Unacceptable wait times! Called a cab to get home. Waited over a hour and started walking because I needed a drink after spending an hour in the sun. Stopped for food and drink and again called a cab though did so prior to eating in hopes it'd be there within a reasonable time frame once done. Of course not! I went across the road to a bus stop to wait to see what would arrive first. Perfectly willing to take the taxi, should it actually arrive before bus. Bus was 20-25 minutes from being to that stop. I saw taxi pull in as the bus was pulling away from the stop. Another experience...Rude company all the way around. Dispatch and drivers. Dispatch didn't seem to care because I couldn't recall the car #. Hung up on me midway through the call. Driver argued on site when I made what I thought was an innocent and constructive comment that the child seat had no way to be secured and wasn't safe in that particular vehicle. Him ending with a challenging "Who do you think you are?!?" being nearly screamed at me. I'm a parent that was responsible enough to learn how to properly and safely install a child seat before that child was born, I know my stuff and I'm not afraid to speak up. Thankfully my little one is just big enough to ride without a seat because there was no way I was using a seat that wasn't anchored in (hatchback with no anchor points) and with a non locking seatbelt. "It locks when I brake" he tells me. Not good enough! Needs to be secure at all times! Then midway through the trip, he turned to begin again, verbally attacked me while driving instead of focusing on the road. Seriously?!? All over my saying the child seat had no way to lock in securely and he shouldn't have it in that particular car.

I had a team of eleven (11) coming from Vancouver, BC to do outreach to local schools and needed transportation for three (3) days including: -pick up from airport and drop off at hotel -pick up from hotel to school (40 minute drive) -pick up from school to hotel (40 minute drive) -pick up from hotel and drop off at airport I had booked the above reservations 2.5 weeks in advance of the needed time, and provided my credit card over the phone so that the team didn't need to provide any payment. I was also okay with whatever payment they decided to charge. When booking, the person on the phone confirmed that we would have two (2) vans and that they'd be on time. Amey's showed up for the airport pick up - but said that they didn't have the credit card on file. One of my team members had to pay out of pocket (no big deal), and sent me an e-mail to call them in the morning re: credit card. The next morning, the team had to be at a school to provide special outreach - which they could not be late for. Amey's didn't show up. When a team member called Amey's to find out where they were, Amey's said that they didn't have two vans available. Amey's knew how important this was (as I had explained our situation to the booker 2.5 weeks prior), and I even gave them the team leads contact details as well as my own. As soon as I came into the office, I called Amey's and cancelled all future reservations. I didn't receive an apology or anything over the phone. Highly unprofessional.

This is the lesser of a several bad experiences with this company. Rude driver that argued most of the ride simply over my saying that there was no way to safely anchor in or secure a car seat into that particular car as the seat belt didn't lock and in a hatchback, no anchor hooks. "But the seatbelts lock...." Tested several times, no, they did not!!! At pickup, extremely rude! Argued about the seat with a parent that learned carefully how to install a seat safety. Had I not been headed to an appointment, I'd have called for another taxi. For the duration of the ride (across town, 15 minutes approximately) I was subjected to his turning around from happily talking to the front passenger to randomly snapping at me and trying to argue. (I was facing away from him, talking quietly to my child, trying not to draw his attention) He continued his ranting even with my trying to ignore his presence and asking, nearly begging him to please stop, especially in front of my child. Telling him that he should be focusing on driving, not on me, did nothing. Reminding him he should not being a poor face for his company and causing a scene in front of a child or any customer did nothing. He simply would not stop!! I had left home happy and smiling and that quickly changed. I arrived at my destination feeling verbally abused by the driver. Very unacceptable behavior!! I was never so thankful to get out of a taxi. Would NOT recommend Ameys. Many cars and/or drivers smell funky and many rude, unhelpful drivers.

I would just like to say that one of your drivers (and I am kicking myself now that I didn’t register his number) made my day today. I am quite heavily pregnant and took a walk across Queen’s campus to down by the waterfront to try and get some exercise during my lunch break. I was trying to cross back over the road near the junction on King St. W and St. Lawrence Avenue. I know I should have walked to a cross walk, but I was exhausted and just wanted to cross the road safely and get back to work avoiding the detour to the crosswalk. Your driver made a special effort to stop for me and ensure that I could cross the road safely. Later while further into campus I saw him parked, presumably waiting for a passenger, ( I think I was back on Stuart st. by then). I had a chance to thank him and told him it was greatly appreciated as I was very tired, he was so kind and courteous saying that he was glad he could make me smile and that it’s a busy stretch of road I tried to cross so he wanted to make sure I was safe. Although he couldn’t have known it, I was feeling awful, so this small act of kindness made a HUGE difference to my day. I wasn’t a passenger of his or needing a taxi, he was just being considerate, but guess which taxi firm I’ll be calling next time I need one?! Sorry I didn’t get his name, but if you are able to figure out who he is, please thank him for me. This gentleman is a great advert for Amey’s taxis and I appreciated his kindness greatly.

