I took the Crescent to Washington, DC & back to Atlanta. Mid Oct. Left Atlanta on time. Staff at station were great helped from time I walked in building till walked down to train platform. Car attendant Acted like I have better things to do. Asked for a second pillow. Never got one. Trip from NC to WDC was rough coming & going. I was lucky I had my glasses off. Car swung hard left & right. Received a swollen eyebrow. Several times the car movement where very hard was not able to drink from cup. On way back upper bed support brace DID stop me from falling out of bed when car moved right to left very hard, marks on back to prove it. Wife has sore ribs from same repeated action car did to her on lower level. Now returning to Atlanta Staff at WDC station lounge were good, Place was clean. Snack plus fresh drinks Roomette tickets said the room we were to have already had a passenger in it. So, we were moved to another room. How did she get on train? She did not have a ticket for roomette cars. Danial was are attendant. He was on the ball, explained everything We placed dinner & breakfast orders with him. Got what we asked for Room had two pillows for both bunk beds. Intercom worked. Room temperature control worked. Better than going. We were to take the trip two weeks after the world was sent home, again a week after WDC closed because of rise in cases last spring. Wonder if tracks would have been better then. Did take Crescent from Atlanta to NOL and back. In 2018 great trip train & city wise After this trip with the tracks so hard on my body. Wondering about dream trip from NOL to seattle switching trains at LAX. With cross county to NY followed by return to Atlanta? Would I survive trip to from NOL to LA. After short over night, I am planning another dream trip. Not by train.

I took the train for the first time from ATL to Greenville. All other reviews said the train would be delayed, well guess what....it was delayed! About an hour. Everyone boarded fairly quickly, then I went to business class (well worth the extra few dollars). There was hardly anyone there! The crowd in the waiting area was mostly screaming children, I never saw them once boarded. I met a friend and we went to another car to chat and hang out and ended to talking with the conductor. The seats are wide, the leg room goes on for miles and miles. About 10 minutes before my stop, the conductor approached me and a few others and helped us gather and carry our things and walked us to another car to exit. He told me exactly the part of the parking lot my dad should pick me up, and helped us off the train. I was really skeptical about Amtrak at first, but I had a great time. The staff guy at the Atlanta station was friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. The crew on the train was excellent. They were helpful, respectful and went out of their way to be courteous. They also went out of their way to help several passengers. The Atlanta station is close to me, but the Greenville stop was a little far for my parents, so I probably won’t be riding often. I’d give it 5 stars, but the delay was annoying and not convenient for my parents to pick me up so late at night. But, overall fun experience.

Small Station with a small parking lot. It only serves 2 trains a day Amtrak Crescent to Louisiana & Amtrak Crescent to NYC. So it’s only open in the morning & than again at night for 11:29pm train. My train was late it didn’t get in until 12:48 am instead of 11 pm. I knew that ahead of time so I didn’t get to the station until 11:15pm when the app 1st said it was coming in at 12:07 am. The station was packed, literally no seats available, there 2 sections one for first class/ sleeper by the elevator with cushion seats, & one for the coach when you 1st walk that was long wooden benches. It didn’t matter everyone was sitting everywhere. Only has a vending machine & small bathroom. To go down to the platform is a long narrow set of stairs which had a locked gate & 1 elevator. So people were already lined up by the elevator. There is a small courtyard area outside the door that leads to the steps before the gate. So I waited there & nobody was there. I guess they didn’t know you could open the door & go out there. So I was the 1st person to go down when the gates were unlocked. It’s off to the side it’s hard see especially at night. When the train came in you still had to wait 1/2 hr for everybody to get off the train, come up the stairs or elevator. I’m glad I got there late b/c I don’t know I would have waited over 2 hrs there. There’s also no stores in the area.

This was the first time and probably last time my son and I travel on Amtrak. We took this railway from Georgia to NY, NY. The ride was smooth, customer service was excellent, especially our concierge Kevin in our roomette section on our return trip from NY, NY to Georgia. Nonetheless I was grossly disappointed with the conditions of the train. Amtrak is a long historical company and sadly to say it shows in its upkeep. The drapery is dingy and stained. The seats broken, my chair would not recline, the passenger in front of me, her chair leg rest could not be raised. The air was stuffy. I traveled both coach ( going) and roomette (returning) there was no difference in seat and amenity quality. The food was decent but not the best, even for microwave standards. I do not know whose brilliant idea it was to build a toilet next to the bed area, it was a nightmare . I do not recommend using Amtrak for mode of transportation for long distance travels. It is not worth the money at all. When a person travel long distance, there is a pleasure that is gain from, scenery, convenience and comfort that a great experience offers. Amtrak was none of that for my family and I.

