Everywhere our Bahamian people go, you can tell the ones that work for government. I mean this has been a complete nightmare getting my passport. From misinformation to now not having wifi to service our countrymen. so what do they do? Turn every Bahamian citizens around and not EVEN alerting in advance that they're experiencing technical difficulties. The lobbymen we're of MUCH help in this situation. They ensured that we got up to the office to speak with personal in person as they felt compassion on us. This however wasn't my main issue. They told me to mail my old passport and they will send them both back to me if i include a return envelope ; to only get a call days later that they're unable to send my new passport and they're going to keep hold of my expired one. And the only way I can get them both is if I come in person to the office. So I complied. Well here I am in the lobby being told by the lobbymen that they're told to not let anyone up because they don't have wifi. You couldn't reach them because all calls were being forwarded to voicemail. 4+ hours drive and a whole day gone from my vacation to feel like my time didn't matter. And their attitude is EXTREMELY nasty and dismissive. I waited around with my daughter and walked the beach and went back and begged the lobby man to tell them I'll wait until 2PM because I couldn't afford to drive back down there and get the same results. Luckily he did and I got a call shortly after and with excitement I retrieve my passport. I can't wait until I don't have to deal with them in any aspect. Make me consider getting my US CITIZENSHIP. BAHAMIAN CITIZENS YOU HAVE AN OPTION TO GO TO THE ONE IN GEORGIA!
Clearly we as Bahamians still lack professionalism and customer service compared to other countries. Today, I visited the Bahamas consulate to obtain a Bahamian passport. My appointment was booked six months in advance. Before attending my appointment, I confirmed days ahead all documentation needed. Per the secretary, I needed a parent’s birth certificate and passport along with my information. I was informed that if I didn’t have my parent’s physical passport, my information will not be processed and as a result, no further appointments would be available until March 2023. There are 2 issues I would like to address: 1. Please follow up with the consulate regarding the information needed. Some of the information that I was told to bring was not necessary (inaccurate). 2. During my appointment, I asked the secretary, Ms. Wilburn (the name she gave me)/ Ms Smith (the name another employee gave me) to speak with Ms. Newbold, as I had personal matters to discuss. Ms Wilburn/Smith response was, “She’s here, why do you want to speak to her?”. After telling her the reason, she replied, “And? What is it that you need?”. I silently walked away. My only question is, where did the Government of the Bahamas find these people? Are they qualified and educated or did they obtain their position through political affiliation? I am extremely disappointed and I hope the government implements some form of training. Please find people who represent who we are. What I saw today was entitlement and rudeness.
Marcia at the passport window is the WORST, she's not only rude but she also lies. This lady processed a renewal for myself and my daughters passport, called back 3 weeks later and told me they were ready to be picked up. I then drive 2 hours to get to Miami to be told my passport is ready but my daughter's passport isn't because my mothers affidavit is not certified. Lie number 1, how is that they used the very same affidavit to process my passport but when its needed for my daughters passport you say it's not certified? Then to make matters worse, I call the passport office in Nassau this morning to inquire further on this matter and they told me Marcia never even attached my mothers affidavit to my daughters application. Instead of her admitting she didn't do things correctly she decided to lie. There was never even a call made to me to say information was incorrect or missing, however Marcia claimed she called twice, yet I received no missed calls and definitely no messages from this office. Very unprofessional and terrible encounter, I pray I never have to encounter her again.
I wish I could give no star let me just say 3 years waiting on a passport is rediculous when they’re not loosing the documents they want u to keep sending documents they lost...the lady that answers the phone is so not helping people an when she realize u keep calling she stop answering the phone she gave us the run around for almost 4 years I had to call into Nassau to get help she kept telling us nothing yet from Nassau like how can u hear anything back from Nassau when u you submitted just an application with no documents attach to it?!?!? this is why I can’t deal with my own people no matter where they are they just don’t no how to run a professional establishment an they get upset with you when keep calling when all they have to do is the job they’re place there to do an people won’t have to keep calling I call to speak to the head boss in charge an got told she was not there You will never get pass the lady that answers the phone(same lady that’s been giving the run around) JUST SAD!!!
CALL A DIFFERENT CONSULATE !!!!!! This is extremely saddening. I called about five minutes ago and a lady said that I had dialed the “ emergency consulate line “ to call back Monday because she could not answer any of my questions that she didn’t want to and to call back the same number on Monday and someone else would help me . as a permanent resident of the United States. This is extremely sad when immigrants that make other immigrants look bad. This place needs better staffing ,better employees ,better managers ,and a better Hiring team because the way that the lady talk to me over the phone was extremely unprofessional and they need to work on that After hanging up the phone, I then called a different consulate and they gave me the information that I needed. They also told me that there was no such thing as an emergency consulate line. This lady just did not want to do her job do better.
Very disappointed with the Bahamian consulate. At Youfit we held a hurricane relief drive for the Bahamians after hurricane Dorian. We collected non perishable foods, bottled water, diapers, flashlights, batteries, toiletries, etc. As he reached the end of our drive we reached out to the Bahamian consulate to schedule a pickup. On our initial call we were assured someone from the consulate would call us and schedule a pickup. After weeks of being hung up on, left on hold for more than ten minutes, leaving numerous messages to receive no call back, no one from the consulate ever reached back To us. We are going to just donate the supplies to people in the area now. I would not expect this from the Bahamian consulate. It seems like they don’t care for the Bahamians that are there without these basic necessities. To say the least, they are extremely unprofessional.
