Thank you so so much Austin municipal court!! I had the best experience resolving a speeding ticket. I can’t speak for the reviews below, but every part of resolving this case was done respectfully and quickly. I had gotten a speeding ticket on my way to volunteering and was worried about the cost of the ticket due to being unemployed. To top it off, I missed my court date by two days and was freaking out that extra fines or a warrant would be put out. Showed up in person by the 3rd day and was treated with nothing but respect, kindness, and assistance by the security checkpoint, front desk, security guards, the prosecutor of court one (06/23/22), Judge Thomas, and all his fellow workers! Started with the front desk worker asked if I wanted to reschedule my hearing or if I wanted to resolve it as a walk in case. I chose to walk in. Judge Thomas explained how I would meet with the prosecutor, all my rights, and so many helpful tips about remembering that the prosecutor is not my lawyer but I can ask questions or share info as I see fit. Judge Thomas was extremely kind and fair, and took into account my years of community service hours and my current unemployment, converting the expensive court fee to very manageable service hours! The prosecutor of court 1 was also so kind and respectful. (I wish I could remember his name but he had a reddish beard and nice suit.) He never made me feel pressured and provided very helpful, honest answers to questions I asked about what kind of evidence could be presented, how the jury would work, costs, volunteering, rescheduling, etc. Both the prosecutor and judge explained I could postpone a trial if I wanted (to get an attorney or think things over) and do so even a second time as life happens-so long as I contact the courts. This or I could do a plea deal or no contest. It was nice that they explained all my options clearly with no pressure to pick one over the other. Overall, i think if you come in respectfully, they will treat you kindly and respectfully as well. They welcome questions and do their best to give you all the info and time to feel prepared in any decisions made. They are fair and take into account your circumstances as much as appropriate.

This review is based off of services and not staff. It’s 2022 and AMC called to let me know they issued a warrant for a 2010 traffic ticket. I paid this ticket with all other tickets when I left the state in 2012. A total of $2800 was paid to the courts at that time including rent money in cash I had at the time that was confiscated by a police office when I was forced to appear in court. Now over 10 years later they found, well you owe us a little more. Lol and that I would need to appear if I was to fight the decision. So my options were a 400 flight to fight a 150 ticket or just eat the cost. I obviously ate the cost and paid. My recommendation is to keep accurate records instead of writing things on post it notes then extorting someone 10 years later. So glad I moved out of that city and state. This amazing attention to detail explains why your state can’t function in things as simple as a freeze. Good luck clowns!

I am in Illinois and received a parking ticket on a truck that we sold. After sending in an affidavit to prove that I did not own the truck I am still receiving notices of payment. Apparently they lost my documents and want me to send them again...for the third time. I have doubts that they even got the right truck information and truly believe the truck in question was never even in TX. The buyer lives in KY and also sent an affidavit that he was never in TX. I have spent hours on the phone trying to resolve this; would have been better off to pay the stupid fine except I do not want pay a fine that I DO NOT owe. Now that they sent me to collections I cannot imagine this will ever get resolved with the customer service - or lack of - at the collection agency. I am outraged and completely powerless against a government agency who is WRONG and could care less.

Let me help you find the entrance Please follow the signs all the way around to the entrance of the building, googles gps is still dropping people off at the old entrance behind the building. However, the area is now gated off and being used as an employee parking lot. So go around the black gate to the other side (you'll see signs directing you to the proper entrance) and park up front. Parking is free. Upon entering, MASKS ARE REQUIRED PER JUDGES ORDERS. Weapons or anything that can be used as a weapon are prohibited, this includes fingernail clippers, pepper spray, and safety pins.I hope this helped you out

Lady named Toni or tonia I spoke to and her attitude was not helpful. I called because my letter was lost on the post office side but I have a receipt but she told me, "it's not the courts fault for the mail not getting here" and even though I had proof. If I hadn't called again and talked to another gentleman(sorry I forgot your name) I would have been very upset and stressed. I do thank him for walking me through what I could do. 5 stars for him

I know you are asking yourself why would someone rate the courthouse a 5 out of 5. Well it would probably help that we weren't there because of me. I was helping a younger friend of mine and I've never seen people so willingly and eagerly wanting to help somebody who had made an honest mistake. Everyone from the security guards at the door to the judge himself truly nice people who wanted to help this young man make better.

The staff was friendly, and I did not have to wait long to speak to a clerk about a traffic ticket. I would give 5 stars, but honestly, 7th st. is nasty. You cannot cross the street without being harassed by vagrants. One guy was hanging around my car and tried to approach me, luckily he ran off when I yelled at him.

A patch of dirt owned by TXDOT with no, no parking signs is not parking in the "city right of way" which is an intersection or an actual street. Stop ticketing people as it wastes your time and our time as we come back and fight these tickets that are dismissed immediately

I got the same notice Lucy! I do not even live in Texas. Let alone leave my house besides going back and forth from home and work. I recently got my car too so it's pretty new. Austin Municipal Court. I hope you are reading these. You are basically scamming us for money!

The wait is surprisingly short here for a government office. There's no parking at the building but there is a free parking lot slightly to the east underneath I-35. Parking there is free during the day. It sometimes takes a while to find a spot, however.

When driving to 6800 Burleson Road and looking for the City Of Austin Municipal court follow up the signs , free parking lot most of the time u don't have to wait to be served Be ready for the check out point at the main entrance by security

There's 1 female judge here that's not for the people... she didn't give no consideration of what I had to say and, took only 2 looks at me. 1 coming in and 1 going out, an said I was guilty for something I was clearly not.

Aside from disliking this place because of why one would likely need to go here, the employees I encountered were friendly and informative.
