This feels like the world's biggest Barnes & Noble (which it probably isn't; the flagship in NYC is certainly larger) — but this is HUGE and probably has something for everybody. We went on the New Year's weekend where every single hardcover book was 50% off, and this place was PACKED. Like I'm talking 60-70 people in line PACKED. However, very good vibes and even with such a crowd, still a quiet(-ish) place: most people in line were quietly reading their soon-to-be-purchases. Staff, however, was scant (probably because they had 5-6 cashiers ringing people up, which couldn't have been the norm). There was one lady on the 2nd floor who helped me find a title, but soon disappeared when I needed her again. While I understand this weekend was better, and I'm well-aware of labor shortages, etc.—more staff who are clearly responsible for assisting customers find items is always a necessity. This store has TONS of selection and lots of seating at the Barnes & Noble Café. Unfortunately, the Café doesn't accept Starbucks loyalty (which isn't a complaint specific to this store, as that's the case at ALL Barnes & Noble Café locations) but the staff members were friendly. I wish I'd visited this location with fewer customers (again, we just chose the busiest weekend ever to be there) because it wasn't the most enjoyable experience with that many people.

I started coming to Barnes and noble as a place my toddler can come to explore new books and enjoy walking around. That part is always a 5star experience. This review is for all the times I’ve been to the cafe and been treated as someone who’s bothersome to the cafe staff- particularly one person. There’s always a man there that just seems to hate his job and just can’t be bothered by customers. Spend enough time here and you’ll know which man with an attitude I’m talking about. He’s not shy to let you know how he feels (passively). Every time I see him coming up to the cafe, I have to prepare my energy to be patient because he’s there for his job and that job is not to serve people or foster community. What’s the purpose of an efficient cafe if your customers are treated poorly? Wheres the beauty in enjoying a coffee or pastry when your experience starts with the feeling of guilt for wanting to order something? This is the feeling I get whether he’s opening the cafe or working midday. Come for the books, but don’t stay for the coffee. Plenty of other coffee shops who are always happy to have you -be it across the street or down the road.

AMAZING BOOKSTORE! I have been to a couple of different Barnes and Nobles stores in the Texas area and this one by far is one of the best locations I have been to. (possibly ever) This book store offers two floors of books. The selection and variety they have is simply astonishing. I also appreciate how amazing it smells upon arrival with the Starbucks right there by the door. They had a little bit of everything I was looking for. My family came in from out of town and were in awe by how large this bookstore is and all of the great products they offered here. We walked in to "just browse" and we all left with something in hand. I definitely take this place at face value; it is a high quality book store that is nice enough to allow its customers to sit there and read a book. I see mixed reviews where some folks aren't impressed by the size of this place, but I am here to express my opinion... this store is BIG AND IMPRESSIVE! I also saw one where they said the staff was rude, but I had a completely different experience. Keep up the great work! You and the store are amazing!

Terrible!!! My boyfriend and I are college students and we went there to study thinking it would be nice to have somewhere quite to study and do homework. Well my boyfriends computer died and there are not any plugs in the cafe they have so he went to look for one and sat down to plug his computer in. There was no one around and a guy comes up to him and tells him he cannot use the plug. My bf asked out of curiosity why? All the guy could tell him is “because I said so and in the past I told other people so I can’t treat you differently” he could not give us any other reason. He was just straight rude to him when he asked. We get coffees there and go there to buy our books but we will not from now on. If the guy would have respectful told us a reason other then he said so we would have understand but he was very rude!!!!! On top of that with covid, there were people in there without mask walking around and they want to get on him for using a plug while wearing his mask and nobody was around that area. Terrible people!!! Ridiculous!!!

I recently purchased the B&N Exclusive TAZ graphic novels online and received them damaged. However, I returned them quickly and painlessly at this store and it went wonderfully. To my luck, they did have 1 of the B&N Exclusive books on the shelf so that was a plus. However, as other reviewers have stated, the organization for books is a little difficult. Certain graphic novels are organized in the young adult section instead of the graphic novel section. The manga also has two additional carts that you must look through as it contains books sometimes not on the shelves. Nonetheless, they do have a great amount of items, from stationary, toys, plushes, KPOP albums, magazines, puzzles, games, to a variety of books. They are also seemingly re-organizing their store ever couple of months as each time I've visited the store looked completely different!

