I only stay at Marriott properties when I travel. Been a Gold Elite member for 8 years. I was disappointed by my stay here for a conference. Location is fine- right downtown. I like that the hotel is connected to The Hub which has lots of quick options for lunch. My check-in experience was a little frustrating. I had reserved a king bed room months before my arrival. I had requested check in at 12:30 which I understand isn’t always possible. Room wasn’t ready when I arrived. Had issues with check-in due to my employer having paid for the stay- despite our business officer having emailed the appropriate authorization form ahead of time. Waited 3 hours and then waited in a 30-minute line to check whether my room was ready. It was ready; they hadn’t called me to let me know it was ready like they said they would. They didn’t acknowledge my reservation preference. No mention of it at all during check-in. When I got to the room, it was two double beds. Also, my Gold Elite status was not acknowledged at any time during my stay- check in or check out. Overall, I found the employees at the front desk to be professional but not particularly friendly. I overheard their conversations with other guests and their tone was sometimes off-putting. The room itself was fine but not nearly as nice as I’d expect for a Marquis property. Carpet was dirty in my room and in many of the hallways and common areas. Hotel is showing its age- especially on the guest room levels. Desk lamp in my room was broken. Beds were very low to the ground and not as comfortable as I’d have liked. Bathroom was small and super basic- along the lines of what I’d expect at a Fairfield, not a Marquis property. Furniture, lights, and wall coverings were modern but showing lots of wear and tear. Windows were dirty. “Rundown” is the word that comes to mind. Next time I’ll stay at a different Marriott when I visit downtown Atlanta. There are plenty to choose from.

First, my compliments to the staff. Two recent stays here, and both were very good. Is this a “five-star” hotel? Nah. But when service is really good, five stars seems warranted. Thanks to the staff who seem to care, address guests by name, and genuinely seem like they want to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel is showing its age, but it was clean and well maintained. The room I stayed in was nice, bed was clean and comfortable, and sitting areas were the same. Housekeeping was always friendly and helpful. Thankfully this Marriott has made the switch away from travel size toiletries. I’d love to see a refresh…maybe that’s in the works. But if I had to choose a shiny new hotel with poor service, or an aging hotel with friendly service, I’ll take the later all day.

Sear staff was great. Breakfast buffet was surprisingly delicious (you know how buffets can be…this was top of its game).

We are Titanium Members and only sleep at Marriott Hotels. We booked this room weeks ago with an 11am check in as we had plans for the evening. We were also assured that due to our membership that parking would be validated. We get there at 11:30 and told the room would be ready in 10 minutes. An hour later nobody has an update on our Suite. Then they attempted to downgrade us from the suite we booked to a small two bed room. The staff did not seem to know what was going on and why our room had disappeared. Parking was definitely not free, it cost me $60 a night which is outrageous, and everything in the hotel was overpriced and terrible. The only good part was the view from our suite when we finally got it almost 3 hours late. Do not recommend this Marriott

Great location but very busy and crowded hotel. Not ideal for a romantic weekend but better for work or a family event. Updated rooms but found a puddle of some liquid in the carpet. Also it will take at least 2 hrs to get food delivered to your room. Parking available but don't recommend the valet. They can't handle the sheer volume. Pay for garage parking behind the hotel for $15 overnight. Restaurants and mini mart inside are convenient. Coffee bar too.

This was a great hotel to stay at! I stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed the centrality of the location. The room was really nice with a great view. The service was excellent - all the staff I encountered were very professional and kind. The valet parking can be expensive, but there are other parking areas nearby if you want to save a little bit of money. I ended up using the valet parking and it was good.

Would not recommend. We stayed for new years going into 2024. When we arrived, the bed had dried blood stains on it, solo cups still in the fridge, the entire table was sticky like someone spilled juice and it was never cleaned, the air didn’t work, and the tv did not work. When I called for housekeeping I got hung up on and had to go down to the front myself. The whole place felt dirty and nothing worked. The restaurants were not good either. I think the only positive of this may have been the location. Most definitely will never stay here again or recommend to anyone

This hotel was one of my better GA hotel experiences. My family booked 4 rooms, 3 with elite status. This gave us access to the concierge lounge - light refreshments were cute but would benefit from making a $50 open bar access or something like that. The elevators need a bit of an upgrade. The rooms were spacious yet dated. The staff was a mixed bag- some great, some not. I’d go back. Breakfast for elite members being free is cool… I wouldn’t pay for it ‍♀️

Nice hotel. Great architecture but it’s easy to get lost. Rooms are spacious however I don’t like the desk situation and the chairs are very modern. Not many places to plug up your electronics. No microwave but has a fridge…my room had a crack in the ceiling near the window. I like that the next hotel over is connected to The Hub which is a food court.

This is a nice hotel in a good location in Atlanta. Front desk staff Brent and Rich were both SO helpful. Bar was incredibly expensive. $70 for 4 shots of whiskey. Bar tender also was not very friendly. Wish we had skipped having drinks here. Valet was “full” but then because we were only staying one night they magically found a space for us. Kind of inconvenient that parking is not guaranteed for guests with a reservation. Overall though, would recommend / stay again.

I went to the Marriott Marquis for my vacation and it was awesome. The room was clean and renovated, and the housekeeping team was very attentive. It is also located right in downtown, so you can get to the attractions such as aquarium and the world of coca cola easily. Overall we enjoyed the stay.
