My recent stay at this hotel surpassed my expectations. I was upgraded at no cost to a king sized bed within a suite with a full kitchen. It was the most quiet hotel I may have yet stayed at; very easy to sleep at night. Very safe area and easy to walk around to many great places to eat and public transit. The free breakfast was typical for a hotel with everything you could want - waffles, eggs/sausage, breads, juices, coffee, tea, water bottles etc. The staff were all professional and helpful. I took a walk to the Christmas market at Wrigley Field - it was an easy walk, maybe 15 minutes at most - very pretty market and enjoyable for an hour or so visit. I would not hesitate to stay at this clean and quiet hotel again and plan to return when I next visit Chicago.

Really loved the room - wood floors, ceiling fan, beautiful bathroom with bathrobes, hair dryer, lots of towels, very pleasant soap, shampoo/conditioner products. Very quiet.
Nearby activities
Restaurants, coffee, Wrigley Field, train station. Christmas market. Target, Walgreens.
Safety
I felt very safe in the area of this hotel (Middle age woman traveled alone) and was out walking early morning and after dark visiting family who live nearby.
Walkability
Very easy to get around with plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and easy access to transportation.
Food & drinks
Hotel breakfast was typical for a hotel and well done; very clean and enjoyable, everything someone could want was available. The hotel is located in walking distance of amazing restaurants - and I am vegan - the Chicago Diner is super close and wow - amazing!!!

I had a great stay this past weekend. Pros: Great location, room was clean, bathroom/shower were great, no carpeting in room (yay). Laminate flooring, but it looked and felt like hardwood. Plenty of outlets and lights and great mirror in bathroom and a large one in the room. Fairly quiet until the rooms nearby slammed their doors (inconsiderate guests). Comfy bed (a bit soft for me, but fine). I thought the included breakfast was decent and was a bit different each day, but always the option to make your own waffle as well as the cinnamon rolls from Ann Sather's. Plenty of options: hard boiled eggs, English muffins, toast, fruit, cereal, oatmeal, juices, coffee, tea, a rotating entree (like eggs/sausage, or eggs/bacon or today was French Toast.) Yogurt from a machine, which I was skeptical about, but it was great. Bottled water. Coffee/Tea any time. So easy to start your day. Great housekeeping staff (though they don't make up your room each day, which is fine). Front desk staff was mostly friendly. Cons: lobby is a few steps down (didn't seem wheelchair accessible, but they have another building next door which might be/seemed to be). Things I read in previous reviews: musty odor. There was none. The hallways just smelled clean (although the carpet had a stain or two). Rats in garden (I didn't see any). I would definitely return. No, it's not a 5 star hotel, but doesn't cost as much either. It was more than fine for my needs.

This was a great little find about 15 mins from the centre of town with a carpark to the side, it's not huge so check availability. It's a bonus being on a side street as you don't get the traffic noise, however one side of the hotel is built next to another building so you don't get a room with a view the other side looks out over the parking. The hotel is an old building tucked away on a side street with lots of eating places close. The reception areas is quite small with a seating area to the side that doubles up in the morning for somewhere to sit to eat the self service food. The breakfast is grab what you want from the cereals yogurts cakes pastries fruit and various drinks. It has a small frontage with tables which would be nice in warmer months. The rooms are typical best western with normal features and complimentary toiletries and free bottled water. (I am finding more hotels are charging for water!) The room also had a microwave as well as a small fridge.

Stayed here about a month ago. Excellent experience. The details... microwave and fridge in room. Hardwood floors. Room clean. Plenty of towels. Make sure to confirm housekeeping. Something about they not doing it, but I was only there two nights, so I wasn't expecting it anyway. Holiday lights on the courtyard are a nice touch. Parking is next door, but not free. Charge was not mentioned at check-in but was reasonable for the area. Pet friendly, with treats and water bowls for pets. Staff friendly and attention e. Spoke with I think Maryann after coming in late at night for about 20 mins. She and I were both former residents of the area. Nice to catch up. Need to be buzzed in late at night. Nice security measure. Walking distance to lakefront. Has become the pet friendly hotel of choice for me as I have to drive to Chicago fairly often.

The rooms are not carpeted and the windows are louvered which is very good for people with allergies. Everything is kept clean by an excellent housekeeping staff. The front desk staff are welcomeing, cheerful and helpful with directions and recommendations. Breakfast is good. Late night tea and coffee available. The location on Broadway is excellent with great restaurants, and close to Lincoln Park for a walk in a bird sanctuary or over to the lake. There's a great candy shop a short walk away too.Bus stops for routes 36 and 151 close by.