Let me go ahead and informed the public about the quality of people this company is willing to hire now! The store closes at 9pm , I arrived at the cafe at 8:30pm and the gentlemen who was working , informed me that since it’s a “quite” night he has the right to refuse service , luckily I ask the manager on duty & was informed that it was NOT true, after the manager spoke with him , I tried to explain that I just wanted to know for the future, this gentleman was not even man enough to look at me in the eye and acknowledge what I just said , B&N has been a great company that has been around, please please do not employee these type of people if you want your company to be around in the future because with him around this will be a great way to lose business, this happen Wednesday 5/25 around 8:30pm

: Covid 19 edition review: Barnes and Noble is a brick and mortar book store and gift shop. If you still like physical media and books, you can't go wrong here. They carry the newest book releases and other classics plus magazines. There's a coffee shop as well if you fancy a cup of Joe. The store has paired back some stock because of social distancing. There's less shelves to make the store roomier, and as a result the store has fewer items than usual. Also less employees it seems. Not their fault, but still something to consider if you visit. This location is across the popular North Park Mall.

Love coming here, bonus points for having the Starbucks cafe! Relaxing atmosphere for book-searching and reading. If you have kids and want to have them explore books, there's a whole children's section on the second floor. The one thing I've noticed many times when I've gone is that several of the YA books I've had in my to-read list are not available in-store, but that could just be my bad luck. It doesn't take away from my experience because there's always a book to be read somewhere within this bookstore!

  • Rose A

Not sure why there are amazing pictures of other bookstores on the reviews of this Barns and Noble. I went there thinking it was a really cool unique one and it’s just like all the others. I asked the girl in the childrens section for a book, I had to wait to ask because she was on the phone, on the speaker, taking a personal call. When I asked if they had the book she said they did not but it said it’s there according to the website. It’s obvious she did not want to help me.

The staff was super friendly and I just wanted to come on here to let y'all know. I don't remember their names but whoever helped me find Cien Anos de Soledad and esperanza rising (you know who you are) was a huge help and looked with me for 5+ minutes on the shelf even though she was busy stocking other things. All three staff members I talked with were very helpful and super friendly about it too. Also had the books I needed desperately for secret Santa so thanks guys

I apologize if I look out of aplace I bought tons of books from Barnes & nobles over the years and some from here it's a place where I get a break staffing always been nice to me and friendly recently some gave me some dirty looks with a smile but it's okay I've been stopping by here for 10 years and I've seen people steal from the store I didn't report it I feel bad because this is a good store but we can all remember never judge a book by its cover

The JOY I had walking in to this store for the first time was beyond what I even knew I was going to experience!! I was a frequent shopper of the Sundance Square B&N before it was closed a couple of years ago. Ever since then this was the first B&N to bring that kind of joy! Total surprise! The store was clean and the staff was friendly too, as to be expected of the other B&N's! We will be making this our regular store!

  • Bruce Wagner

Well stocked and helpful staff. Great place to relax and have a coffee at Starbucks. If you are looking for a particular book this is a good place to find it. My Barnes & Noble hasn't changed still a good place to find a book your looking for or find one you weren't looking for, and have a coffee drink. The store is well stocked and the staff are very helpful. They also have a great magazine section if you're into that.

  • barbara mcgarry

Hey guys , if you need to get some alone time...I went to Barnes and they have some great new books. I even picked up some teen puzzles...to challenge my self to finish in a hour...as most of us don't have a thousand piece puzzle time...the people there are so great..helping when needed ...discounts if books are tattered...I love this place... bring the kids to get them in to reading..

  • Potato Seal

3.5 ✨! Beautiful store and patient staff! I recently became a Barnes & noble premium member and was supposed to get a free tote but the cashier up front had no clue what I was talking about. Another cashier said the tote won’t be available until the summer. But I visited another location, they gave me a tote right away! Will still be visiting this store though when I’m in the area!

