So, this place seems nice when you walk in the door and see the lobby, sitting area, and bar. But it really stops there. The rooms themselves are cramped and poorly put together. The bed takes up the majority of the room, it's basically on the floor, and it's not at all comfortable. The room itself was at some point given the "landlord special" by someone who was most definitely not a professional. Every bit of it was sloppily coated in white paint, with several areas of the walls featuring running paint droplets and waves. The bathroom wasn't planned out well, and received the same sloppy treatment as the rest of the room. You can't even close the door while sitting on the toilet, there's not enough room. The room lacks any type of ammenities, you've got a bed, a tv, a desk and a bathroom. We only went to the restaurant once during our 1 week stay, and that's because it just wasn't very good. The food was mediocre, the staff couldn't be bothered to take orders, and they priced it all far too high for the quality we received. Overall, you're paying a lot for very little return if you stay here, and are charged for every little thing. The one benefit of staying here is that it's in a good area.

Surprised by this place. It looks nice in a sort of "classic" way. I may be wrong but It definitely looks like an hotel that's been operating for decades, but the room was pretty comfy and neat. Some people say it was cramped but for two people and a king size it was fine. The bed was more comfortable than anywhere else I been to. Had option of hard or soft pillow which I really appreciate. The area it is in is nice. Gold Coast. What else can you expect. Parking that isn't valet or residential hard to find, only real downside.

2 very safe blocks away from a very active bar area. Walgreens not too far for my needs.

The staff (including housekeeping) were super nice and accommodating. I am a bit of a germ freak and I was so happy when we got to the room. Everything was so clean and tidy. The room was also very nice and modern, including the bathroom which is important to me. The area surrounding the hotel was really calm and close to everything as well, I felt very safe. Daily housekeeping was excellent. I stayed there 6 weeks ago and I still think of my experience! I was hesitant at first based on some of the reviews but I'm extremely happy that I chose to stay at the ambassador!

Disappointed because there’s no view! I was looking forward to the balcony view in the pictures but they told me it’s a space for wedding. The hotel is a gem and the service employees were very nice. The small details are very important such as the need for night house keeping and also deep cleaning. The decor is amazing and gran but the distress mirrors need some help. The hardwood floors are beautiful but all their floors need a big polish. The rooms carpet is disgusting, the bathroom tile needs home whitening and grim removal. This is not a 4 or 5 hotel due to maintenance but it was a warm place to sleep.

I stayed for a week in a junior suite and found it very comfortable. The staff were always friendly and accommodating, welcoming and made for a relaxed atmosphere The rooms have large TVs that you can Chromecast to easily, plus a large selection of channels. The air conditioning was excellent and efficient and housekeeping superb. Toiletries and coffee were very good too. I kept intending to order breakfast but never did! The location is superb, in a beautiful neighborhood with good amenities nearby and just a short walk or ride downtown

There was barely anyone else staying at the hotel, yet there was no hot water. They said this is a known issue during the slow season. Area was quiet and felt safe. Employees were nice. Room was cute, but the beds and furniture are very low to the floor. Not a problem for us, but definitely could be for others. We were fortunate that there were few people staying at the hotel because the walls were thin and you could hear everything.

Per reading the reviews I was a little skeptical but decided to give them a try. Glad I did hotel was in a nicer area. The beds are low to the floor but still comfy & clean. The chair in the room was dirty. The curtains were a little stained. The air wasn’t a thermostat but attached to the wall & wouldn’t work or shut off. I was very cold. Nice breakfast spot around the corner. Overall I wouldn’t stay more than 1 night.

This hotel has a retro vibe that feels like going back in time. We thought the ruin was very spacious and comfortable and it had everything we needed. The staff were especially friendly and helpful. I would love to stay here again.

This is a great location, however, it was quite disappointing as a 4 star hotel. The rooms were small. The furniture was very low to the ground and uncomfortable. The bathroom has no ventilation. The shower curtain sucks in and sticks to you when you shower. Everything was clean and the staff was great, I'm just not sure it was worth the price.

I stayed here a year ago and I still think about it. I stayed for 3 days and had the best sleep. I thought it was just me but my friend said the same thing. The beds were so comfy. The staff was incredibly the nice and helpful. The location is in Gold Coast. It was super easy to walk to places or take the L. Cannot recommend it enough.
