This evening, me my boyfriend, auntie and uncle visited Aire Bar. At first we sat outside at around 3pm where the atmosphere was absolutely amazing, sun was shining and drinks were flowing. We ordered a bit of food just to nibble on and quite frankly, we couldn’t ask for any better. The staff were so attentive and always around. We usually only have one drink in a bar and move on but we ended up having around four or five until we moved inside about 7pm to play bingo. My auntie won £15 and I won £20. It was such a nice activity to do as it was a musical bingo so it was a lot of fun. Again, the bingo man was so helpful if we had missed anything. The staff behind the bar were lovely and always provided us with the best service. We will definitely be returning to the Aire bar!!

A good friend of mine visited and both of us had a pint of hand pull bitter. The beer was okay but mine was underfilled i.e. nearly an inch+ of head. Before I could query this, the barman was serving another customer. My friend and I are in our early 60's and felt old as the demographic was clearly early 20's. A table of lads across from us managed to spill a pint of Guinness on their table. 5 minutes later another member of their party dropped a full pint of lager on the floor. A member of staff came to mop up and pickup the glass quickly. It was mid afternoon and we finished our pints then left. Unlikely to return as not a place for good conversation.

Service was good. Enjoyed my craft beer but was disappointed with the quality of the food. My colleague ordered fish and chips, it looked great, she ate it and said it was good. I ordered one, when mine arrived it looked good but the Yorkshire batter was rock hard crispy outside but swimming in grease inside. The paper it was served in was a pool of grease after the fish was cut open. I can't comment on what the service would have been like as I didn't complain, I wasn't that hungry and was leaving soon anyway. (I didn't pay for the food my company did) but they didn't question it either when they came and took a full plate of food away!

Aire bar was absolutely fantastic! Cannot fault them. I rented a space out at the bar to host a party, of around 35 people, and the staff were soooo helpful. They helped me put up decorations and just were constantly checking on everything and that it was ok. The space was fab too, lovely view of the river with a terrace and lovely inside. I love this bar anyway but it was even better to host an event. Thank you thank you soooo much to the staff that were on shift on Saturday night :):)

Gorgeous spot to enjoy a drink overlooking amazing views of the river. Best of all though, we couldn’t have been more looked after by the staff and felt so at home. Massive thanks especially to Colin for helping me with the stairs in my wheelchair, getting us an accessible table and making me feel so at ease for the whole stay. You’re an absolute gem Colin and your kindness made the visit! Thank you so much to you and your whole team, see you soon.

Not been in for ages since they changed their menu. Food is very good value for money - however it is pretty basic pub grub that’s served fast food style in baskets and greaseproof paper now. Having said that, it was cooked perfectly and didn’t take long to arrive. Staff have always been friendly here, decent enough prices and selection for this part of town too.

Spent a great afternoon in Aire Bar today. Managed to get seats outside overlooking the river in the sunshiiine. Fab! Why is there a need to limit payment by cash to transactions under £5? (There won't be many of those!) I know loads of folk who don't have cards or don't bring them out with them so how would they manage? Why is cash not acceptable anymore?

What a hidden gem this bar is. We visited Leeds for the weekend and came across this place. Friendly bar staff and what a amazing breakfast. The manager (sorry we didn't get your name) was friendly and each time we went in came over chatting to us. Would highly recommend a visit if you are ever in leeds

  • Stephen Parker

Friendly and very efficient bar staff. Much larger than it looks from the outside. A must on a sunny day to sit outside by the river. Had a lovely meal of fish and chips with mushy peas for a fiver. Couldn't believe how cheap. Well presented and tasty. Can't recommend this bar high enough. 10 out of 10

Drinks tasted off... Probably old kegs or not cleaned the lines out since lock down was over. Went to pay for our drinks and they wouldn't accept paper 20 pound notes even though they are still in use (check bank of England website) and have not been withdrawn. Polite staff but a pain in the arse.

  • moar musiks

Not impressed. I am exempt from wearing a mask, but the member of staff who I spoke to on the door did not show any understanding, and broke the law by asking for a reason (which I consider between me and my GP) - despite me giving them many years of business prior to this. I won't be going back.

  • Lewis Appleton

Lovely little bar on the canal, they serve some lovely burgers and also do two fish and chips for £10. Highly recommend in the summer but also in the winter it's nice and warm inside. Staff here are very friendly and accommodating and the gin is lovely! You can also watch the football here.

  • shaun bethell

Hasn't changed much since I visited a couple of years ago. It's nice to sit outside on the bank of the river and watch the world go by. Great place for a quiet afternoon drink and I imagine it's really nice after the sun goes down. Will definitely not wait another two years to go again

  • Darren Calvert

Enjoyed my visit on a Wednesday night for the eat out scheme. Burger was brilliant and good size portion. Cajun fries too and sharing nachos. Good service. Not many ales on rotation but the bar manager explained but due in later as closed Monday/Tuesday. Hophouse and 1919 lager nice.

I've always enjoyed visiting this bar, great location, friendly staff and decent views of and around the river Aire I haven't tried the food here but have heard the food served is very good Lots of comfy sofa's to relax and watch sports on the screens. They also have a pool table :)

  • Joe Chapman

Nice relaxed bar on the banks of the river Aire. In the summer is great to sit outside and watch the world go by, but there aren't too many seats, so space is at a premium. The food is tasty and there's a decent dendron. The staff always seem friendly and are ahead willing to help.

  • Philip Lund

Ok if you’re just drinking but it is expensive at a fiver a pint. If you’re having food don’t expect the best. No burgers less than £7.00, fries are a chargeable extra. Will arrive in a basket, will not arrive hot. Be aware it’s a cashless bar so you will need to pay by card.

