Received an automated call at 10:15 am this morning letting me know I have a perscription ready for pickup. I hadn't called in any perscriptions and my regulars were a week+ out. So I figured I will call and find out what it is that needs picking up. Phone rings twice pharmacist picks up phone and this is at 3:15 pm not their busy hours and says please hold puts me on hold. I waited 30min then decided to drive up if their that busy but I never hung up let the timer go and I walk in their is no giant line I was expecting and one person in front of me less then 1 min wait. I walk up to cash register attendant ask him why I'm on hold he ask what I mean and I show him my phone and ask why I'm on hold he looks at all the phones walks up to pharmacist who acknowledged she has someone on hold and then says a few more things and he walks back says he is sorry and I can talk to her if I want. she never even made I contact. I tell him about my automated call he looks it up says I have nothing in system to pick up and I said that's why I called versus driving here wasting my time. He says sorry again and I leave with zero satisfaction. Barbells is worthless Safeway is faster! and the one by me has a Pharmacy in store while I shop. thanks again bartells.

This review is for the pharmacy ONLY. They are AWFUL I’ve never had such a problem with a pharmacy in my whole existence. They put you on hold for forever. Extremely unhelpful and rude, it doesn’t seem like they know what they’re doing. Except for maybe one interaction I’ve had. The wait times for prescriptions are ridiculous as they’ve told me mine will be ready in a hour, I come back in 2 hours already estimating that they’ll be slow only for them to say it’ll be ANOTHER hour while I am in pain. I’ve tried to update my contact information with them and it never works. I had another month of a refill of my prescription and was told I didn’t multiple times when I DID. They would not contact my doctor themselves and fix any sort of miscommunication and I tried myself too!! Idk if they don’t know how to read or what. Because of them I missed 15 days of a medication that I needed. That’s not even the half of it. Otherwise, I don’t recommend this pharmacy. Doesn’t matter if it’s close by just go to the Bartells down the hill cause this is so ridiculous.

They have a "new" pharmacy tech, named Katie iirc. She's extremely rude and possessive of the prescriptions until the chime for the card authorization goes off. Today was the third time now, the first two times she snarled at me and got angry about my requesting and insisting she hand me my meds I've paid for at that point. This time she was slightly nicer, since there was a crowd, but the end result was the same. I don't understand why I'm getting treated like a perspective thief by this one employee. Literally no one else working there treats me like this. I don't dress sloppy, I look put together, I don't smell bad, I'm pleasant until she gets rude, etc. Like damn, I'm not even trying to bolt out the door or even giving that body language. No other store I shop at treats me this way, in nearly 40 years of life this person is the first to be so adamant about maintaining possession of goods I have paid for like I wouldn't return to the counter if I'd stepped away and there ended up being an unlikely issue with the transaction.

I had to manually transfer my prescription from the now closed Lower Queen Anne Bartells to this location. Every single time I try to come in and pick up a prescription, it takes 30-45 minutes minimum. I have tried calling in countless times asking about the status of a prescription and have never once had my phone call answered. I've left messages and never once received a call back or communication in any way. I can't blame this on the employees of the store or pharmacy, this is clearly the result of Rite Aid purchasing this company and the subsequent bankruptcy filing. This can barely be considered a store anymore, this is an asset waiting to be sold off. Absolutely shameful way to run a critical business in a community. I will be forced to move my prescriptions to another pharmacy and consider both Rite Aid and Bartells as a brand and company to be entirely decrepit and without value. To the bot that will invariably respond to this review: send this feedback directly to CEO Elizabeth Burr.

Update #3: Not sure what is happening with this store, but the staff is not as friendly or helpful, and the shelves are surprisingly empty, especially in the pharmacy area. Oh and the super long lines and wait times are still a thing. Update #2: As many others mention, the pharmacy continues to have problems — they don’t answer the phones, prescriptions are not done on time (when they say it will be ready), and there are always long lines. Unfortunately it seems we need to move to another pharmacy. Update #1: Love our neighborhood Bartell’s, but needed to add that the pharmacy has had very long lines and not able to get prescriptions done on time. Hope things get sorted out soon. I buy a lot of the local chocolates and gifts from Bartell’s and this location offers many local craft beers on tap to fill your growler.

I am only writing this review to hopefully help other people that need medicine. Do not waste your time, do not waste gas going to this store. Whether it’s a prescription that’s supposed to be filled for the fifth time or an over-the-counter medicine, they will not have it. And you will wait a looooong time in the pharmacy line just to learn that they don’t have it again. I’ve worked in supply chain for a long time, so when Covid hit I was very sympathetic to this sort of thing, but whatever this store is doing is pathetic. No offense intended to the on-site staff, they usually seem pretty nice despite being understaffed. Go to any other pharmacy in Seattle if you actually need something.