Absolutely horrible customer service the The dispatcher was extremely rude when there was an issue and showed not one ounce of care. They have an unreliable service I finally made it to my Destiination and went to go use my credit card the system would not even let me put the card in after explaining to the driver that his machine wasn’t working the only option given was to drive me across town to an ATM to take cash out on a card that doesn’t allowed me to take cash out. When I called and asked for assistance the first dispatcher I talked to said there’s nothing I can do when I need to pay my bill. when I spoke to a different representative he gave me the option to leave my card information and pay that way. I thought finally that works after sitting in the car for 20 extra minutes at my Destiination. But nope he contact the driver and tells him My car doesn’t work. when I called my bank to see if there was an issue they say there’s no problem I call the place back again and he had typed the information in wrong and was making me sit there and sit there for a $13 bill when it’s their issue of not having working systems. The whole time I was being told that I need to pay my bill I need to pay my bill and that my card was declining I’m not able to afford my bills when it was their system and their incompetence. I wish I could give no stars. Disgusting.

One of their drivers backed into my 94 year old Mothers garage door, damaging it beyond repair. Amey's Taxi would not take any responsibility for the damage saying that we had to deal directly with the driver. Dealing with the driver was a whole other story, he was belligerent and wouldn't take full responsivity for the replacement of the garage door, forcing her to go through insurance at no fault of hers. Not good how you treat your elderly customers, or any for that matter!! Wow, your response says it all. You don't take responsibility, you misrepresent the truth and you deflect the blame to the victim. The truth is, the garage door was not in rough condition, the driver hit the garage door, you did not pay the full deductible amount and we did not "demand" cash. All we had asked is that you took full responsibility and replace the garage door as it was unfixable. We found the owner of the car to be very rude, it was not a good experience for my 95 year old mother to deal with him, mine as well. Amey's should have stepped in here and taken full responsibility, this was no fault of hers and forcing her to go through her insurance and pay out of her own pocket was not the right thing to do. I would like to see how you would feel if this happened to your elderly mother.

Review on driver # 827 / I ordered a taxi to a hotel and I asked dispatcher to tell driver to come to the back of the hotel, he said ok, no problem . When my driver came I was standing outside one of the rooms at the back of the hotel. When my driver got here he quickly drove by the back of the hotel and didn’t even stop to look for me just drove by quickly , I was running behind the car and he still didn’t see me he drove all the way around to the front of the hote near the main entrance and just parked and he’s just playing on his phone with no care , I asked him why didn’t u stop at the back I was waving you down he just shrugged his shoulders didn’t even apologize ..... that’s fine , when I get bad service I don’t tip so when he dropped me off at my destination my ride was 13.25 i gave him a 20 bill and waited for my change .... I could u not I was in the back seat for back seat for an extra 4 mins because he was looking for change , he finally gave me 5 .00 I asked for the rest he looked at me and tried to argue he had no change .. he finally gives my 1.75... the nerve some of these taxi drivers is beyond me , I tip only if you can provide good service and have respect try again .

Edit 1: In response to the owner trying to shift blame to me, of course I always check because I don't trust any of your driver's. I have had multiple bad experiences with them giving me bad information in regards to things such as child seat being installed properly, or the "quickest" route which always ends up being a route which is more profitable for them. My review was a warning to other parents who might not realize that the drivers do not care if our children are injured or not. Don't try and blame the customer for your employees misleading them Also, I posted this well over a month ago. Laughable that it took you this long to think of a response. On another note, why do your driver's only wear masks when the customer enters the vehicle? I've seen multiple maskless drivers around town Original: An amey's driver once told me to always check the car seats. Today I had a driver assure me multiple times that the car seat was installed properly. As soon as I got in the cab, I check the belt and of course it was not even locked. Don't trust a word the driver's say, always check it yourself.

I had one bad experience and made a call to complain about the quality of service. I have since had cabs either show up extremely late (30-45 mins) or not at all. Further calls warrant no results with these people... They will call a cab from 15 minutes away when their app shows 4-6 cabs three minutes around the corner from my house in a local plaza. Being blacklisted for not getting the service I am willing to pay for and NOT receiving is absurd. I have had to call and complain multiple times since this incident and have lost all faith in this company delivering me a reliable or punctual ride anywhere. If you use this company, do not expect reliable customer service. The drivers don’t know where they are going half the time and the dispatch doesn’t care about you getting picked up in a reasonable amount of time. Call ModernCity or take the bus, bike or walk. Don’t give these guys more money when they don’t care to reciprocate it to the customer in any way. **Screwed over too many times and been late to too many work shifts & social events that I refuse to call them anymore. **

My son got an Amey's cab this week. When they arrived at his destination, his card would not work in the machine (he used it immediately before the ride, and immediately after, so the problem was with the machine). The driver demanded his cell phone as a surety (or hostage) and told him that he could go to the office (a minimum 30 minutes away by bus) and get his phone when he paid. He should have refused, but he's still young and not great with conflict. He called the office the next morning, but the owner said that he had to come to the office to get his phone, they would not bring it to him. He did that, because he needed it before going to work that day Good to know that the management are backing up their drivers even when they commit extortion. The driver should have taken him to an ATM or found another way for him to pay, since the problem was on there end, not my sons. A very negative experience, but a learning opportunity for my son about standing up for himself against bullies. We will never use Amey's again.

