DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I moved from Tokyo to the US and chose Asian Tigers as my moving company. As this was my third international move, I’m no stranger to the process. From start to finish, this company was a COMPLETE NIGHTMARE. I had told the guy that came to do my survey that was self-paying and would be paying with credit card. Less than a week before my move, the invoice was sent. When I could not find how to pay with a card, I called them. I was told that I couldn’t pay with a card. I had TOLD them that I would pay with a card when they were there to survey. They didn’t bother to disclose this until just days before my move?! They finally sorted it out after having me pay through their affiliate in Thailand. Little did I know, that was only the beginning. Like many folks leaving Japan, I had been selling belongings in the days prior to the movers coming (washing machine, refrigerator, etc.). I had a bunch of cash on hand from this, which I had tucked away in a hidden drawer in my shoe cupboard. I knew exactly how much was there, as I had just sold these items for a specific price and that I am one of those people that still keeps a checking and cash ledger. While I was upstairs, the one person who spoke English in the moving crew came to fetch me to say they had found a bunch of cash and ask if I had known it was there. Of course I knew! Anyway, I was shocked to find that ¥10,000 was missing when I counted it. I counted it again to make sure I was mistaken. I went through the whole shoe cupboard. Nothing. I had them reopen the boxes that had been packed from there. No luck. I double checked my checking account and cash ledger. That too showed that I should have exactly ¥10,000. I couldn’t believe it! The entire time I lived in Japan, I had NEVER had anything stolen. To have it happen in my own home by people I was already paying to be there. It was unbelievable. The managers quickly issued a refund for the stolen money, but that doesn’t make up for the violation of being robbed in the first place. The only thing I can figure is that the guy who took it must have found it and assumed I’d forgotten about some secret stash and wouldn’t notice ¥10,000 missing. Fast forward to delivery: I asked for them to deliver on Saturday. Being that I am starting a new job, I didn’t want to take a day off already. I was told there would be no problem or extra charge for that. Then, the DAY BEFORE, I was sent an urgent message that I needed to pay an extra fee of nearly $200 for Saturday delivery. I told them absolutely not. I already had, in writing, both confirmation of the delivery date and statements from their representative that there was no charge for it. They finally backed off and agreed not to charge me. Thank god I had it in writing that this wasn’t going to cost extra or these bastards would have held my belongings until I paid! The day of, they sent a SEMI TRUCK with a two man crew to my house. Unsurprisingly, bringing a semi onto tiny, mountainous residential streets did not work out well. As a result, they tore up several of my new neighbors’ yard - deep HUGE gashes in their lawns near the street. They of course couldn’t get the truck close enough to the door due to having sent a semi here. That meant that they had to park far away and it took FOREVER to unload the truck. I had paid for unpacking service. But, since they only sent two guys and moving internationally means MASSIVE amounts of wrapping on everything, it also take forever to unpack. I ended up working for 5 hours along side them to get everything unpacked. Again, I had paid over $10,000 USD for this move, which included unpacking service. Their terrible delivery service meant I had to work for HOURS and the guys still weren’t able to leave until nearly midnight. They kicked me a $200 pittance for the delivery debacle. Then some of my items were damaged. I just found out they only give two weeks to file a claim. No other company I’ve used that short a window. There are MUCH better international movers. Stay away from this one!!

Moving is a HUGE headache and pretty traumatic so I started planning our return to Malta after 10 years in Japan around 3 months before departure. That was fortunate as it takes time to figure out details and check the various offerings. I picked the 4 main names I knew and started getting quotes and then received a recommendation for Asian Tigers from my destination agents. My wife was very sceptical as we had never heard of them however I'm very happy I called them. Guillaume came over to do a house survey and was thorough and his estimate turned out to be pretty close! He was also the most flexible and made sure to understand our key needs - Japanese are not known for their flexibility but Guillaume went out of his way to make sure our needs were met. He checked details regarding the car that I planned to ship and helped me to find out details that made me realize that it would not be cost effective to do so. Their prices were very competitive which didn't hurt. All 5 quotes came pretty close to each other but I just felt the attention to detail and flexibility were greatest with Guillaume. The move was scheduled for 2 days. Day 1 Tariq turned up early and was outstanding. He was organized, efficient and managed to get my wife moving fast which is no small achievement!! She was highly impressed with the service and she is not easy to please...(years of experience on that point! ;) ) The amount covered on Day 1 was impressive and when one item was inadvertently packed due to my fault, Tariq and Guillaume went out of their way to get it back for me very quickly. They left us boxes and materials overnight so we could get organized and Day 2 was done by midday. They were well prepared and efficient and I had a hard time keeping up with them and Im normally extremely fast. I have to say we were extremely impressed with the service and attitude of the staff all round. Nothing is too difficult for them and they made what could have been an extremely tough pack up, a fast and very efficient experience. I will certainly look to Asian Tigers first next time I am planning a move. I would recommend giving them a call.