I would leave a zero stars if I could. I'm actively angry at Bartell Drugs for DELETING my prescription for Dexcom G7 when I tried to refill it. The insurer wouldn't cover it when I tried to pick the order up a few days early before I went on a trip, so I tried to pick up my G7 order when I came back and found that the prescription for the G7 was deleted. They also told me that my insurance wouldn't cove the G7, but I called my insurer and they confirmed that they DO cover the Dexcom G7 AND that they would cover a refill. I've had issues with Bartell's service in the past (a different location) but this is the last straw. I am done with them.

I'm extremely disappointed with Bartell Drugs following their merge with Rite Aid. This pharmacy chain used to be great, but now that it's under new corporate management the wait times at the Queen Anne pharmacy are incredibly long. Expect to wait at least 30 minutes in line before speaking with the pharmacy team. And don't be surprised if they don't have your prescription filled when it's finally your turn to speak with them. I imagine that this is because Rite Aid closed 3+ Bartell Drugs stores in downtown Seattle in a relatively short period of time. It's a mess and I recommend finding a different pharmacy to fill your prescriptions.

  • Erik Trom

Slow, inconsistent with their responses; "system down" or "we're busy", it's always something. I live above their location and walk in sometimes, just to see the line length. It's always empty. The Bartells located down the street at 600 1st Ave N. is clearly a more well run store. I made a poor choice switching to N Queen Anne. Use their 24 pharmacy on 600 1st. Period. Other options: CVS is also down the street. Walgreens is on 5th and Denny RiteAid is on 3rd Safeway is across the street from Bartells Upper Queen Anne QFC is on Mercer and Taylor use any of those, but I highly recommend not using Bartells Upper Queen Anne location

  • April Gleason

Worst bartell pharmacy location ever. I am consistently disappointed with this particular location and it’s pharmacy in particular. On previous visits their staff have been extremely unprofessional so I stopped using them. My preferred location was recently closed so I thought I would give them another shot. My doctor swears they got the prescription, it does not show in their computer and if I call it’s a 20 minute wait to even talk to a person. Pretty useless. This location should be closed immediately, no pharmacy would absolutely be better than this trash pharmacy.

Update: still 1 star. 1hr lines all day everyday. This is easily the worst managed pharmacy I’ve ever been to. How about….hiring some help? Awful. They actually refused to contact my GP after refills were out, despite the text saying that that’s what they were doing. I was asked by multiple employees to do it myself because they were too busy. Apparently they kept trying to contact the wrong person, even after I told them the number to use. This is only the latest of many issues I’ve had. I’d suggest looking elsewhere if all you need is consistency and professionalism.

  • Ashlee Peterson

I am perplexed by the pharmacy situation here. Been trying to get a prescription filled for over a week and every time I show up, the pick-up line is well over an hour wait. And when I finally commit to waiting, they tell me they don’t even have a prescription on file but then refuse to help any further. They then asked me to step out of the way so they can help the next customer instead of me. And when I attempt to call to discuss the issue, no one ever picks up, giving no other choice but going back in and waiting. Absolute insanity.

  • Nichole Martin

Do not send your pharmacy orders to this location. It takes 30-50 minutes to get a prescription. Half the time there is one person working the window and the line spans over 6 aisles long. I will be moving ALL my prescriptions to a different drug store that can actually get me my meds without having to take half of the afternoon. People’s medications are extremely important and you are making it nearly impossible to get the necessary services needed. Figure it out…you’re losing customers. If you even care.

  • J Free

This has been my pharmacy for 5 years and I had no issues. After being bought by rite aid, they have become unreliable. Prescriptions not ready on time, poor customer service. I went to pick up a prescription and they were closed- a hand written sign stated their new hours but they failed to update those hours online. I had to scramble and find another way to get my prescription. Ended up calling my doctor and having it resent somewhere else. Finally done with them

  • Mike MacDowell

My favorite Bartells in the Seattle area! Any of the negative comments you see for this store are from rich privileged people who have never worked retail a day in their lives. They don't understand why things happen the way they do. The pharmacy crew is hard working and very attentive to customer needs, much better than Safeway, CVS, or Walgreens. The only reason for delay at Bartells is because they are so popular with people who have some sense of reality.

  • Chelsey Glasson

Worst pharmacy ever. Always a long line and I’ve had multiple instances of issues, with some staff being incredibly rude in the face of mistakes. During my last visit I was told I would need to pay out of pocket for my son’s prescription, despite having insurance, because of a data entry error that Bartell’s software wouldn’t let the pharmacists fix. I was then encouraged to switch pharmacies if I didn’t want to unnecessarily pay out of pocket in the future.

