TLDR; Sell you repair service you don't need. "Free Tune-up" is a scam. Beware. If you purchase a bike from here you should expect to receive poor service and maintenance moving. They do not pay any attention to details. I purchased a brand new GT Karakorum Sport 29er bike from Mike back in August of 2017. He reviewed the bike or "put it on the stand" as her referred to it to reassure me that bike had been looked over and was finely tuned up as any new bike should be. After only one day I noticed that both wheels were so badly out of true. I called them back and they happily fixed the problem and apologized. I let this slide as it was only a minor inconvenience for me. Here is the issue which led me to write this review. I rode the bike for the next few months with no issues until I returned again in January because I was told all bikes sold include "free tune-ups" for 1 year. Now let me remind you that this bike was only 5 months old at this point and well within its warranty. The bike had a minor creak coming from what sounded like the pedal or the crank so I brought it in for a look. It was cold and in the middle of winter so I was in no hurry and left the bike with them. Mike called me over a week later telling me that bike should not be used for downhill purposes or extreme riding. I found that interesting because it's only ever been ridden on concrete. He said that it needed "a crank overhaul" and a new tire and gave me options if I didn't want to buy a new tire. Those options were a "wheel overhaul," which I later understood was an extensive wheel true. The price for the "free tune" was initially estimated around $150 if I let them do the work. I declined and told them to send it away to GT because I claimed it must be a manufacture defect if it needs a new tire after 5 months. We didn't discuss the crank at all because he said he could not do anything. After a few conversations the price dropped to $60 to $20 to FREE as they discovered that it actually didn't need any work. (It was a loose bolt on the tire, lol). I took the bike home without them doing any real work aside from adjusting my brakes and gears (which I normally maintain myself) My initial concern of the minor creak has now become a major concern because it is WAYYYYYY WORSE than before. After my recent experience I am extremely hesitant to even bring the bike back and considering taking my business elsewhere in spite of it still being covered under warranty. I have no ridden since It's been in because there is still ice on the ground but the season is quickly approaching. I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received and advise all customers to beware when purchasing a bike from here.

Do not go here for bike service. I had been to this location in the past and had bad luck, but i thought I'd give them another chance this spring.. terrible idea. Had 2 bikes in with them, told them the issues and were told it would take a few days to have them ready. I was called the next day and told they were ready, I was pleasantly surprised. Got the bikes home and nothing was fixed, the chains were slipping where they were slipping prior to being taken in. Were charged over 300 for services that never happened. The owner of this store is less than helpful when dealing with issues, he does not listen to customers. He basically said I am the only person who has had an issue with his bike service and that I don't know what I'm talking about. We ride our bikes an average of 80 km a week and he seems to think we wouldn't notice if the service was poor quality. We were left with 2 bikes that were essentially unridable for the most part. Stay away from this place UPDATE: the 2 bikes that were taken here for service were serviced by a bike mechanic and there was a huge list of issues with them. One bike needed the crank and rear cassette replaced. The other bike mechanic agreed that there was no way any service was completed.

Took BMX bike in last week to have new chain and back brake installed. Quoted 113$ and was told if any other service required over 20$ they would contact me to see if I wanted it. Told would take maybe a week for service. Day 8 called and they say it's ready just didn't get a chance to call. Get there to collect bike and my cost is 150$, so I said that wasn't what I was quoted and the guy became very rude at this point. Saying there were other things done to it. So I said I was told if get a call if it was more than 20 extra. He says the lady who did my initial order wasn't here was her day off. So I told him I wasn't paying the extra because nobody called me. Again very rudely said it was her day off how could she call? So I said so nobody else could call and inform us. He says no it's her day off. He took of cost of "extra labor", but still charged for another piece the bike needed. A chain and brake install for 123$ seems a bit Extreme to me. Will definitely take my service elsewhere as he stated it took so long because they are a busy shop. Clearly busy ripping people off. Couldn't even put some air in the tire, my son had to do that himself. Save your money

