We recently embarked on an unforgettable journey with Autopia Tours, exploring the breathtaking landscapes of Kakadu and Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge). From start to finish, our experience was nothing short of extraordinary, and I can't help but give them a resounding five-star rating! When our plane was cancelled and we got in the next day, we thought our holiday was going to be a disaster. But the Autopia team, especially Cody via email and Andrea behind the wheel, got us all the way to meet the tour, and only a few hours late. Andrea’s enthusiasm and expertise made the journey a delight. She skillfully navigated the roads, ensuring a smooth and comfortable ride. She was friendly and approachable and instantly put us at ease, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the get-go. However, it was our remarkable tour guide, Jay, who truly stole the show. From the moment we met Jay, it was evident that we were in for an exceptional experience. Jay's passion for the region was contagious, and her wealth of knowledge about the history, culture, and wildlife of Kakadu and Nitmiluk was awe-inspiring. Jay's dedication to her craft was evident; she went above and beyond to showcase the best sites and provide us with a wealth of information. She carefully curated our itinerary, ensuring we witnessed the most breathtaking vistas and encountered fascinating wildlife along the way. Her insightful commentary enhanced our understanding and appreciation of local indigenous culture, history and the natural wonders we encountered, making every moment even more memorable. One of the standout aspects of our tour was Jay's impeccable attention to detail. Not only did she immerse us in the beauty of the surroundings, but she also made sure we were well taken care of. Jay ensured we were well-fed and always hydrated, ensuring that our physical well-being was as well looked after as our thirst for knowledge. Overall, our Autopia tour of Kakadu and Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge - cicada country) was a truly remarkable adventure. An exceptional experience that exceeded our expectations. I wholeheartedly recommend Autopia Tours to anyone seeking an immersive and informative exploration of this breathtaking region. Prepare to be amazed, inspired, and thoroughly captivated by their exceptional service! Thank you, Autopia Tours, for an unforgettable journey that will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

I went to Phillips Island day tour recently. Our guide, bus driver and DJ is Ilkay who is absolutely amazing, friendly, informative and super enthusiastic. On that day the weather is not what we would expect it to be for a day out but Ilkay went above and beyond to make sure everyone enjoy their time even it’s cloudy, windy and rainy. Though the ride was quite long, it was not boring at all. Our guide told us many stories as we drove past each points and cities. Our group got a chance to see Koalas with their Joey which was very lovely. Then we stopped by Cowes to grab something to eat and get to enjoy view of the beach in local town area. We get to stroll along a broad walk at Nobbies for a little and since the wind was super strong, I didn’t walk much far. (hope I could visit again when it’s sunny!). Our guide drove us through Summerlands slowly so that we could have a chance to spot some wildlife along the way :) Finally, we arrived at Penguin Parade, our main spot of this trip. Ilkay gave us tips and directions to get the best spot at the general viewing area which is very helpful because this was my first time being there. I’m glad I did this tour with Autopia, everything went on time as in itinerary and the bus was comfy. I would highly recommend everyone to at least once in your lifetime join this tour. Because getting to see those cute little penguins is so worth it! And you’ll also be the part of helping and supporting the centre to possibly keep up with their good work too. Last but not least, I’m very thankful to our guide, Ilkay, who makes my trip to Phillip Island memorable and comfortable. (As I didn’t check weather forecast before hand, I went unprepared and almost couldn’t stand the weather. If not for our well-prepared guide, I might not be able to stand the rain and wouldn’t get to experience the fantastic penguin parade! So big thanks to him :)

