The Alamo desk had no one working at it when we arrived. We waited around 5 minutes, and then I decided to call. At that point someone from Enterprise came over and said that we should go to their desk. There should have been a sign at the Alamo desk that told us to go to Enterprise. This was not a good first impression of Alamo. The first car we chose, a full size sedan, did not have Android Auto. We drove it to the exit gate and asked the guy to help us figuring that we just couldn't find it. Nope - the car was not equipped. So back in to get another car. All of you cars should have both Android and whatever the iPhone uses. Both the man at the exit gate and the man who helped us pick cars were very helpful. On the 2nd day I received a voice mail from Alamo. They did not know which car we had. Not sure how this happened as the man at the exit gate took all of our info and scanned stuff, so I believe he had put in the info. In conclusion, we had quite a few glitches. Adding a sign to the Alamo desk at the airport, and making sure people get a car that matches their phone app would be great additions. Not sure what to do about Alamo not getting our car info. The good news is that all of the Alamo workers were great. The car was very nice and worked well for us. Also, returning the car was easy. Also, we had a fantastic price for the rental because we booked with Allegiant, so thank you for that.

I had made my reservations online and was quoted one price but on Sunday 12/24/23 when I arrived at PDX, I noticed no one at the Alamo car rental counter and was instructed by the clerk at Enterprise to come on over for my reservations. When the girl at the counter went through the pricing she quoted a much higher rate than what I was quoted online. I asked why the big difference? She was not sure and said maybe because I was supposed to pick up the vehicle at 8:30pm and it’s only 8:15pm. I said that’s weird because I’m going to return it way earlier than 8pm. I was tired and just wanted to get out of there so I said ok whatever. I decided to extend for another day and returned the vehicle on Wednesday 12/27/2023 at around 11:30am. I was asked by a very upbeat, and positive associate at the parking lot, her name was Nicole. She was very helpful asked how everything went I said awesome except when we had checked in and was quoted a different rate than what was on my confirmation. She listened and empathized and made it right by offering a $25 discount. I was blown away by her professionalism and empathy. I recently had a great experience with renting a car from Alamo I wanted to share. I did the skip the counter pick up online. Our flight arrived late, so the economy cars were all gone and they automatically upgraded us to an SUV. No one ever tried to up sell us. On the road, we got a flat tire. The road side assistance line was quick to get ahold of and directed us to an enterprise rental place on our way. The clerk was fast, again no upselling, and we were on our way. I was worried about the total bill because of the flat tire. But when we returned the car, we were charged less than our estimated costs. I’m not sure if all that happened with us was a fluke, but if this is part of how they run their company, I would definitely recommend renting from them.

Easiest rental I’ve ever picked up. We did skip-the-counter and were able to pick a car from the lot. Signage was very good in the rental car lot, so it was easy to find Alamo and also the car type we had rented. This option was super convenient for our late arrival time. Car was in great shape (new Corolla) and was equipped with CarPlay/Android Auto. Upon returning, the Alamo staff were dancing to music while we pulled up! They were very friendly, and it’s always great to see people having a good time and enjoying their work the best they can. Dropping off the rental took less than a minute. If we’re ever flying into PDX again, we’ll definitely choose Alamo to rent our car. It was affordable, convenient, fast, and with great customer service.

Pleasantly surprised. Used the pre-registration process, so I could skip the line and go right to the cars. This was ideal, since there was a huge line at the counter. Was met by a very pleasant employee, showed me my choice of cars in my category, told me I could pick a higher category if I wanted (for an additional fee), and then got me the keys and offered to assist with bags. The car was just a car - but that's what I ordered. It was reasonably clean, and the car worked just fine (which is really what you want in a rental car). The return process was also pretty easy. Employees were readily available to get all the cars checked out. Overall, it went very smoothly, and I would rent from again when I return to PDX.

