Very disappointed!!! Good environment, but staff are NOT well-trained. I am fist time here for the JP service and the staff only told me where to go but didn’t guide me to take the ticket. I was waiting in “Line” until others told me I need to grab a ticket to be in the queue. Totally wasting my time and at least two or three people cut in front of me. Bad bad bad!!! ———————————————————————— Good attitude and I am willing to change my rate from 1 to 4/5. I saw some staff are nice and guide people to take the ticket. Please ensure all staff are well-trained because this could happen on anyone. In order to prevent this from happen again!

Excellent library service and facilities, very nice staff. Rating would have been perfect if some clients, in the garden area particularly, are reminded every now and then to be considerate of others. Sometimes, some of them, are too loud, just laughing and talking so loud to the extend they create too much distraction. Library is a good place to mingle, to learn, and to meet other people but must be done while respecting other people and some people unfortunately need to be reminded.

Myself and my partner (we both have intellectual disabilities) got told off very rudely by the indian worker for drinking when we was nowhere near computers, manager was also very stubborn telling me about terms of entry when there is no signage or information displayed on the entrance or near the computers regarding drinks. We also requested to speak to the manager in a separate area but was rudely denied. Very unprofessional customer service and will never be coming back here again

Rundle Place, side lane, tucked away. Lift or stairs access to level 3. Staff are friendly and so helpful. Such a nice modern library, with a garden area - this library has all facilities and services for your needs. Computers, Printer, scanner, and also Justice of the Peace -no bookings required. It also has meeting / training rooms available. For a library it does get quite noisy so if you need some quiet time, this may not be the traditional library for silent reading time.

Modern facility and helphul staff. I visited 3-4 times last week but no luck in finding a place to use my own laptop. Most of the seats were already occupied by people who usually leave only by EOD. There are common PCs which are available for public for a short period of time. Print services are really cheap and scanning is free. Local people also has trouble finding long term parking in CBD anyway. So I think this library is very useful for overseas visitors and students.

Much more than your traditional library. There's lots of different spaces for studying, reading and meeting with friends. There's a Digital Hub for basic IT training, an Innovation Lab equipped with 3D printers and studios. They also run a bunch of events including a LEGO Club! You'll find the entrance off Francis St (off Rundle Mall) where you can either take the lift or get a bit of exercise and climb the stairs.

This place is where all the smells of Adelaide congregate and none of them nice. A library is meant to be welcoming and a place of study. Unfortunately it’s a place that resembles a homeless shelter and an odour of a toilet. The staff are extremely rude here and seem to encourage anti social behaviour. Avoid this library and visit the state library for a more hygienic experience..

Great library to escape the bustle of Rundle Mall. Has an amazing outdoor area to study or read. Best Internet speed out of all the library's I've tried if you use the dedicated "Internode" WiFi network! Wish the library had more powered areas/desks for using your own computers as there is only really 1 table with 4 places to access easily accessible power.

  • hannah rogers

really amazing resources. i walked right by it when i was first trying to find it (it’s down the side street with big signs) the staff here are so kind and helpful. the place was pretty busy when i went (on a friday afternoon) they have printers and plug ins, free wifi that seems to be unlimited and computers you can login and use even without a lib card

  • Anne

Lots of vacant solo spaces if you really want a quiet table they also have private study rooms about 3 and 1 room for music students. Free wifi is strong but it will automatically log your mobile or laptop after every hour There's also common sink to refill your hot water bottle or cold water. Female restrooms have 3 cubicle, 1 ambulant cubicle

It's a friendly place to go visit, everyone is welcomed!! They have days where kids can build Lego!! You can charge your mobiles or portable charger for free and bring your own hot coffee or tea or water while you wait for them to finish charging up!! A very nice place to visit and very warm on winter days!

  • Nilushka Chirantha

Great selection and friendly staff. Plenty of room for study, even with Covid-19 restrictions there's alot of sitting space avaliable. However, tables with plug access for laptops is limited. There's even a balcony area for study. A JP service is avaliable from Monday to Saturday (times vary).

