After a Lot Of research and Consulting Many Implant surgeons , Someone recommended Amit at Birmingham Dental Specialist . I had Had two Other Consultations with other Implant surgeons and all they wanted to do was take all my teeth out and replace them with implants plus they didnt make me feel very reassured This wasnt one or two teeth nor a small amount of money i was going to spend . I just didnt feel right what they were telling me until i had my first consultation with Amit . Straight away he was Like no no no so i had my Scan and yes i did need a lot replacing top and Bottom My mouth was In a right state but Amit assured me that most off them could be saved with Crowns and Vinears . So Three yrs ago I took the Plunge and all I can Say Is I can smile again and it has Litterlery changed my Life , i can eat steak again and Biscuits and Crisps lol . The First part off having The top implants placed In was probably the worst part as I had to have Bone Graft and a Sinus Lift plus a lip Lift and 5 Implants Placed . I really didnt know What To expect But Amit is Absolutely Brilliant , and talked me through the Whole Procedure . Yes After The Top implants were placed you i got Lot of Swelling and i mean a Lot But there Was No pain just uncomfortable but he did explain this too me , I must admit i couldnt leave the house for a few days cuz the way i looked , Cuz it was Scary lol But i can Honestly say There Was No pain the day after The surgery . The only pain i had was from the amount of injections i had during the procedure which made the rough of my mouth sore . Then the Rest of the procedure to put in the Imbudants and the Teeth Were Fairly straight Forward . Then On the Bottom i have had a few implants on one side Then Just One on The Other , The Bottoms were a Walk in The park compared To the Swelling On the Top . Then His partner Phill Did the Crowns And vinears on My other Teeth . The whole Procedure has Taken Two and Half Yrs and Yes It wasnt Cheap But what you are paying For Is Amit . He is Proberly One Of the Best Implant surgeons in The Country which he doesnt like to say . But he is not Just an Implant surgeon He Flys Round the World Giving Seminars To other Surgeons and also Lectures . I was referred to Amit by my local dentist after the periodontal disease in my gums was becoming acute. I could have waited to be seen through the NHS but I considered that I need treatment as soon as possible. After my first visit I came away with a confident feeling that Amit was the correct choice. He explained the issues, what was causing the problem and a proposed course of treatment to tackle the problem. Amit began by giving me some quite severe de-scaling and cleaning of my teeth, this obviously led to a degree of soreness but that soon eased. He also advised me more thoroughly on the best ways to keep my teeth and gums cleaned. I began to notice some immediate improvements, less bleeding and tightening of the gums. "Pocket testing" showed some improvement but not really enough to satisfy Amit's professional standards so I underwent an even more intensive de-scaling, which took about 4 hours under local anesthetic. This was obviously a little more painful but I soon recovered. Since then I have had no bleeding from my gums, they are more firm and although I now suffer from some sensitivity because of gum retraction my teeth are more solid, my gums look healthy and pink. I still visit Amit annually and my local Dentist bi-annually combined with visits to the Hygienist. I have spent a considerable sum of money on this treatment but I reckon that if I had not done so I would now be losing some teeth. The cost of dentures has gone up over time and the short bouts of discomfort I had mean that the treatment has been well worth the investment and I can be confident that I'll keep my teeth much longer than I would have done. Amit and his team are always friendly and professional, the surgery is in an easy, accessible part of Birmingham within walking distance of the town centre. I would most certainly recommend Amit and Birmingham Dental Specialists.

