Coming to Belles on the weekend is a bit of a treat because that's the only time they do waffles and chicken. Every time I come here, it's been cooked to perfection and this time was no different besides the waffles which were a bit rushed and not crispy on the outside. However, the chicken was perfect. The service is also a surprise for a place that you would assume is just a takeaway with outdoor tables. I was greeted by a friendly waitress who escorted me to a table and was told I could order via the QR code on the table. I ordered and realised that there was a tipping option which probably wasn't required for a casual eatery like this. I decided not to tip and which also triggers the a mute button on the waitress simply bringing the drinks and food without saying anything further. That's people for you these days. I will come back for the food and the past waitresses have been very pleasant, even without tipping.

We got the buffalo and spicy chicken burger, mac and cheese, chips, $2 chicken wing, and the Arnold Palmer drink. Honestly, I was really excited to try this place since its halal but i was very underwhelmed. The wait time was around 35 minutes. The $2 chicken wings special showed a picture with more than one wing in the box so i was confused to receive 1 but it was good size & sauce was tasty, however it had gotten cold because it took long to arrive. The chicken burgers were ok, they pickles had a strange taste and the chicken was extremely salty. The mac and cheese was disappointing and very unseasoned and under salted. The ranch sauce tasted very yoghurt like without a strong taste but not too bad. The atmosphere was OK. However on a positive note the drink was quite tasty and the chips were nicely seasoned. The prices were honestly quite high for the portion sizes but this seems to be the norm in the CBD. This is just my opinion; and although I don’t think I’d come again it was certainly an experience!

Staff are friendly but took a while for staff to seat us, even though standing at the sign. Seating at 6pm, after work was busy and limited but it was moving relatively well. Whiskey sour and margarita cocktails were pricey but definitely would recommend again. Spice levels at belle would make an Indian happy. Mild spice had a lovely kick. Even one step from mid ... anything hotter (three levels) was definitely a throat burner. Was thoroughly lovely! Cool breeze and great atmosphere made the meal a good time.

Belles chicken is really good and I have gone there a few times. All the burgers had great taste. We also ordered chicken wings and tenders which are the best things to order at the restaurant. The food will be very spicy if you don't pay attention to the spice levels. We generally order traveller which is medium spice but for someone who doesn't prefer too much spice you would want to order lesser than that. Anything above traveller and it starts to get really hot. The taste of the food was great good. I liked the chips that they provide with the chicken or as a side and the taste is great. All in all it is a good place to eat if you want to eat chicken, the seating is communal with big and small tables and the location is amazing which makes it an enjoyable experience.

GREAT CONCEPT, POOR EXECUTION. We ordered the following: Pickles w/ranch sauce - Pickles were meh, ranch sauce was watery. Buffalo burger - Nothing special, the buffalo sauce was quite tart and needed something to balance it out. If you enjoy a good burger you may be dissapointed with this. Buffalo wings - Generous portions, juicy chicken but sooooo oily. My hands were covered in oil not sauce. The blue cheese sauce was again, watery. Mac and cheese - Very mushy!!! The structural integrity of the mac no longer existed. Tasted like baby food. Packet mac n cheese is better. Cardamon lemonade - Even this was bloody watery. My partner said it tasted like watered down cordial. Service - no complaints. Although the card surcharge is quite high via the app. Environment - Its a great location and great vibe. Just wish the food was better. This is the reason for the 3 stars not 2.

"Response from the owner: We also regret your decision to not wait for Ume Burger to reopen. Next time, eh." Exactly the response to a bad review I would expect from the small man on his laptop with an overinflated sense of self-importance. Chicken sandwich contained a small, thin, dry piece of fried chicken. Overall the taste was good but the texture and experience was very average. I would consider trying again to see if the same was true of a piece of chicken they weren't able to hide inside a sandwich. The waitress was friendly but overall service was lacking, and someone (presumably the manager?) important enough to take up the entire bar on a laptop was also very careful to ignore anyone who approached - creating a general unwelcome vibe. Blow your money somewhere else is my recommendation. I only came because Ume Burger next door was closed, and I truly regret the decision not to wait.

