**DISCLAIMER** My experience & review is based upon a recent interview for a position within the council I was more than fully qualified for & was not treated fairly. I applied for a role that I noticed vacant online, one of the conditions was to be "full vaccinated against COVID 19", I was more than qualified, had my two jabs & had the years of experience under my belt within the industries that was required. I was asked for an interview the following week & accepted. After the interview which lasted round 45-50minutes with the hiring committee Mr Lachlan Lawless, Katie Welch & Diane Boatwright. Lachlan seemed hesitant to ask if I was triple vaccinated although he did ask, I stated no I am fully vaccinated which means double. Although Lachlan seemed uneasy by asking he requested that I needed to be triple jabbed to be considered for the role as it is a requirement by the council policy. Now I have been discriminated against by my gender & my religious beliefs in the past, & I hoped that we as a society & community were past the point of divisiveness & disrespect to our fellow neighbours & members in the communities. I didn't really push back enough on the other occasions but this time I wasn't happy with getting another unnecessary experimental medication that I do not need, I am young, fit & healthy & double jabbed. I asked Lachlan to reconsider & to the hiring team to do the sensible thing & not discriminate against me due to my medical history & that I am fully qualified for the role. Lachlan than proceeded to explain that its a council requirement from People & Culture, & that if I had any questions to email them. He was hesitant to give me a name to speak to someone at that department even though I asked twice, he did not give me the email & when I looked up "People & Culture Blacktown Council" there is no such department/Division/Concept. Since I cannot contact them I had no other choice but to leave a review here. Under the The Public Health (COVID-19 Self-Isolation) (No 3) Amendment Order 2022 & the Public Health (COVID-19 General) Order (No 3) 2022 were repealed at 12.01am on 14 October 2022 under the Public Health Repeal Order 2022. This means all requirements & provisions under these Public Health Orders have been repealed. Many companies & employers have since retracted their policies regarding the COVID19 vaccination requirements as now they are no longer protected under State or Federal law. I also made this aware of Lachlan & the committee but it seems to have not taken into consideration, just like my application. I hope this is not a regular occurrence moving forward, but I know that I will now not be considered for this role due to my inquisitive state on the policy & the reactionary attitude by the hiring committee.

I have just been bullied by Blacktown Council , even after i had prior spoken to them in putting a storage container or shipping container as they put it. i lease a property in Blacktown area, have asked the Rangers prior of parking my truck in the property as the road joining it stated no truck allowed on the street. Then i asked the RMS of any legal things i need to know what i have to look for before i put the container on the property.. 6 meter away from the curb not to obstruct turning vehicles ,, Done more then 9 meters from the curb .. Rangers said as long as it was in the border or inside fence line that's all good to do so..Done everything is interior to the fence line or border of the Land . after 4 months they decided to do road works so i couldn't put the truck inside, so i rang the Rangers and spoke to them on it, They were good with it as i had proof and they came and seen it them selves.. then i get the building surveyor and a very rude unhelpful Acting Team leader, from the Building Policy not wanting to hear about it and wanting to threaten me with a $1500 infringement and take it to Land and Environmental Court? then i asked for his Managers name and contact number, i rang and i was to get a call back yet i am still wanting on it... Very much contradicting and Pushy with Bully tactics to and as a Resident or Tenants of the Blacktown area. Even though i have asked several other residents within the area of there containers on there properties, they know nothing of such clauses? Shameful by the possible certain people that makes me think there's some one that can have there way through this council.. Please if anyone can tell me what is the lands and building have to do with a portable removable and relocatable container? its not a building or used as such, if there's anyone that can tell me i would really like to understand it. A caravan or trailer anything that is relocatable / Removable shouldn't be classified as a building or a unless it was to be the part of the building.. I just cant Understand this? i am not developing. Not building around it.. what would this be in breach of Complying Development Codes 2008? clause 3.27 Very Unhappy and Stressed public resident of Blacktown since 1994 in different areas of Blacktown.

So it's been quite a hassle trying to get a compost bin. Save yourself the hassle and just buy a compost bin from Bunnings. When I first when in to council on 20 April 2021, I was hoping it would be fairly straightforward, just pay, get the rebate with showing proof of address, and pick it up and go. However it wasn't that simple. After waiting for about 10 minutes I needed to fill out a form, show my driver's license, put in a rebate request, and pay. I was given a receipt, and was told that it would be delivered to me. On the 22nd of April I got an email asking me to send the receipt in order to get the $25 rebate, which I did on the 26th. I called on the 14th of May because I hadn't received the compost bin. After I gave my receipt number, I was told that someone would call me back. I called again on Monday 17th May as nobody called me back. I was advised that it would be delivered by the end of the week. Well it is now Fri 21 at 11 pm, and I haven't received it. To make it more of a hassle, they sent me a cheque for $25, with Westpac. Now I would need to take it into Westpac to bank the cheque. I won't be surprised if I have to open a Westpac account and go through KYC in order to bank it. If I knew it would be this much of a hassle, I would've just gone to Bunnings to buy one.