Went at 6:30 PM with my wife and 7 year old son to get our skates sharpened and maybe buy some goalie equipment and a stick for my son. After 20 minutes of digging through dirty “new” gear for my son with no help, one of the salesman ( I’ll call him “glasses”)came to us and said “you’re just here for skate sharpening right” walked away and yelled at us from across the store “Your skates are done!!” Then basically ushered us out of the store. I don’t know if we weren’t “hockey” looking enough for him. Maybe my son was too small for them to bother with. Maybe my wife’s slightily off white skin or my long hair rubbed “glasses” the wrong way. It was a pretty aggressive move for someone to pull who isn’t a manager or owner of the establishment. I didn’t stick around to ask. I’m an older guy and it takes a lot to bother me. I can forgive bad days and incompetence but this was full on discrimination 1 star is far too high a review for this place and “glasses”. I will never step foot in or spend a dime this store ever again and I don’t think you should either.

I don't really like writing negative reviews because really.. I'm not too picky of a person, but I definitely have to when it comes to this place. I decided to get a tune up on my bike. The people seem awesome but my bike came back worse then I left it. To start Nobody even contacted me that my bike was ready, I had to call to figure it out , an I find out it had been ready for a while. 2nd When i got my bike back, it was dirtier then when I left it. 3rd I was having constant gear problems only to find out that they had put the wrong length of chain on. Lastly when I called to see if they could correct this they told me I was 2 days over my month warranty and that any fix or labor would cost money. I know that's also kind of on me cause I was out of town and not able to properly ride it for a few weeks, None the less . I understand mistakes happen but it's definitely something I wanted to put up here. From my personal experience, I wouldn't recommend and I know I Wouldn't return.

I've been a customer for years. This is a great used and new sports store. If you have kids like I do and don't want to break the bank outfitting them for hockey, skiing, snowboarding, etc., go here first before anywhere else. I have purchased and traded in many, many pairs of skates over the years. Their trade-in value is fair, just don't expect to get all you paid originally. I consider the business a service and it takes the pain out of selling all your used gear online each year. I know they employ many young people which is actually a positive to me. They might not be the most trained but at least they are employed, getting much needed experience. If you are expecting United Cycle style service and flash, don't go here. In fact stay away so the rest of us can enjoy all the great used gear at a fraction of the price that keeps coming in!

  • Sean Conrod

GREAT EXPERIENCE! Ryan was an absolute pleasure to deal with. If management reads this review, then please pass on the recognition to him. I bought new skates for my girlfriend and Ryan took care of us from start to finish. He had an extensive amount of product knowledge, and answered all of our questions in detail. He went above and behind, and gave us a steal of a deal compared to all other competitors. Plus, they baked the skates for her and got them all ready to go. Also, they told us that we can bring them back anytime for adjustment. Ryan, and the woman working with him who I did not get her name... Thank you for making her first time buying a new pair of skates so enjoyable! 10/10 CUSTOMER SERVICE & RECOMMEND

  • A Schaum

Today my 17 year old son and I went in to buy some skates. We dealt with Tony as we always like to do and his service was exceptional. Tony truly went above and beyond. He showed us both used and new skates describing the benefit of both. My son tried on 4 pairs and we decided on an excellent pair of used skates. Tony took the time to heat the skates then have my son wear them to form them to his foot. Tony's knowledge of the equipment he sells is truly exceptional and we will always go to Allsports Replay first when looking for sporting equipment. You don't get this quality service at many places these days. GREAT JOB TONY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lane and Christian Potolicki - Edmonton

Everything is very over priced for being used equipment. When we arrived we were told that the only employee that could swap skates was on his lunch and we would have to wait for him to come back. We left and came back an hour later and buddy was there so I made a comment about him being the only one in the store that could swap skates and he told us both the other employees were perfectly capable of helping us out earlier. Run by lazy incompetent workers that look like they're all just working summer job. Don't go here unless you want your gently used equipment severely undervalued so they can turn it around for double or triple what they offered you for it.

  • MHewko

I purchase equipment here on a regular basis. In addition to equipment i have purchased team jerseys..I find the staff knowledgeable and Helpful. Each visit within 30 seconds a staff member asks me if they can assist me. They have an excellent selection of used as well as new equipment. This is the only place i trust to sharpen my skates. Unlike other stores that you have to look and see who's sharpening them before you drop them off i never have to do that and they are always done quick and correctly. I stop shopping for Allsports.....thanks for the help.