We had a pretty bad overall experience here yesterday. Walked in there to order some chicken, fries and drinks for over $70. Drinks came quickly but the food didn't show up for about an hour. We had to get in a bit of an argument with the staff (who were reasonable btw) before it finally came. The staff offered us a refund in the end but the food itself was very bad. Way too salty chicken and truly bad cauliflower. We left the place hungrier than we walked in sadly. Based on my experience, I would not be returning back nor would we recommend this place. Families better avoid this place during busy hours. Not worth it..

We were looking for a spot to a) pass the time until dinner, and b) get out of the heat on January 26. Belles was the perfect place! The whiskey bourbon slushie quenched my thirst, we were right by the water, and while we initially weren't trying to eat anything (potentially spoiling our dinner plans) the smell of the chicken was too enticing to ignore; so we split 4 chicken tenders and some fries. The tenders were coated in traveller seasoning, and while not spicy they do pack a good paprika hit. Do stop by if you're at Barangaroo, the friendly staff will be there to look after you.

Wow this place was great. As an American who knows hot chicken this was just perfect. The restaurant is located in a beautiful area in the Harbour so you can watch boats come in and out. I ordered the 2nd hottest level they had and it was hotter than most people would enjoy but I loved it. The pieces of chicken are huge. I also had the Mac and cheese which looked average but tasted great. They have their own branded beer which was a good combo with the chicken. The staff was great as well, one of the guys named Gytis was great to talk to and gave us some recommendations for my family to do. Our lunch couldn’t have been better and if we lived here we would be back for sure.

Really f*cken' hot tenders are the thing to get here. Make sure you get their chips and their bbq sauce too. Massively expensive for what it is, but worth every cent as it's really great food, plus people watching in darling harbour as you drink a beer. I hate lame attempts at juicy tenders that are supposed to be spicy hot and then out to be aldi-level knockoff heat. This stuff is the real deal. To cool off, go round the corner to the gelato place. Perfect meal.

Definitely the hottest chicken wings I've ever had! Me and my bf ordered really f**king hot wings and they didn't disappointed us. The wings were firery and crispy, however the sides were kinda small portioned , and the chips were not as crispy as the wings. We also ordered chicken burger which was quite ordinary, nothing too special. I would highly recommend the hot wings from this place. Price wise is ok definitely more expensive than regular fried chicken. The outdoor sitting area is lovely and added extra point for this place. overall I rate this place 4/5

Belles has been refurbished and is again serving chicken, chicken and more chicken! Your choice of chicken tenders, wings, or sandwiches. Five levels of heat to crank up. Crispy fries, mac and cheese, potato and gravy, coleslaw as sides. Plenty of sauces to choose from as well. Soft drinks are on offer as well as a range of beers, wine, cocktails and spirits. Grab a friend or two and head down to Barangaroo waterside, enjoy the water views, the redesigned venue and the food. Tasty.

I ordered the big wings with “Really Hot” sauce. They were really hot and I coming from someone who can hold heat well. Had some blue cheese sauce on the side to bring the heat down, perfect combination with tiger house brew on tap. I’d definitely come back for more and also for the other items in the menu. The atmosphere was very casual and relaxing too overseeing the Darling Harbour.

I can’t fault the service or staff. The atmosphere is great with water views. I’ve visited a few times over the years and the service and staff were welcoming and professional. The food has been average on all occasions. I thought I would give it another chance but it’s been consistently average. I’ve never walked around impressed, especially for the prices being charged.

Delicious, tender, juicy and flavoursome chicken with a range of spicy levels to suit everyone. Probably skip the tenders because in my opinion, they were kind of dry. Wings are definitely what you want and the sizes are awesome, not those tiny wingettes you get at most places. Burgers are great, as is the mash. Slaw is pretty bland though. Overall would definitely go again if I have spicy chicken cravings.