Mr. Olea at Asian Tigers Mobility - (International moving and relocation) - Japan displayed "cutting - edge" customer service skills in all phone and electronic correspondence. His presentation, carefulness towards details, listening skills and timely follow-up left me feeling important and assured that he has integrity and is very competent at delivering a professional representation of Asian Tigers Mobility for complex transitions of overseas / international shipments. Mr. Olea, at minimum - met my high standard for excellent customer service delivery. His professionalism was displayed throughout the entire time he managed and coordinated my shipment to the states. My experience with moving companies abroad and in the states has gained me the experience of having at least one provider in Japan to compare all the rest. This was my first time working with Asian Tigers Mobility. From this point forward, Asian Tigers Mobility is NOW the “Gold Standard” company I shall compare all other international moving companies to, due to the excellent workmanship of Mr. Olea. His customer service skills never left me feeling "rushed", confused, lacking trust or concerned about potential problems or unfinished business regarding my shipment or his customer support interventions. I must admit, prior to working with Asian Tigers Mobility, I had reservations about trusting a new or different provider to manage my overseas shipment. However, after working with Mr. Olea and the other excellent professionals at Asian Tigers Mobility throughout the entire transaction experience, I will only recommend Asian Tigers Mobility. Thank you, Asian Tigers Mobility! Sincerely, Ms. TW

We moved from Shanghai to Tokyo in August 2017 and had a horrible experience with the movers. However most issues concerned the planning and the follow-up service (insurance), the actual movers on the day of were totally fine. My main gripe is that they broke several designer chairs and tables of ours and lost(!) our dining table legs. We inventoried everything for the insurance and gave an itemized price list to them. We were offered less than 30% (!) of the value of the items even though the insurance policy clearly stated “new for old” meaning we should be reimbursed what it costs to get the items new in our destination. The reasons given were: 1. Our chair only had the back broken so it can still be used 2. The packing list says the dining table legs were packed so they must be there (note the company THEMSELVES unpacked all our boxes) - they weren’t 3. Only one of the three coffee table legs were broken so it can still be used. I am not kidding about these answers! I did get the message about this on April 1 so maybe it’s a really bad April fools joke. But unfortunately I doubt it.

We moved from India to Japan in Nov 2022. It is our first international relocation and understandably we were apprehensive. The team from Asian Tigers has guided us closely throughout the transfer. The India team conducted a virtual survey and explained the entire relocation process. Multiple detailed emails from the team put us at ease that we were in very professional and capable hands. The packing at India as well as the delivery in Japan went very smoothly and was completed in a matter of hours. This was beyond our expectations. The care and respect shown by the crew towards our belongings and house was amazing. There was no damage to the packages and the house was left in a clean state. A special mention for the Japan crew that coordinated closely with our building management for specific building rules. Being new to the country and not yet comfortable with the language, the team’s help is greatly appreciated. Overall, we had a great experience with Asian Tigers and would highly recommend their services.

I’ve moved internationally several times with Asian Tigers over the years. Each time my move was handled with the utmost professionalism in communications and services from beginning to end. I’ve never had a single issue with any of my moves handled by them, which have been complicated in nature and with my high demand and expectation of services always met or exceeded. Most importantly, my entire household and precious personal items have always arrived and delivered safely and with no damages or missing items, each time. Their care and attention to detail are of the best level and their crews packing quality is amazing to witness. They are also just good people to work with, always keep their word. This is why I have chosen them every time. If there was a competitive doubt on price, they have been flexible to review and come back with a rate that we could agree on. I have had some bad experiences with other movers before I had a chance to use Asian Tigers for the first time. I highly recommend Asian Tigers.

Just initiated a move from Tokyo to the East Coast of the U.S. using Asian Tigers, the third move I have done between the two countries using them. Andrew Olea at Asian Tigers in Tokyo worked hard to obtain space on a cargo ship, no easy task amidst the pandemic-induced supply chain breakdown. The packing crew was also efficient. Will update this review again after the U.S. move-in has been completed, and for now can say that the Tokyo end of the move was done very well. Update in May 2022: The shipment was delivered last week to our home on the East Coast of the U.S. and all went well. Good communications from the U.S.-based coordinator and from Olympia Moving, the Boston-based partner of Asian Tigers. Will definitely use Asian TIgers again on our next international move.

We contacted Asian Tigers about our home move from Tokyo to the UK in August, and we had a great experience with them. Although we chose a different transport company for preference reasons, Asian Tigers and their team provided excellent, responsive service and provided an estimate for our move that was competitive with the other companies we spoke to. Additionally, Asian Tigers will donate and remaining sealed, non-perishable food in your kitchen to Second Harvest for you. I found this point completely thoughtful and greatly appreciated it.