We were on the 4 day Kakadu tour. We had an unfortunate start, as our plane was delayed 24 hours, which meant we missed the entire first day. Fortunately Autopia Tours helped us arrange new transport all the way from Darwin to Kakadu so we could catch up with the group the next day, which was such amazing service of them, as we could’ve risked loosing the entire tour. One of their guides named Tim who was “off-duty” got to be our driver and drove us in the middle of the night. It was a comfy ride and Tim was a super laid back and nice fella, who told us all about the areas we were passing by. When we arrived in the early morning we joined our amazing group and got to meet our guide for the tour - Richard. We had the most unforgettable and most beautiful 3 days of our lives and it was all thanks to Richard, who is probably the best guide we’ve ever had on any vacation. Richard is such a funny and humble guy, and he really goes out of his way to make sure everyone is having a good and fun time. He had lots of great stories to tell about all of the places we went to and even took us to a few “secret spots”, which wasn’t on the itinerary - including some hot springs, which was one of the highlights of the entire tour in our opinion. We couldn’t have asked for a better tour, and we owe a big thanks to; Our group, Autopia tours, Tim and Richard for providing such awesome service and an adventure of a lifetime.

AMAZING!!!! I just got back from the 3Day/2Night Kakadu & Litchfield 4WD Camping tour. I normally don’t like to travel with a group, but our tour guide Jay was just simply the best. I didn’t feel like apart of a tour but more like just hanging out with mates and exploring this beautiful part of Oz. The group was a fabulous bunch of people and we all got really well and shared our experiences with travels and adventures. Jay our guide was what made this experience so special, her passion and knowledge were next to none, and like I said it wasn’t like your stock standard tour where you feel like they are just reciting from a script, this was authentic, you were travelling with a mate who was enthusiastic, passionate and wanting to share her knowledge, experiences and stories. Jay is an absolute asset and her smile, energy and personality is infectious. This part of Oz should not be missed and you are doing yourself a favour with booking this trip, the memories will last a lifetime. No cookie cutter experience here…

I took the 3-day tour to the Great Ocean Road and the Grampians with them, and I truly loved it. The variety of landscape and wildlife you'll see in just 3 days is incredible—and we did it with no rush. The timings for each stop are carefully set so you can enjoy every step of the way. We saw koalas, kangaroos, emus, echidnas, and many birds, all in the wild and from a pretty close distance—much more than I expected. What truly made the difference in this tour was our tour guide, Janet. With her passion and deep knowledge of Australia and its beautiful wildlife, she made us all enthusiastic. She went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. If you are with her, you can rest assured you'll have a great time. I also forgot my stuff at one of the motels and she promptly helped me and arranged a way to bring my stuff back to me. Last but not least, I booked single rooms for the 2 nights, and they were all spacious and perfectly clean.

  • Eleanor Denson

Great tour. Andrea was an excellent guide telling us lots of facts about the history and the wildlife of the area with an enthusiasm that is infectious. It made the drive very enjoyable particularly as a solo traveller. I very much enjoyed bird spotting at fogg dam and swimming at the two water holes they were absolutely beautiful (worth it despite the crowds) . Lunch not supplied but the lunch stop sells great sandwiches. Definitely recommend this tour. It's a bit rushed in that you don't get to stay in any one place for long but that's inevitable on a tour and I felt like we got to see all the highlights, so maybe one day I can go back and enjoy my favourite spots. I also might not have felt safe to swim without going on a tour and having the knowledge and information of the guide telling me it's safe. Wildlife spotting is also much more fun with a guide to tell you facts about them.

went on the grampions tour a while back with autopia and had a blast spotting wrens, kookaburras and other wildlife with our tour guide! can’t remember his name for the life of me (it was a while ago on 24 Oct 2023) but he had a great wealth of experience and we had a lovely time with him. came to darwin and chose autopia again for our litchfield and kakadu tours. em and becs were really fun and shared a lot about the national parks! hats off to them and thank you both for looking after us throughout the tours. could really see that becs really enjoyed her job as a guide - she shared a lot about her own experience and interactions with the first peoples in kakadu, as well as her wealth of knowledge about the local avians! thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and really like the small group style of the tours. thanks autopia! :)

I had such a great time on the three day tour! The Great Ocean Road, especially the 12 Apostles, is just as grand and beautiful as the pictures would have you believe — it was the highlight of the trip for me. Our lovely and insightful local guides Janet and Chris took us to a few extra spots that other tour busses don’t, and the hidden gems don’t disappoint either. We got to do and see a lot, but I never felt rushed or pressed for time. It was a perfect balance, with banter and fun facts all along the way. Not to mention all the Australian wildlife we got to see in their natural habitat too. I’m really glad that I chose this tour. I got to have an immersive and authentic experience, while spending time with some Australian folks and other lovely visitors alike.

