I came here after visiting another one of Ai Weiwei's exhibits and was told that he had another installation piece at The Laguna Gloria. It is hilarious because as we are driving to this place, my wife and I are having de ja vu, because the last time we visited Austin we happened to visit the peacocks and it's literally on the same road. We should have just visited it last time if we knew about it. The space is pretty big and it's cheap 3 for students and 5 for adults. Even though there is a lot of ground to cover, the exhibits are not well spaced apart. It's really far from one another and the map is kind of confusing. The Iron Tree Trunk by Ai Weiwei was one of the better pieces, buy my favorite was the giant statue out front by Tom Friedman. It's nothing you HAVE to do, but if you have some extra time worth a short afternoon.

We went to La Guna Gloria when it was free museum day and reserved a time slot in advance. My two girls and I loved it. They had a few exotic birds and kids activities. They also provided lemonade and topo chico which was nice because it was a hot day. We enjoyed walking around the grounds and looking at all of the sculptures. They also have a stand where you can buy some food, popsicles and drinks.

Really cool place. I’m not too into art but it was interesting, pretty, and a nice walk. I recommend checking it out, since it’s pretty worth it at only 5 dollars per person. Good explanations written on each of the sculptures. It was pretty hot but that’s just Texas weather. I’d probably try to go sometime in the Fall if possible but cool nonetheless.

We had a lovely visit and got some great photos. It's 4 stars as there weren't any ramps near the steps in different locations for a toddler's stroller and the map didn't really work as there was lack of signage. Despite this, it was well worth the trip and the tickets are reasonably priced.

This is such an amazing place! My boyfriend and I made sure to visit when we made our trip to Austin. The path is very clear and easy to follow. The sculptures are not only beautiful, but the descriptions also provide a detailed background on the work and artist. I would recommend coming on a cooler day since it is outside!

We went there on a sunny Sunday morning and really enjoyed walking around this beautiful place, even the kids had fun trying to find all the sculptures, (Only negative was the lack of recycling bins near the Cafe, using biodegradable boxes is great but throwing them in a plastic bin liner doesn't make much sense... )

So beautiful and relaxing! Great way to enjoy the afternoon. Bring the family and a picnic if the weather is nice. The sculptures are so varied and interesting. Very peaceful setting with the lake in the background.

Had a lot of fun here. The views of the lake are great. The art here is very interesting and spread out so it felt like walking around a large park or reserve which was a lot of fun. The main building was beautiful as well. I highly recommend this place for some cool art and a great atmosphere.

Takes the saying "A walk in the park" to a whole new level! A beautiful 100 year old Villa, surrounded by beautiful scenery and works of contemporary sculptures, no two sculptures ever being the same. Although it's kind of far from everything else in Austin, it's truly worth a visit!

This was just a beautiful and brilliant sculpture garden. My whole family enjoyed it. My son's were using the map as a treasure hunting adventure through the garden. This place is perfect for taking photos of all kinds. It is not expensive to get in but it does have an admission fee.

After visiting The Contemporary Austin, we were told our admissions also included admission Laguna Gloria. There are a few really interesting sculptures - and a few that looked like they could have been designed by a 3 year old. The location is right on the Colorado River.

What a treasure! The the art is varied: some make you laugh and others make you think. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The setting is gorgeous. Lots of trees and foliage along the river. It is truly picturesque and a wonderful place to see sculpture.

So beautiful and peaceful. The sculptures are stunning. It's a great place to bring visitors. Gets everybody out of the house and walking around...and brings everyone a little closer to nature and art. What could be better!

I am really not into sculpture as compared to other artistic mediums but a lot of these pieces are impressive. Even without the sculptures, the garden and walking path is very nice and right next to the water.

  • David Nevill Jr

I enjoyed my walk around, and was basically by myself which was very soothing. While some of the pieces didn't really speak to me on any level, the walk is easy and the waterfront location is hard to beat!

We almost miss the opportunity to visit this exposition and it would have been a mistake! It’s a great art work, you will need some time to know the place in deep.. it’s a must in Austin, we just loved it

Free admission for military! It was a nice short walk to see some lovely artwork. The pathway is kept clean, but is still a rustic path.
