Buying a house is not as easy as I thought. After a strong struggle of nearly 4 months with different Real Estate agencies, different Sales persons I had a chat with Luke on 12th Aug-19. I was surprised how precise a sales person is. Really he is a genuine sales person and he is capable of reading the mind of a customer. With in minutes he got my dream house requirements I had in my mind. With his wide knowledge of the market, Locality, Facilities he described this house and he said "Come, have an inspection and you will like this house". Fixed the appointment, inspected the house on the next day and as he said I liked the house. He is very honest. When I asked the price he explained the market trend, price and the demand. Unlike other agents he is very specific in his words and so the price. I did the desktop appraisal though one of my known sources and find the accuracy of the price. The third day the deal was over and my 4 months long struggle come to an end. I bought my dream property and it was a win win price for both vendor and buyer. The other best part is he himself handling the whole customer relationship process. Even after office hours he is reachable and is available for any help. All my request were carried out promptly and this I suppose goes both ways Vendors and buyers. When I asked to do one small maintenance on the property, since there are few more weeks for the settlement, his response was "If the vendor is not doing it I, myself will do it for you" and I will never ever forget this. I can guarantee this kind of support it is very difficult to get from other agents. It was a great experience with Luke. He is experienced, takes initiatives and ready to go above and beyond. We had the great pleasure of Luke Penny selling our home of 28 years in Blackburn. We are Senior Citizens and was initially very over whelmed by the thought of selling our home to downsize to a retirement village. This was completely unnecessary. Luke made the transaction completely seamless. On the Sunday he walked into our home which after 28 years was rather full. He rolled up his sleeves assisted our family to de clutter. On the Monday he returned and spent 3 hours moving old bricks we had stored into a skip. His assistant had organised a house clean/detail for the Tuesday and Wednesday, photos for the Thursday and on the market on the Friday. It was absolutely no stress to us at all as he had everything organised. The first open for inspection had our home open on the Saturday and Sunday with follow up calls immediately after. Much to our delight he negotiated a remarkable sale price upward of $100;000 than we had initially anticipated. We cannot highly recommend Luke Penny enough, his professionalism and gentle approach with us particularly at our time of life was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble for Luke and rolling up his sleeves to assist in manual labour that we just could not do was outstanding, ensuring our home was presented at an optimum, his constant up to date information regarding all interested parties was comforting. Luke has gone over and above what we expected from a Real Estate Agent. At the end of the day we could not have asked for a better or easier sale, it was a win for us, a win for the purchaser and obviously a win for Luke. How does it get any better than this? After more than 1 year on the market the house was not selling because Applby concentrated on Developers to buy the property for subdivision with 14 month settlement, ignoring the buyers that just wanted to live there. There was so much back and forth, these buyers eventually lost interest. Applby blamed it on me because i did not allow the trees to be cut down 14 month before settlement, but that was far from the truth, 3 month before settlement was my condition for removal of trees. More than 1 year later, I had to pay $5.000,00 dollars for “advertising” and a lot of arguments, i discovered falsifying of documents etc. so I discontinued their service. By chance I spoke to an agent from O’Brian Real Estate. Applby would not take their “for sale” sign down until way later and many requests to do so. Finally when the new sign went up, it was about 10 days, maybe 2 weeks and O’Brian had the house sold to a wonderful family with 2 small children, they plan to live in that home we lived in for 34 years, since we came to Australia. I could not be happier. Thanks to Nick Tang who facilitated the sale, it was great, he really cared and considered every thing l said and the buyers. It was a very happy occasion when Nick Tang brought me the offer, i accepted and it was all done. I have since been able to persuade 2 of my relatives and a family friend to stay away from doing business with Appleby after telling them how this company conducts itself. This is meant to be a warning to any potential clients thinking of selling or buying using Appleby! .

My partner and I are sitting here on a Sunday night enjoying a drink instead of out there still shopping amongst the crowd. This is all thanks to Luke Penny. We first met Luke a few months back and our first impression of him was that he is genuine and he talks! Not like most other agents who just let you wonder around the property by yourself, he introduces the suburb, the surroundings, the neighbourhood and the house. How often these days do you have an agent actually go around the house telling you about what you are buying. He is honest about the price range unlike other agents that play games. Beware!! There are lots of properties still on the market for 6m+ and the price range just keeps going up and down like a yo-yo. For the vendors....remember this, there is a term amongst agents and its called "quote them high and watch them cry". Luke handles the whole customer relationship process himself instead of others than will let you deal with an assistant that is not experienced. All requests were carried out promptly and this I suppose goes both ways -vendors and buyers. We bought a great property and it was a win win for both vendor and purchaser. We had a great experience with Luke - he is experienced, takes initiative and ready to go above and beyond. Thanks Luke from Arthur and Holly

We've been through Appelby leasing commercial property now for 5 years, that is until 2 years ago when we leased a property through Michelle Few. Michelle has to be one of the most horrible human beings we've ever delt with, we then had an issue with concrete at the front of our premises a few months ago where it collapsed and after numerous emails and phone calls we were told by Michelle "it's not as bad as you are making it out to be" one of our staff members was then almost severely injured after multiple emails requesting something to be done before someone is hurt. 3 months later, having to launch a case through the VSBC to try and get back some funds for the damaged machinery going in and out of our warehouse as the issue is right at the roller door, after 15 emails still nothing done, they then had the nerve after we sent an email to her superior to send out a notice of intention to breach our lease. All we wanted from the start was the concrete fixed so we could go about our business, met with nothing but lies, road blocks and plain rude phone calls. We have now cancelled the lease and moved into a property that has a better agent. This review is completely factual & Michelle has quite the reputation around the Bayswater industrial estate for this.