  • jeffrey gilburn

Great little place came across it whilst hunting on a Sunday for food and beer after attending a local event. Found it to have a great atmosphere with a football theme going on and the burgers filled our empty stomachs would definitely recommend a visit to the Aire bar.

  • Paul Gee

Ive been going to the Aire Bar for years, right back when it was the Sparrows Wharfe. It hasn't really changed that much. We ordered fish and chips which were adequate but nothing special. Please remember that this is now a card only bar and do not take cash.

  • T Vickers

Always a popular place with its position next to the river. The terrace is fairly small so outdoor seating on a nice day is hard to come by. One for gin drinkers, there's a impressive selection of different gins on offer besides a selection of beer and ales.

  • stephen barrett

Great bar! Always a good atmosphere, decent crowd and they do a lovely breakfast. If you want a drink by the river also then this is the place, good outside seated area which catches the sun in the morning July 2021 update, still awesome

  • Michael Whittaker

Decent enough bar with some good beers on offer. A little disappointed with the food I ordered as the falafel burger had far too much chilli on it. The fries also had far too much seasoning. I'm not sure anyone needs that much salt on their food.

  • Richard Hawkins

Great bar with a great atmosphere... Whenever its a sunny day, I know exactly where I’m going for a drink. Its also a good place to watch the football when its on TV as there’s lots of screens and sofas, but doesn't seem to attract the louts.

  • Ashey Kemp

One of my regular haunts, a good all-rounder - varied range of beers, something for everyone, always in tip-top condition with friendly staff. Instantly busy when the sun makes an appearance, but just as good on a rainy afternoon.

  • Dylan Preston

Nice bolt hole when Leeds is full at Christmas and other busy times. It's not an empty pub don't get me wrong. Nice views over the river on summer days somewhat spoiled by the clouds of cigarette bloody smoke.

  • Tony Goose

Meeting and the lamb and flag, heading into the city? Make this a stop off especially if you want to catch some TV sport...on route or if the sun is shining, have a eer on the veranda at the side of the river

  • Martin Timpson

Great bar with a fantastic river side seating area . Friendly staff and good beer . Who doesn't like sitting by the river on a lovely summers day having a drink and enjoying the views ,this is a great bar

  • Andy B

What an awesome bar!! Vast range of beers / lagers and a really friendly landlord. Cracking location, too, and popular on Leeds FC match days . Amazing outdoor area on the river, too, and south facing!

  • Lord Matthew Abuga Soulsby

Amazing little hidden gem on the way down to the river. Nice outside seating next to the river to watch the world. Food was lovely and cheap. Would be nice to go back for a quiz night or just drinks

Stopped off here with a group of friends on a late Saturday afternoon for a couple of drinks it wasn't too busy and the music wasn't too loud and our group of 10 fitted in with no problem …

  • gayle goodyear

Large open spaced bar. Serving large selection of drinks. Spirt is usually shoeing on the tvs. Great views overlooking the River Aire. Toilets need updating, they are abit grim

  • caitlin Large

We came here tonight for a birthday, Collin and the whole team were absolutely wonderful I will definitely be back! Food was amazing service was amazing. Aire bar is top notch

  • Ben Marsh

Pretty average really. Beer selection is decent. Food is ok. I got nachos last time I was there which were a little disappointing. They came pretty much plain with just salsa.

  • Phebe Greenwood

Prefect for a relaxing drink and sport watching. The food menu is very reasonable. There is a lovely outside area overlooking the river and the staff are always DELIGHTFUL.

  • dee bee

Went with the wife and we both had a steak and chips meal with a bottle of wine thrown in for £20. The food excellent, the wine lovely and the service was also excellent.

  • Dean Darley

Had a great night watching the football. Booked everything online so was easy when I got there just shown to my table and we were served well throughout the night.

  • Raider the Animator

Beautifully designed with social areas like pool table, nice balcony over river, can be formal or casual, just a tiny bit more expensive then normal. No cocktails

  • laszlo Janovszki

Always enjoy the great views from this bar with good selection of beers and the food it not bad either. Can get really busy on a sunny day and if a big game is on

  • Keiron Walford

Sports bar with great atmosphere when big games are on. Food and drinks are fairly priced. Quality outdoors area looking out onto the River which catches the sun.

  • Brian Jeffrey Jhumun

One of the most chill places for a drink in Leeds. Great views over the Aire river. Great prices as well. But the thing that bothers me is the loud music.

  • James Callaghan

If the Guinness was £4 a pint then I would have given it a 5. £4.45 not bad for central Leeds. Good building and servers and the outside area is great.

  • Mister V3 (MisterV3)

Went for a few pints on a Saturday afternoon while the football was on. Nice vibes. I like the venue. The service was good and plenty of places to sit.

  • Sally Baker

Burger was well made and tasted amazing. Friendly staff, Formula 1 on the tv, relaxed atmosphere, Red Stripe on tap. will definitely go back again

  • Vince Levison

Fantastic service. Always a great night. Colin is the best bar man ever, jokes are like there’s a professional comedian has just entered the room

  • Matthew

One of the best bars in Leeds. Heaps of character, friendly service and a good selection. Well worth a quick detour from the busier city center.

  • John Ratcliffe

Best place to watch the Leeds games by far but anytime of the day is good here. Half price burgers on a Monday is not to be missed!

  • Linda Hamilton

Friendly place for a drink. When the weather is good it is nice to sit outside and chill. Great banter with friends old and new

  • Steve Jones

Went to watch the footy here and wasn't disappointed. Great barman who kept us watered and entertained all night. Nice gaff.