I’ve just returned from a 3day/2night Kakadu/Litchfield National Park tour with Autopia Tours and it was fantastic! It was out your guide Andrea which really made it special and so valuable. She shared her very impressive knowledge of the land, our Indigenous peoples and other interesting facts across out your which made it so enriching and informative. Andrea always put our safety first and made the tour really fun with music, regular stops for snacks and toilet breaks and just very well organised. I do recommend her as a tour guide as you won’t be disappointed. The truck was comfortable and had great air-conditioning and camp sites were clean and well stocked and maintained. We so loved this tour and highly recommend it!!

I just got back from an absolutely stunning four day camping trip to Uluru, Kata Tjuta, Kings canyon and the West MacDonnell ranges. It was everything I could have hoped for and more- a real adventure of a lifetime trip. Our guide Mattio was extremely experienced, knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing the places we visited. I learnt so much about the geology, flora & fauna, history, and importantly the local traditional owners of the places we visited. I'll be raving about this trip for many years to come! PS. If you're visiting Uluru, do try and choose the West MacDonnell ranges add on option- it really was a fantastic way to finish up the trip.

Just got back from the 3 day short break to the Great Ocean Road & Grampians and I think everyone who wants to explore this area of Australia should book on to this tour. We had the amazing Janet (J-Dog) as our tour guide and she absolutely made the trip perfect. From her jokes to the lovely personal stories that connected to all the areas we visited, it was educational and fun all in one! My personal highlights were seeing all of the koalas (especially the babies), getting to walk through the sea on a hot sunny morning, and making new friends for life. J-Dog is an absolute credit to her team. Thank you Janet!

  • Andrea Shepherd

I was on the 3 day Kakadu and Litchfield tour with Andrea. Andrea was a very warm, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the local areas, the flora and fauna and the Indigenous communities of whose lands we were on. She was great at explaining the itineraries for each day and was happy to answer questions at any time. The tour itself was fantastic! Autopia has a great campsite at Kakadu which has everything you need. The truck you travel in was comfortable and spacious with great aircon. I would definitely recommend Autopia and this tour to others, especially if Andrea is your tour guide!

  • Bill Peacock

Went on the Grampians Trip with my good pal Maddy on Monday, and gosh. What a fun day. J-Dog kept us cracking up all morning and evening, but remained focused yet informative when it came to some excellent driving in trying conditions, and providing culturally significant information regarding all the wonderful stops we took. Special and big shout out to Tayla in reservations who managed to help me out very well and quickly in finding my pickup location. A + service and a lovely phone voice. My guardian angel from over the phone! Kind regards, Bill :)

  • Vik Su

Had one Great Ocean Road tour on one day followed by another booking to have the Grampians tour. Best decision as a tourist! Hours of long drive along with guided sessions. Really appreciate Janet AKA J-Dog for my Grampians session. We went on a good amount of walks, Wildlife watching and scenic views! Janet was very engaging, fun and shares little bits here and there in very digestible portions. Really enjoyed myself on her tour trip! Do check them out, really worth booking the tour for a good time in Melbourne :)

  • Yee Ing Wee

J Dog has been a great tour guide who has brought so much zest to the trip with her sharing, enthusiasm & love! It was lovely meeting travellers from all over the world too! I had fun enjoying the great view & listening to the stories associated to the places, & hunting down the wild life with camera! The accommodation was great, & we managed to catch sunset during the trip. Would have tried to catch sunrise & star too but weather was not permitting it. Overall I highly recommend this trip!