  • Russell Darrington

Great B&N store. I love the layout and the way they set out several books by interest. For example. They had a table set up with the title, “Books every man should read once.“ Of course, I stopped and perused the titles. I noticed several that I had read or dipped into, and several that I needed to. I also love that they have a café inside this Barnes & Noble.

They shut the water fountain off and force people to buy bottled water in their Cafe. As someone who does not buy water in a plastic bottle and sees water as a commodity, the last thing I want to do is support the corporations stripping people of a basic right to water. Absolutely shameful and obvious money grab. We live in a dystopian nightmare.

  • Chance Lee

Came here for Christmas gifts, but I was treated very rudely by the cashier at register 5 who raised her voice and shooed us away with her hand for walking up to the wrong counter at checkout. Please reconsider how you speak to your customers if you want to keep peoples business. I don’t plan on returning to this location again thanks to this.

  • Chrystal White

There is plenty of space to move around without bumping into someone or something, and the staff are courteous & friendly without being pushy. While I didn't find the books I was looking for (not newer releases), they seem to have a nice selection from which to choose. They also have loads of cute gifts for booklovers (more feminine.)

  • Erik Hobbs

Staff here is very helpful, soon as I walked in the door got greeted. Went to the service desk, found a book I was looking for really great had a peek around the have a great kids section upstairs. They also have a coffee shop inside, so if you want to sit down, read a book and have a coffee, you can't secluded, real, nice and quiet.

  • Colleen Schmidt

Staff was super helpful. There was a book listed in stock on webpage and in their system, but we couldn't actually find it (hence -1 star). Yet, the staff really did go above and beyond in trying to help. It seemed I could always find someone to help me out on the floor without issue. Largeish selection of manga and light novels.

  • G Holland

The store's shelving reorganization has made it very difficult to find the book that you desire. Although a new addition was available we had to look in several sections before we located it. Finally, two of the store employees were able to track it down and I was in able to leave the store after cashing in my gift card.

  • Christina Duncan

I so love having a beautiful brick and mortar bookstore to visit instead of only looking for books online, and Barnes & Noble is that!!! I would really grieve if they were not here! In the future that is where I will start my book searches. Plus they can order, too, for delivery to the store or home. Very helpful staff!

  • Isaac Lindgren

Largest Barnes & Noble in the area, but unless you are in the cafe area you'll find little seating available. This didn't used to be the case but most of their chairs were removed a few years ago to the detriment of the customer experience here. Edit (3/1/23): seating situation is improved. Bumping the rating to four ⭐.

  • Catrina Wallace

Great selection of books but not too many from black authors. However any book they dont have they can order it for you or tell you if its at another location. Good customer service. No one was at the customer service booth but I only stood there for 2 minutes before someone showed up.

  • Tony Parodi

I went to the Starbucks inside the Barnes & Nobles. With a brief look around the bookstore. For Texas.. It didn't seem very large. The coffee and croissant were as expected. They had a seating area that they allowed me to sit in for an hour while I did some calligraphy. No complaints.

  • AP PR

My new spot! This place is what every Barnes and Noble should be, majestic! It's beautiful on the inside and the employees are super sweet and helpful. The Starbucks sits on a stage and the baristas are sweet. If you're in the mood to buy a book or just browse a bookstore stop by!

  • Nelson Ortiz

Cashier was not pleasant. Bought a gift card for present and didn't offer the card to place it in. Additionally said it would not fit and that was totally incorrect. He should be kinder to all customers, specifically at this time of the year. Spread happiness not grumpiness!!!

  • Emanuel Salinas

Called ahead, found what I was looking for and grabbed. All within 20 minutes. (Beat that!) The customer service is always so amazing. Their inventory is awesome. Sure to find a fun or more serious reading. Still great, practical, makes last minute gift finding excellent.

  • Lennan Lemons

Huge selection of many diffrent books and study items. They have records and cds and even board games. Includes a starbucks with plenty seating and more seating avaliable upstairs. Also has a great children's selection! I would recommend this store for a cozy experience!

  • Sherman_sucks lol

They didn't have the book I was looking for, and they didn't even bother trying. Just so indifferent. Now I did have pleasant experience with this location in the past (I bought 2 books from here back in October) but today was, meh. Half price books got it right though.

