Had the worst shopping experience of my life here. Was accused of shoplifting called names, bullied by multiple staff members accusing me of theft left and right even when I went back into the store because they said it didn’t go through . The employee I was arguing with also started making fun of my voice and my mannerisms which was a micro aggression of homophobia and cursed at me, called me names and laughed at me.Just the level of disrespect and accusation of theft and laughing at me for accusing them of racial profiling was just horrible. This overall felt extremely micro aggressive and does not make the store look like a safe place for LGBT or POC customers like myself .

Update: This is still a great place and almost everyone who works there are really awesome. Unfortunately, I had an extremely bad experience selling some comics there. I brought in 5 long boxes with some valuable comics. They offered $250 in store credit and I had to argue for even that amount. I had a couple more boxes to go through after and took them to Half Price Books. They gave me twice as much and for less valuable comics. If you are selling comics, take them to Half Price Books, otherwise you will get ripped off. This place has a great selection and nice staff. It is one of the best comic book stories I've ever been to.

GREAT shop. Highly highly recommend checking this place out. They have the best selection of comics I’ve seen, plus the customer service here is top tier. Ty is such a cool dude and super helpful. It felt like we should have paid extra for the personal shopper/VIP experience he gave us. My friends and I are visiting from Philly, so Ty also gave us some awesome food recommendations. We ended up going to a burger place he recommended and it was BANGIN. I already know that the comics he recommended to us are going to slap too. Ty, we love you and would trust you with our lives.

Will not return here. We went into guzu gallery with our purse not problem. Btw it's right next door. We went into the comic store walked in and around for a bit no problems. Then an employee came and said he needed our bag extremely rudely. He didn't explain why or anything. Didn't give us time to get our wallet out. He was all ready grabbing it by then. Felt like I was being treated like a criminal. I wouldn't have been as upset if they told us earlier. Like I said we walked around there for a bit before they took the purse. He could have been way less rude.

This place has so much for a collector to enjoy. They have collections for kids 5+ all the way to adult. They also had employees selections which were very inclusive to every type of reader. Their independent selection was broad and their historic runs had some deep cuts. They had only a few of the graded sections, but nothing extremely hot for collecting. It's a great place to hut if you're looking for variety and even if you don't know what you're looking for staff can help.

We went in to see what they had. It was a very cool place, and they had everything you could want for comics and collectibles. The only thing is no one greeted us. No one acknowledged we were there. There were 3 employees in the front just talking to each other and it wasn't about the store. They didn't say HI Welcome in. So as much as we wanted to buy something. We left. I'm just all about customer service. I went to another place in South Austin. I had a better experience.

I always wanted to go in, the parking just looked scary and small. But after going inside it’s now my favorite place to go for comics and figures. The staff is helpful and reasonable, and when buying a figure my character didn’t have a solo comic so they lowered the price; and when the poster turned out to be the wrong character they easily let me switch it out with the one I originally wanted! <3 honestly love this place, it’s bigger on the inside and cool.

I love this store! The only complaint I have is when I'm looking for a particular book and have to pre-order it, and i have to wait two weeks for it. I get it not enough room for everything but if it's a popular book please do some research and re-order it. Everything I come in for a graphic novel, let say Radient Black, I order it in store but find out that I can get it faster through Amazon.

You talk about rare items, at great prices. Plus it really is worth subscribing to them I mean these guys rock, they rock my balls off! For those of us that are stuck here with the same "mimic book" stores in San Antonio it really is worth going up the road and just seeing what they have now I have yet to go in there and negotiate because I'm big on Golden age stuff but the day will come.

Love this shop. My husband is the comic book aficionado, but i really love going to this shop and browsing all the interesting merch they have. The models, pins, posters, t-shirts and stuff are all fantastic. The staff is friendly and they allow you to explore without standing over you. When you visit, make sure to use the restroom and check out the hand drawn cartoons on the walls. Fun!

Wow! Ty provided some of the best customer service I've ever had. I was looking for a gift for a friend when he approached to ask if I needed help. Once I said yes, he sprung into action and showed me 5 or 6 awesome selections with detailed synopses. It was really nice having someone excited to help me. He definitely loves his job and is great at it, give him a raise!

There is a huge selection of action figures, comics, shirts, mugs, pins, small mystery boxes, and many other items. I found a cool BB-8 mug here and bought it. The staff was friendly and the store was easy to navigate. Also, my girlfriend was able to take her dog in, but we did not stay too long. You can easy waste an hour or more here just checking the store out.

  • John Tardibone

Had some questions about a couple of comics value, Brandon was super kind, super informative, and knowledgeable beyond his years. We came to an agreement that benefited us both! I suggest even if your not wanting to buy something when you go in, the nostalgia will pull the mm money out your pocket they had everything I had when I was a kid 50 years ago

  • DallasFelonyRing

This shop has everything. Easily the best comic shop in Austin. All the big new titles every week, limit one on the hottest books so everybody has a chance to get one, which is a great policy. Insane collection of back issues and statues. More statues in one place than I've ever seen. The only thing this place is missing is a decent air conditioner.

  • GlitchTheShinobi

  • Quintyn Poe

Helpful, knowledgeable and kind staff, wonderful selection from comics to manga. Staff is always willing to help. A wonderful place for new and old readers to purchase, made a customer from out of state feel welcomed and offered to have material shipped to my home if I so wished. Ten Bruce Wayne out of ten Wayland-Yutanis, would recommend visiting

  • Greg Maskell

Friendly staff and a fairly large store. Wide selection of toys, pops, comics, etc. Prices were good, they offer military discounts as well. Still require masks and make sure you bring your own bag. Conveniently located next to two additional stores with collectibles. Found some older NECA figures at one and some nice HIYA figures at the other.