Incredibly rude, condescending people that will immediately speak to you like you're a child, or beneath them, instead of addressing any issues like an adult. Have been dealing with them for four years, still haven't been able to get our oven or leaking laundry taps fixed. It took them several years to service the gas heater (before the most recent service, the last one was completed years before we moved in), which is extremely dangerous. They never respond to e-mails. They're still addressing letters to a housemate that moved out over two years ago, despite us telling them multiple times that we handed in all the necessary transfer paperwork years ago, which they've obviously lost. We're not the kind of people who like to post negative reviews but after four years, we literally dread every interaction we have to have with our agent. EDIT: Just got off the phone to them after being spoken to like I was being pushy and annoying for simply enquiring about essential, required by law, gas heater maintenance. Even when I purposefully try to be as polite and chipper as possible for fear of triggering some sort of chastising. And I had to call them about it because they don't respond to the online tenant maintenance requests. We're at our wits end.

If I had to choose a word to describe Luke, it would be conscientious. If I had a two words to play with, they would be hard and working, used together, in that order. I was impressed at how quickly things were done when we spoke with Luke about the sale of our father's house in Mitcham. There was plenty of communication from Luke to ensure that we were kept abreast of the process and he consulted us on all his plans for the sale of the house. There were numerous 'open house' sessions (even on Sundays) to give prospective buyers ample opportunity to view the property. Sadly for us, the real estate market in December 2018 appears to be cooling down and this was reflected in the lack of bidders at the auction, when the propery was passed in. Not to be deterred, Luke contacted all the prospective buyers he had dealt with and in a few days the deal was done for what we think was a good price in difficult times. As far as I can see his only failings are the fact that he is ridiculously tall and doesn't appear to drink coffee, neither of which seem to have an effect on his abilities as a property consultant, so this sentence is probably pointless. Do yourself a favour and call Luke if you have real estate dealings.

Absolutely unproffesional in my experience, had the property manager using smart comments, petty actions and lack of dedication. Was talked to and remarked to as if we were children and was ignored and talked over in any issue discussions, wouldnt let us rectify any valid issues and brought up petty filled issues alongside that. Do not want to deal with this ever again, obviously its case by case but this was shocking. Immature remarks are no good from one adult to another in any circumstance. Everything was dragged out and never felt as if we had a say, even when talking with the manager we were simply disregarded and belittled. Unbelievable, would go to VCAT but rather pay them their money seeing as thats all they want and be done with their unprofessionalism and comments. More than happy to recieve a follow up call but will not remove this review as it can not be ignored how the property manger dealt with us.

I’d just like to praise and commend Luke Penny on his Professionalism and attentiveness. I found him knowledgeable about the market, great with responding to my questions/requests in what I was looking for and coming back to me immediately. From the moment I walked in the door and sat down with him, he compiled a list of everything I was looking for in a home and asked numerous questions. He constantly kept in contact advising of many properties coming up and I had a viewing of one I was really interested in. At the last moment I found a property in a totally different location so bought through another agent, but I’d call Luke again when buying my next property and would instantly recommend him to any friends or colleagues looking to invest/purchase a property. He is a great communicator and relates really well with people and an asset to the practice. I look forward to future dealings.

Luke Penny contacted me a few years ago regarding a property that I owned in Ringwood East and was occupied by my elderly father who has since moved into assisted living. The property required extensive internal renovations and as I reside in Perth this posed significant logistical problems for me. I discussed the problems with Luke who offered to assist me. Luke obtained competitive quotes for me and oversaw the work was completed to a high standard . He saved me a considerable amount of time, money and worry. He has since sold the property for me and achieved a fair and honest price for it in a challenging market. I have bought and sold many properties and dealt with many agents over the years and Luke Penny stands out as the best. Don't waste your time deal with them, They just team up to cheat tenants, use tricks to fool you, until you find the third party ombudsman to complain, during the covid hard time,They keep sending full payment bills to oppress me, no Industry ethics. It's no use communicate with them, They don't care about tenant at all. Luckily I didn't struggle too long in their trap, I found a ombudsman !!I kept all the paper work and email evidence so all my complaints are resolved through the VSBC( Victorian Small Business Commission) . Remember ,do everything you can to find the third party ombudsman to help you!! because we must learn how to defend consumer rights!! Now my contract with them has been over for few month, still can get some deceptive emails from them.I have completely rejected it. Terrible service, would never never recommend !!!!

my experience with Appleby real estate Bayswater initial was not great, my dealing with the agent I had at first lost all my emails when he left so I had to forward on the 60 odd photos I took again for the condition report as the property was filthy when I moved in. This was on the landlord Not Appleby. I ended up having dramas with the landlord to which point I was no longer safe at the property. Peita and Nicole from the rental department were amazing, they helped me with all the paper work and supported me and my decision to vacate without outstanding fees. (Only due the circumstances) they have also assisted me in finding my next property and been a great reference. It's not common the tenant gets any support but Appleby Bayswater have done a great job for me!

