I recently had a connecting flight traveling through Charlotte Douglas Airport Sat .Oct 23rd . The city had a 5k run schedule on the terminal. I’m sure in planning they thought this was adventures and apparently profitable. But it was a headache for travelers flying into the City. We had to sit on the runway from our adjoining City more than half and hr until they cleared the runway and most of the flight miss their connecting flight . This was poor planning on the highest level. I was behind a couple that missed their flight (because of 5k Run.)They were en-route to a wedding and they were going to miss because there wasn’t a flight until several hrs later. A ton of stories were shared about missing their flight because of this (5k Run). I miss my flight . This city really needs better planning when it comes to planning because this was a bust, . How could you not consider the problems you would cause when planning a race on a terminal(at an airport)! Did you not consider the problems you would cause travels? Did you not think this was not going to not fit into everyone’s traveling plans? Making people miss special events etc. The planning committee needs to be fired AND the higher ups that allowed this to happen. Not a happy traveler

Understanding there's alot of renovation going on, there's only one entrance/exit in this particular area of the airport. Workers and passengers alike share this entrance/exit, the weekends are generally jammed packed and along the walkway. This is a safety concern, as workers and passengers alike, have to walk on the asphalt in order to get through and by to the one entrance/exit. This is unsafe and a hazard to physical harm, if not careful. There's a shortage of bus drivers for employees and passengers. Which is also more of a reason why this is a hazardous environment. Smokers have no particular area to smoke their cigarettes. I appreciate the public drives for their safe driving and the traffic coordinators for their abilities in maintaining safety to the best of their ability. Hopefully the traffic coordinators have water for hydration, and breaks due to the heat. Understanding they're in shade, the summer heat is not biased. There truly needs to be more outdoor seating in this general area as well. Fans will probably help. There's very little to no ventilation, considering all of the vehicles and the heat from their exhaust pipes that contribute to the summer heat.

Was on the plane on the runway when pilot said maintenance issue and it's not a little fix. Said they will put us right on another plan and get us to our destination soon. Attendant told us which gate to go to... get there and lady doesn't know anything... sends us to customer service. They said next flight booked, put me on stand by... didn't make that one (of course... there were only 5 available seats- that won't fit a whole plane of people). Thankfully the manager was there... she got 2 ladies on... and she got me booked to another city. This happened to me before and they really did have another plane for us... must have been delta. And priority ticketers are first... just because I don't travel a lot (& don't have the money) doesn't mean I don't have value and worth. Don't see myself flying American airlines again. Maybe it's just this airport??

I asked for a medium with xtra cream & 4 spenda . The cashier realize she only entered 1 Splenda & told the girl making it it needs to be 4 Splenda & xtra cream. The register girl said xtra cream is 3 I asked for 5 this does not look like xtra cream plus the cover I was given leaked so it was spilling everywhere. I went back asked for another cup & lid. She gave me cup I asked for a lid twice but she kept her back to me. Today is 6/11/33 at 10:52am I just left because my flight was boarding. As large the terminal is, it is easy to navigate, thanks to signage. The rocking chairs are a nice touch! Just a couple notes to others: If you are arriving, you actually have to go up half a floor then back down a full floor to baggage claim and curbside. Also, be careful on the moving sidewalks. The first of several I used I was walking briskly before stepping on and the conveyance's speed made me loose my balance slightly until I caught myself. Same with getting off; it almost feels like being tossed off the thing if you are walking too fast! LOL

10:10pm flight cancelled at 1:29 am. All hotels booked so they gave us cots in the D terminal. It was about 55 degrees, we were given a small pillow and blanket. Everyone was booked on various flights. No lights were turned down, no muzak turned off, the reminder to not carry someones bag played LOUD every 10 minutes. At 5:15 they pulled up a cart right next to my head and started folding and stacking cots for people who left for earlier flights. Really??? Never again. American Airlines or a Charlotte hub. Never.

This is truly a lovely airport and one that I often choose to connect through. The rocking chairs in the center are a wonderful way to pass the time between flights. There is a good selection of places to eat and shop. There is a currency exchange location in the center of the airport. There are water fountains with bottle filling ability allowing you to fill a water bottle for free beyond the security check point. It is a clean airport staffed with friendly and helpful info individuals.

Flew into and out of Charlotte. Airport was easy to navigate, lots of staff for anyone needing assistance. There were lots of bathrooms and the ones we used were spotless!! Lots of seating available at our terminal, every where we went In the airport was nice and clean. staff was friendly and professional, even when met with people who didn’t want to comply with mandates.

As someone who worked there, its a great place once you get used to the constant flow of people. Both passengers and others may be rude or feel entitled, the bad experience gets overshadowed by the passengers and workers who are nice enough to have manners and common sense. We understand everyone is in a rush, but a smile and a thank you does really make a persons day

i usually fly into this airport & have always had good experiences UNTIL this month- this airport( and many others as I understand it) evidently sold off fleet of rental cars so only few left at premium prices; therefore, had to cancel flight because couldn't afford rental car prices

Everything at this airport is good EXCEPT when you are waiting at arrivals and have to listen to Constant yelling and whistles from the staff. It Is not needed and DOES NOT help the flow of traffic. It simply confuses and intimidates the drivers. (Which slows them down!!!)

Not sure why after transiting through this airport the walkways always seem to be broken…. It’s all good if you’re trying to get your steps in but if the intent is to efficiently move people I’d rate this airport an F for fail, fail fail.

Probably the best airport I’ve ever been in around the world. Fine dining, great shops, supremely clean. I’ve been in so many airports and none has ever made an impact on me to leave a review, but Charlotte was a cut above the rest!

Outdated and not enough power outlets anywhere especially in Terminal E... much prefer Atlanta... we often have no choice but to fly through there because only American flies to Lynchburg out of here but we wouldn’t otherwise....

For hardcore DD fans, the 6am opening is only suggested....counter person said 6ish. Actually said that....mind boggling what the current workforce has become. 6:16 and still hoping to get a coffee before flight, wish me luck!

I travel, ALOT. While this airport may be somewhat outdated it's level of customer service and friendliness is refreshing. Even TSA was a pleasant experience (as pleasant as can be I suppose).

A very old and gross place. With terrible and rude service at Whiskey River. Watch your luggage. The employees like to get their greasy gloves on it and move it without asking.

An absolute mess. Some of the exits are cleverly hidden behind security lines, so it's like a game that's not fun here. Escape room vibes.

Nice airport. Very busy and large terminal. Rediculous the all the eating establishment s start shutting down at 5:00pm. Fliers beware.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was my first time flying by myself. I made through security in under a half an hour.

Compared to LAX, a dream. TSA thorough but quick, and overall the terminal is clean with plenty of food options.

Feels out of date, old bathrooms, minimal waiting area's. Only new things were the restaurants and eateries.

Please allow plenty of time to park, check in and get through security due to holidays and construction

very dirty. the walking transits were broke. will never fly through that airport again.

Just like any other terminal it was crowded with multiple businesses on site.

It is so cool to have a wireless charger built into the arm rest. I love it!
