Quiet, clean and large bookstore with tons of options for everyone. I'm not an avid book reader myself, but I do pop in time to time to buy books as gifts for friends who do read on a regular basis. Maybe it's because I'm not a reader myself, but man is it almost always an adventure in finding where specific books are here. Usually if it's not busy, I'll ask an associate so they can show or tell me where something specific is, or they're pretty good about recommendations after getting a general taste of what you're looking for, but I really wished they had a bit more developed website to establish what sections books are in if they may be divided between two or more genres. Besides that and often being more expensive than their competitors, it's a nice place to check out some new books with an extremely broad selection.

It's a very nice-looking location and the parking garage helps. I was just surprised as to how small and limited their selection was. If you are looking for something specific, I would suggest Sugarland as they have a better selection. Especially if you are looking for sci-fi or fantasy as the selection was incredibly limited at this location, as was their children's section. So if you are looking for summer reading list books, perhaps a different location would be better for you. However the staff was very friendly and tried very hard to help us.

B&N needs to get back to music and coffee on the weekends. They don’t do a very good job of drawing crowds anymore. They’ve also made it less comfortable to sit around and read. The chairs used to be strategically located by outlets and you could sit with a few friends to chat and maybe get a little work done when alone. I used to spend a ton in this store as did others I’m sure. They need to get back to the basics. I loved it when they used to let a band set up in the cafe at some locations on a Friday/Saturday evening. Rethinking my membership.

The people that work here were very helpful. I asked one girl for help on finding a section and she walked me to where I needed to be. The guy at checkout was in a great laughing mood. What more ca you ask for? All I want is to have a smooth checkout with a pleasant person with a smile. GOOD JOB! Finally I had to ask someone to order a book that they did not have in stock. It took about a week for them to get the book delivered. They hold it for about 3-4 days and than it gets put back on the shelf. You can call in to try and extend it.

This location was rude, and told me lies. Automatically assumed things, just come people are in jail or in a horpital, they can't send it to them from the store, only online. Wft!? What's the difference? The fact that I want to go into a store and get a feel of the book before I send it! I've been to my normal b&n and they've done it for me for a year now. Nice selection, but rude rude people, wouldn't even explain the "problems" they had in the past with doing so. I won't be back to this location.

I love this bookstore. Have been visiting it for many years now. It's a big library of books where you can literally find any genre of books. It has two floors and is quite spacious, so you never feel crowded. You can spend your day looking and reading your favorite books. I am sure you will not want to come out. Even little kids can have fun playing and reading. The staff is nice and even helped me find a book. You can go there anytime. The parking space is huge and usually not very crowded.

Huge Barnes & Noble store with a spacious 2-story building with countless items to browse. The shelves are well-organized and the store is clean and feels roomy. They have a spacious cafe where one can enjoy delicious pastries (by Cheesecake Factory) & beverages (by Starbucks). Restrooms are clean. They have a free parking structure behind the store. Workers are on the floor ready to assist. Always enjoyable to visit!

This is my favourite Barnes and Noble in the city. It stays clean. I can work and have a cup. I can. Browse books. It is always well stocked. If Barnes and Noble have a signed book you can find it here without a problem. The staff is helpful. There is ample parking. Located with its own Starbucks bit there a a 100 metres walk in the car park. Revisited this sd store remains clean. A variety of books and vinyl.

Had been a couple of years since I've stepped foot in here. It's a nice two story bookstore with a variety of things from books to vinyl records, and lots of other things. And employees there just need to mind their damn business about things they don't know. And I know about the rude stupid customer with the dog that was in there cause I heard what the f that was saying. Nov.12

This is my favorite Barnes and Noble location. The store is spacious and clean. Lots of parking, including plenty of covered parking. The recent store remodel has really improved this location. I often come here to just hangout and have coffee. With the plethora of restaurants and shopping nearby, I’m always up for a trip to this area of town.

I will be forever grateful to this store... we left our phone there, but live 2 hours away. The employee there, Kennedy, was outstanding and went to her manager and got permission to mail our phone back to us. Also need to mention all of the other great employees and it's also an extremely well kept store. Thanks River Oaks Barnes and Noble!!

Wide selection of books. Nothing like spending time in a bookstore looking choice of books and buying the ones you like….. and no place better than B&N. I have always found the staff to be very helpful and the checkout counter staff smilingly interact with you. It’s these “experiences” that has always made me visit this B&N store again …….