I got a worst experience today , the guy who was answering the phone call was rude and serve in a attitude . They are supposed to be polite while customer communication . But the driver was really nice and he greated in a kind and polite way . Later on oct 31st , the driver drop me off half of the way and started yelling at me when i told him to turn right to reach my place . The driver was so rude and aggressive and pulled the pink slip away from my hand with anger . I was scared and called the amys but lady was not even nice to respond as she was favoring driver . Driver doesnot havd the address on screen . I told him i will give you directions to go he was not ready to listen and drive so aggressively . I dont feel safe going with amys taxi with such a driver . I call amys since january i am here in kingston . This is the only time i have trouble none of the other driver reacted to me like this . This driver is not safe to go with at all .

Dispatcher earlier today was quite ignorant Completly unacceptable and needs to refresh on customer service training You are obligated to serve customers who call for a service you provide.. such as a car seat. Take care of your customers and they will support your business. Having a txt msg come thro saying your cab is arrived and its no where to be seen and seeing tons of other cabs show up is even more frustrating.. Will definitely be taking less cabs from ameys after this... Your customers are #NotObligated to continue using your service either when your dispatcher is rude ... Since the drivers are friendly and good people im not giving this 1star even tho i really want too after this experience. Almost as bad as the time modern hung up when was waiting an hour and a half in a thunder storm and i called back to see where my cab was .. Was a loyal ameys customer since that day. Very disappointing

Everytime I've given Amey's taxi a chance I've received poor service, they have constantly let me down. I've waited 30+ minutes for a taxi on a really slow day, and when I called back to check on the wait time of the taxi, the dispatcher told me he would cover the fare, and would dispatch a taxi closer to my location to pick me up, and when the taxi got me to my location I was asked to pay the bill and explained to the taxi driver what the dispatcher told me, and I had to call the taxi company to prove what I was saying was true, but another dispatcher that answered the phone said that they never offer to cover the bill for any reason, and I told him to check with the other dispatchers, and he had me on hold for 10 mins, and after a while the driver told me it was okay. The dispatcher left me on hold for more than 15 mins. And I then hung up the phone in frustration, never again will I use Amey's taxi.

First off the only reason I'm giving a 2 star is because their amazing drivers deserve 2 stars. The company itself deserves 0 for how they're run. I called ahead 3 days in advance to book a taxi 1 hour ahead of when my train departed to go home to see my kid. The train is a measly 18 minute ride away. I also requested a van but said anything I could get would be fine (lots of luggage). Not only did they not reserve a taxi for my timing as they said they would, they changed the driver 3 times. By the time they arrived I'd been waiting over 40 minutes and ended up missing my train, making me have to sleep at the airport overnight and incurr over $200 in flight changes. If it weren't for the fact they're only one of two cabs, and sadly the better of the two I'd never use their service again. I feel bad for their drivers who have always been extremely kind and accommodating.

I am extremely dissatisfied with this service as Amey's caused me to miss my train to Toronto to catch my flight home. I called Amey's the night before to reserve a cab for 11 am the next morning for my train at 11:30. The next morning I called three times between 10:50 and 11:15 to make sure my cab was coming and each time the person on the phone assured me the car was on the way and told me the car on the way was car 42. At 11:10 I watched car 42 pass my house. I called again and they reassured me it was coming. After more waiting I had a friend drive me to the station, however my train had already left. I never recieved a call from the cab saying my car had arrived, therefore if I hadn't found a seperate way to the station I never would have gotten there. Amey's is extremely unrealiable and I will not be using this service again.

[PICTURES INCLUDED] Pretty disappointed in my taxi ride yesterday & Amey's customer service. I had to roll down the window, stick my head out, and avoid breathing through my nose due to the bad car smell. The cleanliness inside was also poor (check out the pics) The whole car was this dirty.. even the debit machine. I left the ride smelling horrible and with stuff stuck to my pants. I took a taxi to enjoy some drinks at my birthday dinner but I wish I would have just driven myself and not had my appetite ruined. I wrote a complaint on their site & a man called me to say that multiple people "Couldn't smell anything" and the inside "Wasn't dirty but maybe could use a wipe down on the doors" He did not offer me a refund, future discount, or even an apology. Brutal! Guess their standards of "clean" are pretty low.

I will not again take an Ameys taxi for transportation Plexiglass scree dirty. Cab was dirty. Driver nonchalant and unhelpful- disregard apparent. No greeting . Parked the cab a considerable distance from the doorway necessitating a walk by a passenger who uses a cane . Drove away before the seatbelt was fastened and continued to drive creating additional difficuly getting the seatbelt fastened. Seemed annoyed at the passenger. Took a very convoluted route to the destination. The cost of the fare on the monitor was 10,00 . Charged 11.00 In my view a very nasty man. If this is the quality of your drivers , spare me. The cab ride was at 3:30 pm from Crown Collsion to the Herkimer so that you can check if you choose. At one point your cab company reputation was negative. Nothing seems to have changed Meryl Smith