Cute hotel nestled into a residential neighborhood with great restaurants and shops, and event Venues, within walking distance or short Uber ride away. Our King bed was surprisingly and amazing comfortable! Best hotel bed l’ve experienced in a while. Good job BW. The gym/hot tub sauna area was well kept and wonderful. Hotel was very clean. Service was great as well. Our one and only small complaint would be that our heater just kept running, it would kick in every 5 minutes but seemed to heat up just fine just seemed to run excessively for no reason, it was not that cold outside, and it was really loud. Luckily we were very tired, so it didn’t interrupt our sleep. I recommend and will stay again.

2nd stay here and this is NOT your standard highway exit Best Western, this is much more. Very clean, cute entryway with outdoor seating, polite and knowledgeable staff. Two double bed suite was roomy and comfortable. Open shower concept with water flowing from way above my head (6'3"). Breakfast kitchen is small, but the food good. Kind of surprised to see french toast, which was very good. Coffee, water, juice, eggs, yogurt, oatmeal, waffle maker, bagels, cereal and a good supply of fruit. Something for everyone. Parking in a large, convenient lot right next to hotel for $25/night.

This is a great location. Overall, it's a clean facility. I was disappointed by the accommodations (Room 201) and staff. 1. Front desk was not friendly or welcoming on arrival. 2. Heater in my room wasn't working. A guy came and was able to get it working, but it had stopped again after I went to dinner. The controller on the wall seemed to be defective. 3. NOISE. I could hear housekeeping clean the room next door, and it sounded like people were moving furniture above me. There was a LOT of street noise as well. They need new windows. 4. The tub was called a spa bath in the room descriptive. There was nothing spa-like about it. 5. Towels were not soft at all. 7. The king bed was not comfortable.

I had an emergency and needed a room because my plane was delayed and did not land in Chicago until after 1am and the staff at Best Western Plus were MORE than accommodating when so many other places I contacted could not seem to figure out how to book a room after midnight. Maryanne at the front desk was extremely helpful and competent and set me up in an adorable room without issue. It was December and I could not figure out the thermostat, but their maintenance staff came immediately to remedy the situation. The area is filled with bars and restaurants and so much to do even at 2am, which was important because I really needed a cocktail after my long day of traveling. I will DEFINITELY be back again!!! 100 STARS!!! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a great choice for our short holiday visit to see my daughter. We were hesitant at first and didn’t know what to expect. Our suite was like a small boutique apartment. Our teenage son enjoyed having his own space and kings size bed. Both beds were sooo comfortable and the bathroom, kitchenette, and living room area were just perfect space and roomy for us even when my daughter and boyfriend visited. Parking was convenient right next to the building. Area was nice and safe with access to restaurants and bars. Would definitely recommend

The room was beautiful with hardwood throughout. The hotel is pet friendly which was the reason I booked. The only downside of this hotel is that there is very limited area for your pet to go potty outside. Breakfast area was small, but they had all the basic breakfast items. Free, complimentary waters in the room. I had no complaints.

A small, older hotel in a wonderful location. In fact, the location is the best part of the hotel. The neighborhood is quaint, very walkable, with lots of restaurants and shops. The hotel is old, but they’ve kept it up pretty well. For me the biggest downside was how loud it was at night because of thin walls, and squeaking floors from above. I swear the person above my room sounded like they weighed 500 lbs and were wearing concrete blocks. I’m sure all they were doing was walking normal, but because of the old floors, it kept me up each night. However, it’s still safe and clean…just not quiet.

Such a great neighborhood and cool building to stay in! Our room had tons of windows and plenty of light. The bed was big and the room was plenty spacious, plus we had a couch, sitting chair, desk, and large bathroom counter top. It was a perfect base for exploring Lakeview on foot.

Our upgraded room had a jacuzzi shower, very old, and hard to get in and out of. My husband couldn't sleep due to a beeping noise in the room. We usually love the motel and will return.

Older facilities. Nicely maintained. A few flaws, the lighted bathroom mirror had a large crack at the bottom right side, and the widow overlooking the parking lot had a large crack also. The continental breakfast was adequate, the usual staples, BUT the cinnamon rolls are scrumptious! Nicely located, easy Uber access. Sorry, I forgot to take pictures of the room..oh and there was an Echo speaker in the room!

So close to my son's apartment! We did have some issues with our room. The hotel was lovely and staff was accommodating. We just had a lemon of a room. Toilet would not stop backing up and the furnace was annoying. They kindly upgraded us the next morning immediately.

We wanted to stay close to the gay bars in Chicago so we chose to stay here due to the proximity. The check-in process was so smooth and the room was spacious and clean. Only piece of feedback was the halls and elevator smelled like someone sprayed a ton of air freshener throughout and it was a little overwhelming at times.