I was referred to BDS by my own dentist a few years ago after enquiring about Mucogingival Gum grafts , as I suffer from receding gums . Initially Amit reassured me that it was not necessary to prevent tooth loss at that stage , but more recently I was very self conscious as the gums had receded further so went back to see Amit and the team . His approach to explaining the surgery involved was very comprehensive and reassuring , he did make me aware however that there would be some discomfort due to the nature of the procedure . The actual procedure lasted for about six hours , in one session , and involved taking skin from the roof of the mouth and grafting along the upper gums , held into place with stitches . Amit was reassuring at all times during the op and made sure I was comfortable . For a few days after the surgery it was quite painful , the roof of the mouth was similar to a bad pizza burn , but this was managed well with over the counter painkillers and antibiotics , which were prescribed by Amit , along with medicated mouthwash as I was unable to clean my teeth for a few weeks and also had to adapt my diet , eating soft and liquid foods only . I had done some research myself prior to undertaking the op and was not as painful as I had expected , although you do have to ensure you follow all the post procedure advice .Amit was at the end of the phone if I needed to speak to him and Andrea and Chloe were friendly and professional. It took about six weeks for the swelling and gums to settle . I am really pleased with the results considering the amount of bone I had lost and feel a lot more confident . I would advise anyone considering having this surgery to use Birmingham Dental Specialists and I will definitely use them should I require further dental procedures .

I want to give you guys a very honest review. I currently have periodontal disease at the age of 39 due to my poorly controlled diabetes. Over the years I have gained gaps and I have lost a few teeth. It came to a stage where I was told I could potentially loose 2 of my front teeth & this ofcourse set panick. I was therefore referred to BDS via my dentist. From the get go Amit was very honest on the condition on my teeth and what he believed he could save. I've never had a dentist care so much and give me hope. I was shown how to effectively brush my teeth and what size tepe brushes to use to get the bacteria out. Whilst he was demonstrating this on me, I could sense a horrid smell coming from my mouth and my gums began to bleed. (Had my dentist shown me this years ago it would have reduced the progression of the disease vastly) After my initial visit I was seen by BDS twice whereby Amit carried out a thorough and very deep pocket clean. My Gums were sensitive and sore for a few days and I had to take it light with the brushing. Today I went in for my final checkup and I could cry out of joy. Yes I lost some back teeth to stop the progression of the disease but all my remaining teeth are in very good condition. My gums have receded slightly however this is because the pockets have shrunk and tightened after the treatment. This is an effective way to reduce build up of plaque and bacteria. The brushing advice he gave has had a phenomenal impact on the health of my gums and teeth. I cant thank the whole team enough for making me feel so comfortable and reassured. BDS review I was referred to BDS initially for an extract of a loose front tooth with an infection into the jaw bone which was fully removed, which I must say was painless at the time with very little after. I ask about options to replace the front tooth and two back teeth Mr Patel – Amit, nice guy all round, listed out clear detailed option plans with cost of the individual items, covering what if’s such as my jaw infection if it did not fully heal. On or by my next visit I chose my option plan and set to work taking x-rays to establish how my jaw had healed. At all times prior to and as work commenced I was kept fully informed of what where why and when, installing the studs into the jaw some various levels of pain, was experienced which was explained that some zones don’t numb down the same as other areas do which was over in a couple of minutes, studs set in sown up issued with painkiller and antibiotic. Amit reviewed my option plane and removed some of the what if’s etc reducing my cost and gave me his Mobile number to call him at any time if any complications arose, whit that I went back to work. Amit phoned me later to see how I was. I made a joke of it (saying in a slurred voice now that the injections had worn off my tongue had been sown to the gum) Ha not really got you. From there on it was plane sailing with the rest, taking moulds, test fitting and installation. After losing a few teeth due to previous dental work from what I call a butcher, I was recommend Amit from a good family friend. When I first arrived at the surgery I was nervous beyond belief and also embarrassed by my situation. Andrea made me feel very welcome and at ease on my arrival. Amit was non judgemental with my situation and talked me through the procedure that would take place, Chloe was reassuring me throughout my consultation as she could see how nervous I was. My appointments were made in advance and I was sent a breakdown of what was going to be happening on each visit. The implants appointment was not the most pleasant, 5.5 hours in the dental chair was certainly not my idea of fun, but the whole time Amit was caring and reassuring and Chloe was sympathetic, even though I may have squeezed her hand a bit hard a few times. I had 8 dental implants at once, which was not pleasant st all, then to be told I had to eat soft foods for 3 months, which fell over Christmas , but I managed it and it was most definitely worth it. So here we are 5 months later and I have the most beautiful set of teeth again, my confidence is back, I cannot stop smiling and most of all I can eat normally again. I was referred to BDS by a previous dentist, so I could get my implant sorted out properly once and for all by someone who knew what they were doing. At the consultation with Amit, he explained an extraction was required and that new implants could be placed later if I wished, this put me at ease. My first visit to BDS I was greeted by friendly staff in a relaxed reception, once in the surgery it was far superior to what I been accustom to, with High-Tec 3D ct scan imaging nothing like I had seen before, I thought this is a really professional outfit. The removal of the remaining failed inferior implant (placed by a previous dentist) was carried out simply and successfully, easy when you have the know how and correct equipment, much easier than what I had experienced with a previous dentist. I decided to have two implants to replace the removed inferior implants, Amit explained all stages from 3d ct scan imagery, through to crown, timescale and cost. At every visit I felt safe and at ease, throughout the procedure of the exact placement of the implants (no guess work needed) to fitting of the crowns. Thanks to two implants and healthy gums, eating food's enjoyable once again. If only I'd of known about BDS before I went to a previous dentist I could have saved myself a lot of time and anguish. Amit and his team have my deepest thanks.

