If you love books you'll love this shop - it has a wonderful range of books especially collectibles, classics, and Australian fiction/history. Staff were helpful and offered assistance, very pleasant to deal with. The range rivals Oxfam on Hutt Street, and probably beats Rotary in Edwardstown. There are all sorts of nooks and cozy corridors full of surprises. From today's visit I'd give the shop a 9 out of 10 - the only thing stopping it being a 10 was the temperature inside. Unfortunately the air cons weren't working; on a 35 degree day with no windows or air movement combined with hundreds of thousands of books this makes for a stifling experience. Management need to get air cons fixed as a huge priority, and maybe a few fans in the interim; it was warmer than outside. It was quite frustrating because I could have spent hours in there including some reading on the couches, and then left with dozens of books, but had to settle for an hour and a handful of books. To be clear, this should not stop anyone going and I will be back soon, everyone needs to check out this shop.

A surprisingly large selection of books, possibly the largest second hand book selection in Adelaide. Don't be fooled by its small looking exterior, because within its walls are a plethora of well loved literature. If you're looking for a particular classic in absolutely any genre you may possibly get lucky at Blackwood Books! You'll get lost within its walls and what feels like endless rooms of books. It's always fun just having a browse here because of what you might find. I've found that its a great store to find new books that you may never have known existed. All book lovers and collectors must stop here! I would recommend this establishment.

Went in a while ago now. The man behind the counter was of zero help. No greetings or asking if I needed help. I felt as though he just wanted me gone so he could go back to his phone. Massive store with lots of books on offer but unfortunately there was a severe lack of signage missing so I never knew what section I was in or where the new authors started. And the excess of books piled up on the floor and everywhere else was very unpleasant.

Have been wanting to go here forever, but was worth the wait in the end! Sarah is so patient and the shop is a treasure trove for readers. The shop owner, Sarah is always up for a chat and happy to answer questions if you need any books in particular. She was so helpful in finding some old New Yorker magazines for me. Would definitely be back - great reads at affordable prices!

BB was one of my favorite secondhand book stores, but they have made a complete mess of it recently by rearranging it by half and the young guy and now young girl who work there are not motivated to get it organised! Very frustrating! I hope they get it done soon with not too many more walk outs.

Wasn't organised at all(Books scattered on the ground, books out of reach). There was a lack of signs around the shop to show what books were on the shelves (catogories) and it felt very missmatched. Staff didn't great us on arrival or ask if we needed help while we attempted to look around.

Great book shop. Huge selection of second hand books. Friendly staff. Books piled up everywhere and old couches randomly placed throughout adds to the charm of this place. Have found some great text books for uni at very decent prices. If the sold coffee I could easily lose half a day here

This shop buys second hand books for cash as well as selling them. It only buys certain books depending on resale value and amount of cash on hand. Books not bought can be accepted for passing on (donated) to charity organization libraries. The person at the till was pleasant and helpful.

An Aladin's cave of Literary Gems! Could spend a lifetime in this beautiful bookshop. I found books from childhood that I couldn't find anywhere else. Such kind and helpful staff. Thank you for providing this to us dear Sarah. It has free'd my imagination from its bottle.

As an avid reader, I was told by a friend this book exchange is the best. So I made a visit today, so pleased I did. The guy in the shop is a wizard when it comes to books. There is a great range with good prices. Bought a couple of books and will definitely return.

THE BEST second-hand bookshop I have EVER experienced! Visited lots over the decades, this IS the best - if you love books, do yourself a favour and check it out. Be warned though.... it's literally like the TARDIS, be prepared to spend a good 1/2-1 hour browsing.

One of the biggest collection of vintage sci fi I've seen in one place and a treasure trove of other books. Great value and was able to pick up some good kids books too. You need to spend a bit of time searching, but worth it for the value.

Best place I know of to source books. Great range, fantastic owner. You'll want to wander around and browse and get lost amongst the book shelves. Love the chess table, coffee making facility and minties jar!

A great place for a very broad selection of books, both fiction and non-fiction. Would be greater if they could be open all week. Friendly and helpful staff too.
