Deposited on a Bed and sidetables, went ahead with purchase primarily based on the time frame. I was told 2-4 week delivery, most likely 2 as it was in stock, in warehouse. After week 4 I called to ask about it and was told that some of the pieces had already arrived but he( EJ )would call Vancouver to find out about the rest and call me back. I never heard another word. I then stopped into the store, week 5 to ask about our items and was helped by 2 ladies at the front desk, They did not believe me when i told them about my promised timeline. EJ, one of the origional salespeople was interjecting/shouting into the conversation by agreeing with me, re 2 week timeline and that both he and Renee mentioned to me, at the time of sale. He also admitted he forgot to call me back the week before and started shouting "just give her a refund" continually. I didn't want or ask for a refund. His response to my dissatisfaction was it was the manufacturers fault, he had no power to make it right, and while I requested some sort of compensation, he shouted "Why don't you just move to the Ukraine and see how you do without a bed" It's just a bed!!! Very aggressive, I was quite literally in shock, and so were his coworkers at the front desk that I was dealing with. Such a bizarre statement. They then called Renee, the other sales lady I had originally dealt with and said she would call me the next day. With a few back and forth conversations... She offered to have EJ, the salesperson who had been shouting at me, re Ukraine etc, do a free curbside delivery to my house..I refused this as I did not want this guy to know where I lived. She then offered to pay half of a white glove delivery to my house which was an additional 175.00 for me. I did not want to pay anymore money on top of the 3300 I was paying. During these conversations, she never once offered an apology for the delay in product(why did 1/2 come within the time frame, 1/2 didnt) I was then told to read the fine details on the back of the bill which relinquished them from any delivery time frame commitments. I was told that EJs behavior was based on Ukrainian cultural sensitivity(had nothing to do with furniture?) and that he was only human, again never received an apology. Felt like I was being punked that day in store, his behavior and dealing with a customer was so odd? It was also justified why he never called me back the first time I called to inquire 'because he does a lot around the store and shouldn't be answering the phones' What? Week 7, the rest of the items arrived. Joy was kind enough to call and let me know. The next day, I called in 1 hour before going to pick up, as i was not happy with any of the resolves offered. The gentleman(not EJ) on the phone said no problem, thank you. When I arrived at the front desk. to pay the balance on my order, Renee said to me, "well, did you call in". Does one hand not talk to the other? Side note, When I was repeatedly told in store "Just give her a refund" , I wasn't sure I would be getting my product. I contacted the manufacturer myself and was able to buy exactly what I wanted for approx 200.00 less DELIVERED, however because I would be waiting an additional 3 weeks, I elected to keep my original order. I would not buy from Amber's again I've given one star, as the quality of the furniture is amazing, customer service, and their ability to problem solve and guarantee satisfaction, terrible. After reading all of the reviews, it seems as though I'm not alone in my treatment and bizarre behavior. I wonder if the owners actually read these reviews, it seems as though a lot is only justified and only really warrants a response "if you've purchased something with us"

The store has great furniture. I have ordered twice in the last 18 years. The issue is their salesman. When we were there approximately a year-and-a-half ago, he would not give us any space to walk through the facility and was quite blunt and rude with us. I put this aside as I really wanted the custom-order table we ultimately purchased. We also purchased several other items at the same time. The owner was much better with us. He was positive and engaging. We returned a few weeks ago looking to purchase multiple pieces of custom-made furniture. We again dealt the same salesman (and only one). We tried several times to make it clear that we were happy to browse until we needed help. But this didn't seem to sit well with him. He didn't really want to let us out of his sight and I was actually quite uncomfortable with how close he stayed to us. He was quite blunt, judgemental, and rude with us until he learned that I had previously bought a very expensive table. My husband actually commented that he could see the change in the salesman. I have a real problem when someone treats me differently because of a specific fact or situation. You either treat me while or you don't . Based on this, we actually decided not to buy any further products from Amber's. I also understand that the salesman is commission. I think this impacts the cost of their Furniture offerings. I might return one day when there's different salespeople. But for now I'll take my business elsewhere. And that said, some other Furniture pieces seem to be quite excessive in price. So I'm actually looking at contracting someone to make pieces specifically for us for a much lower cost.

I purchased a $3000 sectional and I recieved it in Dec 2022. Here's my experience: - ordered light wood couch legs, recieved white. Light wood or whatever the actual product name was the only sample one on the floor and I bought it up to the counter with me to order so no way I asked for white. EJ said he'd get back to me to see what could be done in Dec. I emailed today to see if there's updates and he finally replies I only get black as the other option. Why offer something you can't provide for? It took 3 months to tell me this. - delivery day: the guys come right into my house with their muddy, snowy shoes all over my floors and carpets. Don't have all the equipment ready since they ask ME if I have an electric screwdriver for some part they forgot to remove in the warehouse. EJ had to come over (6 hours later) which I can give him kudos for but I had to miss a day of work instead of my half day planned since he said he was only going to take a couple hours - sales associate who penned the order for me at time of purchase (older gentleman) was sitting on one of their couches eating Doritos when I walked in, thought it was funny and let it slide but now I'm wondering if it was a sign that maybe this was going to be a bad idea.