  • That Rachelle girl

I wouldn't even give them one star. The customer service is terrible, they were rude, and the selection is poor. Take your money to a store with some selection. I was given a gift card to buy ski boots in my size. They did not have my size and told me to come back. I live outside the city, but I did. They still did not have my size and would not bring it in or help me at all. Now I have to buy the boots elsewhere and the gift card is now useless as their section of sports equipment is so poor there was nothing else for me to spend it on.

  • Kevin Therriault

Just a helpful reminder to folks to buy a bicycle from a real bicycle shop, NOT from here. I’ve bought two bicycles from here and have found their after purchase support terrible. The reason (I’ve witnessed throughout experience) is that they prioritize sales and service of hockey equipment above all others. Having said that Tyler is a super nice guy and helpful during the selection and sales process: the store does not deserve a roofer and salesman like him. I like to support local but I’ll be buying my next bike from a real bike shop.

  • Adam Davies

Staff here are knowledgeable and attentive. Answered any questions we have. The prices are fair and honest. We managed to find our son a pair of mid range hockey skates that were gently used for around 60 bucks plus sharpening. Great for hockey, lacrosse and baseball stuff. I only rated a 3 as we were a little disappointed to find out they no longer carry ski or snow boarding equipment. Other than that however, I would recommend. Great for young families that want to keep their families active or simply someone with a budget.

  • T Perry

I took my two granchildren to get second hand skates. Was first surprised because the skate trying on area there was no physical distancing. Helped myself to skates and finally somoeone helped me. Was most disappointed in I thought I would pay $35 for a pair of skates for a 7 and 4 year old. One pair was $65 the other $70. Then if I wanted them sharpened it was another $4 a pair. Came home and I could have gotten the skates on sale at Canadian Tire for half the price. Will not go next year, used skates too expensive.

  • Kennedy Paramor

Terrible service. Website says they have new and used ball hockey equipment at a great price. Drove across town to check it out. They had no used and hardly any new equipment, no goalie stuff. Spent 40 min in the store trying to find things on my own. When I asked for help they repeatedly said "If we have any it is over there". No one helped me with helmets or sticks or protective equipment. They let a couple hundred dollars in sales slip out the door. They were not too busy either.

  • Tye Daigle

I called the store looking for an item and asked if they could check if they have it they said yes. so i came to the store 20 min later and waited for service or acknowledgement for about 15 minutes and when i had to track an employee down to get any help they told me they didn't have it and sold it yesterday needless to say I wont be back. check out mud sweat and gears for real customer service not often i feel so inclined to leave a review

  • Patti Szanto

Stopped in here today to buy used skates and a helmet for a 9 year old boy. First time skating so we didn’t want to spend a lot of money. Used selection of skates was great and amazing prices! Phil helped us get a helmet, showed us how to size it and offered to check the back for other colours available. He was incredibly knowledgeable about everything we asked. Made the shopping experience amazing. Keep up the great work! Great job Phil!

  • Kelsey M

Came in today and wanted to trade skates. The guy who helped wasn't listening and was rushing. The size my husband needed there was only ONE skate on the shelf. Not one pair. Literally one skate in the used skate room. Waited to talk to the same guy who helped us and he walked right by and didnt ask how it went or did we find anything. So we grabbed our skates we came with and left. Gave our business elsewhere. Horrible customer service.

  • Tokers Club

Honestly a waste of time heading down there. Pop in for some paintball gear and the paintball "tech" isn't in. Pop by a week later for some bike parts.. and the guys look at you like a deer in headlights (again no "tech") so for the 2 times I've come in wanting to spend around 150-200$ each time and being turned away.. I will never set foot in this store again. On my way over to united cycle for my bike parts today. Thanks for nothing

  • Kate

I highly recommend this bike shop! Tyler and Justin are super knowledgeable and friendly. They took the time to listen to what I want in a bike, and spent time providing me with information and options. I never felt rushed and I was able to find a bike I love! It's the only bike store in the north end, with great hours, so that was also a huge plus! Do yourself a favor and check this wonderful local bike and sports store out!