Boarding the train was disorganized. Amtrak does not allow one to reserve a seat like one does with a flight reservation. Amtrak does not allow one to sit across the aisle from parties one is traveling with. Amtrak conductors lock off cars without explanation and sit in them by themselves. Amtrak conductors told me to find a seat. When I found a seat, another passenger came up a little afterwards and showed me a stub the conductor who had instructed me to find a seat had given her giving the seat I found to her. Passengers walked through the car at 1 AM talking in loud voices saying they did not care whether they woke others up. Conductors woke me up at midnight to tell me they were seating another passenger next to me even though there were unoccupied pairs of seats that would not require waking anyone up to give someone a seat. In summary, although I wanted to use the train because of its energy efficiency, the service was so disorganized and apparently random that I found it irritating.

After reading the reviews, looking for other options. I am trying to plan a train trip for my daughters as they have never been on a train ride and after reading the reviews of Peachtree Station for Amtrak and the lack of parking and no room for drop off, I won't be going to Peachtree Station to access Amtrak. It appears drop off is across the street from the station and for a family of four...absolutely not! Although they say there's long term parking, there isn't. Atlanta is a metropolitan city. I cannot understand why the city or Amtrak will not invest in a better train station with better access. At least build a decent parking lot. There is a Amtrak station in Gainesville Georgia. It's a little far but would be worth the trip if I can drop off without crossing a busy street or better yet leave my SUV there at the station. Use some of that money for Marta and interstates and build a better, efficient train station and ample parking.

Half a zero star due to the fact that transportation options to and from the station are very limited if you do not have a car or someone to drop you off. No Metra station is nearby-only a bus stop across the street, and traveling with luggage on a crowded bus is not an option most people are willing to endure. Riding a taxi/Uber/Lyft to destinations beyond the station can be costly. Lastly, no private shuttle bus operates at the station. The only viable option is to catch a taxi to the nearest Metra train station. Each time that I consider the aforementioned options, I decide to catch a flight which puts me in a financial bind on the receiving end because LaGuardia airport in NY is located in a similarly inconvenient location like Atlanta’s Amtrak station, whereas if I rode the train to NY’s Penn Station, a $2.75 subway ride home is the best option.

Well, I had one piece of additional luggage which I went to pay the $20 fee with card. And the rep slid my card on her computer. I asked her if she needed my zipcode? She said no. And told me that kept trying and it wasn't working. Then they told me to go down the street to the ATM. When I called my debit card company he said the transaction declined because she put in the wrong zipcode. But I said I asked her, she said didn't need my zipcode. With him on the phone she told me she could only run it as credit? But where is pin pad??? Also I boarded train 19, the trip is from 9:00am-9:00pm. But I have not even been offered 1 bag of chips? When I asked the conducter he said I have to food from the cart, 2 carts back. Asking do I mean some free food? I said no like on airplane ride they come by and give a bag of chips

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE OKAY LET'S LAUGH AT ME at the age of 57 I no longer desire road trips to visit family due to health reasons sooo watching the AMTRAK commercial I said to my daughter Askia hey Ree can you book me a Amtrak ticket to the DMV mother's day weekend?? Sure Mom and don't worry about the cost it will be my mother's day gift to you YIPEEE ✌...So I thought it would be the fancy smancy train on the commercial NOPE when I saw that NASTY crunchy train I flashed back to the holocaust trains in the movies I was so DISAPPOINTED... window seat view of old discarded tires run down trailer parks shabby scenery I closed the GRUNGY curtain and hoped for the best for my poor sy-keeso it's DELTA from here on out!!!

  • Shane Randall

Amtrak parking was terrible tiny parking lot. Amtrak was 2 hours late arriving. Amtrak stopped for freight train to pass 3 miles away from Amtrak station after being 2 hours late which is understandable...then the train sits for 15 minutes AFTER freight train had passed. I would say Amtrak is as unreliable and late arriving as Greyhound is! We will never send for our dad again on Amtrak! Where is service these days? Do people really have to fly to get service & predictability?? The bus system and train system in this country is an embarrassment! We need some innovative fresh competition, instead of this stale lazy monopoly we have now with lack of service & reliability to say the least! Shame on you Amtrak!