No Planning on infrastructure, just keep increasing the size with small homes where there should be 500 homes, there are 1000 now. Traffic absolutely terrible, no control on population in area, don't know how even approve the grannie flats and houses when roads are not in condition to hold the traffic, lookout the schools, over capacity, crowding. No control on exhaust muffler sounds, no matter what happens we are dealing with other matters. absolutely horrendous employees sitting in Council , seems like fake qualification holders who don't have a penny knowledge how to accommodate the population in livable means. This place seems like non-livable in few years. Junkies are uncontrollable, they are shoplifting, theft from homes and outside homes. police is hopeless and environment protection authority is helpless.... do something bring intellect in planning.. Councilors

Non existent online services. For anything worth your time, you have to pick up the phone to request anything. Otherwise, if you do go ahead and create a service request, it gets lost in limbo, and staff are completely clueless about it. When you do of course end up on the phone to ask why the whole street's garbage hasn't been picked up for a whole week already past collection day, or to ask for replacement bins, because of their very "gentle" and "considerate" drivers smashing yours, you get a 'not my problem, we'll be sure to raise this to drivers' response, and wait some more for an eventual fix.

It's been a month since I am dealing with Blacktown council. I already have a pretty disappointing experience dealing with the council over the phone/email just to get a reply. Sometimes, their phone number does not work. So, other than sending an email, there is a rare chance that I would get an answer. I have to call them numerous times after waiting for weeks just to hear that a form needs to be filled out with an application fee! Seriously! Starting from customer service representatives to each department, if this is the way they attend to priority queries, it's sheer disappointment.

Just got off the phone from Kelly asking for some potholes to be filled in and she couldn't have been more helpful if she knew I were going to put up a review. Delightful lady. Sadly, I have to agree more council staff could do better. The time it takes to get information back about the DA processes now that the new LEP has come about is dreadful. I understand from those I know who are trying to build have plenty of waiting time. There certainly is plenty of room for improvement Blacktown Council but more like Kelly would be a good start :)

This council doesn't even deserve half a star. The Blacktown city council are absolutely useless. We have a house that has been unoccupied for years now and is completely overgrown with grass. There have been cockroaches, rats and now snakes. Now we have tried calling them to get it fixed up and yet they haven't even tried to do a thing about it. My cat was in that yard and was bitten by a snake and is dying because of these morons. If they can't even do their freaking jobs, what good are they.

  • Sahil Mehta

I am surprised with Blacktown Councils efficiency. Almost (almost) all requests I have put in have always been actioned, not always in a timely response but considering Blacktown Council is the 3rd largest LGA in the country they surely have multiple requests coming in every minute so its fair to give them a go. Better experience with this council than Hills and Parramatta council, although this council needs to update its website so we can log jobs online similar to the Hills councils website.

Turns a blind eye candidates accused of fraud and corruption. Domestic violence is through the roof and even people with first hand experience knowledge of the issue (myself) who have risked a lot to speak out publicly against people such as Labor councillor Moninder Singh, are not given the chance to provide evidence which consists of 20+ years of lived experience, first hand knowledge and witnessing of crimes committed by both himself, his business partners as well as his associates

Need Urgent Attention from Council - At Riverstone community Children and families are in danger. There are 3 dogs that are left loose by the owners and the dogs have been attacking kids and running around these areas - Kensington park road, Boundary Road etc. Some of our neighbours have logged a case with council - ref nos RM-23024899 & RM23011763. Honestly we cannot wait for dissaster to happen and be sorry as this is dangerous. PLEASE HELP

  • Bharat Desh

They are best council i have seen so far. They have cancelled KHOTASTANI-sikh Referendum (which is anti-Australian and Anti-Indian) events last week few times. They are servicing best to maintain the peace and hamony among different believes in Australia. All other councils need to earn from Blacktown City council how to take strict actions against uncivilised entities like Khalistani-Sikhs. Thanks Again!

I’ve had too many negative experiences dealing with BCC. They are unhelpful, unresponsive, and worst of all take no accountability. It is appalling that the BCC need at least 15 days to respond to ALL email enquires - e.g. one must complete a two page form, then wait at least 15 days before the Council would provide contact details (names only) of neighbours. Most inefficient and ineffective process!!

  • Lili Dai

Dear Councilors, could you please adjust the traffic light at the corner of Main Street, crossing Newton road and Sunnyrold road. From Newton Rd turing left to Main Street, I can barely see the left arrow on the traffic light. I realised there was the red left arrow after I went out seeing green pedestrian light on. It’s shocking. I could hit pedestrians! Shame! I probably get fined due to this.

So I had some plans submitted by a builder on the 3/09/2015 and after 4 weeks call to see where it is at. For some reason it was sitting on someone's desk for 4 weeks and only recieved on the 3/10/2015. I feel robbed, I pay the fees and my rates in time all the time, the least they can do it treat my application fairly. From now on I'll pay all my council rates as late as possible...