I was referred to Amit by my implantologist because I had poor gum health. On my initial visit Amit conducted a thorough examination of my gums, explained and demonstrated good practice for cleaning and produced a treatment plan. At all times, whilst being professional, he was friendly and reassuring making me feel quite at ease. The treatment involved deep root cleaning which I opted to have in one session rather than two and which we arranged for three months after the first visit to allow the cleaning and my new technique to have effect. Amit explained what I should expect, providing a level of confidence without minimising any discomfort I might encounter. The treatment itself took a couple of hours and although a little uncomfortable was perfectly OK not least because Amit was highly professional and reassuring. I was given post treatment instructions which proved to be accurate and the initial soreness and discomfort soon wore off as predicted. I’m writing this review after my final visit to Amit where I’ve been given the all clear and I can honestly say that the improvement in my oral health has been nothing short of dramatic. I can now look forward to my implants confident in the knowledge that my gums are very healthy and that I have the techniques at my disposal to ensure that they stay that way

Having discussed with my dentist that I was interested in having an implant to replace a missing front tooth Mrs Gupta recommended Amit. I must say I can't thank her enough. I arrived and was cheerfully greeted by Andrea on reception. For my initial consultation with Amit, I had a state of the art x-ray which showed that I needed bone reconstruction. I also had the old post taken out at that appointment in preparation for the procedure. Arriving for my second appointment where this would take place I was nervous but knew I couldn't cope with a denture. Amit explained step by step in clear detail what would happen and I felt reassured and at ease with the support of his dental nurse Chloe. I can honestly say that I didn't feel any discomfort or pain during the procedure (and I thought I was a bit of a white knuckle patient)! I was given antibiotics and painkillers and advised to use ice packs. My mouth was swollen for a couple of days after but I didn't at any time feel any discomfort. As suggested I slept slightly elevated with the support of pillows which helped a lot. I now have a perfectly fitted and matching implant. If you are thinking of having implants or indeed any dental treatment you will do no better than having Amit as your consultant and his wonderful caring team.