I called the office twice to be sure I had everything I needed to renew my passport before I drove here. I got here and still was missing a document. The ladies behind the counter worked with me after I told them how long it took to get there, and that the receptionist did not provide me with accurate information. Not just me, but several people in the waiting room were turned away because they were missing documents. It goes back to the receptionist. She's simply not doing a good job. She rarely answers the phone and she's unprofessional. I suggest getting a new receptionist and training him/her to have the answers to important questions, take notes and make your staff aware of our questions and concerns. That way, when we call to follow-up on important matters, you all aren't scrambling around trying to figure out what's going on.
If I didn’t need to call the Bahamas consulate general office for help with documentation I may need, I would never call!! the customer service the lack of urgency, compassion and empathy for ones situation is appalling to even phantom that you are a Bahamian citizen, seeking your own consulate for help getting passport renewal I have been calling for 2 weeks now only to get them at 2 on to be told is cut off time call back Monday again to book and appointment and to hang up is rude and completely unacceptable unprofessional behavior to carry every where you go. Am so disappointed!!!!!! I have help people call into their consulates office in the travel industry and never experienced that type of behavior THE Bahamas consulate displayed. But what can we do
I received my passport and it's beautiful. I went into the office and handle all the paperwork. I didn't have everything I needed and since i lived out of town the ladies worked with me. I was allowed to fax/email over my missing documents. They went above and beyond and I appreciate them. Only critique i would give was that i was contacted later to take another passport photo which i didn't know. They said my ears wasn't showing. I wish i knew that before i left i would have taken new ones. It delayed my process a bit but otherwise Great Job!
Well it is hard to make contact. The phone lines rings rarely anyone picks up. You practically have to go into the lobby to make contact with customer service. Not too mention you have to make an appointment just to ask questions replacing a stolen passport. My husband and I have been running back and forth between MDPD and the Bahamian Consulate. Both department sends you back and forth between them.
Confirmed- Cubans visiting US with a valid passport, multiple entries US visa and valid stamp in the passport can go to bahamas in a cruise without a bahamas’s VISA. ( we saved $200+) Important: We did not stay there, it was just for a day tour and we returned the same day to the ship. “It’s true and I approve this message” , see picture below. My lovely mother enjoying the cruise !!,
The lady that was trying to help me DID NOT KNOW WHAT SHE WAS DOING.. they gave me the run around and made me feel like they were trying not to help me..something that was so simple she made difficult.. I dred going to this place because I get the same feeling all the time I won’t say her name but just know she’s the brown skin woman with the short cut..DIFFICULT
These people do not answer phone calls!!!!! I’ve been trying to get my passport done for 7months now!! When they finally answered, I told them the situation. I can never get an appointment online! They said try the 25th of every month. I did that and their was still no appointment slot available!!!! This is ridiculous! I need my passport done!
Had the best experience at our embassy the new office is very nice and team was incredible, in Bahamian style we got there late but Ms. Green got our renwals done and geeked out with us about movies. Even got to chat about Babookey and Barabi and of course connect we're we may know the same people. Huge thanks to the entire team there
This is the worst customer service experience I have ever had. The counselor people in this office are horrible no manners no customer service training Bad attitude does not know how to talk to people I will go as far as to say no home training They are like savages in this office.
Getting worse and worse by the day. If these people don't like there jobs and don't have a tolerance for dealing with people, there's a lot of better candidates out there that can represent our country better in this office. One star because they actually answered phone this time.
When working in a place Where you deal with Multiple People on Daily you have to ALWAYS have a Positive Attitude no matter what your going Threw This has to be the Worst Service I have ever Incounter In my Life This Office needs to reevaluate there Employees‼️‼️‼️‼️
I was calling to see if I could get some additional information before I came but they wouldn't even answer the phone. I called several times over a span of 4 days and I could never get someone to answer. Why even have a phone number?
This was my first time at the new location. I didn't spend a long time in there at all literally in&out! I would like to send a very special shout out to Mrs.Wilburn thank you for your great customer service.♥️♥️ …
When I went for my appointment both time. I didn't get the gentleman name that was working on March 30,2022. But he was very helpful and made my day better than the one I was having at that time. I really appreciate all is help.
I'm also having a passport issue with this location. I have tried to speaking with someone other than the representatives at this location and was unsuccessful. I would like to know who can I reach out for assistance
Well.considering all new staff they are doing a good job. It takes time especially after a 3 yr pandemic. I was just happy they were open to be honest. Long Live King Charles lll
No good customer service at all. Waiting for hours on one person and the other ppl in the office are no help or mayb jus not willing to help. Service sucks
Je rejoins, malheureusement, tous les commentaires. Les gens qui travaillent pour le gouvernement ne sont pas à l'écoute, pas à laide !!! Never again !
Follow up: I tried calling again and got through, the lady I spoke to was extremely helpful and i will await her call on my situation.
They treated me with pleasure, I thought it would of been difficult but it wasn’t at all Thank you for the speedy responses
Thank you they were very professional and I got my passport within 7 business. I'm very happy with my service …
Hands-down one of the best Consulate experiences ever. Staff are friendly and helpful. Great service, thank you!
Never answer the phone & always closed. Appointments are sets to far ahead and they take long to do everything.
Just spoke with a lovely lady named Delfie who assisted me and will send me some forms that I need. Thank you!
Marshall was very helpful, during this stressful moment I was having you were so calm with me and I thank you.
I want to Apply for a new passport friendly staff easy to work with great place to get A Bahamian passport
Not at all helpful and not professional SAD representative and does not reflect true Bahaman.
A total lack of regard for a person's time. A lack of communication and misinformation.
Mr. Williams was especially pleasant. He should be in The Ministry of Tourism, Miami.
The ladies were very nice and helpful. My passport was done earlier than expected.
They need to clean this entire office out. Very unprofessional, nasty and rude!