0 STARS IF I COULD, called for a van twice first time he left never got a notification about it arriving called back was told he left asked if they could call the next time when arrived because I had to put my baby in his stroller and car seat and didn’t want to be waiting in the cold forever with him and they said their automated system doesn’t work well when they are busy (Well fix it then and make it work!) He told me to make sure I watch for it this time just in case so I did saw it pull in went to get my kid in the stroller and out the door and then watched the cab pull away again not even 7 mins later. You guys are an absolutely awful company have had so many bad experiences with you but this will be the last one! HOPE UBER ENDS UP PUTTINF YOU OUT OF BUSINESS

Honestly I can’t say enough about this company! But what made me do a review today is the experience I not only have pretty much every day by the operators but this past Saturday I book a cab like I do most days and of course there is no promising your cab will be there.. which mine is pretty much on the time I pre order it.. but I got in the cab on my way to work (in healthcare) and I heard the lady whom works weekends say to the drivers “guys people need to get to work”. Honestly she doesn’t even have to care about people being on time for work but the fact that she does its so respectful! Great job to you and all the other operators that make sure people are getting to the places they need especially to work! Y’all are amazing!

TERRIBLE!! By far the worst experience I've ever had with a Taxi company. They drove right by my house and when I called them to ask if they could come back the dispatcher argued with me, talked over top of me and told me I had MY OWN address wrong and that it did not exist! It was seriously the worst customer service I've ever had & it caused me to be late. DO NOT rely on this company. The dispatcher told me my address didn't exist, which is just crazy. He was VERY rude and inconsiderate, he even told me to just call another taxi company, so I did. City Taxi saved the day, I would recommend City Taxi. I will never call Amey's again! I can't believe they are even able to stay in business with this type of attitude & rude service.

There is a reason most people say one star. Modern taxi at least has respectful drivers. Ameys cab driver with 791 on the side of the car laughed in my face when I asked for a ride. Than he yelled at me when I challenged him saying it's dangerous to leave woman downtown on the side of the road. He said it was his cab and he makes the rules. He yelled at a girl who was half his age of not more about what he said was safe. I've never felt more humiliated in my life. I was scared and uncomfortable but he said he would kick me out of the cab if I challenged him which at 2am downtown would be worse than this guys wrath He should not be driving ANYONE around let alone women. I can't believe this company employs people like this.

I have been taking this taxi company for years but lately I am really not impressed. If I could give them no stars whatsoever trust me I would. My husband had a rude taxi driver and we had to wait for a taxi for half an hour to an hour both ways from home and our Sons Nursery School. Then when we complained to the owner the owner blamed my husband. And said it was his fault and that he has never had a problem with this driver in the 20 years that the driver has been working for him well I'm here to tell you that if a driver is rude to a customer that driver should be reprimanded so be very careful if you call in for a complaint on a driver you will be blamed for it I guess that's just the way amey's rolls.

Took a cab last night and my friend got sick out the window ( driver never attempted to stop) and a tiny bit was on the inside of the door and the driver locked us in and wouldnt let us out till we payed $80 for clean up .... seriously?!!!! It would have taken a wet wipe to clean it up and maybe a little water on the outside of the door definately wouldn't cost $80!!!! We even offered to clean it but the driver was rude. We will never use Ameys service again which we both have done many times in the past. Might as well have just thrown up inside the car to have to pay that amount!!! Not impressed with this company at all. Hope your $80 was worth the many fares you won't be getting anymore!!!

I will definitely be recommending them to anyone who needs a cab in Kingston. I recently injured myself in a way that temporarily limited my mobility and made it very challenging to walk. I required three taxi rides in one day, and got three different drivers. All three were very friendly and helpful, and were all very quick to arrive. One of my destinations was an office in a building we were both unfamiliar with, and my driver volunteered to go inside to make sure it was the right place, so that I didn't have to limp around the wrong part of the building. I will definitely be using Amey's Greenwood Taxi again, and highly suggest it to anyone who needs a Taxi in Kingston for any reason.

I called yesterday to reserve a car for 1000 today, to take me from Amherstview to the train station, for my 1100 train. It’s a 30 minute drive in snow conditions. I called again at 0930 this morning to confirm, which they did. I called again at 1015, and a cab had still not been dispatched for me. The cab got here at 1040, and I had to send him away. I feel bad for the cab driver, but told him to notify the dispatcher, as it’s their lack of coordination that caused this. I was told on the third call that calling early for a pickup doesn’t guarantee the time of arrival. Figure it out, Amey’s, because that should be your business model. Hopefully Uber will expand to Amherstview soon.

Best Taxi company in Kingston, I have always used Amey's when I need a taxi to get somewhere. I only have one complaint, which is when I called to confirm my taxi booking for 2:15 p.m. to go to Milestones from 523 Portsmouth Avenue, your dispatcher told me, there was no booking, yet I booked more than a week in advance. She talked to someone named Bill, and then she scrolled down further on the computer and saw it. Do you guys not look by scrolling further down on your computer before you tell a regular customer that they do not have a booking? Very frustrating going through that tonight. She did apologize for that by the way.

