"Soooo"
I went with a group of friends to watch the exorcist. As the waiter greeted us, he seemed to be having an attitude from the jump as he took our order. When they brought the food out, he gave me and the friend I was sharing a table with tenders and fries, but we both ordered fried chicken sandwiches. Mind you, the tenders came out 5 minutes after we ordered (they didn't seem too busy), but when we told him we didn’t order them, he said, “You told me tenders, and I confirmed it twice.” I was like, no, I said fried chicken, and you probably misheard. So after that, he brought the rest of my friend's food with no problems. Twenty-five minutes later, they bring out 1 of the chicken sandwiches. So I waited for an additional 20 minutes to see when he was going to bring mine out, but he just never did. So I went out and complained to the manager. Then my cousin texted me that my sandwich came while I was talking with the manager about why there would be a 20-minute gap between 2 of the same orders of chicken sandwiches that were placed at the same time. Not to mention, my chicken sandwich came with just the bread and chicken, no Cole slaw or sauce that comes with it, which I didn't tell them to take off. I complained and started expressing how I felt about them being unprofessional and him giving lousy service from the start. She took $40 off the bill, but I'm still upset because I've had good experiences here, and I wish there were more accountability and dedication toward the customer's experience. I just wanted to enjoy a nice movie night out, and these inconveniences were unwarranted and could’ve been avoided.
This theater is located on the 4th floor. The escalators are pretty fast, but as it get closer to 3pm, there are a lot of kids around target on the 2nd floor. Each individual screening room is on another floor. This location only has 7 screening rooms and no reclining seats. This place does open earlier than the one in Manhattan, but the one in Manhattan has reclining seats. This location doesn’t have all of the latest releases since they don’t have that many screening rooms. The service is amazing and I love how they have specific times with sensory screening and open captioning. The food and service is pretty good. I prefer fries over popcorn, so Alamo is always my theater of choice. Their burgers are amazing, but I feel that their unlimited drinks are a bit over priced. If this location had reclining seats, this would be 5 stars. They also have limited menu items as well as amazing loaded fries. For me, this location offers dinner and a show! What’s not to like,
I came here recently to see a film that wasn't playing in the theaters closest to my house. This place reminds me Nitehawk Cinema where they serve food and alcohol and not just your standard movie theater snacks and drinks. The set-up is also the same where you write down what you want, push the button in front of you, and wave for one of the staff to come and collect your order. Everything comes out pretty fast, and the waitstaff makes sure they don't disturb you or disrupt the film. Thirty minutes before the film ends, you get the check. They have a decent sized menu, and of course, the pricing is what you would expect from a movie theater. The place is kept clean and seating is comfortable in my opinion. I just wished they had a slightly larger area for food and drinks. Overall, I enjoyed my first experience, and I will definitely come here again in the future.
My husband got tickets for Oppenheimer at this cinema and we didn't know anything about it. When we got there, instead of a popcorn stand, we found a bar. The bar was great, and my cocktail was delicious. But the decor was pretty bizarre. Then, we used the escalators to get to the top floor . I was still looking for a soda and popcorn stand. But there wasn't one. When I got to the room, I was surprised to see all of the seats spread out, very spacious, and with tables between them. Turns out they had a whole menu and service to the comfortable seats - from popcorn to hamburgers, from soda to sparkling wine. They even had an option to write down your order and push a button mid-movie to get more food/drinks. We absolutely loved the experience.
Soooo...I love Alamo. It's one of the only places I want to see a movie. The downtown Bklyn location has not been great lately, however. Duck tape on the seats - or just torn and uncomfortable to sit on if wearing shorts. And the service has been so bad. They suggest getting there 30 mins early. Not sure why since the wait staff stands outside of the theater and then doesn't come until the movie is about to start and then it takes 20+ minutes to get something ordered, if you get it at all. This has been the case more often than not since the pandemic. Disappointing.
Great place to watch a movie and eat. Servers are nice kind helpful when needed. There’s no phone allowed during moves so that’s great thing. Really built the movie theater chair placement well. As feels like can’t pick bad seating in this company movie theater’s. As for food it’s good with amazing selection of beer, wine, soda if want.
My family and I enjoyed our time at this movie theater. We were served at our seats by servers like in a restaurant! The food was great and the movie we saw added for an all round great experience. I commend the servers there, they were all polite, timely and professional. I highly recommend this movie spot for singles and families!
The staff here is awesome, they always have great movies playing, and I love the unique call button system for ordering food and drinks. However, they don't have the recliners like their lower Manhattan location or many other theaters in NYC, which is unfortunate. Still super comfy, but I love a good recliner.
Wanted to thank the Drafthouse for the Bicycle rack up front. A gentleman from staff even held the door for me as I was leaving! Elevators make it easier too. Otherwise, same setup as others, service was a little slow today but it was slammed and packed per Saturday.