  • Stella Chen

Yay Amtrak! This station is very small but historic and cool. Small parking lot so I recommend taking the MARTA. Station keeps doors closed between 6:30am-8:30pm I believe so if you are there then, be ready to wait outside. Trains are often late at no fault of Amtrak (Amtrak has to yield to freight trains). Be prepared to wait with food & water... station has vending machines but they're "use at own risk" at the moment. Nice bathrooms & there are outlets along the wall for public use. Riding coach was great:) lots of leg room and comfy seats. Pack your own food and lots of water. No microwave on board but they will give you hot water. There's hope yet for US passenger rail! Ride Amtrak♥️

Amtrak needs to do better. My train left 2 hours late going and two hours late coming back. I missed my tour at my destination, which was no refundable. Going, I received a call an hour before stating it was delayed, but no time was given so I had to hold for an agent and speak with someone. You can’t rely on the app because it is not updated when your train is delayed. Coming back, the guy taped a sheet of paper to the counter to update us. I never received a phone call or text. The signs in the station never reflect the delayed time as well. Ridiculous with the technology we have today. I will say the staff at the stations and on the train were super nice!

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had traveling!!! I've been all over the world in different modes of transportation. This was my 1st train ride. We have had a sleeper car booked for over 3 months. 10 MINUTES before our train leaves. A representative calls to tell us there's been an accident in our room and they cannot longer give us the room. They offered to DOWNGRAFE us to coach to ride 19 hours in a seat!!!! And to top everything off, they didn't give us our checked luggage!!! It left without us. And the customer service was rude and nasty to us. She couldn't understand why we were upset Unbelievable!!!

Aweful experience! NO HOSPITALITY! Front desk is RUDE and LAZY!!! Avoid the hotel restaurant, the food is terrible!! The only redeeming factor is the gentleman that works in the restaurant was extremely helpful, and the valet workers were great! But the front desk is aweful!!! No sugar in the rooms, no coffee cup so downstairs, and they don’t allow Uber drivers to come to your room!! Never again, these people need to go to New Orleans and learn how to work in the hospitality industry, DONT let the Hilton name fool you, you’ll do better at OYO!!!!! And that’s really sad!!!!

  • Dave

Pretty mediocre. Place was packed; crowd control could have been a smoother experience when getting directions on boarding the train. Entrance is super small, so it's better to get dropped off via Lyft. Once train arrives, you'll go downstairs to your respective destination. Inside the train is pretty roomy and clean compared to a Greyhound bus. The eatery on bus had very limited hours so pack a snack. Overall, I'd use Amtrak again over Greyhound buses any day... Just sucks that they have such limited hours of travel.

I always Have mixed reviews about Amtrak. Its either hit or miss. My trip to NY was delayed 4hrs. My train coming back delayed 2hrs. All because they share a track with freight trains. Such an inconvenience to the passengers and the lack of customer service and sensitivity training is mindboggling. Amtrak really needs to do better, they need to actually start those plans for their own track because the time restraints and poor customer service is NOT what us travelers pay for.

  • Dawn Riggs

Train are usually late . I am talking about hours. Because only one track that is cargo. And Amtrak shares the track Too small and no parking places. Taxi drivers stay by the door. Always asking if you need a ride. Which don't take them. I did one time was 65.00 next time I got uber was 35.00. Staff not organized. When people get off train. Business class and people who have rooms. Suppose to go first. And stand in line. Staff not watching and don't care.

Modern. Clean. Reminiscent of yesteryear with all of the modern luxury: wifi, bar, electric ports. A BIG Winner: at least 1 .5 foot space IN Coach between upright seats!! No hassle of airports 75% cheaper than both driving & an airline!! Couple it with amazing view of natural scenery. Definitely a winner in experience, education, modluxe, and value to any Major city in the US. We should support more government funding for shared ground transportation!

  • Deo_1776

Historic station but a bit too small for Amtrak. Super clean, fairly large restrooms, and the air conditioning was very welcome. Baggage check is available and sleeper car passengers have a dedicated seating area with a great view of the tracks, and have power outlets at each seat. Crew was very friendly and helpful. Downside was the long walk to the trains (an elevator is available if needed though), and lack of food.

  • Sergei Troubetzkoy

There is indeed a very large parking lot at the Atlanta Amtrak station, but it is not in front of the building (that lot is tiny and intended for taxis and drop off only). Madison Warren-Coombs obviously missed the directional signs for the parking lot, which is easy to do because the station is located at a very busy intersection. The Amtrak parking lot is across the street just behind the station. Beautiful building.