We purchased a leather sectional from Amber’s with a gold warranty through their insurance Guardsman. Unfortunately, our cat ended up scratching the leather. Guardsman promptly sent a technician to fix the issue, but a couple of months later, the leather began to discolor. When we reached out to Guardsman for further assistance, they refused to send a technician. We decided to seek help from a private technician( who deals with Amber’s) he determined that the discolouration was a result of the previous technician spraying the leather when it actually needed a hand-painted approach. Guardsman, as usual, was unprofessional and refused to take responsibility for the issue. Amber’s tried to contact them , they got the same response .It was surprising to experience this level of customer service from a high-quality store like Ambers, which chose to use an unprofessional insurance provider. A good company would prioritize their customers' satisfaction and work to find a solution instead of leaving them unsupported and forced to fight with Guardsman on their own.

Someone i know recommended this store to us and had a great experience with a male customer service representative. However, our experience was vastly different. The white female at the customer service is rude! Looked at us as we entered and ignored us then proceeded to greet happily a white lady who entered 5 seconds before us, asking her how she was and how can she help and being very friendly. We were there for a few minutes and it was just us and that other customer in the store so it wasn’t like they were busy. It’s a pity, their furniture although expensive looked very sturdy and I almost liked a dining set but the experience put me off. It’s completely unacceptable. Treating people differently based on skin colour is disgusting.

I recently purchased a custom Deco-Rest sectional/sofa bed from Amber's Furniture. I found both of the gentlemen there extremely helpful. EG went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. He gave us plenty of advise and suggestions, but it never felt pushy. I felt like he genuinely wanted me to get the perfect couch for my situation. They also are very competitive when it comes down to pricing and have a huge show room with a great selection of Canadian made Deco-Rests (support local!:) And gorgeous wood furniture. I would definitely go back for future purchases. A special shoutout to the delivery team, who were very nice and professional. They made sure everything was put together and functional before they left.

We had Amber's furniture make us a custom Oak kitchen set 10+ years ago and it still looks wonderful...so naturally we went back to them to have a custom dining room set made. Susan our sales lady was so pleasant and easy to work with. She was very knowledgeable and patient in helping us put together our thoughts for our new set. Our set came this week and it is beautiful!! The workmanship is 2nd to none. It fits our dining room perfect and the color is so warm and inviting. We love everything about it!! I went to Amber's Furniture over the week end. They have in business for a long time. My parents bought a table there 30 years ago and still have it. So you know they have good stuff. We ended up buying a Decor-rest sofa they had in stock and got a great deal. We checked out other stores and the same sofa was priced higher. My wife was especially happy about that part. Big thanks to the Amber's staff and especially EJ who was very helpful and courteous. I guess you can say we are second generation shoppers and I highly recommend Amber's Furniture. They sell good quality that lasts.

We were thrilled with the final product for our bedroom suite here! Overall we found the quality of the pieces we received excellent, and had a very positive experience with the staff. I've shopped at competitors before (Birchwood) and had dented pieces show up and then be essentially ghosted by the staff with BS "explanations". Having a great team to deal with at Amber's, as well as what I believe to be a superior end product, was a breath of fresh air after that experience. We Amber's will absolutely be our first choice for all future pieces in our home.

This is a really fine solid wood furniture store in Calgary, even in Canada. I believe. They established this fine furniture store in this location over 30 years. Some of employees have been worked there over 30 years too. I bought all the main new made special order furniture there, included 4 set of bedroom, one dinning table set including 8 magnificent chairs, one set of fine real leather sofa, three set of home office desks, and four bookcases, etc. This is real fine furniture store can be trusted.

We bought our new kitchen table and chairs from Amber's. We went in many times to make sure we got what we wanted. Customer service was awesome. The table and chairs were custom made. The quality is top notch. The price was on the high end, but you really get what you pay for. Furniture arrived sooner than anticipated, so that was a nice bonus. The delivery personal were very professional and friendly. Was an overall great experience, and we are very happy with our new table and chairs.

The furniture seemed really expensive which was fine, but the show room smelled like old unwashed fabric. The paint job was weird, like they painted around furniture in some places, moved it and didn't want to repaint. It just didn't look very put together and most recliner couches weren't plugged in so we couldn't even test them. Just a weird space that I wouldn't go back to, but the furniture was definitely fine, they had cool wood pieces!

Joy and Shauna provided excellent customer service throughout my entire experience. Joy continuously stayed in close contact with the manufacturer of my order giving me updates a long the way. The two of them went even further by going out of their way to accommodate my pick up time and be a very helpful hand while loading may order. The two are great assets to this store. Ordered 2 bed frames from EJ at Amber's. Made in Canada, took a few weeks to arrive. During assembly I noticed the manufacturer forgot a few slats from each package. Called Amber's and they made the missing slats for me immediately. Really great service. Would recommend to others and I will be going back.