This company has gone so downhill in the last month, it’s unbelievable. I’ve used Amey’s weekly for almost 6 years and sadly the standard of service has declined significantly. Recently it seems that they’ve implemented a new phone/dispatch system that makes it nearly impossible to get through; I literally spent 15 minutes on “hold” last week and never ended up getting through. The only way to actually book a taxi is to use the app which could definitely use some work (buggy GPS). I was hung up on tonight when I tried to complain about the decline in service standards, so I will no longer be using Amey’s.

Absolutely terrible. Very unreliable to judge when the taxi will arrive and sometimes it won't ever arrive. I've had times when they won't give me the change and assume I'm giving them a tip. I was on crutches and they wouldn't help me into the car or open the door. One driver actually said "get in limpy" because I have a limp when I walk. Most of them will purposely take a longer route or keep the meter running longer to charge you extra. One driver took me to the wrong door of a building (non accessible) and then argued with me and refused to drop me off at the door I wanted. Terrible service.

I used Amey's this morning to get to work, when my car wouldn't start. My driver was " Mike Dillon "- car #105. He tried giving us a boost but the car still wouldn't start, so he took me to work. I was an hour late for work (@ no fault of Mike's) and I was extremely stressed on the way there. Thanks to Mike's courteous, professional & friendly manner, I arrived at work in a totally positive & relaxed mood. People like Mike make the world a happier place and they need to be told that ! So a big thank you to- Mike Dillon -for turning my morning from a very bad start to an excellent day !

I read a bunch of reveiws saying this taxi was awful but I thought I'd give you the benifit of the doubt. Only one of the taxi drivers is actually nice or friendly. I used this cab many time during my stay in Kingston and everytime it took over 20 minutes minimum for the cab to show up. I waited outside times for half an hour for the taxi, that I could see sitting in the parking lot three buildings over doing nothing but drinking coffee. It's ridiculous. If you guys are going to text to say the cab is on the way at least make sure the cab is actually on the way.

As my summer comes to an end and I’m back to school again on Saturday I just wanted to give a shoutout to Amey's Taxi. More specifically to the best wheelchair-accessible cab drivers Tammy and Shawna. If it wasn’t for them it would’ve made a long summer even longer whether it was just for a fun trip to see friends or to a medical appointment at one of the local hospitals they always made sure I got where I needed to be on time and with the best service. Friday Feb 16th at 3:50pm your driver #601 Toyota hybrid ran a red light. Cutting me off then cutting another person off bath rd from the east then going up gardiners rd north. I went around him cause he was driving like a idiot. We're he then decided to shake his head at me like I did wrong. And as I was saying stuff to him he just laughed and taunted me untill I snapped a photo. Then his attitude changed and tried then acting like i was the one in the wrong. He's a unstable idiot of a driver. Plain and simple. Really makes your business look good.

My dad is in a wheelchair and we have tried numerous times to get a wheelchair taxi for his appointments but unfortunately they are always booked and you cannot pre-book wheelchair taxis I feel that this is unacceptable. They advertise that they are wheelchair accessible transport but then they don’t have transport available the only two options in the city of Kingston is taxi or access bus and if you’re not approved for the access bus then the only option is taxi and when the taxi company is not available either it makes things very difficult.

Just had to send my kids to school by cab and not only did the cabbie take the longest possible way around charging my kids way more then necessary but when I called about it Amys’s costumer service did absolutely nothing and blamed me for not properly mapping out the route for the driver. I have never had to map it out before and have never had such a rude experience with them. Shame on them for ripping off children. I also attached the routes that googles maps shows to take which is what they normally do vs the route they chose to take.

I called for a cab, after 20 minutes and no cab I called and some had made a mistake that no one seemed to care about, and had to wait for a second cab, this caused me to be late for work which means they caused me to lose money. I called to speak to the owner MARK to file my complaint when I asked for MY money back instead of amey's taxi coupons (why would I use this company again??) the owner, so maturely HUNG UP on me and I called back and he has kept me on hold for close to an hour now. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED

Used the Amey's app to book a pickup time for 530pm (with nearly 40min notice) and ended up cancelling the call at 630pm when a cab had still not arrived and I was already 30min late for a work event. If experiencing delays at least they could notify you when you are choosing a pickup time so you can adjust accordingly. I called amey's twice while I was waiting and was told after the first 30min that I was the next call in my zone. 30 min later I was too late for it to be appropriate to attend my event and cancelled my call.

I spoke with management and they seemed nice and appear to have done their job. I'm leaving a bad review because this cab driver followed me around yesterday after almost hitting me. Was cursing and swearing at me because I told him to pay attention and I was going to report him. " they refused to take him off the road that night". The dispatcher said she couldn't do that. Then he ended up causing an accident. Management was nice tho. He also caused an accident tho. So they probably should have taken him off.

One of their drivers called me this morning asking for my address saying he couldn't locate me. After I told him I was doing house cleaning and didn't call for a cab, he asked if I was joking and pursued by yelling at me with a threatening voice saying I owed him $10 caused I made him lose a fair. A person can't make this up. I then made their office aware of the incident. There lake of empathy or eagerness to address the issue was disgusting to say the very lease. Avoid thos guys at all cost! Use UBER folks!

