EDIT (months after my initial experience) I went in today & can confidently say I won't be back! I was in the store for a good 20 minutes & NOBODY spoke to me besides the employee saying "Have a nice day" as I exited the store. There was a man working, but every time I attempted to speak to him, it's like he was hiding from me! I have very conflicting feelings about this place. While I do think it's a good aquarium shop & has quality products, I did get different info from the employees. I came in to purchase some vampire shrimp & when the employee was showing them to me, he said, "Don't put smaller shrimp in with these guys.. we did & they devoured them in seconds!" As a new aquarium hobbyist, this REALLY confused me. I had done my research & learned that these shrimp are filter feeders (small plant matter, powdered foods, microorganisms floating in the tank, etc). You can see how they eat in the attached video. So how could they eat other shrimp? After doing more research, I came to a conclusion. Either 1) he didn't want to try & fish out smaller shrimp for me that day. 2) he had no clue what he was talking about & was just trying to seem as if he did. 3) they starved the poor shrimp beyond imagination & upon releasing the smaller shrimp, they found themselves in a tough situation. I was just disappointed because I planned on purchasing a whole other tank filled with shrimp from them the very same day. I drove from 2 hours away to shop here, so it's not like I can go back tomorrow to get them. :( The good news is that the shrimp are now in a great ecosystem that I have set up & they are eating a wonderfully diverse diet specifically for them! A few of them have even molted & they are living peacefully with other smaller shrimp.

Update 2. I don't know why you are talking about rabbit snails water parameters and salvini cichlids. Didn't bring up either of those. But since you seem to be curious and I don't want people getting the impression these were the issues.....here you go. 1) a Rusty cichlid is not an American cichlid, it is from Africa. 2) the snails you gave me when I asked for rabbit snails turned out to be nerite snails. At the time I didn't know, but you should. Not even close to the same snail. 3) Again RUSTY CUCHLID IS AN AFRICAN CICHLID WHICH IS A DIFFERENT CONTINENT. 4) I am happy y'all know snails don't belong is soft, acidic water, not what they were bought for. Maybe you have since learned what the different snails are by now. Update, got lots of bad info from Mike (the owner). The employees are great (however they rely on Mike), it is a beautiful store, review below is from the first impression. Just use google to check about fish. Big disappointment. Never going back. Awesome store! Finally, a great all around aquarium store in the area! They quarantine before putting up for sale, have a great selection, retail is fair, they will take fish, and their return policy is good. If that isn’t enough the service is the best I have found in the area. My critical key points are: 1)quality of service, 2) quality of fish, 3) return policy (are they there to help after the sale), and 4) retail pricing and selection. Most shops fail at at least one of these critical points, it is early yet, but these guys seem to be on point all around! I look forward to building a great relationship with them. Now we just need a good local club!

I have been to numerous fish stores as I have 4 running fish tanks. I bought a Royal Pleco and brought it home, acclimated the fish and put the fish directly into the tank. Within 35 mins, the pleco falls backwards off the glass and died. I have never had a fish pass away with hours of purchase. Don’t know if it was a a rare chance or if the pleco was sick prior to purchasing. So I call the store and they ask me to bring the fish back with water for sampling. I arrive to the store and the lady working there questions the stocking in the tank with a tone that was offensive as if I was trying to finesse. I brought back the pleco undamaged and dead after an hour since leaving the store .. . But proceed I answer her anyways, they continue testing the water and results of the tests show parameters are all fine. The other male employee precedes to slight me, claiming the nitrates are too high for the specific size of the pleco? Mind you I have had no deaths in the tank since it’s been running. But he continues to pull every excuse out the book about the water test that is clearly showing to be fine. The only reason I don’t give this store a 1 star is because the owner honored his word and gave me a refund. In addition to that, the energy in this store is very low and does not promote an inviting customer experience. Which sucks because the store is very clean and looks nice. But out of all fish stores in Fort Worth that I have been to, this one had the worst customer engagement. I Will not be supporting this store again.

Beautiful store with a decent amount of Freshwater fish and plants. Fun to look at! The fish I purchased are doing great as well. The only thing I would have loved would be effort on their part to fill a customer's needs so they don't need to go elsewhere. I live a decent amount of miles away. I've made the trip there twice to try get a certain fish and the only reply I get is no, they came in and were all sold out already. Even after saying I have a long drive, the reply is, oh sorry. What if they said, we will call you the next time they come in, or we will get some ordered on our next order and they will be in on this date.. just some effort to make a customer feel like they want you to do your shopping there.. EDIT: and no, im surely aware you can't control if someone buys them before I get to town, but your response to my review is the first time I've heard you can pay ahead and order...it would be nice to tell your long distance guests that hey I'm sorry we are out again, did you know you can pay and order??

Ok y’all. I’ve found the best spot for all your aquatic (fresh / brackish / salt) needs! I have been on the hunt for a good local shop to supply my growing obsession. Hands down, the best place in Fort Worth. Starting off with tank setup and maintenance. Their prices for tanks, substrate and decor are lower than any other competitor. Great selection of wood / rocks / plants to create any environment you’re trying to achieve. If you’re going full salt they even offer a great in-home maintenance plan. They are in the process of getting the salt / brackish flora and fauna set up, but if their freshwater tanks are any indication; they will be outstanding. When it comes to fish, they truly care. Tanks are clean and well maintained. Incoming fish are placed in quarantine for five days before being brought to the sales floor. Betas are in TANKS, not cups!!!! They constantly get new stock and offer a guarantee on purchases. Take some time and come check out this hidden dream!