I was referred to BDS by my NHS practice in Birmingham. About eight years previously I had had implant treatment for a front tooth at a dental practice I was then living.. The implant fractured about fours after despite the dentist "guaranteeing" to me that it would last for 20years.( a CLAIM WHICH HE SUBSEQUENTLY DENIED MAKING. ). i was left with the metal stem in-bedded in my jaw bone. The original dentist was unable to remove it and I had to wear a denture. Another specialist attempted to remove the stem but after 45 minutes of very uncomfortable surgery, he too admitted defeat. I moved to Birmingham 4 years ago and was subsequently introduced to Amit Patel at BDS, by my NHS practice, for an initial examination including xrays and MRI scans. The dentist, Amit Patel, said that he would endeavour to remove the implant with some specialist equipment which he purchased solely for my treatment. HE REMOVED THE METAL STEM WITHIN 5 MINUTES with little fuss and very little discomfort. i WOULD 100% RECOMMEND THIS DENTIST FOR SPECIALIST DENTAL IMPLANT TREATMENT. He always discusses treatment plans and alternatives, provides a clear written "Treatment Plan" & costing and after treatment telephones to check I am ok. He follows up with annual checks.

This was my first implant so i had many reservations having done a good deal of research. The choice of practitioners and difference in costs is bewildering. In this regard i was very lucky to be referred to Amit by my dentist and from start to finish his expertise and professionalism were first rate. Amit took the time to answer all of the many questions that were bothering me and the service lacked nothing. The need for a bone graft and a temporary tooth were both discussed but we decided against these options for the right reasons, which significantly reduced the final cost and i did not feel under any pressure to proceed with anything i was uncomfortable with at any stage of the process. I was due to be going out for a meal within a few days of the implant being fitted and did not want the occasion to be spoiled so considered postponing my appointment with Amit. He said that he was certain it would not cause an issue and i should trust him and go ahead as planned. He was absolutely right and really gave me the feeling that he has the patients best interests at heart. I would recommend Amit without a second thought and believe the service was not only extremely good value for money but completely painless which was an added bonus.

I was referred to Amit by my Dentist prior to starting Invisalign treatment in August 2022. My Dentist was concerned I had bone loss and he believedI was suffering from gum disease. I saw Amit for an initial consultation where he booked me in for a thorough clean of the teeth and educated me thoroughly on how to clean my teeth with my electric toothbrush. His techniques for better cleaning of my teeth and plaque removal provided me with extreme confidence on how I should treat my teeth. The initial treatment was quite brutal but Amit was very thorough in explaining exactly on what he was going to do and what to expect and put me at great ease. The results have been nothing short of amazing. My gums feel absolutely great and I am almost at the end of my treatment for Invisalign. I have had three sessions of treatment with Amit on regular 6 months intervals and I can not recommend him enough. He is a very knowledgeable person and extremely knowledgeable in the service he provided. I was conscious about not losing any of my teeth with the Invisalign treatment and would like to commend Amit with his help and expertise.

I have been very happy with the treatment and service from this surgery, After having travelled to Budapest and started the treatment for implants , a plethora of issues occurred in my circumstances ...and then Coviid19 crisis, which prevented me completing the treatment there. I was thrilled when i found Amit's surgery. The receptionist was ,pleasant, polite and very helpful at every contact and this was most appreciated. The dental assistant was amazing , showing such warmth and gentle kindness throughout each intervention. There were times i was very nervous and not the easiest patient to have!!. Amit was a star and managed the challenges of working on a job someone else had started with commitment and determination, despite the challenges. I am happy with my implants and consider the lack of comments from close family and friends to be a positve thing suggesting that they look so natural no one has twigged! It is such a joy to not have to wear dentures and I feel blessed to have found this surgery, who offered a professional and excellent standards.

So I’m not going to repeat what other’s have said, But do totally agree with other comments, very welcoming friendly people from reception to nurses and Amit him self I went to Amit for a couple of implants after being referred by my own dentist, on my first visit all was explained to me along with costings. On the Day of procedure everything went very well implants done home with meds and feet up, now unfortunately some two weeks later one of the implants got an infection ( it can happen) which caused it to fail, I was booked straight back in with Amit who sorted (removed it) straight away. So yes this did put my procedure back by 6 months, but 3 months later new implant fitted and a further 3 months on I now have fully functional teeth (implants) in place.I’m So glad I opted for implants I would recommend Amit and his team to anyone considering implants, or any other dental work, you won’t go wrong with them, professional caring and do everything possible to make you feel at ease. what more can I say I’m sure I will be back in the future .