I left my brand new shirt in a shopping bag in the trunk and forgot to get it with my other bags in the back. I called back 15 minutes after I got out of the cab and they said it wasn’t there anymore. It didn’t just disappear and they didnt help in any other way. My friend who used this company said something similar happened to him. Either they keep forgotten/lost items or they don’t want to drive back to return it. Will never use this cab company again. Very disappointed in the customer service.

I've been using this company for a while now. I take a cab everyday pretty much and was about $200 a week. I left my phone in the car or fell out of my pocket. I have to go to the office no or pay $25.25 to have it delivered. Such bs. What a great way to show how courteous you are. I'll be switching company's unless u can fix this. Not impressed. I now work at a place where cabs are used quite often and I'm the one who call for cans for customers. Never again will I refer u to my customers.

The operator was very rude and basically told me they couldn't send a cab to my location because I didn't have the exact address, which is bullshit because I call Modern every night and they will come when I call them. When their cab finally did come the driver spelled of nothing but pot and kept the windows opened the whole time (and it's cold at 2am in November). Wouldn't call them again. Wouldn't even reccomend them to anyone. Rude service is not good service by any means.

This cab company is absolutely useless, don’t call unless you expect to be hung up on. Ordered a taxi on the app and they went to wrong place. Called then told us we ordered to wrong spot even though we had the address on the app. Told us to “flag down a cab then” when called back they hung up and tried to call back and wouldn’t answer. Thank god for modern city. Picked us up instantly if you need a cab cal modern city! They’re best in town! Don’t use this garbage company.

Pathetic, The driver quickly cancelled the meter as we were approaching the via station (my estimate is around $11). And told me it was $14 flat. The price was still reasonable, but because of his shady tactics it took 25 minutes before i could leave. The person who was helping him figure out how to take the payment also thought this was suspicious. I wouldve probably given him $15 with the tip and surcharge. Its pretty sad these poor old dudes have to rip kids off.

I wish i could give no starts. My friend forgot her babys bottle in the backseat,and the man told her it was not there and she had to pay for him to come back to look. Being a mother is difficult as it is and having someone who is rude and looking for more money is just plain ignorant. This is why people are using Uber because your Uber driver will actually come back for free let you check their car or return the item you guys need to step up and take ownership.

Terrible customer service, I had called a cab for a lady who needed a wheel chair accessible cab, after 45 minutes of this poor lady sitting in my store and waiting with her grocery’s I call to get an estimated eta on when it will arrive , dispatch proceeds to tell me they are busy and hangs up. Can’t believe there are even people that use this company especially when there are much better options. Would not recommend to anyone, shameful business practises.

Used them for the very first time since moving to the area. Called and spoke to the dispatcher who was very kind and polite and asked for a taxi to my residence. Received a text message a few minutes later telling me that a vehicle has been dispatched and the car arrived a few minutes later. The driver was very kind, polite and we had a great conversation. I can honestly say that the whole experience was a pleasant one, and would use their services again.

Amey's is the best taxi company in Kingston. I haven't had had many issues with them. Until now that is. The reason I'm giving them three stars is because after telling one driver I didn't need help, he took it upon himself to take my daughter OUT of her stroller. He did that in the five seconds it took me to put her blanket into the car and turn around to get her. She does not take kindly to strangers and I was severely unimpressed by this.

I called once and three taxis drove by us, without clients in the car, they made eye contact with us but kept driving, a group of 4 outside a restaurant at 12:00am and we're the only crowd and it's raining, I'd like to think we looked like we called a taxi. Then we called again and said we had a couple taxis drive by and asked for another one then they hung up on us. So we just called another company. Two thumbs down 0/10 would not recommend

Normally great. I love the pay through app as it is one less stresser for me and a time saver. Now that this isn’t working and I can no longer book any trips because of it (it won’t even let me book in app unless I unselect payment) I am thinking of switching to another service where it does work. It’s just inconvenient and disappointing. Especially when it makes me late to work because it suddenly stops working the way it always has.

I ordered a taxi in advance before my flight to take me to the airport at 3:30 am for a special meeting. And instead of being there on time, the driver was late by 25 minutes and I ended up being very late. Sure the people where nice and the driver was great but the company time management of its drivers need to be better managed. I will never use their service again. I recemoend against using this cab. Just take an uber much easier.

We ordered a cab ahead of time to go from East end of Kingston to the train station. The cab arrived a bit late but within reason. When we opened the door the cab was filthy. Old dried up dirt in the door frames, dried up dirt on the floor, dirty seats and the cab driver played his music too loud. He also needed a lesson on safe braking and gentle turns onto highway 401 from highway 15. I will not be using this cab company again.

Horrible customer service and un-reliable service Called for a cab and never got a notice that they were at my address, called to then book another cab and stood in the entrance way waiting for cab but after another 30min passed I called to be rudely told that the cab had come on gone and that I should have been more attentive. Not the first time I've had problems with amey's Taxi will definitely be switching to another service.

I've been nearly run over by too many of their drivers over the years to not write this review. Most recent guy ran stop sign at Victoria and Union as I walked into intersection at 12:56 pm on 30 Aug 2015 - and he had nerve to yell at me. Their moto might as well be: Amey's Taxi - we'll either get you there on time - or 90 minutes late waiting to fill out a police report with a chance to testify in court at a later date!