I have been going to Belles since Morgan cooked for me during the pop-up days and now this place is a Barangaroo institution, and the quality and consistency of the food and service continues to be top notch: who doesn't want to eat Southern fried chicken wings with sides and drinks with the breezes and ambience of Darling Harbor to wash it down?? Highly recommended :)

Love the spicy chicken as well as the salt-seasoned chicken here. The chicken was juicy and tender in the inside and crispy on the outside. We came here at the lunch time on weekday so it was a bit tough to find seat but the staff was helpful to find us seat while we already ordered for takeaway so it didn’t take much time for us to get our food when we got our seat. But after all we really love the food!

A great place for American hot fried chicken! Very friendly service and located by the water, this is such a great spot for lunch or for catching up! I had 2 pounds wings (about 8 pieces of wings) with a side of fries, and the ‘Hot’ sauce definitely had a good kick to it. As I am a spicy lover, I’d definitely try the other hotter sauces next time. They also have the QR code order from the tables too, making it convenient when dining with friends & workmates.

Terrible experience. I and my colleagues decided to have lunch at Belles today (Thursday 14th December) at 12.45pm. After we all placed our orders, one of my colleagues did not receive her order - despite everyone else at the table receiving their orders. She had to ask multiple times for her order, and eventually after 45 minutes she received it. Not a good experience, and our workplace won’t be back.

The chicken is moist and not oily. Lots of reviews saying this place is expensive and I don’t agree because you’re getting nice bits of chicken without lots of fatty skin or thick batter, which I appreciate. Seasonings are super spicy as expected but that’s what makes it exciting to eat. We have a good heat tolerance, and tried the traveller and hot - would probably stick with the traveller next time (but don’t regret trying the hot). The macaroni and cheese, and cardamom lemonade are blissful

  • Kto Znayet

Pretty much does what it says on the box - a good way to sample some VERY hot, read spicy chicken with multiple grades. Fun for groups but be careful as their hot is REALLY hot. We went third from top and we were just OK and we're chili people. Otherwise, we're talking lots of fried stuff, chips were a little over done and too crispy, Buffalo sandwich was too wet and outdoor in winter is bracing. But, worth a go for the right group.

Amazing fried chicken! My friend and I ordered a really hot chicken drumsticks (3 pieces) with chips and a hot chicken tenders (4 pieces) with beans. The beans weren't great but the chips were good. The chicken was amazing though but the portions were little small hence the minus 1 star. They should provide a larger side and keep the chicken the same amount. The seating is outdoor and can be windy. The spiciness was perfect and the chicken was crispy definitely recommend!

We got the limitless wings and drinks for $65 per person for 90 mins. The food came out quickly and was pretty good. However we were left 20 minutes waiting for our drinks half way through and furthermore got charged for another drink eventhough we had everything within the 90 mins. I was too mad to even complain as I’ve quiet a bad temper.

Whether it's eat in or takeaway - the chicken sandwiches here are delish. My usual is the spicy chicken sandwich. My go to spot at Bangers - can't go wrong. The chicken is halal too (last I checked). The place is still open (they just recently had Reno's done) Also one of my favourite places to bring people to as well during lunch in the city.

As someone from the South (southeast USA) I can say this is not Nashville hot chicken, but a somewhat decent attempt. The chicken itself isn’t seasoned, all the seasoning is on the breading. The chicken was pretty greasy which made it hard to eat. If I didn’t know what hot chicken was supposed to taste like I guess this was be good. But to charge for condiments is absurd.

Fantastic!!! Belles Hot Chicken was the best! Being from America our fried chicken is quite awesome but Belles chicken sandwich was on point and the best I have ever had. Although the medium sauce wasn't hot at all( and I couldn't upgrade to the "hot" sauce) but the chicken was crispy and juice with the right amount of lettuce, cheese and burger sauce! If you come before 3 you can get the lunch special but after 3 is happy so still win win!