An interesting experience when attending a property viewing today. Due to unfortunate circumstances, i had left my phone at home and could not contact my partner to attend a house inspection. when asking the property manager when the next viewing would be, she rudely told me there would unlikely be one as she had three or four people going through. we not only own two homes but a business and are just looking to upsize. the home we live in would have gone to the agent we rented from. renters are not treated very well i am learning until the agents know you own property. i did not even bother looking, why would i want to deal with this woman. it is a sad reflection on appleby's and you missed out on what could have been a wonderful opportunity. shame on you.

My parents sold their home using Ryan Kennedy and Wayne Sewell. We then re-leased the property through Appleby. Through the course of the lease, my mother was frequently bullied by Wayne Sewell who was unprofessional at best. Upon contacting Wayne to talk about end of lease cleaning, I was referred to as “young lady”, spoken down to, yelled at and sworn at. Upon contacting the head of the company regarding this behaviour, I was offered an apology. However never received an apology from Wayne. They also charged $800 for an excessively large “sold” sign without first asking, this was refunded after contacting the agents. The rest of the team at Appleby were fantastic. However I wouldn’t recommend Wayne to anyone who doesn’t enjoy misogyny and bullying.

I highly recommend using Applebys, I especially recommend Luke Penny. From the get go we had such a smooth experience. Luke updated us every couple of days throughout the sale, he ensured we were looked after and sorted anything out if needed be. After settlement he checked in often to see how we were going. So not only did Luke keep us up to date from first inspection, to offer put in to offer accepted but he made sure after settlement we still had a great experience. The biggest mistake I made was to sign the commercial lease with Appleby on 2019,The only experience to tell it will be a never-ending road of complaints。 Do not trust them!!!unreliable ,Loss of reputation and integrity !! Worst service ever! they never care about tenants . Amy Thorne, especially be careful of this person. She gave me with a lots of mistakes and terrible paperwork , let me have to complain to VSBC to get fairness and justice. When my contract with them ended, they still wanted to hold my deposit bond, until I went to VSBC to complain again, finally got my deposit back! Just like a nightmare , I won’t recommend to anyone. All my feedback is truth .

Above and Beyond is all I can say. I can highly recommend Luke for his Professionalism - Letting us know what was going on at every stage through the sale of both our home and rental property. Just bought a new home for my Mum in Bayswater from Luke Penny. He has being so helpful all the way until settlement. He actually went to the house a number of times to take measurements for me and made sure the property was nice and tidy before settlement. I believe other agents Will just tell me to do it myself at final inspection. Luke understood my urgency and was more than happy to do it for me. We also believe he did a great job in securing the property for us. When we are ready to sell later, Luke will be our number 1 preferred agent in Knox. Thanks a million Luke!

Absolute joke of a real estate company. PLEASE RECONSIDER before going with this company. They are so sloppy with their documents and communication that it will cost you more in the long run. Repeatedly asking for documents and certain costs that were never given until the bill comes, and when questioned they try and back track and send you screenshots for attachments... that have the wrong page correspondance according to your contract. As an owner, beware for your poor tenants, and as a tenant, do not rent a factory that is affiliated with this real estate company.

When I first met Marnie 4 years ago as a nervous interstate investor she eased me through the process of renting out my townhouse in Boronia. Earlier this year Marnie SOLD my townhouse. Horrible real estate agents. I tried calling, emailing and texting regarding a potential property over 2 weeks with no reply. They just dont care to respond to potential buyers. If you go with this company you are guaranteed to miss out on potential buyers so you wont get the best price! They also leave open for inspection listing times up on real estate websites even after the property has been sold so families turn up only to find a sold sign and no inspection. No professionalism, poor work ethic and practices. Avoid!

Appleby realestate are rude and inconsistent. They don't take tenants seriously. During this time of severe infection control they fail to read emails, and also fail to meet basic requests while also not meeting personal understanding. While also living in a house with almost 0 security and no heating after 4 months of requests to have such things fixed, I am made out to also be in the wrong as it's not an emergency? Emails will not be read. I do not recommend

We bought a warehouse through David in 2017, he helped us arranging a rent deal with the vendor pre the settlement so we could store our inventory. During covid time, Renae assisted us with our re-financing requirements. We did not look around when we decided to sell the warehouse.