  • Valentina Wong

Zero Stars Horrible service.. I dropped off my bike to be fixed on Tuesday. I was told it would be ready on Friday. The following Monday I called and they said they were waiting for a chain. I went by the next Friday to pick up the bike and found they had not even started on it.. too funny I ended up picking up the Bike and went to the local sport check. They had it fixed in 2 hours.. Will not ever go back to this store.

  • Khaleeq Panhwer

Can't say anything but good thing about this place. Justin and Tyler helped me pick out a new road bike alongside some essential accessories. They took me through the store and striked up some good conversation. Never once did I feel like they were trying to sell me products not worth the value. In the end I came out as a very happy customer and will definitely be going back if I need anything else.

  • Christopher Gaudet

Allsports and cycle staff are always on top of there game, no mater how busy the store is the staff always takes the time to let you know they will be with you when the can, the whole shopping experience there is based on the staff, trust me its work the few minutes you wait, not only do they know the ins and outs of the equipment they sell, the customer service that provide is outstanding,

  • James Wiebe

Dropped my skates off for a sharpen. Store closed at 4pm. I got there at 4:09 and they were closed. After a few moments of panic as I had a hockey game that night I could see an employee inside and knocked in the door. He reluctantly came to the door as it can be a questionable area and I showed him my skate ticket He got me my skates and saved the day. Thank you soo much. Great service

  • jetta claws

Very helpful staff! I’ve been here a few times since my child decided to take up hockey. Knowing nothing about sports in general and hockey in particular, I had gone in hoping to pick up at least some of the gear secondhand. Each time, the staff were very helpful, patient, and knowledgeable — and didn’t treat me like an idiot because of my lack of knowledge. Very happy for their help!

  • Trevor Kiziak

Prices are very higher than expected. A $50 credit gave me roughly 6 items to choose from 1 pair of underwear, a pair of shorts to a water bottle to choose from trading in 2 pairs of skates. I traded in a pair I purchased for $60 here and they were worn once and got $30 store credit for them. They still had the $60 tag when I originally got them and only gave half back

  • Landon Orr

Allsports replay is the perfect store for a person like me. I am not one to buy the brand new gear at top price but prefer to find lower prices and gently used equipment. I have purchased golf clubs, skates and a bike for my daughter in the last few years and the whole experience from searching to sale to use has been smooth. I would recommend this store to anyone.

  • Abdourahmane DIALLO

First of all I was told They will call me the following day I drop my bike to let me know what is wrong with it but never got the call. I had to call them after day 5 Tandéta it s only that day someone work on my bike. He did great but not what I was told at the beginning. I think the employees need better communication between them first then with the customers.

  • Brad Stokes

Went in today to look for 2 new pairs of skates and there was 4 people there but none of them seemed to wanna do their job and help the customer out finding what they need. Must be doing well and not need the sales or something but would recommend going to a higher end store which comes with the professional service. Wouldn't recommend and I won't go back.

  • Thomas C

My bike was hit by a car and needed a new tire. Ty was incredibly knowledgeable, personable and was able to fix up my bike and get me going within half an hour. I really appreciated his customer service, and never made me silly for asking questions on how to maintain my bike. I will be coming back next time I have to maintain or fix my bicycle.

  • Sandy Chan

I found this place purely by accident because my daughters bike brakes were tight and I was just driving by this sports store. The man working was immediately very welcoming. He took her bike and fixed it. He said it just needed to be oiled and adjusted. I highly recommend this place if ur looking for a place that is honest and knowledgeable.

  • Knew Aaron

Be careful with the staff here, they often don't know their subject matter (with bicycles) I've had to return multiple items because they were not correct (even though the staff said it was what I needed) speaking on a chain-break and a brake cable particularly. Oh yeah, the skate return program is awesome though... one star recovered.

