Poor Customer Service. Personally Attacked Customer. Blames Customer For Their Own Shortcomings. Several Mixups. Overview... Had 2 jacket zippers fixed. They fixed 1st without issue. 2nd jacket had to be returned as it broke again within the week. Lots of communication errors and when I went to pick up the jacket that needed the 2nd repair it wasnt ready 24 hours hours after the time they said it would be ready. Did not recieve a call to be notified. Staff were extremely rude and blameful and said many innapropriate things. See below for details. Lack of communication: Recieved several calls regarding the 2nd jacket. Stated they couldnt fix it... Then stating they could... The husband and wife both kept giving me conflicting information regarding the progress of the jacket. Unprofessionalism: When picking up my jackets the husband complained to me about all his bad google reviews and how people just complain about nothing. How stupid people are... Etc. Made for an akward conversation. Personal attacks: I will say they were kind enough to fix a rip in a seam that i had overlooked free of charge (I'm on maternity leave with my first child and thought to save a few dollars and just sew it myself afterwards.. I also explained that to them). The wife later used this as ammunition against me saying.., "yeah well you couldnt even afford it.. We did YOU a favor" when I asked for a partial refund for the fuss and lack of customer service. Felt very hurt by this comment. I never asked them to fix to tear! Her comment absolutely took me back and was completely innapropriate and felt like a very personal attack!!!! Dismissive: When returning the jacket to be repaired again I asked to confirm if the repair is free of charge as her husband had stated (he said 1 year free repairs if it breaks again)... She looked at my and said depends... Asked how she was going to fix this situation when I came in and the 2nd jacket wasnt ready... She looked at me and shrugged her shoulders several times in a very rude way. Blaming the customer for their errors: Tried to inadvertently blame me for their communication errors and reasons why the jacket wasnt ready. ... I wouldn't be nearly as frustrated with my experience if they had just called and told me in advance it wouldn't be ready on time, apologized for the inconvenience and took accountability in a professionaI manner. I can completely overlook a delay if staff are courteous and just communicate. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS LOCATION.

I intended to use this business for tailoring and embroidery. I phoned several days before hand to see if i needed an appointment and to confirm they do embroidery. They told me I do not need an appointment and that they do have someone that they use for embroidery so they would take my items and send them out to be done. when i got there two days later the lady informed me that they do not have anyone doing embroidery. she took my garment that needed to be fitted a few sizes larger and said she will have the tailor see what can be done. a few days later i received a call saying that they cant do anything for me. i came to get my item back and gave her the tag and she said my item isnt ready until monday, to which i told her about the voicemail i received. she pondered a while and then had remembered that she was the one who had called me. I did not actually get anything done here so maybe the work is good, but the customer service is definitely not.

EDIT: We did speak with the owner of the store who apologized on behalf of his mother for the misunderstanding. Although I do feel she handled the situation poorly I appreciated speaking with the owner and getting proper customer service. My boyfriend and I dropped off an item that needed to be tailored. Shortly after picking it up, we received a call from the woman working who was yelling & arguing over the phone because we didn’t pay. We had the receipt in our hand and after telling her multiple times we payed she yelled “well my son is looking into it” she informed us she will call us back after he looks into it and she never did, I’m assuming she found the transaction. Very unprofessional and will not be bringing our business to this establishment in the future.

Dropped off 2 pairs of pants to be tailored. Called yesterday and asked about picking them up, the guy told me they would be open Remembrance Day from 12 - 5 so I said ok I’ll get them tomorrow then. Tomorrow comes and they are closed. These pants were for a trip the following day and he knew it. Now I can’t get them in time for my trip and have to now find pants last minute. I’m furious !! Edit : Minutes after posting this review, they turned from zero to hero !!! They got ahold of me, opened the shop so I could get my pants, profusely apologized, and gave me my pants at no charge !! I feel they really went above and beyond on this. I would have been happy just getting my pants !! Thank You so much !! Don’t worry I’ll bring you a present back from holidays !!

I had a bumby wool sweater altered twice prior to best fit. Both places did a horrible job and the sweater was so uncomfortable that I couldn't wear it from of the work they had done. With the professional work done at best fit its a perfect fit now. I am a very happy customer from Start to finish with my experience going here. Excellent work and very friendly manager And the price was cheaper. The name of this business truely does say it all. Thought i had before pics but i only have the after. The older woman was arguing with a customer ahead of me about pricing. Should have been my first red flag. Took my work pants in to get a small tear fixed, and while they did technically do the job I had to go back twice because they weren't ready by the time that was specified. Apparently they don't even do the tailoring in store, they had taken my pants and a bunch of other clothing from other people home to have their daughter(?) fix them there. Seems kind of weird, what if they have pets and people who bring their clothes in have pet allergies or something. Anyway, I drive to my usual tailor in St. Albert now and won't be back here.