  • Theodore Carrero II

One of the greatest places to organize my daily operations. Can't wait to have my own internet website, community center, new wave elderly home, homeless work ready station, newsletter, column, magazine monthly article, book deals, women's clothing line, club, pop up franchise, etc & misc. Barnes & Noble is awesome. …

  • Jackie Oesterman

This is the closest location and I go here in need of gifts, books, magazines, etc. They always have a great selection of things, the store is clean and organized, and there are actually people here who will help you. Items can be ordered, they call you upon arrival, and make shopping a pleasure rather than a chore.

  • Jorrell Dove

Bought a couple of books and a caramel frappuccino. A lot of people but it wasn't crowded, service was fast and efficient. Has a great variety of books, music CDs and DVDs plus Blu-ray. I'm sure there's something for everyone here. One of the escalators didn't work (the one that takes you down), so that was a pain.

  • Sean Michael Plumb

A monolith that somehow feels personal and local. Wonderful and caring service from the staff who are all eager to share their individual and unique tastes in the books. A constant, happy bustling of customers from all walks of life make this a community gathering point in which the entire area should take pride.

  • Anna Wallace

I love this Barnes and noble. The staff are very nice and helpful, they have endless book options, and there’s a Starbucks inside. Only complaint is not their fault - the parking outside is pretty complicated and frustrating at times. Otherwise, this is a good place to grab a book or any other stationary!

  • fortressonahill

There are many B&Ns in Houston. I'm glad that I picked this one to do my giftshopping at. The staff were absolutely the most helpful B&N employees I've ever met, and I think that is saying something because B&N employees tend to be kind and enthusiastic in general. They helped me find the perfect gift.

  • Mr. Mccoy

You can't go wrong with Barnes & Noble. The staff is friendly and helpful. The store is well kept, neat, and organized. There are a variety of items on both levels. The on-site Starbucks is an added bonus. This is always a great place for me to bring my laptop and sit down to get some things done.

  • David Waddell

I like this location because it feels more personalized with recommendations and the staff know what they are talking about. There's a good selection here. The check out procedure takes a little while and the line backs up. The parking is great here. The 2nd floor is like a toy store upstairs.

  • Janeé Staples

It was huge with so many great varieties. The staff was friendly and everyone was smiling... so welcoming. It was clean, organized and I spent 2 hours in there not realizing how sucks in i was to the options of books. My 10 year old daughter loves it and wants to go back every week now.

  • Charli Warli

Come drink coffee, read, browse completely free of any sales associate harassing you about buying something. If you are looking for something in specific the staff will go above and beyond to help. I come to read and be somewhere peaceful. I love this location

  • Siddhartha Sen

It's a beautiful store. There are lots of books for every age and come with Starbucks. The upstairs floor has books for adults as well. Not sure why but I was a bit confused when I read the signs inside the store. Make a stop if you have some time.

  • Nadja Williamson

They have so many areas to sit and read or get a little work done. Huge selection, and I love that they expanded their manga/graphic novel sections so that it made it easier for me to find gifts for all of my friends and family in one place!

  • Jae Megan

Would be 5⭐ but the child's section attendant was very cold, not engaging or welcoming at all. I would expect different with someone in the childrens section.. my 1 yo was walking around and put some stuffies on the floor which we picked up

  • patricia rangel

During our recent trip, my family and I had the pleasure of visiting the Barnes & Noble location for the first time. Despite having limited time, we managed to stop by for a couple of nights, and I must say, it was a delightful experience.

  • Kim C.

Great selection updating but wish the cafe wd be more comfortable even if you had to pay some kind of small fee for the cafe or their wd be a separate cafe or more comfy chairs to sit in upstairs by the windows where best natural light is.

  • Jason T.

I was greeted at the door at opening(10:00 a.m.) and the store was amazingly clean. You could literally smell the scent of new books in the air. The staff were attentive to my needs and assisted me to the section where I located my book.

  • Na Li

A great bookstore with a huge selection. Easy parking and knowledgeable staff. I really enjoyed spending time in the anti-Amazon of bookstores. Seeing parents with kids touching, previewing and buying books is such a good thing. …

  • Briana Donis

Such a large selection and their new addition of Paper Source products is amazing. I spent at least 45 minutes in that section. They have a WIDE selection of beautiful and unique journals. The customer service was helpful as well!

Great place to people watch on the Weekend. The Inner Loop area of Houston will always be special to me. At that time of my life I lived with an Older Cousin of mine who was very Street Smart. Thanks for the Memories Rueben.

As usual. B&N is my favorite place for getting a book and having a pleasant reading time. Something you other your book in advance; happens a couple of times.

  • Steadtler A

Employees were helpful but they didn't have anything of what I wanted, including things the web page said they had. Waste of time.

Nice 2 story location, clean & organized. I wish there was more seating throughout other than the few tables in Starbucks.