  • King Of the jungle

This store was amazing, great selection of new and used equipment and their staff was great and knowledgeable. I went for skate sharpening and ended up leaving with new Helmet for my son and a pair of underarmour sweatpants that cost me about $30 less than sportchek. Will continue giving my buisness to this amazing group of individuals

  • Scott Gillies

Broke the blade on my Easton skate and had a tough time finding the replacement anywhere in western Canada. Called these guys and they were awesome to deal with. They had the blades that I was looking for and they went way above the expected level of customer service to get them to me before my next ice time. Professional and helpful.

  • dave specht

Best experience I’ve had in a long time. Evan was very helpful and really took the time to make sure my son got the best skate for him. With the huge selection of skates, it was nice to try on a lot of the new skates to see how they compared. Check them out for baseball stuff too, found a lot of great equipment for the spring.

  • Scott Wyman

This is the best place to get your hockey gear for kids. With their trade program and huge selection of second hand equipment they do everything in their power to make the equipment side of hockey as painless as possible. On top of that every person on their staff that I've dealt with has been very knowledgeable and patient.

  • Rola Ya

Dripped my sons skates off a 12:40. Was told to come back in an hour or so because he usually over estimates the time. Came back at 1:50, he then tells me it will be another 45 min! Son has a game at 3 and didnt have time to find another place to get them sharpened. Bottom line, give real time not estimations please.

  • Adel Abougoush

Just went into the store. Wasn't busy at all none of the sales staff acknowledged that I was there stood at the skates waiting for someone to come and assist me to buy a pair. Waited 20min.. young guy behind the counter just stayed put... Tried to buy from non big box company.. unfortunately I will have to now..

  • Ed Patenaude

Extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff. I have two kids in multiple sports and we have always been able to find the proper gear for them at a reasonable cost. I myself had to replace my hockey skates and with the help of there great staff i was able to find a nice pair of graff skates at a great price.

  • Mackenzie Kostelyk

Really great store with a lot of selection of used sports equipment, paintball gear, and even airsoft guns. Unfortunately the prices are more expensive than Canadian Tire, and the gear is mostly used as well. If you're looking for paintball and airsoft gear though, this place is a pretty good bet.

  • Wes Prince

This store has great product selection and prices. It has been very convenient as my kids have grown out of equipment that we can exchange the old stuff and receive credit on the new equipment. The service is very good and I would recommend anyone shopping for sporting goods to have a look here.

  • Steph Edinga

Although the store was extremely busy the service we received was just amazing. Donivan helped us find the perfect skates and helmets and ensured they fit. He was very knowledgeable and made our kids very comfortable. He also provided us some good tips and increased our knowledge as well. .

  • Derek Dallorto

Was on the east side and found this place. Quite surprised how much they offered. Checked out the newer baseball area and the owner was fantastic when we got chatting. A place that can serve the east side of the city and would be willing to help with some baseball of they asked for youth.

  • Carlos Halabi

Phil and his staff are very knowledgeable people when it comes to hockey. Phil traded in my skates for a very reasonable price and fitted me into a brand new skates for a even better price . These guys deserve more recognition as the place looks clean and up to date great job all sports !

  • Tyler Marshall

Over the last couple years Allsports has slowly become our “go to” location for our family’s sporting goods. Whether it’s Hockey and skating, bikes, baseball or ski/snowboard equipment, we have had amazing and knowledgeable service with great pricing to boot! Highly recommend these guys.

  • erik majer

After phone confirmation about requested part (crank arm) by Mike, I drove 30km from West End. After searching about 15 minutes for the part in the store and on computer Mike told me that he was sorry, but the part was on back order. Really unprofessional - I have wasted half a day.

  • Tim Fritz

Great staff. I came to buy new x/c skis for one son and skates for the other and had great help from two different staff members. They are knowledgeable in all their products and the level of assistance did not diminish when they were told we were looking for used equipment.

  • Jason Kinsella

I popped in one day in need of a new cleat for my pedals. They helped me out and installed them. The next day I brought in a wheel for rebuild and they were helpful and honest about the time frame. I highly recommend this store. Lots of options for all manner of cyclist.

  • Adam Kristenson

Very friendly and helpful. Took the time to answer questions and ensure we got what we needed. Even offered to help assemble the skate guards which sounds simple but was more involved than I would have guessed and took a bit of time. Will definitely be returning.