Feedback on customer service re bin service Customer service has been satisfying when calling council until 22/4/21 at 10.10am. Lady who picked up the phone was rude. You should let people finish talking before interrupting. Blunt tone of voice showing that you didnt care about your job and customer who are paying council rates. She needs an intensive customer serviçe training.

  • Aliss Arminak

Its the worst council ... the rates are sky high but their service to its OWN citizens are shameful, just try to complain about any given issue and wait for them to replay or do something ..forget about fixing it as that will never happen, just wandering about the amount of corruption , guess they are busy raising the rates and don't have time to listen or CARE

  • Bloo Hema

The worst council to ever exist. Their workers broke the tap to my front yard and they were confronted. I messaged the council and they said I needed proof of their worker doing so. I sent them a video and photo of my broken tap and apparently it was not enough proof. This council never takes responsibility for anything, the roads are another subject…

  • Brandon Walzak

I called the council as I continuously receive fines from parking inspectors for parking in front of my house. I called to settle this issue and was instructed to call state revenue to debate the fines as I reviewed them. There was no permit that could be obtained from them and they stated that it may continue to happen and they can't help. Cheers.

  • Anthony Cushing

Contacted Blacktown Council today on three occasions, concerning damage to the road by a contractor working on house opposite. Was told an engineer would contact me within an hour. That was about four hours ago no follow up since then. Cannot complain about service, there is not any. got photos if they want them. I won't hold my breath waiting.

  • rodney power

Definatly not worth any stars, Blacktown Council Rangers book people with disability parking authoritiers in their window as not current when they have some sun damage, another way for Blacktown Council to rob people blind & to pick on the disabled, now i have to write letters & fight the $531.00 fine, biggest bunch of morons around

  • Ben Goodbrand

When council was advised that a footpath they are required to maintain had become dangerous and unusable, there response was "Unfortunately I must advise that we do not have the funds or resources". I guess the rates we pay are being used on things that are more important than the safety and usability of public paths.

  • JB All Trades

Please take more time to remove the rubbish so it can be taken away properly we pay our rates in full. Do not rush and leave our streets littered with mess which attracts rats plz have respect for the residents. Every week we clean up after you, it's time to lift the bar for blacktown.

  • Rob Pye

Just had a great experience with the customer service team booking a household garbage pickup. Service was quick, efficient and friendly. Having read recent reviews, I was shocked at the sense of entitlement some people have. So I thought I'd balance the score a little

  • Belinda Ong

Excellent Customer Service ! I want to commend Karen for excellent customer service. Karen had a warm smile for everyone. She was very helpful, answering all our questions and providing helpful advice. Her warmth and her smile had certainly brightened out day.

  • Geoffrey Farrell

An excellent record of achievement and for building new infrastructure such as the libraries and Community Hubs all done whilst maintaining ZERO debt. Outstanding job considering size of the population and the enormous annual growth

  • Amin Noori

Take my hat off for an outstanding Australia day party at the Rooty Hill organised by Blacktown City Council. I live in the money grab council of Penrith with highest efficiency/specialty of increasing rates and worst service .

  • Nang Kaau Mai Mweang

Staff always contradict eachother when giving you information. No one knows whats going on and so they try to get you out the door by saying they will get you in contact with someone higher up to call you and they never do.

  • Peter Stock

I've had nothing but great service from BCC. They may not be able to help with everything but at least they listen and liaise with relevant departments to get needs met. I reckon they'd get thousands of requests a month.

  • frank varghae

They are very RUDE and have a lack of civilisation and not to mention closed minded and very lazy . And I'm very sorry to see the Blacktown community is run by a group of LOW CLASS people from top to bottom. thx to Mayor

  • Kim Tsao

Even though they are one of the biggest and busiest Councils, I have always found Blacktown Council staff to be courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient. I cannot commend their efforts highly enough - thank you.

  • Ivy Joyce

This Council does not answer emails I have requested some one come out about the parking in the street and access to driveway but no answer ...typical just after money not there to help

  • Stephen Tso

Efficient and effective. My enquiry (pensioner’s rebate) was attended to and dealt within just a few hours time on the phone. The staffs are very helpful and friendly. …

  • Josiane Ayoub

Blacktown city council staff and team are amazing. We reported an unsafe tree on the road that needed trimming or cutting. They acted on it within a day with a great team work.

  • peter francis

i wish they would enforce the rubbish rule and fine all these scumbags leaving their rubbish out the front of their houses waiting for "someone else "to get rid of it for them

  • John Healy

Made a complaint approximately 3weeks ago, re.a tree overhanging the footpath in Toole St Doonside, which makes it impossible to walk on the footpath, so far no action taken.

  • Mark Barnes

After reporting illegal dumping in front of your residence, and a follow-up call 2 days later, it still takes another 3 days to get picked up.

  • Nishant K

The worst experience I’ve ever had…only thing left for me and my wife to do is to probably self-immolate in front of their office.

  • Moh Khan

Very easy setup..grab ticket for service. Best to come during mid morning. Pretty much empty for quick service call.