  • Peter Schulte

Bartell Drugs is expensive but convenient. I think that this one is open 24 hours, not that I need a drug store at night. But for your regular personal hygiene items, they probably have it. When I need a watch battery changed, I have these folks do it. Their seasonal merchandise is worth a browse, o matter what the holiday or season, they have pretty good variety. Free parking and friendly staff, with never a long line. Five stars!

  • Kalvin Hallesy

Pharmacy is impossible to get ahold of; literally can’t get ahold of them by phone after a week of trying. The one time they picked up, they hung up before I could even ask anything. The in person lines have consistently been an hour, if not way more, as well. Stay far away and use a different pharmacy, shame on Bartell’s for overworking and understaffing the pharmacy to this degree.

  • Trevor Russ

No working restroom available for paying customers. A staff member told me they have asked corporate repeatedly for it to be fixed, but they haven’t sent anyone out yet. Apparently they rely on Trader Joe’s across the street for customer restrooms. There are other reasons I dislike shopping here, but they are adequately captured in the other reviews.

  • Andrea Sanjines

After calling in to ask what time I should come in for my Rx, adding a few hours grace period, and then waiting in line for over 30 minutes, I get to the front to find that my prescription isn't ready. Even calling in takes about 5-10 attempts for someone in the pharmacy to pick up. I think they're severely understaffed at this location.

  • Erica Lee

I would like to recognize the staff at the pharmacy for their professionalism and compassion. They have always been very responsive and helpful when I’ve called or come in and are incredibly superior to the Bartels in my neighborhood. To the point that I am going out of my way to go to this pharmacy instead of the one near my house.

  • Oleg Grygorenko

You can't get any better than Bartell Drugs Queen Anne. The kindness, patience, and dedication is that you always can expect there. I have never had a problem with any of the staff or the pharmacy people, and it is always a pleasure to go there and have their professional and courteous behavior as a wonderful experience.

  • Paul Tonnes

Unceremoniously turned away for a Covid vaccine. Pharmacist said you have to make an appointment but the Bartells website says you can just walk in for a vaccine, no appointment necessary. The other reviews adequately reflect the disfunction at this location. It’s disappointing to watch a neighborhood decline so far.

  • Collin

Don't use this pharmacy, it has fully collapsed. Bartels can't seem to hire an adequate amount of staff, probably because they cannot pay their employees. Nobody answers the phone. The line will take an hour. And Bartels will not fix it because they are too cheap. Send your prescriptions elsewhere.

  • Amy S

Every time I have called they dont pick up the phone. If you call the front desk, they even can't get ahold of the pharmacy or you wait on hold forever. When you get the pharmacist he sounds massively depressed and hardly able to mutter a word. What in the world!?!?

  • Jordan Seagrove

Rite-Aid might be in the running for creating the worst pharmacies on the planet. This place is a national shame. I haven't seen such a terrible line outside of disaster areas. Per other reviews, there has been ample notification for this to be fixed.

  • J W

People were sitting on the floor today waiting for the pharmacy because the line was so long and slow. Other customers are posting similar reviews yet being routed to customer service. I'm transferring all my Rx to another service this evening.

  • Jm Escalona

The store is neat and clean and literally, every staff member seems to be happy to be there! Pharmacy staff is helpful even though they're busy during this pandemic, store leadership seems to be doing their best and their best is great!

  • Ethan Gums

Went here to get some ice cream with my best bud and it was 9:50 and they said they closed at 10 pm and the guy wouldn’t let us in just to grab some ice cream and they shouldn’t even be closed. The store also only had one good worker.

  • Ben Moses

4-5 separate times my wife has tried to get her prescription filled and each time we come in it’s not ready and they will need 15-30 to fill it. If it’s called in ahead of time, please fill the prescription. It’s happened too often.

  • Mariea Rensberger

The pharmacy here is outstanding, it really is our neighborhood pharmacy! They’ve truly helped us with prescriptions called to the wrong pharmacy & and other issues! I’m so happy Bartells is here!!! Thank you so much for all you do!

  • S A

The pharmacy is horrible. I work next door, so I’ve been checking back several times to get my prescription. Every time I check, there’s 10-20 people in line. It’s ridiculous. I’d recommend sending your meds anywhere else.

  • Matt Woywod

Since the acquisition by RiteAid, you are better off trying to get your meds from a tattooed Juggalo named Snake down on 3rd & Virginia than getting your prescription refilled at this absolute disaster scene of a pharmacy.