  • darcy domanko

Have taken ice skates there to be sharpened and profiled numerous times, never disappointed, unlike other places who seem out only sharpen one skate, also large selection of other sporting goods, friendly knowledgeable staff. Great place, recommend them.

  • Albert Lesnik

Amazing customer service. My experience come mostly with the paintball side of things. Chris is very knowledgeable and has solved a lot of issues with my temperamental markers. I've been coming here for all my paintball needs and will continue to do so.

  • Trystin Stoneman

went in today to buy some new pants. showed me at least 5 different options and helped find the proper size especially with the way warrior sized goalie pants. walked out with the warror ritual pants great service beats big chain pricing also.

  • James Lozinski

I paid to have my skates sharpened and when I went skating my skates were Not sharp and I fell . I went back a few days later and they CHARGED me to sharpen again . They didn't even seem to care at all about their poor service . SHAMEFUL

  • Samuel Lema

I bought my first bike here 15 years ago. It was a Haro. I came this time for hockey tape. In another fifteen years I'll come for a hoverboard. Cuz I deserve it. But more importantly you deserve to support a local family business.

  • Rick Bolster

I bought a skate sharpening card for this store. Every time I got them sharpened I had to bring back the skates and complain the a edge was off and not sharpened properly. I’m done complaining,, I’ll take my skates somewhere els.

  • Ken Amirault

Took my grandson to get ice skates sharpened. While you wait service at a great price. Professional, courteous, knowledgeable staff. A great selection of new and used sporting equipment. Will definitely return again and again.

  • Long To

Not a good experience bringing my bike in for a tune up. It took a week longer than originally stated. Things just seen disorganized as I called 6 times during the time to see the status of my bike, it was always next in line

  • Mika Zuki

You guys are amazing. Why can't i give your store more stars cause 5 isn't enough. All i can complain about is please bring back the Airsoft and paintball equipment back. The price on everything is great and very reasonable.

  • Adib Kaddoura

The staff is amazing. They are fantastic and friendly. Very easy to deal with. Very knowledgeable. Some of the best sports equipment. High end. If you want cheap, don't shop here. If you want quality, shop here

  • Casey Johnson

We had initially gone to Allsports to get used ski equipment, but we couldn't resist the great selection and prices for the new skis for our kids. The store was really busy and we still got personal attention.

  • Carlo Cruz

A great place to pick up used skates. Went in not sure what to look for when picking skates for our son and the staff were very helpful and patient. I' definitely recommend Allsports Replay for used equipment.

  • Amy Weldon

Incredibly busy, the staff is pulled in so many directions. There's a younger lady working there that was so helpful, patient, and knew where everything was and what they had. Super impressed! Good prices too!

  • Steven Hennebury

Knowledgeable staff. Traded in the kids old skates and they each got a new pair(new to them). Can't beat the prices, fast and friendly service. The kids even had a little popcorn during our visit.

  • Canadianjay

Friendly helpful staff. I suited two kids up cheap cheap. And they gave me a credit voucher right away on my trades. A little cramped in the isles. Too bad the argyle outlet is no longer open.

  • Leanne Dumas

Staff were AMAZING! Our little is starting tee ball and they went through everything with us and made sure she has everything she needs. Here we come #PixiePirates thanks to Allsports & Cycle!

  • P M

Thank you Ryan! Helpful and patient. He took the time to help during a very busy phase of the day. Bought three hockey sticks at a fair price. Skip the big box shops and try local businesses.

  • Laurence MacKenzie

Great experience there today. It started off choppy with an inexperienced employee but the manager and Nordic ski tech helped out and their service was bang on. Would definitely recommend.

  • Denise

I'm brand new to learning how to ice skate so I went to purchase women's skates and a helmet. The man who helped me was helpful, knowledgeable and patient. I was treated well.

  • Sarah Tuininga

This is a great place to get good quality sports equipment for cheap. I've bought several pairs of second hand skis here, and they've both been great once they had a tune up.

  • Owen

Excellent experience and advice at this store. Bought some clearance ski equipment recently but had to go in to find tire changing tools for my bicycle. Ryan is the man!

  • Lee Martel