  • Doug Dixon

Is the best comic store in Austin. The amount of material and knowledge the store has is unparalleled. the only thing that would make the store more awesome, Was if they had a robust pre owned collectibles section. As a avid collector it can be hard finding out of prints, And I hate going on Amazon and eBay when I can find it locally.

  • Liz Lewandowski

I really loved this place. There was so much to look at from collectables to modern print comics. I found a few comics that I had been on the lookout for so huge bonus points! The staff was really kind as well. The only way this place could be better is if there was a small lounge spot so I could start reading my comic haul …

  • Michelle “Mimi” Gwinnett

My boyfriend and I stopped in on our way moving out of Texas and my inner kid was so excited by all the neat stuff they had in this shop. This is definitely the largest comic store I've been too. The prices were all reasonable. The staff was super friendly. And I sat and dug thru bins of buttons which was alot of fun.

  • Chris Wiesehan

The selection is huge but missing the things I want the most. Prices are very high. Not enough old comics aimed at younger people. The true problem is how much gets misinterpreted and the way trying to ask for help online keeps failing. Many tines no responses to questions and emails don't come in.

  • Win Bent

Not just the best in Austin, this comic shop beats stores I've been to in many cities. Any place can have all the new comics and figures, but Austin Books & Comics has a huge variety of new and old, many back issues, easy browsing... and an atmosphere which is welcoming to all. Truly, Five Stars.

  • Kash Koncepts

Trevor invited my son and I to stop by and check out the store. We finally got around to going and instead of my son buying comics, I spent almost $100 on a collection that caught my eye. I'm happy with my purchase and Trevor was great! We'll definitely be going again..for my son …

  • Phillip Hall

If you need comics this is the place. There is so much to choose from it's mind boggling. I doubt there are very many items you couldn't find here. The store was very busy and staff was present all around the store. There is also a large selection of statues as well. Very impressive.

  • Texas scifi

Always a beautiful place to find comics toys posters and comic book boxes bags boards. Love the epic selection of trades. Love the expansive niew comics inventory. Love the Toys and Statues in display. Where else an you buy a 12 inch massive mandalorioan card back action figure?

  • Quintin D.

Have only been there twice and loved it both times. They have a wonderful selection and helpful staff. I had a fun conversation about horror comics with an employee. I wouldn't recommend parking in front because of how close to the curb it is, but that's a small nitpick. 10/10

  • Andy Chupka

The Comic tour rolls into my favorite shop in Austin Tx!! They have tons of back issues!! Plus they've done a nice upgrade to this section as well. This store has a sweet collection of toys and statues if that's your preference!! A MUST STOP for all us nerds! Enjoy …

  • Dakota Clark

Wow, this is easily the most dedicated shop in Austin. The attention to detail and organization is immaculate. There is so much in this store to love, from unique statues to rare comics. Fair prices, great condition, and a massive stock will keep me coming back.

  • Kassidy Pritchard

Solid selection and really fun for novelty because of the size of the store. If you want to get ideas for what to read next it's perfect...just check the prices elsewhere before you buy. Sometimes things are more expensive here vs other local stores.

  • Rodney Conley

Only my 3rd time visiting this establishment since 2013 (I don't get uo to Austin as often as I'd like to). But from then to now this is a GREAT spot to visit and shop or just look around at great comics, compilations, figures, statues, and

Evey time we go to Austin we stop by and we always take a BUNCH of things! Their service is great, the people that works there know their stuff and the place is huge, I've spent hours in here without even noticing. Definitely my favorite!

Exceptionally great experience. I walked in and was greeted by some very nice staffers. I told them it was my first visit there and they immediately offered to guide me on a tour of the store! I only had them answer some questions and

  • Neena Raine

Fantastic selection of old and new! It's probably a good idea that they don't have chairs to sit in...no one would want to leave! My son and I love the life-size Hulk and other figurines. Very cool that they have an lgbtq+ section.

  • Samuel Martinez

I've been coming here for years and it does my heart good to see my oldest son now bring his son (my grandson) to the same shop. It's just a magical and wonderful place. Like going back in time and yet, so current with the times.

  • kevin mc

In all of the years that I have lived in Austin and driven by Austin Books & Comics I have never taken the time to visit. I was impressed with the variety and quality if merchandise. The staff was friendly and helpful.

  • Phillip McBee

An Austin mainstay. Incredible selection of titles, including indie favorites from my heyday in the 90s-00s. They have a massive collection of both back issues for sale, as well as trade paperback collections.

  • Sandra Kennedy

The owner was a very rude and thought he was above everyone...to his customers even to people who were selling comic books. I will never give him my business. Stick with going to the mom and pop comic shops.!

  • Adrianna Narvaiz

Hey y'all, normally love this store but not super happy with the most recent experience. Didn't catch the worker's name. Tall scraggly white man with long blonde hair, works at the store.

  • Robert C

The staff was super friendly. Me and my kids went in search of a few things and we were helped every step of the way. So much cool stuff to look at! I highly recommend this book store!!

  • Angel Carrillo

Not a comic book person but this placed amazed me! So many collectibles and everything. I saw things I thought would never be on store shelves again!.

  • Henry Puckett

This place had the most of any comic store I have been to yet. For a mid size shop it is loaded and well cataloged with great organization of books.

  • Morris Pike

This is a great LCS. Large selection, well organized, decent prices on wall books. Only downside is that they do not negotiate on wall book prices.

  • Indie Adlai

It's huge inside! The associates that helped me were super awesome and you can tell they love comics. ^^ Excited to read these gems. <3