  • Lucas Drummond

15+ calls to the pharmacy over 5 days, no answer or call back on the voicemail i left about an urgent perscription request. Super unprofessional, even the bartells that just shut down in belltown never had this happen.

  • J P

They need to hire more pharmacists, there’s almost always a long and slow line. I have moved my prescriptions because it’s legitimately faster to drive to a different pharmacy than this one right next to my apartment.

  • T S

Always have some sweet deals. Pop in here before safeway or TJs to check if they have some better deals on the foodstuffs you need. The owner is very nice and open to feedback and suggestions on new products to carry.

  • Lila Tyler

don’t go to this pharmacy — seriously, just transfer your prescription elsewhere. the pharmacy is severely understaffed and lacks any form of communication to the point of essentially being nonfunctional.

  • Lana Wang

I don’t understand why the staff work at the front register talk about “ drugs “ at work, yes, this is pharmacy and you can make jokes, with kids shopping around and hearing that topic is so odd!

  • Sky Kelsey

I just found out that they want to charge me $300 for a prescription my insurance company only pays $180 for. Bartell is part of the problem with health insurance costs in this country.

  • Victor Peng

The pharmacy is now completely understaffed, overwhelmed, and they consistently miss their stated wait times. Quite often, 30 minute waits take hours. Avoid the pharmacy.

  • F S

Good signs, easy to navigate, and good service. Safeway across the street was disorganized and busy so Bartell was just the ticket for what I needed! Glad I found it.

  • Allison Boyce

This has been my pharmacy for years, but since the Rite Aid conversion, it is the worst. I had time to write this review because I've been standing in line so long.

  • Christine Williams

Outstanding service in the photo department. Ask for Andrew or Karoline when you want to scan photos. They could not have been more helpful or knowledgeable!

  • Paul Davis

Customer service is horrible and just forget about trying to reach someone by phone, if they do even answer the phone they will probably just hang up on you

  • Haley Parks

Phot printers rarely work but they don’t let you know they couldn’t complete your projects until after you have arrived to pick them up!! Horrible system.

  • Wes M

Wow. This pharmacy takes the cake for incompetence. If I could give it 0 stars I would. Bartell’s should just close down at this point. Useless.

  • Spencer Matlock

RiteAid killed this company. Everything is painfully slow now. I’m just waiting until they shut down the branch to move to a different pharmacy.

  • J H (JH)

Excessive waits across every aspect of the business. Rude staff in person and on the phone. Ultimately it seems as if the location is unmanaged.

  • Ryan Kaufman

This is a drugstore and this is a representative picture of their typical selection from the drug aisle. They probably don't have what you need

  • Ruby Salazar

The wait for pick up prescriptions takes more than 30 min and there's only one person taking care of pick up counter

  • Matthew Douglas

Good selection, very high prices, convenient locations at times. No rewards, no points off, no club memberships.

  • Trent

Phone convo just now: me: "Hey do you guys have blank_____?" them: "Maybe we're out." Hangs up immediately..

  • David Hutchinson

What a great store! Lovely staff, great selection, and open for those last minute emergencies. Thank you!!

  • Zyanya Alvarez

My life saver. This is the place where I find essentials and a good store to look around and kill time.

  • Nick O

No public restroom for paying customers. Pretty basic thing if you're going to operate a business.

  • Tegan Wallace

Glad they're in the neighborhood - we can find almost anything we need here! Helpful staff, too.

  • Chess Guttmann

worst customer service in my life. took nine months to fill a prescription. i hate it here :)

  • Brandon Lee

Cashier wasn’t helpful. Walked across the street to Trader Joe’s and everything went well.

  • Jeremy Leishman

Exactly like every other Bartell Drugs location you have ever been to or ever will visit.

  • Tom Oxley

Management runs this place on a skeleton crew at all times. Avoid this place if you can

  • Lu Zeng

Staff here are great at what they do, and the web interface is reliably easy to use.

  • Ramon Prydz

Has some great deals on your standard products and a fair selection of beer/wine.

  • Talia Escandar

Convenient pharmacy on Queen Anne Ave. Good quick stop for drugstore necessities.

  • Matty B

A great local drug store. I’m perpetually impressed by this store’s selection

  • John Smith

Always a great place to shop, but quite a bit more expensive than normal.

  • Callie Chadwell

Rude staff who ignore you and talk to each other instead of helping you.

  • BRIAN SMITH

Have gone in early. Make sure your wearing your mask. Friendly staff.

  • Dmitry Dmitriy

Персонал внимательный. Обслуживание быстрое. Ассортимент широкий.

  • Petr Shypila

They work until 9pm, not 10pm. Weekends even shorter times