Following a discussion with my dentist he recommended that I seek a periodontal specialist to address my ongoing gum disease and frequent bleeding. I attended Amit’s practise and the initial treatment was a deep clean and scaling procedure which was done without injection and was completely painless. But here’s the difference between the many other hygienist specialists I have been to over the years and Amit, he didn’t just say thank you very much see you in three months he showed me how to clean my teeth and gums PROPERLY. He showed me how to hold, where to position and what pressure to apply with my electric toothbrush and interdental teepees it was such a common sense approach I felt embarrassed that I have been doing it so wrong for so long. My gums are now so so much better and his advice has really improved my overall oral hygiene. I have recently completed an implant process with Amit Patel and I am very pleased with how it went and with the final result. Amit is skilful and adept. A long journey, well worth the wait. Got referred by my dentist for crown lengthening surgery and after a quick google was petrified. Not a huge fan of going to the dentist but after much thought decided it needed to be done. The whole team here are amazing and put you at ease straight away. Very welcoming and chatty making it easy to relax. During the first consultation the procedure was explained carefully and was given great advice on how to keep my gums healthy. During the surgical procedures each step was talked through with me as it was happening which helped to keep me as relaxed as I could be. Once past the initial pain Amit and co keep checking in to see that I was Ok and managing alright and offered plenty of rest bites if I needed them. After overcoming the fear, the sometimes painful procedure and long recovery, I am absolutely thrilled with how my teeth look now and my gum health has drastically improved.

I was recommended by Sherwood Dental Practice to use Birmingham Dental Specialists and I was delighted with the results he provided. Dr. Patel remained straight to the point, was extremely clear and answered any questions I had with confidence. I had to have 4 treatments altogether to fit an implant and I can say that none of the procedures left me in any real discomfort or pain. I consulted with a number of dental specialists, including BDS, when I required procedure to complete dental implant. Amit and his team at BDS demonstrated understanding of my needs, provided me the greatest surety of the level of care I would be provided, and confidence I would achieve the desired results. My treatment required bone graft to the maxillary jawline, to then enable completion of the implant. The process and timeliness of my treatment was clearly explained and reinforced at all stages – which took approximately 6 months in total. I am a nervous/anxious dental patient; while some level of discomfort is to be expected with major dental surgery, I experienced no pain and was put at ease during each treatment to prepare and then undertake dental implant. I am delighted with the results and have no hesitation in recommendation of Amit and his team at BDS.

If you have gum disease you should book an appointment now! 1. Having had chronic gum disease and for years trying a number of different techniques and tools to clean my teeth I eventually got to the point of losing teeth and being referred here. I wish I had come in a couple years earlier as after one appointment Amit showed my how to effectively clean my teeth (good news, you can do it easily, bad news it will take time) and I made significant changes to my teeth and gums within months. 2. Having to have teeth pulled is never fun, but Amit did this really well and with essentially no pain. 3. I found wearing a bridge really difficult and so, after a year, I decided to get an implant. I did look around at other options, but I am glad I went with BDS as I trust them and over ~20 years the extra cost for good service is well worth it.