Booked through Costco Travel and had no issues. Landed around midnight and there was a sign at the counter to head to the Nationals desk in the garage for check in. Check was fast and smooth and was given a Hyundai Accent (booked a Compact car). Car was clean and basic and came with a Clorox wipe. Did a quick walk around and found no majors dents or stretches. Always check the roof of the car for dents (had a past Enterprise experience that tried to say I had hail damage to the roof). You can skip the prepay gas, Costco gas is way cheaper. Great mileage on the car which was awesome since gas prices are higher and we drove a lot. Car return was even quicker and no surprise charges.

The car was great, there were no problems. I rented via Expedia, and purchased the insurance coverage. I was informed at the desk when I checked in that the coverage is considered 3rd party and not honored by the rental agency. This should be disclosed up front on all 3rd party sites because a. it's a waste of money 2. It feels scammy, and 3. It's just the right thing to do. Imagine the stress if you can't afford to buy the 3rd party coverage and the rental agencies? For this reason, I'm deducting 1 star. Other than that, the car, customer service and other services were amazing.

rented in Portland OR, used the "skip the counter" option and got my choice of car immediately. On return was greeted by Raven, a polite professional young lady. she went through everything in an efficient and timely manner and asked if i had any questions. quite the change from Sixt rental where they said all was good and then a few days later i get a message to pay for the damage on the car that i never had, similar issues with Budget . Alamo certainly gets my business from now on. thank you Raven in Portland airport for renewing my faith in real customer service !

I reserved an inter-mediate size vehicle (similar to a Toyota Corolla) but at pick up, there was only mid-size or bigger available (Toyota Camry). Although I appreciate the bigger vehicle, which I’m sure was more spacious than what I reserved, there was a reason why I preferred the smaller size vehicle, ie. easier to navigate on the roads and freeways and a smaller vehicle would be better the on gas. When returning the vehicle, the process was seamless. The workers were friendly. Highly recommend Alamo for renting a safe and reliable vehicle away from home!

When I made the original booking, I requested a Nissan Rogue or similar, but when I got to the counter, they were going to give me a Toyota RAV4, which to me is much smaller. We were 4 women, with 4 suitcases, carryons, and a walker. I didn’t think we would fit, so I asked for a different vehicle. He offered me a Nissan Armada, which was an additional $100. I did it because I knew we would fit. The Armada rode really smoothly and was east to drive. I gave the 5 stars ⭐️ because the gentleman who helped me was really friendly and the vehicle was amazing.

Overall, we had a good experience with Alamo in Portland. The vehicle was clean and large enough for what we needed. They didn't have the "premium crossover" I reserved when we arrived. We had to take a minivan (not what I wsnted) and it took a while to get that changed and checked out. However, it was at least easy to find someone to help us when they saw us looking around for a vehicle that wasn't there after midnight. And the manager gave us a discount for our trouble. So in the end everything turned out well.

I booked my car through Costco travel. I had no problems signing out the car at PDX. There were three people working. Andrew in the parking garage showed me two cars I could choose. I chose the Subaru. He gave me a quick tour, answered all my questions, and gave me his card. Checking in the car was even easier. The barcode on the window was scanned and the car was inspected quickly. I was reminded to check for my belongings and leave the key in the car. I was so impressed, two weeks later I used Alamo at SYR.

In February 2023, I arrived at Portland Intl. airport and picked up a Chrysler Pacifica minivan from Alamo. The early check-in procedure made things go very smoothly. I got in the car and found I didn't have a good handle on how to operate a hybrid vehicle. Fortunately, the Alamo employees on duty smiled and talked me through the basics of starting and operating the unfamiliar controls. The rest was easy. I'm grateful for the friendly knowledgeable Alamo employees who helped make a successful trip possible.

Vehicle was scratched and dented all over. I had to take pictures' before I left the airport with the attendant so I wasn't blamed for the damage. Vehicle had a smoke smell, even though it was a "non smoking vehicle", the carpeting in the back was all ripped up. I had a issue. The airport number was never answered. I called the national number , spoke with them, got a case number, was promised someone would call me back within a couple of hours. It's been more than two weeks. I guess they didn't care.