  • T A

Just a tip: Amtrak raises its prices (in my case by $20) when you view an itinerary on their website and later come back to buy it. I solved this issue by having a friend put in the same itinerary on another computer (and voila, it was $20 cheaper). It also worked to put my browser in incognito mode. I know that airlines do this, too. Don't get tricked!

  • Sharon Maahs

We were dropping our family off and the drop off space was to small . It was raining and a busy station we could not get turned around and get out to make room for someone else. You need to have a drive around! There is no room to back up and turn! unless you are driving a smart car. That is how little space there is.

  • Chris Tuttle

Although this station leaves a lot to be desired for a major city's primary train hub, it works! The staff are some of the nicest I've ever met. If you're taking a long trip, drop in early, check your luggage for free to your destination, and walk 1 block away to grab some Chipotle -- the only food option nearby.

  • Jay M

I ask the attende or the lady behind the counter about the train that is running late, she had a not so of a nice way explaining the situation about the train.. She could have been a little more respectful, but when that damn cigarette is calling your name.. That's more important then customer service.

  • RM

There isn't much room for anything other than the essentials, Say your goodbyes at home as there is no room for parking or for family and friends to host a farewell send off or welcome home reception. Arrive early and bring your own internet hot spot. The staff are very courteous and helpful.

  • Sticky Lips

It's small as far as accommodation! It's cumbersome to get into and the parking is very limited! And you only want to get there maybe no more then a hour before you are set to depart! The staff is friendly and very helpful! Also if your are traveling 1st class, the snacks are pretty awesome!

  • Billy G

Very rude Conductor Howard Sanders - I reported him to Corporate. Consistently late trains. Slow outdated Crescent train. . Terrible luggage collection process. I also caught one of the train staff smoking in the baggage car. He proceeded to cover the window to the baggage car with a towel.

  • Holly Smith

It’s outdated and pulls down the moral of the people that work there. I recently caught the Crescent to Birmingham and it is evident that the lack of an intercom system, better flow of passengers getting off and on the trains, and the ability for passengers to self check in bags.

  • Mike Riddick

Small. Very congestive, especially in this busy area of Atlanta. Horrible parking/drop-off. Horrible access to and from the trains. Not enough workers to assist everyone even though there is only two trains daily (1 Northbound, 1 Southbound). Station needs to be relocated!!

  • Al Foster

The staff was nice friendly and knowledgeable which I appreciated greatly. The only thing I would want people to be aware of is the station is NOT open 24 hours the do have limited service hours so just be aware of that beside that sit back relax and enjoy the ride …

  • ADAM MARC LEONARD

Okay. Its okay. Personal are good. The passenger drop-off and pick-up is in a lot across the street, so if you have lots of luggage it can be a challenge to get all of it from your car into the station, especially if you are by yourself.

  • Lisa Schnellinger

Smaller than you'd expect for a city the size of Atlanta, but tidy and the staff was lovely. The passenger drop off was across the street. You need to be heading south on Deering to pull in front of the wheelchair accessible main door.

  • Kenneth Smith

This is the little train station that could. Everyone here is so friendly. Do not expect Union Station, more resembles a small post office. It’s clean and just right for the amount of riders leaving Atlanta by train.

  • Suxant

One of the cleanest and well maintained stations in Atlanta. 2 or 3 levels below the ground level. Quite huge. Located right next to some of the happening spots at Downtown Atlanta, right beside Hard Rock cafe.

  • Chase Davidson

Open 7:30a - 2:00p and 7:00p till 2:00a Otherwise no seats or bathroom outside. Busy intersection, well lit. Inside has one vending machine with a malfunctioning use at your own risk note and a Pepsi machine.

  • Debra G.

The 4 star rating does not reflect a deficit on the part of the staff. They are wonderful. Very helpful. I deducted a star because the station and parking lot are way too small. Amtrak needs to expand both.

  • Jackie Staton

This morning I'm at the Amtrak Station on Peachtree. My dad is coming in for the holidays. It's clean, everyone has masks, and the customer service rep is helpful and friendly.

  • Pamela Marsden

Train from Slidell LA to Atlanta GA, the worst 15hr ride ever. No communication with passengers about any problems. First time riding, and will not do this again.

I am a retired Employee of Amtrak, and this station is full of historical history. It's small and beautiful!