I've used this family owned company (50th st) for a long time now and they've done alterations on all of my special needs daughter clothing. I lost my wife couple years ago and alterations is just something I can't learn to do. This is a company that really does put the clients needs first and there work from dry cleaning to alterations is just incredible. Clothing is so expensive these days but I would always trust any and all clothing with these people. With the cold snap that was coming I knew I had to get my torn wi tee jacket repaired quickly. Having just moved to the neighbourhood it was the first place I went. They had it back to me the next day and you could t even tell it had been torn. This was no small tear either it was from pocket to armpit. This was my only winter jacket and because of their fast and friendly service I'm now able to not worry about being warm enough. I'm definitely telling all my friends and family to go to this lovely family run business!! Support local business!! ❤️❤️❤️

Had my leather vest repaired and re lined. A year ago. The vest has been worn daily since purchased. was a bit of a job fixing the pockets, the liner and such, as I wear it like armor. I work in it, weld in it, fish in it, drink beer in it, everything but shower and sleep in it. A year later, proved the quality of the work done. The Old Man is a wizard. The Repairs done, have outlasted the original, the liner is near flawless and the stitching is still perfect. highly recommend for leather repairs and alterations.

5/5 Star - Correction: The owner promptly called me the same day and apologies for the misunderstanding and have refunded the difference. The owner was really professional and I'm happy we worked it out =) 1/5 Star - Not impressed. Took in 3 towels and curtains to get hemmed. The original receipt was $65 which is reasonable. Once I went to pick it up the woman said they didnt charge me correctly and my bill came out to $85. That's outrageous since there was no special hem trim. I won't be going back.

They replaced a zipper for me, pictures show the old poor quality zipper and the new one they put on. I had realized I forgot to give them instructions but they did everything perfectly including providing a new zipper and sewing it on with very good quality. It looks better than from the store! The staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable. Keep in mind they don't call you when it's done, just go in the store when your receipt says it'll be done.

My family has spent hundreds of dollars here over the years and never had an issue. The one time a shirt I had them fix got ruined I took it in and asked if it was possible to get a refund ($17). I did not even ask for the cost back of the shirt. The owner (older lady) got upset with me and I was given the money and told to never come back to the store again. This is the most horrible customer service I have ever seen and very unprofessional.

Did not even steam my dress and tried to charge me full price, using illogical excuses as to why I had to pay the full amount. I ended up having to steam my own dress in the end. They requested I do that as a resolution to my dress still being wrinkled when I went to pick it up (picture taken in store). Why would I take a dress in to get steamed only to pay to be told to do it myself? Worst customer service.

My name is Josh and I have been coming here since it opened a couple years ago. The owners are very friendly and accommodating, reliable and trust worthy. Often I am down to the wire with dry cleaning and need it done fast. Not to worry they will get it done in 24 hours or less and several times have made special trips for pick up. Highly recommend and appreciate the great service here!

Price was excellent and they were fast as well. Was in a panick because my winter coat zipper busted and it was around the time as it was beyond cold. They put a rush on it knowing I needed it right away due to the weather. I will be coming back here for sure if I ever need anything else done in the future and have already told friends to go here.

The mom of this shop helped my daughter love her wedding dress. My daughter had alterations done at a different shop and they wrecked it by putting seams in the wrong spot. Price was cheap but so was the quality unfortunately. I was just getting a dress hemmed this past winter with just a straight edge no sewing needed and I didn’t notice until the day of the party that the cut was the most uneven thing I’ve ever seen at a tailor. If they can’t do that I won’t trust them with more.

I brought these guys a challenging 5 layer nomex firesuit for alterations. It was too big in the legs, they were able to make it fit properly. Price was great and service was even better! You guys have my business as long as your open sign is on :) Thank you!

My top place to go for dry cleaning & tailoring! Been going for years and have always received quick, reliable service. Recently, I had the cuffs on my favourite blazer fixed after lots of wear and now it is like the blazer is brand new! Highly recommend.

I’m working on a spider man suit and before I could do any detailing, the zipper broke. I took the suit here and they got it done in a day + they specially got a red zipper like I asked. Everyone there is very kind and this is a very reliable business!

Been using this place for a while, for suits, uniform repairs, broken zippers. Just recently had a hockey jersey done that definitely had a few Rexall party stains on it, and it came back looking like new! Very friendly, and fast, highly recommend.

I had 9 business work shirts altered in the sleeves. All of the alterations were complete professionally and exactly what I had expected. Would definately recommend this tailor shop. Will return in the future for any of my family's alterations.