Wow amazingly smooth rental! I was nervous to book cause I always use Budget but Alamo is way better and now going to be my usual car rental company! Price was the best. Service outstanding. Christopher at the counter was cheery and pleasant even for 10pm at night. He didn’t push to sell extras and all prices were as stated in reservation. Gale showed us to the car and was very nice :) at drop off Sue was also super friendly. I give 10stars and am very pleased with all around service!!

I am a Alamo Insider for many years but my last experience was very horrible and unacceptable. We flew into PDX . I requested my usual Toyota Highlander for 7 passengers. When we arrived at the location there was NO VEHICLES and a lot of other passengers upset without cars. We sat there til almost 3:30 am before we finally got a vehicle but not adequate for 7 people . We were giving a Hyundai for 5 passengers. That was totally illegal and insane to make us take this vehicle.

Recently rented from Alamo in Portland Or. I filled out the info application and submitted it before the trip. It went as advertised. I went straight to the car storage area, by passing the line at the desk, and picked out a car, in the category I had asked for, and went on my way. Easiest car rental I have ever had. Return was quick and easy also. Give it a try. PS The people I did encounter, in the storage area, were upbeat and very efficient with any questions I had.

I’ve been renting from Alamo at PDX for years. The staff is always helpful when I need help with some of a vehicle’s features. When I returned the vehicle on my last trip on 3/28/23, I inadvertently left my cell phone and charger in the vehicle. The attendant, I think his name was Mickey, found me on my way to the terminal and returned the phone and charger to me! He was also very friendly and helped me get my large suitcase out of the vehicle. Superb customer service!

Every thing was perfect except on the exit in the parking I had to wait over half an hour at least to check my car out especially when they have everything in the system The attendant checked my driver license and bar code but she couldn’t process She said she has a problem in the computer, we waited over half an hour until the manager showed up and still he couldn’t fix it, then I had to move lane to process again That was very bad situation and not acceptable

Service from Alamo employees was very good. Both checking out (unfortunately I didn't get her name) and returning (Lynn) were polite and very helpful. The vehicle was probably close to being turned over due to mileage. There were multiple stains on front and back seats; however, the power lumbar driver's seat made driving very comfortable. There were a few other issues you probably see on higher mileage rentals, but overall it provided me with what I needed.

I had a great experience with Alamo. I forget who worked at the counter to check me in but he was very informative and helpful. I also worked with Sam who showed me the car and also was the one who checked the car in when I was done. I had an issue with the key phob battery being low and Sam was wonderful in rectifying the situation. I will definitely use Alamo again due to the great Customer Support.

Miles at PDX was incredibly kind and helped us seamlessly upgrade to a larger vehicle, which I'm not exaggerating, was a life saver. We were traveling for 10 days, 1,000+ miles, with 3 ppl and there was no way a compact suv was going to fit our luggage on this venture. Our check-in was superior. Our car type was not available, and the attendant was super helpful in getting us a replacement vehicle. The Mazda SUV ran great and got good gas mileage. When we checked the car in upon return, Terrance, the attendant, was fantastic, he asked about our accommodations and arranged for a small discount. Rental experience was overall very good. Vehicle was an older one but in generally good shape with a few small dents and scratches that needed to be documented. The price was well below competitors. Drop off was very smooth and fast at the airport. My only minor complaint was that the compact vehicle I arranged for was not available so I took a larger vehicle at the same cost.

I always get good service and good rates with alamo. I just rented a car in Portland and during the rental some trash was found in the car. When we return the car to Alamo we brought it up to the associates attention just to let them know the cleaning crew was not getting everything. He discounted my rate which was not expected but welcomed. I will always rent from Alamo.

Service was great! The desk clerk had a great attitude and was very helpful. The greeter at the vehicle was excellent, he advised us on the features of the new van we had reserved. Upon returning the vehicle, the greeter checked to see if things were OK for us, and double checked to ensure we dropped off the keys and had all our belongings. Overall a great experience.