  • Marcayla Arnold

It's clean, smells like a library and has very polite staff. It was actually my first time in a Barnes and Noble store, and it was for an event. This particular location has a Starbucks inside with a nice little seating area, parking is super convenient right out front.

  • Holland Taylor

The store is great but the coffee snack shop totally sucks. Most of the employees at the coffee shop are rude and one of the young guys didn't even put cappuccino in my latte. I had the girl remake it and it was good. The coffee shop used to be good. What happened?

  • Gregory Bell

Visited coffee bar and did some work from laptop. Ordered a couple frozen coffee drinks (Carmel macchiato) but they were too sweet for my taste buds. So they swapped them out for coffees. Had some delicious peanut butter cookies. Staff was very pleasant and kind.

  • Donna Garcia

This is a one stop book store!. From books to stationery, toys - they have it!. What I love most about the place is the corner for kids to read books. As a mom, I value a book store that allows kid to sit down and browse books before they asked me to buy it!

  • Paul Youngblood

Loved the ambience. Huge selection and the staff were helpful, yet not pushy or weird (if you know what I mean) overall cool location to visit. The barista at Starbucks could have made my praline latte wayyyy better but won't hold that against B and N.

  • Shannon Muller

We only came for the Starbucks located inside. The store was not busy at all. There was only one person working the Starbucks, so we did have to wait in line for a few minutes, but no big deal. I had a frapp and cupcake that was delicious!!!!! …

  • Lucy hanna

Staff were so nice. I went here for fun and ending up buying a squishable plauge nurse. I was specifically looking for a book called "dead city" but couldn't find it. Thank you staff for asking me if I found what I was looking for! Will come back.

  • Remington Garfield

Has plenty of tables and cafe to work from but no outlets. Was told I had to leave when I attempted to use the outlet for my laptop why studying right under my table in the cafe. Had a book I was going to purchase but quick way to loose customers

  • Kristopher Velazquez

Bethany the cashier lady was very nice. I called before I went to purchase this Batman Spawn Barnes & Noble exclusive comic. They said yes we have some. Very friendly team unlike the store at fire wheel BN in Garland. Great job Dallas location!

  • Matha Goram

Not as big as I would like my B&N stores (mid-town versus suburbia) to be but no less satisfying for the infrequent browsing that i indulge in. Plus, the barista single-handedly kept the queue waiting time very short to exceed expectations.

  • Daniel Puckett

You get what you pay for! Which is arguably too much in this case. This book store is filled to the brim with everything you could possibly need, and the premium price is the only down side to the experience. Anyone looking for the latest

  • Nicole Cook

Really great selection of books and gifts, has recently been remodeled & the layout is fantastic on both floors. Friendly employees and a cute little cafe, definitely worth checking out even if you’ve been to a number of B&N locations.

  • Protection Specialist

They get a 5 I have been looking for a book for sometime, and they had it, I arrived, it was already up front for me. I decided to look around. The staff guided me through the store to the topics I had requested. Happy, humorous and

  • Ron Edgington

Today, 12 Sep 23, at 10:15am, coffee guy had a serious attitude. Watched him be rude to the person in front of us, then he was rude to us. Hey B&N: you may wanna send your Barista to a job he likes. He doesn’t like this one.

  • Elise Zelanko

Not my fav B&N but definitely very nice. The cafe staff though are so kind and patient. My son was not having a good day and dropped his drink not once but twice and they were so kind assisting with the clean up.

  • Jennifer Rao

Wonderful Selection of Books and Magazines - Great Selection of Games and Puzzles - Excellent Stocking Stuffing Trinkets - Spacious and Clean - Nice Coffee Shop - Quick WiFi Downstairs - Fabulous Service :)))))

  • Cindy Dowdle-Schoen

So much fun to browse all the fantastic books in the store. You can sit back and enjoy a Starbucks from the little Cafe. There's even a second level with everything from cooking to gardening and kids books.

  • Matt R

Great selection. I love how large the display is at the front of the store. Only room for improvement would be to have more cashiers. I love the personal notes under some titles from store employees.

