Very average omelette that tasted overcooked and bland. Service was slow as they were more focused on seating people than serving people. Server forgot my coffee AND waffle AND water. They are still more focused on seating more people instead of serving the ones that are sitting here waiting for the items they already ordered and forgot. Still no waffle although they brought the Nutella 30 minutes ago. This is sad. Oh Coffee arrived after I finished my omelette. Just got the bill. They never took off the bottled waters we ordered that never arrived as well. Lol. It’s taking a long time to correct their mistakes on the bill. I’ve had enough of this place. This review started at three stars and it’s now down to one. Note to owner: Hire more workers, 2 servers for the entire restaurant is not enough.

WOWWWWW I will dream about this meal forever & always. We showed up for a late breakfast and had to wait a bit for a table for 4 (like 20 min). It was so worth it! The complete breakfast was more than complete - it had a bread basket, fresh papaya, eggs, ham, cheese, and jam, along with coffee. We splurged and got some cake, too. Highly recommend. Wish I had gotten a chocolate croissant because they looked SO good but I was so full after eating that I couldn’t even look at any food for a few hours. It’s got a cute set-up tucked into a neighborhood and yet still super close to the beaches. Beautiful plants all over the street make it a delicious tropical oasis in the middle of the city. Seriously, 5 stars!!!

Over the course of 2 weeks we went to Apetite Cafe 10 times. It’s great for breakfast or lunch. Everything is good and fresh and the ambiance feels very European! We don’t speak Portuguese and none of their staff spoke English but some Google translate and pointing at the menu did the trick. For a family of 5 this was an affordable option that did not disappoint. The baked goods and coffee are amazing! Best croissant ever.

We went for breakfast. We ordered 4 dishes and 3 of the 4 were wrong, eg we ordered Omlette with cheese and tomato and receive only cheese omlette. We also waited forever for our food and drinkes. The qulity was normal but nothing special, the atmoshere was not nice. When paying the waitress chared the credit card in euros. when i declined and asked her to charge in Reais, she ignored and simply processed in Euros without asking me again. We were really unhappy and complained but no one cared.

This is my favorite breakfast place in all of Rio. We came back here 5 times in the morning. Milena was extremely helpful and patient. We did not speak Portugese at all… I am Dutch and my husband is American. Which makes things complicated in Rio. My personal favorite was the completo breakfast, and with acai w banana. So very delicious!!!

awesome. the ambiance started off perfect, there was a great mix of brazilian locals to tourists. tourists start to finish was super friendly, sans language barrier, everything tasted really fresh. coffee was solid. tiled tables were really pretty. super great environment. good location. good prices. they also separated the bill without even having to ask!!! we went back for a second time. the only thing we will say is the portions could have been a bit bigger.

Best find in Copacabana / Ipanema corner. Great atmosphere like in a french café. Menu overwhelmingly good with so many great selections. Very good breakfast options available all day long. I’ve been to Apetite three times in 7 days. Crunchy bread, very good coffee, tasty omelettes and tapiocas - what else do you need? Service perfect and nice, payments contactless with Apple Pay possible. Fantastic!

Good pastry, but really bad service. Staff doesn’t smile, not friendly. Looks like there were not enough people to serve everyone. We picked the menu ourselves and spent 40 minutes waiting for a coffee with a simple food. Nobody speaks any English even though there are plenty of foreigner tourist sitting inside.

Lovely simple place with outside tables under the trees. Prices are average for Rio. Pastel de nata is very good, also quiche and bread. Cakes are ok. It's quiet to work there during the week, though there's no wifi. It gets busy at the weekend.

Lovely little cafe with a European vibe. Good coffee, nice breakfast combinations, great quiche and cake. They have lots of outdoor seating and a little indoor seating with AC. They were happy to let me sit by myself with a book for as long as I wanted.

So good we went back twice more during our stay in Rio. Excellent bread quality, large portions (the Para Dois could easily feed 3!)and decently priced compared to others in the area.

I go here every time I’m in Rio for the best breakfast. High quality food at good value. Went yesterday, not been for 5 years, and the waitress remembered me! No, I don’t have two heads. Well worth a visit. 10/10

Open for more than 30 years I have been eating there since I was a child. And it only gets better by staying the same. A must go for friendly waitresses and most superb pastries, coffee and sandwiches.

Brilliant breakfasts in European style! Had a great choice of ham, cheese, bread, homemade cakes and croissants just for £16 (two people), including two cups of coffee and two fresh orange juices.

Really good place for a breakfast, great selection of sandwiches, omelets and everything else...it can be crowded in the morning but that just says it's a good place with good service …

Was quite busy when I went there but it's super delicious and the staff is friendly. Plenty of options for breakfast too, and they have take-away bread that you can buy.