The customer service is excellent. My flight arrived over 12 hours late and even though the counter was suppose to be closed, I was able to get a car immediately. For the return, again my flight was changed by 14 hours and I wasn’t charged extra and the drop box was super easy. Very very happy with the service (and the brand the brand new car I got!). Very positive experience at Alamo. Got a very reasonable last minute “Drive Happy” rate (Wildcard car), and they let us pick from the full size area. Got a lower mileage Dodge Charger for the weekend with leather and sunroof (not that we could open it in February with the rain!). Easy drop at airport. Counter staff at rental car center was very helpful and friendly.

The representative in the Portland Airport during the holiday travels was fantastic. He handled himself cool and calm and acknowledging everyone in line, while being obviously understaffed and overwhelmed and acted very professional at 12 am in the morning. Good experience. Even with a long line in the rentals place, they moved very quickly - took about 10-15 minutes to go through a line with 10 people in front of me. Super efficient "skip the counter" process. We loved being able to walk onto the lot and pick out our own rental vehicle, which was brand new car and super clean. Alamo also has a very efficient return process, fully staffed. Have used other rental companies before, but this was by far the best experience yet.

Was surprised how little of a hassle Alamo in Portland was. They let you pick your car out of whatever models in the price you paid they have in stock, and didn't pressure about buying their insurance and gas. Also rather than putting a hold for hundreds of dollars on my card, they swiped it for $1

All the staff at your Portland, Oregon office are great and Nicole from Enterprise when I dropped the car back was very helpful too. I have used Alamo for over 30 years in the US and this team are your best! I have never had bad service though from Alamo, always good service and I recommend them.

Front desk rental was fine until we went to the lot and the worker didn't look for our selected car, said everything was out and gave us a different model. We were too far away to realize the car reeked of smoke so it rubbed off on our clothes and children's clothes. First and last customer.

1. The lack of skip the counter option for me was a problem especially since I rent from Alamo quite a bit. 2. The car was not very clean inside and out. Found someone's vape pin under the passenger seat when cleaning out the car to return. Agents were nice and helpful that was a plus.

Alamo has been very good to work with. Last time I have a car with Alamo that developed an issue. It was no problem to stop back by the Airport and they got me a replacement and I was back on the road. I will continue to use Alamo as one of my preferred Rental companies to work with.

Used the "quick pass the counter go straight to pick car" when I arrived. Let wife pick the color and SUV we were to drive the next 4 days. The only issue were knowing the functions of the car and someone to explain them. Flawless check-in process and super quick.

Pick up and drop off went smoothly. My only complaint was the interior of the car had a strange smell and when we questioned it at pickup, they said it was their cleaning solution. They need to change that. We had to endure that uncomfortable smell all week.

Great experience with Alamo at the Portland airport. Good price (compared to other vendors), very fast out the door as well as fast checking back in. Would be my choice next time (without doing my usual research on the best deal).

Upgraded my car no charge cool. Easy to return car. When I picked up my car in Portland at 630am I waited 20min and no one was at the counter. Ended up having to do the whole check in on my phone. Wasted time waiting on someone

Great experience all the way from the front desk to car return. We got a nice, clean car and everybody we interacted with was great. I wish I had everyone's name to thank, but Konstantin was very helpful. Definitely recommend!

Very helpful staff and easy process. I just rented a van for a family vacation and process was super easy and the Alamo staff were very accommodating. Car was very well maintained and retuning it was a breeze!

The car was obviously previously smoked in. The smell was very potent. There were even burn marks on the gear shift. Lots of small scrapes and scratches on the car, but it ran great and got great gas milage.

Had the car that we rented been cleaned, I would have given 5 stars. The windshield hadn't even been cleaned of the previous renters' footprints. It was gross! The staff was friendly for the most part!

Only reason I put 4 stars is because I couldn't connect my phone to GPS . I had to have Apple Phone . Rentals should accept all carriers especially in big cities! Other than that everything was great!!