  • Carlos Vergara

Best B&N store in the Metroplex, bar none. The location, selection, employees, etc. are all top shelf. If you haven't been, do yourself a favor and go. Bonus: great shopping and dining in the area.

  • Ana Becerra-Ortiz

Brought the kids to find a board game. They loved the store, said it was very cool. Like a big toy store, better that toys'r'us! They said they felt like they were in a bookstore from the movies.

  • Chelsea

I had a good experience with multiple team members greeting me and asking if I needed anything and making recommendations. I wish I got their names as that was a pleasant and welcomed surprise.

  • James Rogers

Great B&N here. Two stories, tons of great nooks (pun not intended) for reading, relaxing. Books stores like these need to stick around. Some things the internet (Amazon) just cant replicate.

  • Seth Hall

I'm more of a used / vintage bookstore kinda DOODE! That being said if you need something recently published and can't wait this is the spot! P.S. best Starbucks in town is located inside!

  • F Jones

I have no idea what was going on but the employee was unnecessarily rude during check out. They also double charged 3 books of my books. Definitely my last time visiting this location.

  • Sarah Mahone

The store is nice and clean and has so many books but I will say it is hard to find all the sections the signs are on top the shelf but when your short it's a little hard to see them.

  • Dredle Dredle

Our son had a very specific category request. The store librarian was so sweet, patient and attentive ; she pulled 5 selections for him and they were all just what he was looking for.

  • Ryan Merrill

Friendly staff always willing to help in any way they can. Great selection, with a warm inviting atmosphere. I could spend all day here. The Starbucks inside is also a great perk!

  • Jill Weimer Koeninger

Huge store! My son's first time there to see a place that is full of books and fun trinkets. We are definitely going back when we have more time than just picking up a gift card.

  • Jordan Meyer

Best Barnes & Noble I have been to in a long time. This is a very large store with a wide collection. The staff is friendly and there is hand sanitizer available for customers.

  • Maria Montero

I like the staff here and , a good place to go meditate. If your in a relationship and both of you are struggling through it when there use to be a spark please read this

  • Debora Manusama

Love that it’s so spacious and the children’s area is awesome! Starbucks now offers flatbreads so you don’t have to worry about going out of the store to get some food.

  • K

Staff are always so helpful and delightful makes the shopping experience nice! I always place orders for delivery so they always make the process so easy! Thank you

One of the few bookstores left. Very well stocked. The gift area has grown and the selection is vast. We enjoy doing a walk thru. Always end up buying something...

  • Shurooq Saryoul

The barista is amazing, and running a one-man show flawlessly. The clearance section is clearly visible on the second floor. Always a wonderful selection.

  • dave burton

Barns and Noble is always great. I go in with the intention of purchasing one book and end up purchasing over a hundred dollars of money well spent.

An abundance of books to explore, coupled with convenient restrooms and a delightful coffee shop. A haven for readers and coffee enthusiasts alike.

  • Gabriel Medina

Awesome selection of books, with great reading areas. The staff are incredibly helpful and the the coffee area is big. Highly recommend this place.

  • Michael Teleha

They don’t have the help desk anymore. Took a while to get help looking for a book. It was on a table at the back of the store. Miss the help desk.

  • Owen Craven

It's a basic Barnes and Noble. A great selection of books and games. The escalator wasn't working, and seems to go out frequently or something

  • Candy Brintnall

What a wonderful B&N! The children's area upstairs is so full of every single thing kid's love. It's a lovely store with helpful associates!

  • Natalie T

Poorly organized, staff acted annoyed when I asked for help finding a section. I’m just going to stick to the smaller book stores …

  • Jesus Armendariz

Nice 2 story Barnes and Noble with plenty of books to see and a nice Starbucks located within it. Highly recommend visiting this place.

  • Rachel Buchanan

Still smells like Barnes & Noble has always smelled. It's a good smell; like warm fuzzies, fresh coffee, new books, and wide aisles.

  • J. H.

Loved every minute being there. There’s a wide selection of books everywhere! It’s so amazing!! We’ll definitely be coming back.

  • Nicholas Blossfeld