I’m fairly new to the hobby so I have been to several fish stores in the area to find my go-to “LFS”. This one is by far the best. It’s clean, the tanks are all gorgeous and well-maintained, they have an amazing selection, prices are reasonable, they quarantine new stock, and they have actual tanks for their betta fish. I was in heaven! The store is adequately named, haha. They have some beautiful plants as well, and a huge planted tank to put injured fish to live out their lives that cannot otherwise be sold. It’s obvious the truly care about the well-being of their animals and have a passion for the hobby. And bonus, they have a really unique selection of reptiles and amphibians too! So those were fun to look at. Heather was super awesome and spent a ton of time helping me out, and I got to take home the fish I had my heart set on. I’ll definitely be back!

Aquatic Dreams is an absolute gem for all aquarium enthusiasts and fish lovers alike! The variety of fish species available here is unparalleled. Whether you're a seasoned aquarist seeking rare and exotic species or a beginner looking for easy-to-maintain fish, Aquatic Dreams has something for everyone. The knowledgeable and passionate staff members are always ready to assist, providing expert advice on fish compatibility, tank setups, and proper care techniques. One thing that sets Aquatic Dreams apart is their dedication to the well-being of their aquatic residents. The tanks are immaculately clean, and the fish look healthy and vibrant, which speaks volumes about the store's commitment to maintaining the highest standards of care.

A nice LFS! There is a large selection of freshwater fish, and more tank supplies (like fertilizers) than your average pet store would have. Everything seemed nicely maintained (no dead fish to be seen), and there was a nice betta setup. They also quarantine their new arrivals, so I didn’t see any sickly looking fish either. I’m looking forward to going here more often, and would be really excited to see them with a larger selection of betta fish (individuals and “breeds”) in the future. So far, they have 12 tanks in the betta section. It is great that I can know what a betta actually looks before purchase because he is showing his true colors and not stressed out and faded in a cup!

My wife found this store and we went to check it out. Amazing selection of freshwater fish and plants. They also have quite a few reptiles. They have a lot of equipment and a good selection of tanks and terrariums. We were looking for an aquarium stand, ended up buying a tank as well. They did not have the tank in stock we wanted as we are into saltwater and needed the overflow to go with a sump. They ordered it and went to pick it up for us. Amazing service. I can't wait for them to stock more saltwater options so I can support this local business even more. Thank you guys!!! We will be back!

Awesome store! The staff go out of their way to educate all customers on the fish, reptiles, and products that they sell. The store is beautiful and all tanks and enclosures well maintained. The reptile habitats mimic that of their natural environment and the fish are the best I’ve ever seen. This is not your typical Pet store by far. The employees put their heart and soul into this place. I can’t wait to see how they keep expanding in the future!

After years and years of searching for the best fish store, I’ve finally found it. These people are the best in the business. The customer service is incredible, selection is outstanding, the treatment of their animals is way better than industry standard, and the store has a beautiful ambience. From newbies to pros, this place will take your aquarium(s) to the next level. I suggest everyone to check it out, trust me.

So glad we have a LFS that have good selection on African Cichlids so I don't have to drive to Fish Gallery and Dallas North Aquarium. They have full grown haps and peacocks for very reasonable prices. The store is clean, staff is friendly and attentive, fish look healthy and well taken care of. They have rewards system so you can earn discount towards your next purchase. I will definitely be coming back for more.

  • Claudia Henry

Went back 2x in one week to get fish and plants for my 75 gallon tank! Very helpful and knowledgeable and willing to talk about pros and cons of mixing fish together! Super friendly staff and the fish tanks look great! Lots of juvenile fish (perfect for me) but can't wait to see how the selection continues to grow. Had some fish I had been looking for and not so common! My new local fish store!

  • Mack Mack

While I didn’t buy anything due to little variety in tank and stands I definitely intend to go back! The store is beautiful and abundant in fish and plants as well as aquarium decorations and scaping materials. Blows any pet store fish department wayyyyy out of the water. I am currently establishing a new 40 gallon and will return to stock my tank

  • Karlie Lebouef

One of my favorite fish stores around. They are knowledgeable and all their tanks are clean. Gosh are pretty and healthy. Plants are pretty and healthy. They have several types of shrimp. They have lots of freshwater fish and some salt water. They even have a brackish tank. The staff are all friendly and helpful. We will be back soon!

  • Johnny N

They are the best freshwater fish retailer. The african and south american cichlids are no match anywhere else in DFW (Yes I mean it, the best selection in DFW area.) They have the most rare to see freshwater fishes with reasonable prices. Healthy fishes and wonderful sizes. Recommended for all aquatic hobbyists!!!!

  • emi chui

This place is wonderful!! I’ve been to a few fish stores and they have all been wildly disappointing but not this place !! There are so many options ! Not to mention the atmosphere is so welcoming, fish are super healthy, wonderful reptile and amphibian selection, and friendly employees. Best fish store BY FAR

  • Bently Durant

Great staff. Family owned. You can tell they have a real passion for what they do. I visited with my thirteen year old daughter and they gave us wonderful advice for keeping a corn snake even though they didn't have one on hand. They even demonstrated handling techniques and helped us pick a better bedding.

  • Jennifer Jones

This is the nicest fish store I have come across. There fish are happy and healthy and swim up to you as you walk by. The staff are all very nice and so helpful with all your questions you may have. The planet rack is beautiful and there reptiles are well taken care of.

  • noah loth

Great selection of fish, reptiles and products. You can tell the quality and health of the animals is prioritized. The owners are friendly and extremely knowledgeable. It is such a better option and experience, then petsmart and petco for both you and the animals.

  • Daniel HICKMAN

Store has a fantastic selection of fish, some of which you don't find at other stores. One of the things this store does differently than many other stores is they utilize a quarantine area to ensure fish they sell are healthy.

  • Jeff Scott

The store is very clean and nice. I got 7 fish today and there all doing good. All the cichlids are juveniles so if you have established tanks the fish may be to small but overall a great store.