Great food and prices are ok if you take into account that you probably pay a lot for the location, but service was a big disappointment! I really don't expect fireworks, but all the way through and all the three staff members we interacted with, we only got the feeling we bother them by being there. If I really crave chicken I would come back for takeaway, but otherwise will rather check one of the many other options around

Pretty good place. Right Infront of the water, nice view. Highly recommend the chicken wings, pretty big and was crunchy and really tasty, well seasoned. The mac and cheese was ok, not the best. Came out warm but got cold quickly, not really worth the extra $. Good place if you want a quick bite for lunch or dinner. Location was also a bonus, close to the station and other bars.

Really nice fried chicken, and the burgers are good too. Good location right by the water, but little protection when it gets windy (which unfortunately was the case the day that I visited). Nice sauce, and they also have beers on tap, which is a nice combination with fried chicken. The burgers are quite nice, but the mac and cheese side is not worth it, bland and boring

  • Jeffrey Li

Pricey, but worth trying. I have decent spice tolerance and found "hot" to be a great level on their wings for 'kick' without compromising on 'flavour'. Interestingly, the chips were very well seasoned but not salty which I didn't mind at all. Either way, keen on coming back with more friends to try their different spice levels despite the pricey nature of the beast.

Really enjoyed the tenders and chicken ribs. The chicken wings were on the bland side - we ordered them as "medium" heat. Just lacked flavour. Waiting in the queue took roughly 10-15 mins. Waiting for the food (for take-away) another 10 mins, which isn't too bad. However we had to go back because they had forgotten to include the two sauces we also ordered.

The perfect location... Decent chicken. I had their signature chicken burger and, while it was tasty, it didn't blow me away. Small in size and slightly overpriced, you pay for the location. It was served cheaply and didn't visually pop when presented. Eating in Darling Harbour I expected a little more. Should have gone next door for a Japanese burger!

Has been on my list of go to's for a while but I don't regularly come to the city. Let's just say that it lived up to expectations and didn't fail to excite the tastebuds. We tried both the chicken and mushroom sandwiches with their home made lemonade. Everything tasted great and we will definitely be coming back in the not too distant future.

Baller bucket of fried chicken! Good sides, chips and dips. Drinks were really good too, bourbon ice tea was perfect to soothe the fire from the spicy wings. Had the chicken burger and fries. Chicken was nicely flavoured with the right amount of spice. The crinkle cut fries were perfectly seasoned also and were still super crunchy after trekking it in the rain back to work a block or two away. Service was pretty good also. Very friendly and welcoming.

Slightly pricey but good. We had some wings and the spicy chicken sandwich and fries. We opt for the hot spicy level and it was really hot. Not sure if they made a mistake but it was really spicy. The traveller spice level was the best in my opinion. Would love to have it again!

Those chicken sandos were unreal and Pas looked after us well! Would recc the mac & cheese and Arnold Palmer drink. Chicken was a bit salty for me personally but overall, the place was a vibe.

Nice fried chicken - similar style to KFC. The sides are quite cool offering chips, coleslaw, pickles, mac and cheese. Great to have as a take away and sit by the harbour on a nice day - which is literally a few steps away (and only a short walk from Wynyard station).

Sandwich delicious. The spice levels are no joke. Wouldn’t recommend the wings above really spicy level as it’s a lot of chilli powder

Sadly came in only to get drinks and leave for another place but the guy serving us really helpful and seems to enjoy his job. Drinks were alright. May come back to try the chicken though.

Man... that hot chicken is so good. I mean, could-eat-all-day kind of good. And to top it off, they have natural wines by the glass that differ from store to store, which also adds another element to look forward to for the next visit. Well done guys... Well done!

