Baba Yara Sports Stadium is the main public sports center in Kumasi. It is the biggest stadium in Ghana and located at Amakom, a suburb in Kumasi. This might have been the reason behind the football club, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, having the largest supporters in Ghana. However, majority of foothball fans in Ghana are residing in Kumasi and hence most soccer events are hosted in Kumasi. Baba Yara sport stadium was renovated in 2008 and has not seen any other major renotion since then. The stadium has a big car parking space and queuing arenas all around it. It has wheelchair accessible parking and entrance. The floodlights are working alright and the roads leading to it are in good condition. Almost all the sporting actitvities are hosted here. Arguably the only standard stadium in Ghana today. There is always a charged atmosphere there and the whole of Kumasi whenever there is a football match to play. There are also restaurants and small eateries dotted around the stadium. For transport issues, you are always sure to get a ride to any destination straight from the stadium.

Football... Sports is the ultimate entertainment and being at this stadium will be too of your most joyous moments. I first entered here when I was less than 7 and the various experiences whenever I'm here genuinely sublime.

My Driver Mike gets his Gari from behind the stadium. I personally been in there and it is nice place. Now when you go outside the stadium there is a gari spot behind it and the Gari is delicious.

My first time there was last Friday to watch the game between the eagles of Nigeria and the Ghana Black stars. I love the place and must confess that management had tried alot.

There's a park behind the Baba Yara stadium that has been left for programs which is called: Heroes Park. People do programs like music concert, parties and funeral over there.

It's a real fun place to be during certain occasions. I advice a maintenance culture to be intensively practiced as a lot of its facilities have proven very bad to use

It's one of the best stadiums in Ghana, but it just needs some shade because of the sun. But it's an awesome experience there.