  • Rachel Ellena

Aidan was incredible! Lots of good stories and facts about what we were seeing, and he even let us take over the radio to turn our bus into a party! He was the perfect balance of giving us interesting information, while letting us have fun with our group! He was an amazing and safe driver!!! I usually get a little car sick, especially on roads like the Great Ocean Road, but Aidan was such a smooth driver that I felt great the entire time! Thanks for an awesome day!!

  • Kathleen Buytaert

Great trip, knowledgeable and enthusiastic driver (forgot his name... we did the tour on Nov 10th). It would have been better to stretch the tour on 2 days but unfortunately we didn't have the time so this was a good alternative. Doing the reverse tour is in my opinion the best option as it wasn't too crowdy at Loch Ard Gorge and the Twelve Apostles. I also loved the walk at Melba gully. We even spotted some koalas down the road. Great value!

  • Audrey Lindsay

We did the Kakadu National Park Wildlife and Ubirr Rock Art Tour from Darwin City today and had a brilliant day! Andrea, our driver and tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the whole experience easy and interesting! We enjoyed Foss Dam, the Ubirr Rock Art and seeing the crocs at Cahill Crossing. There were plenty of toilet breaks and chances to stretch you legs. There were also a couple of stops for refreshments. All in all a great day!

  • Kerry Slavin

A fantastic 3 days from Adelaide to Melbourne. My first thought was that's a small bus for 3 days, however with only 8 in the group there was plenty of room to move around and be comfortable. Itinerary was varied and flexible. We adapted to the weather and stopped when something special was spotted. Janet our driver and guide was not only professional and witty but also the Queen of the BBQ. She even helped me walk on water.

  • Carla Wiedenhoff

I had a wonderful tour with J-Dogs from Melbourne to Adelaide along the Great Ocean Road and the Grampians. Janet showed us beautiful places and told us a interesting stories about the locations and the people. The short hike to Venus Bathes was a bit difficult for me, but J-dogs helpt me through and I am very thankful for that and her energetic and positive personality! I highly recommend her tour!

  • Mike S

Had a fabulous day with Janet aka J-Dogs! We did The Great Ocean Road tour to the 12 Apostles viaLorne, Apollo Bay and Otway National park. Janet was so passionate about her job and a mind of interesting facts. The trip is a long day 13hrs but the time flew past and we even got to see some Koalas and Echidna’s as well as some jaw dropping scenery. Highly recommend this trip through Autopia Tours

  • william ratcliff

I went on a magical tour to see the penguins on Phillips Island. Our guide/driver was Craig along with his mascot Barry. Definitely splurge for the platform (I booked via Viator)! I saw over 200 penguins walk by as they came from the sea to their burrows on shore. There's no photography allowed to protect the eyes of the penguins. Besides the penguins, we also saw Wallabies and Koalas!

  • Stevy Kins

If you do the trip from Melbourne tot Adelaide/The Great Ocean Road, take the 3-day trip! Here’s a small recap of what to expect: surfbeaches, cliff beaches, rainforest, shipwreck sites, nice hikes and much more but I don’t want to spoil all the fun! Jannet was a great tour guide who made the journey even better! If you want to see and do stuff, I can recommend this trip.

  • CC

Had such a good time joining J-Dog's (Janet) tour of the Lake Mountain and Chocolaterie! I enjoyed the little tidbits of wildlife facts she discussed throughout our journey and how she helps wildlife animals that have been injured. There wasnt much snow that day but the view on the summit of Lake Mountain was breathtaking. Would definitely recommend this tour!!!

  • Karina Miller

Kakadu day tour + Croc cruise - Robbie was the BEST tour guide! Honestly such a down to earth and passionate guy. He made the day so enjoyable while also teaching us a ton about aboriginal art and indigenous history. I would take any tour knowing he was leading the way. 10/10 day. Highly recommend the jumping croc cruise addition. Thanks Robbie and Autopia :’)

  • Luzie

The last days have been amazing! J-Dog was the best tour guide! She showed us her favorite and secret places and told us a lot about the places we visited. Especially the mix between the great ocean road and the Grampians national park was perfect! A highlight was definitely the Venus pools with natural slides and the sunrise on our last morning!