I was referred to Amit by my own dentist due to the fact that I was suffering from severe gum disease and my 3 monthly scale and polishes were not improving the situation. I saw Amit for an initial consultation and he recommended two sessions of root planing to eradicate the build up of plaque below my gum line. He explained techniques for better cleaning of my teeth and plaque removal. The treatment was quite brutal but Amit explained exactly what he was going to do and what to expect and put me at ease. Absolutely horrendous experience Had an appointment with Amit Patel first of all was charged £180 for a treatment they couldn’t carry out just did a slight check up and got me to sign some forms when questioned was told they are just for price information so me thinking when has anyone asked for a signature on forms for price info so questioned it again and was told the same so came home got my family member to ring and ask he was spoken to in a rude manner by the receptionist and tried to cover up the whole thing good job my family member is a law student and they soon realised so apologised and we were assured they wouldn’t be taking any money for continuation of treatment. I had to cancel my bank card because of all this as did not trust thinking they would process payment. Be careful all

My dentist recommended me to Birmingham Dental Specialists to have some work done. Dr. Patel remained transparent throughout the entire process, explaining to me each visit what was going to happen each time and how each procedure would go so there were no surprises. I had 3 appointments all in all with Dr. Patel all of which didn’t last any longer than an hour and I am delighted with the final result. The discomfort was very minimal and there was virtually no pain. My gums no longer bleed and my teeth feel fantastic. The results following the treatment shown me that my teeth should last longer and would 100% recommend Birmingham Dental Specialists to anyone who feels like they may need any work doing. I was given Amit's details by a personal recommendation following an accident where I had managed to knock all my front teeth out. I can say I am so happy that I took that personal recommendation. The treatment I had was extensive and included a bone graft and implants. Although the treatment itself was unpleasant due to the amount I needed because my gums and bone had reseeded quite a bit, I always felt in very safe hands. Amit was also honest about the after effects of the treatment and prepared me for it. The final result is really good and has increased my confidence massively. The price point was also the same as my own dentist but for the same money you get a proper implant specialist so it is worth going to Amit for first class service at the same price.

This is a surgery of excellence, and although being rather nervous on entering for my initial assessment was warmly welcomed by the receptionist and nurse. The implant surgeon, Amit Patel, was gentle, relaxed and created an air of air of calm towards the proceedings which very quickly put me at ease. Everything was explained to me beforehand, and I was given ample opportunity to ask questions. The main procedure was less than thirty minutes and completely painless. I attended Amit`s practise expecting to be told how bad I am with my oral hygiene and to listen to a preaching about the importance of good oral care. That is not what happened. This is a very caring and friendly dental practice. Amit Patel took great care of my condition and worked really hard to improve on my dental hygiene. I had a sinus lift which was not an easy procedure followed by a dental implant. Amit’s work has been extraordinary and very reassuring in a difficult time. The Service here was excellent, and Dr Amit Patel operates in a very professional and friendly manner, ensuring that patients are at ease and treating them with respect. I required some work on my gums, which was a very tricky procedure. I was made very comfortable during the process, and could not have asked for a better service. I saw the x-rays this week of the original gums and where they are now, and the difference is astounding, such an improvement and the gum checks are now all within acceptable levels. After knocking my incisor out at a concert I was pretty gutted to be told by my previous dentist I would have to have a denture to replace the tooth. I was recommended to Amit nearly a decade ago now to have an implant put in place. My implant wasn’t so straight forward as it required bone grafts as my gum around the missing tooth had started to recede. Being like most people who don’t particularly enjoy having dental work done I was a hesitant but the whole procedure was a lot easier to go through than I was envisioning. Little over 2 years ago having lived with a denture and a broken crown as my front teeth since the age of 13, I decided it was time for implants. With extensive bone loss due to the age I sustained the injury, the course of treatment was extensive spanning around 2 years including tooth extraction, bone grafting and finally implants. I visited BDS for the first time around a year ago having not been to a dentist in a long time and my gums were not in the best shape. I've had gum issues for years and have consulted several dentists. Amit stands out due to his exceptional understanding of the problem. I had some periodontal work carried out here earlier in the year. The worst part is awaiting the first procedure - once you are in the chair the process is surprisingly quick and not a great deal more unpleasant than a deep filling or root canal work. After the fist appointment the visits are far less unpleasant. The staff here are professional and helpful. Appointments run on time and the view over the canal from the surgery is very welcome.
