Location Food ‍ Good for burger and chips and nice cocktails, not much else. To add some context we ordered 30 minutes before the kitchen closed so there might have been some difficulty in the kitchn, who knows? Had dinner at the restaurant with friends and the ambience and customer service was very good but more needs to be done in regards to food. The only meal that was enjoyable (from group feedback) was the burger and chips. I had the lemon and herb chicken souvalki for starters; a singular chicken skewer that was overly salty on a measly bed of ‘salad’. For mains I had the spinach and sweet potato curry, another mistake on my part as the rice also lacked taste. The curry was okay. A member of our party had the tiger prawn linguine. There was no actual taste to it and there definitely wasn’t any tiger prawns in the dish. When questioned about the lack of prawns (the shrimp wasn’t tiger prawn sized) we were told ‘that’s how it come’ One of the deserts (a banana waffle) was literally two slices of banana with a waffle. Wouldn’t really recommend.

Went for a cream tea on Valentine's day, it was absolutely delicious with a very nice balance of savoury and sweet. The prosecco was also lovely and not any old cheap rubbish. The welcome was warm and the building is impessive and very wheelchair friendly. Well done!

We stayed at The Clayton Hotel Birmingham for 2 nights it was so friendly, clean and felt very comfortable Staff top notch. Cannot praise them enough . The food that we had was beautiful salmon mmmmm. Will be going there again . Thankyou.

Lovely hotel, nice decor but not enough staff. Had to wait ages to get served at the bar and also to get seated for breakfast. Woman in charge was delightful but nevertheless, more staff needed to make flow quicker.

Alvar Bar is greatest bar. As I am tourist and very hungry They made me pizza for dinner at 23:00 1 hour after closing …