Awesome food. I tried chicken sandwich with coleslaw on the sides. The chicken was really flavoursome and fried to perfection. Blue cheese sauce on top of this adds to the flavour. Cardamom lemonade was good. Consistent food quality. I highly recommend this place.

You cannot go wrong with Belle's, the chicken are juicy every single time I go. Been a loyal customer ever since it was opened, never disappoints. Highly recommend the sandwich (although the name's misleading, it's def a burger with a top notch brioche bun)

Stefano was really relaxed yet professional. If only more younger people emulated his example and were curious too! Great chicken sandwich! The recommended “orange” wine was a great compliment to the fried chicken. Also hard to skip the mac n cheese - Yum!

Great fried chicken. Normally prefer Korean fried chicken but this is very tasty in its own way. I prefer a mix of medium and hot chicken dunked in their awesome blue cheese sauce with fries or coleslaw. Mac and cheese is a bit bland unfortunately.

If you love fried chicken then this is a must visit. Really nice staff, good food, highly recommend. Get the buffalo chicken sandwich, if you like spice. The Bells Draft beer is a nice drop as well.

Belles Hot Chicken in Barangaroo brings the heat to the Sydney food scene with its fiery and flavorful offerings. The casual yet vibrant atmosphere complements the bold and spicy nature of their famous hot chicken. The menu is a celebration

After hearing legends about this place, I decided to try out their famous hot chicken while waiting for a friend. Ordered the really hot chicken wings which is one of their specialties. I was not dissapointed as the chicken was crunchy and

Belles serves unpretentious, tasty, southern fried chicken with yummy, high quality sides. We’ve found the quality of the food to be pretty consistent and we are fairly regular patrons.

Ordered cauliflower bites with Ranch sauce today(21/06/2023) around 12:55PM, which totally went to bin as they tasted total disgusting with too much salt & moist, no where near to the picture they have put up on their website.

Similar to A chicken place in Auckland and just as nice. The hot was spicy and the really hot was a little too hot. Chips were amazing, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Mac and cheese was great too! Well worth it.

Amazing customer service, food was amazing. The chicken is actually spicy. The staff helped my friend out while she was suffering from the spice.

Good fried chicken and a very good price. Everything came out quickly and tasty. Standout being the chicken tenders and the coleslaw. 4 Pines beer was our drinking choice and it went down nicely for a Friday night.

Popular southern style fried chicken always have a line at the ordering counter. Very succulent fried chicken at your choice of spicy level and good chouce of sides. My favourite is the mixed pickled vegetables.

  • Joann B

Really good, classic Southern fried chicken. If you're fortunate to find yourself there on a weekend during lunch time, order their Chicken and Waffles! One of the few places in Sydney that actually makes them!

  • Vicky

The staff were lovely and it had a nice view. The chicken burger was very tasty, however the mac and three cheese side was not quite as cheese flavoured as I would have liked and tasted fairly plain. More

Chicken is well fried, tender and juicy inside and crispy outside. But the flavour wasn't tasty but quite salty. Serving's also too big, could offer a smaller version. Chips and coleslaw is good.

  • Warisha Sohail

i love this Place but tbh it be up and down service man, like one time i will have food that is beyond heaven and other times it will dry and not worth it like why? More

  • Tony Bones

Great tasting southern style chicken and delicious crinkle cut fries. Great views from the tables but watch out for the pesky seagulls looking for a sneaky peck! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • adrian lim

Friendly service, classic spicy chicken well fried, always consistent with a good kick, and a nice variety of drinks, nicely presented too.

  • Mrs. Sprinkles

Best chicken spice ever! Mac and cheese can be very hit and miss- overcooked and flavor can taste weird, but cant go wrong with the wings!

  • Boosh (The Boosher)

I've had loads of people tell me to try and review Belles chicken that I thought it was time to see what all the hype was about.

  • The Crew

Great Southern food at a great prices, always on point with super friendly staff to match