  • Sabina Fernandes

Staff are always happy to assist and guide, facilities of printing and scanning are amazing. Book collection is quite up to date and well maintained. Outlet has many reading spaces and quite zones to get your work completed. Love this place and the ppl that assist. Thank you

  • Ada W.

The staff there is very welcoming and friendly that makes me stay longer often. I also like the way they put the furniture especially the chairs. A little bit of misalignment in direction creates so much privacy for every spot. It's a little hidden gem in the city.

  • Robert Salmoni

Great experience. The Microsoft Word software was updated unlike the State Library on North Terrace where the WINWORD.EXE program happened to be disabled, not to mention the fact the entire IT team was too busy with another project to address the issue.

  • Edward Nguyen

This place is just incredible and very suitable for people who love reading and it also provide board games, newspapers as well as computers to use. Furthermore, a various of books for everyone waiting for you. Staff are very lovely and helpful as well

  • Jason Kasewieter

Great place for a quiet read. They have a boiling water tap, so you can bring your own coffee and tea, and sit enjoying a cuppa and a good book for an afternoon. There are also plenty of places to plug in your devices for charging or simply to use.

  • Chris Maitland

My 4 year old can spend hours here. And with Rundle Mall down stairs, the rest of the family doesn't mind. We like to come here to colour in, play board games and, of course, get new and favourite books to read. There's plenty of space for

  • Christian del pozo

I really like this library, almost in the center, have a very nice staff and many options to read . You can use the computer and also they have rooms availables if you wanna bring your own laptop and start doing some research or if you

  • Rachel Thannhauser

Nice facilities, but not enough decks with power outlets to use. Also one of the loudest libraries I’ve ever seen - people FaceTiming, kids screaming and loud conversations - what happened to libraries being a place of peace and quiet?!

  • John Croucher

One of the ladies saw that we were looking around and came over to see if she could help. I told her what needed and she sorted it out for me straight away. She was very friendly and helpful and I appreciated what she did.

  • Arien Sandercock

It's a very nice place, with many things more than books, such as 3d printers, instruments, video and photo editing and recording areas. The only problem is that there aren't many tables to sit at. Otherwise, very nice.

  • Fiona Balnaves

Eye-opening experience in City Library: like the voice-over says watch ur gear No seriously the Staff are 80% friendly & helpful & there are so many interesting spots to cool-off with WiFi during Summer …

  • Christian Paleka

Library needs to fix there hot water system and coffee machine. At other libraries you have access to hot water and there coffee machines work. This place needs improvement. Fix those and your 5 stars to me.

  • Yu Utsu (地瓜粥狗)

Greatest ADL library I’ve been so far. Free and fast wifi, many separated room and tidy facilities. However noise reduction earphones is required because it will be a bit noise when there’s many kids

  • Sena Koga

Many programs to join and play with, especially in LEGO and Technology sort of stuffs. Also lots of Japanese novels you can borrow. Sometimes library is too laud, or some stinky homeless people:(

  • BangDroid

Very spacious, could do with more seating. So much to offer. They have workshops and labs, far from just a traditional library. Can get a little warm in summer. It's a little gem in the city.

  • Debra Whyatt

On Monday, a staff member at the City Library was absolutely amazing with helping me navigate technology. She could not have done more to help me. Thank you, sorry I didn't get her name.

  • Electra Eblen

staff were exceptionally rude and unfriendly, left almost as soon as i got there because the staff seem to be too entitled. None of the computers were working either.

  • Neil Pearson

The worst library I have even been too. No quiet at all and no staff seem to want to create a reading environment. You’d get more peace reading or working in a bar.

  • Marni Banks

I love this place for studying. Peaceful and enjoyable environment with staff that is more than happy to help. I recommend this place to all of my student friends.

  • Delmer Viramontes

  • Dsc Rac

Very spacious but has got only a few seats which would be already occupied most of the time and aeriously tax payers deserve a few more chairs :)

  • Jonathon Dyer

An island of solace in the busiest part of the city. Things to see, things to read, and extremely helpful staff to help you find what you seek.