I called for a taxi in the morning to arrive at a certain time (1030 am ) and they never showed up at the time i scheduled it for. I called the dispatcher and the lady didnt even make an effort to find out where the cab is or how long it will take, she was so chill meanwhile i was aaout to miss my train becasue they cant schedule a taxi for a time request :(((( Not happy with their service or customer care

I mean, you just never know with Ameys. Sometimes they answer and arrive on time and everything's fine. Other times they don't dispatch your car, your car is late, or like today just flat out hang up on you without answering the phone. This stuff has happened multiple times. Fine if your willing to wait or not in a rush, not worth the risk if you got a train to catch or need to be somewhere on time.

He's not only an excellent driver, but he was friendly, personable, and overall provided me with an experience over and above what I would ever have expected from any taxi company. Well done, Mark. If you live north of Kingston like me and take the train from time to time this is worth a read. I discovered today that the cab fare from the town where I live to the VIA rail train station and back is cheaper than parking for my vehicle for 7 days at the train station. It's a win-win! My car stays in its garage and I get a relaxing ride into town and back after my train trip.

Currently listening to their waiting service ringtone. And this is not an isolated event. It will happen at any time of the day or night, they just don't answer. They just don't guys, so don't call here for a taxi! It won't come!

Last night I was in Kingston and took this cab back to a friends house. I hadn't realized at the time, but my wallet had fallen out of my purse. Within two minutes, the cab driver had knocked on my door to hand me my wallet. Those things don't happen very often and it is great that he checked the backseat before pulling away. A true gentleman and I am very thankful!

Terrible and aggressive drivers. Can't count how many times I have been cut off or tailgated by these cab drivers. And I am not a slow driver. My wife almost got rear ended by one of the drivers following to close. Traffic in front came to a stand still and she had to swerve into an empty lane to avoid getting rear ended. And apparently had a fare in the vehicle.

Terrible service. Not only are they always late but they almost always have an attitude when you call in asking for a taxi, like I’m sorry for helping your dusty business thrive? I’d rather crawl fully naked for 30 miles on broken shards of glass under the scorching sun whilst listening to Jake Paul’s music than spend even 30 seconds on the phone with them.

I watched one of your drivers cause an accident yesterday out front of my house. Then scream and yell at the attending police offer. It is very disturbing that you hire people like this. You should do a better job vetting your employees. I also saw one of your drivers smoking in his vehicle and it smelt like Marijuana at the memorial center last week.

Awesome experience lastnight. Fiance's car broke down (and her phone conveniently died at the same time). I was able to give approximate directions to dispatch over the phone and they were able to find her stranded on the side of the road. Had a cab there in less than 10 minutes. Driver was super friendly, too. Great company that saved us in a pinch.

Booked a taxi from cataraqui mall for a patient at 1: 40pm Thursday on April 4th and was very disappointed with the lady on the phone. She was very very rude as if she owns thats place. Sorry to say but i will never recommend Amey's again so that people doesn't have to talk to these kind of stubborn people on the telephone and spoil your day. Thanks

I called ahead to ask them to pick up my son for an early morning bus trip to Toronto (so timing was critical!). I received an automated text showing that the taxi was on its way, and they delivered him to the bus station from Queen's for $16 (Uber wanted $60 at that time of the morning!!). Excellent service - best taxi company I've dealt with.

This company is garbage. I normally don't write reviews like this but I can see why taxis are a thing of the past now. Do yourself a favor if you value your time and get an Uber. Amey's Greenwood Taxi Ltd has forgotten me about 4 times now. Waiting 40 mins is ridiculous for a "sorry well send a new 1 right now". If its raining just forget it.

worst experience ever. I was waiting at the toyota dealer shop for 40 mins and nobody shows up. They claimed that they sent a driver, and it is my fault don't recognizing them from all the other cars coming and going. But man I was the only one standing outside? I will recommend modern taxi instead. they are much more professional and polite.

Driving my car I accidentally delayed an Amy Taxi in the Metro, bottom of Gardeners Road, for 20 sec. He was driving unnecessarily fast, blew his horn at me and yelled at me that I somehow managed to deliberately hold him up. It takes one impatient, mean driver to undo all of your advertising. I will not use or recommend Amy's Taxi. Doug

Have had a good experience over all with Ameys. Almost always prompt and drivers are almost always polite. In saying that though, we we've had a couple of drivers that have engaged in racist talk which made me and my spouse quite uncomfortable. But there are always a few bad apples everywhere and we would still highly recommend Ameys.

Amy's drivers are among the worst. I, as the pedestrian had the right of way at a stop sign and the cab driver did not come to a stop and proceeded on through. I had to stop and back up so as ti not get hit. The driver waved at me as he went by. Total disregard for public saftey and following road rules. The can even had a passenger.

I have hit or miss experiences with them. For the first two, they were fast and on point for getting me home. For the second two, they prolonged the way to my destination which wasn't right. I usually give a good tip but this last one, adding additional time and slowing down on purpose to reach a particular price was just not right.

