 and after that the first 3 online went in to sign and then one of the staff member said they call us by phone . Took a

This is worst places you will get service, staff at front is rude and racist. I was told they are 5 people head of me and wait for hour and saw people that came in behind us getting service head of me. After waiting for 1 hour went back to

  • MW

So I call them and they say they'll take a euthanasia need right in. I got a cat dying.. literally dying in my arms from old age. I get let in and get a clipboard shoved at me to sign in.. and I wait. And wait. And wait. 25 minutes later

  • Sadie Batres

Called to schedule an appointment for a neuter and the lady who answered the phone acted like I was bothering her. Lady: we are scheduling July 13. Me: ok do i just show up? Lady: (sighs) no You would need to schedule an appointment.

  • marla mary

As with any reasonably priced veterinarian there are pros and cons. Parking and waiting areas are limited, no appointments, it's on a first-come-first-serve emergency situation basis on who gets seen first. I've been going here for

  • Al Sierras

Good service, but when there is only one Doctor on duty, prepare yourself for a LONG wait. Very reasonable prices, too. The Receptionist/Employee Tina, is snappy at patrons, maybe she's overdue for retirement. …

  • Linda Benaddi

Love this place. Needed a health certificate to travel with my cat in Europe. They take walk in. They were very nice and helped me with the paperwork I needed. Will come back again!

  • Al Plichta

They botched my puppy. They left some gauze inside of her incision along with a huge ugly incision on her belly. Not gonna even mention the worst and the rudest service

  • Star B

I've had good visits and bad visits but I will be forever grateful that my big dog is still alive. Be prepared to wait and be kind when you communicate with the staff.

I LOVE ❤ ARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL. LOYAL CUSTOMER SINCE 2012. MY BABIES VET. T, OSCAR, SHAWN, VINCE, STEPHS SISTER, DR SALEH, AND THE NEW DOCTOR ARE AMAZONG AND FABULOUS

  • Chris Baker

Everyone was so kind. They care more about animals and people than they do about making an extra buck. They're my new veterinarians! Thanks, everyone!

  • Becky Hendricks

Thank you Dr. Paul for your compassion and caring. Much appreciated and would recommend him for anyone that needs a dog put down. So caring.

  • Joie Faciane

Best to get there early, this clinic fill up really fast, Dr. SALEAH and his staff ALL work together for the benefit of your babies …

  • Vennom Rides

Parking sucks first of all. Secondly the Dr. doesn't know anything about dogs and really don't see why there still in business.

  • Marni Angel Photo

Most compassionate doctors that might have ever exist. Price point reflected in that. I’ve never seen them deny service.

  • Maritza espino

They make u wait to long and the schedule is not what said on the board they open late Service is always good

  • Rita Smith

Vet was a very nice person, took care of my cat and gave me good advice.