Poor experience using their service in the past of drivers leaving the pickup location within seconds of arriving, even as I would be walking out to the cab. Was almost hit by one of their drivers last night around 11:30 while crossing the road (with right of way). Would rate lower if I could, but can't. Stick with Modern.

My daughter was rushing from class to the first day of a new job and lost her bank card somewhere. She was in a panic but the driver(Chris#26) was awesome! He had no pressure solution, got her there on time, kept her calm and had a few words of encouragement. That's a lot of work for a 15 min fare. Greatly appreciated.

I was waiting for her to ask for my name and phone number for the order but instead she told me that "this is where you say you're welcome" in a rude manner. This is absolotely the worst exprience ever! Stuck in the country expecting a taxi; train to catch. DO NOT trust their APP.

Amey’s Taxi in Kingston came out to the KOA and picked me up, went to my girlfriends hotel and then took us to our ultimate destination. Our driver, Uzair, was courteous, friendly, professional, and knowledgeable . 2 hours later, Uzair, picked us up and drove us back. Wonderful service !! Highly recommend!!

I will forever go out of my way to cut off amey's taxi drivers, not let them in lanes or otherwise share the road with them as they've proven time and time again they believe the roads only belong to them. Sick and tired of almost getting in collisions because these drivers are on some sort of power trip.

Oldest, largest and most reliable taxi's in town. People have to realise when weather is bad or its a cheque day we can't just put on the amount of cars that may be needs to service every call. We try so be polite. If you've had problems let us know because we can't fix it if we don't know what's broken.

If you want to work with Ames Taxi you must have a driving experience of at least three years, and you must also pass the traffic lights when the light is red and change your lane without a signal and drive very close to the car in front of you this is their drivers doing I hate seeing them on the road.

Excellent drivers! Always a lot of fun when I am using personally and very accommodating with the senior population when we need them for a work related drive. The accessible vehicles are a GREAT addition. Dispatchers are (almost) all A+ and go above and beyond to assist customers. Also LOVE the app!

On April 24th, 2023, at 5:28 PM, an Amey's Taxi (Taxi #617 License plate # CWNV551) nearly side swiped a car and cut me off on John A McDonald. Boulevard. This was a very dangerous maneuver and could have caused serious injuries due to the aggressive and dangerous driving of the Amey's Taxi driver.

Just called Ameys Taxi to enquire how much it would cost for a tax ride, for a night out evening, from Amherstview to downtown Kingston (Ontario Street), it will cost $50! That’s just going & another $50 to return home! So much for a single woman to go out for a social evening & return home safely!

Cab stunk like body odor. He didnt follow his gps shortest route, Took turns to hit more traffic lights. Finally corrected him and directed him to follow GPS. He then slowed down to minimum speed. Ive been using Ameys for 30+ years . Had a simular issue previously. Won't be using Ameys again.

Useless company. Told us we had Wrong address When I have the address on my phone. Don’t use this company they’ll hang up on you when you order and tell you you’ve ordered to wrong address. Use modern city! They’ll pick you up and admit that they’ve picked up numerous Ameys taxi customers!!!

Overall great way to get around. There are a couple drivers at night that can be unprofessional and attempt to convert customers to their brand of faith, which some may find offensive but other than the one or two exceptions Amey's is one of the best companies I've rode with in the country.

I have used Amey’s a few times and they have been great. Tonight was horrible! The driver yawning all through the drive, I am not sure if he wanted to fly over the speed bumps but he did and a stop sign? Brace yourself!! When he hit the brakes!!!!! It was not a good experience!

I complained about a cleaning fee that they charged my son for having damp shorts after being picked up from The Pier. Later that evening a man showed up at my house to discuss it with the seat from the car. Totally unprofessional Still waiting to hear back from the company.

Wa charged $18.05 and the taxi driver refused to bring me home because he couldn’t figure out what direction he was going. The second driver locked my in the taxi and I feared for my safety. Number 905. Reported it to the dispatch and was told I owed the second driver $10

Called for a cab through the automated service, we waited 45 minutes and no cab. We called again and spoke to a person and were told the cab was on the way. 20 minutes and still nothing, missed our train because of this. We would have been better walking or taking a bus.

I'm surprised by some of the reviews. I've only had really good experiences with this cab company. I happen to forget my taxi chits in the car and they immediately contacted the driver who returned them to me within 5 mins. I've always found their cabs really reliable.

Driver insulted me and my wife and advised me to drive home intoxicated. Will never use this service again. Vulgar language and innapropriate terms do not recommend to anyone. Please call a different company. I would not feel safe as a passenger in one of these cars.

Great service. Excellent Drivers! Always called on them when I got lazy to take a bus to school (which was a handful of times). Always got to class on-time. Average time waiting has been no less than 5 minutes. Quite surprised, which is why I'm writing a review!

I've used ameys many times while I lived in Kingston and continue to use when ever I visit. I've never had any problems with the drivers, and when I've misplaced or lost my items in the car after a night out they have always returned found their way back to me.

I would give zero stars if I could. The woman that drives #130 between 1:00 and 2:00pm is the rudest person I've ever met. She should not even be in a job that deals with other people. Maybe suggest she be in one that she is in a corner cubicle by herself.
