First of all_ we did not have a clue that this place existed in Nashville, even though we love to try all the possible spots we are able to access. As it was Mother's Day weekend and I had driven all the way back to Nashville from Pennsylvania; I anxiously spent this special weekend with my son. I love the water_ beaches, lakes, ponds, rivers, all bodies of water; we searched for riverfront eateries. The FIRST time was a charm when we happened upon the 'Blue Moon Riverfront Grille' on the Cumberland River! The song says it best_ "Once in a Blue Moon, I'll do something right." We entered the marina and parked almost immediately even though the parking area was packed with other diners and/or boaters. We spoke with the hostesses and were given a pager with a wait of 40 minutes. That turned out not to be the case at all. I walked up to the bar to order (2) iced teas while we waited and saw (2) empty seats at the end of the bar and grabbed my son and told him we would 'belly up' to the bar and dine; he was all for it. Christian brought our iced teas to us immediately and menus were placed in front of us as well. We scanned the diverse and delicious selections before we decided on the honey dipped chicken/shrimp with rice (the most tasty rice that I've ever eaten)_ it was sweet but had a hint of heat too! I also had the garlic broccoli that was amazing. My son opted for the westcost wrap with grill chicken, bacon, cheese, avocado, brought together with a tasty aioli. My son said it was the best wrap he had ever tasted. Erica never let our drinks get halfway down before she was filling new glasses with iced tea and lemon; she worked that full bar and grille like a well-oiled machine! John dropped by asking if we were okay and was there anything he could get for us.... Obviously we felt like the only guests in the room. The grille is an open structure with outdoor dining alike. The cool breeze coming off the beautiful Cumberland River was so nice and refreshing on such a warm and beautiful day. Our first visit hopefully we not be our last visit; we absolutely adored this new-found spot! Great job from the (2) friendly and cordial hostesses to our trio at the bar_ Erica, Christian, and John! You guys made our day more special than we ever dreamed it could be. We were so happy and full when we left there and talked about planning our next opportunity to go again soon. Thanks again guys_ you all are phenomenal.

We had a day out in Nashville with my little niece Riley today. I was trying to find somewhere fun and unique for us to go have lunch. In my search, I found Blue Moon. It was only about a 20-minute wait on a Saturday afternoon, I think we hit it just right as after we showed up, there was a huge line. To say this is a unique location is an understatement. You drive through a neighborhood and then hit a rock quarry, and around the corner, you see the marina! There is quite a bit of parking and a fun walk down to the restaurant on the docks. You can see the fish swimming around as you walk to the restaurant. There is a boat rental facility there as well. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. We opted for In door so we didn't have to stress about the Lil one falling in the water. The atmosphere was great. The service was great. The hubs had a Bushwacker. A frozen cocktail concoction. Delicious! For an appetizer, we had the queso trio. Salsa, guacamole, and queso with chips that had a little salt and fresh ground pepper on them. The guacamole was fresh with the right amount of onion and tomatoes. The Chips were crispy, and the addition of the salt and pepper gave them a unique twist. For lunch, I had the blacked Mahi Mahi tacos with rice and beans. The rice and black beans were mixed together in a bowl, almost like red beans and rice. The fish was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The bites of fish melted in your mouth. The sauce was a great addition to the tacos. The hubs had a catfish platter. Nice big pieces of flaky fresh catfish. Fries and hushpuppies were on the side. We chose the chicken tenders for the Lil one, and the tenders were definitely fresh, not frozen ones. She had more fun with the chips and queso and then her French fries, but she did eat one of the 3 tenders it came with. Blue Moon has a Sunday brunch that I think we will go back and try! Blue Moon is a hidden Lil gem in Nashville, and we will definitely be returning. The food, atmosphere, and service made this a definite go-to! Not to mention those Bishwackers! ;)

Visited Blue Moon for the first time upon a recommendation from family. Did not know what to expect but the restaurant is located at a marina so it's surrounded by water. Lots of space. You could dine inside or outside. We were seated immediately. Our server was okay. We arrived a little before 1pm so maybe she was tired. No smile or excitement. Anyway, she did bring whatever we needed and answered questions. I ordered the seafood platter: coconut shrimp, catfish, fries, a taste of cole slaw and hushpuppies. I added a side salad. Coconut shrimp were good. They were dark like they got a little too crispy but still had a good favor. The catfish batter tasted good. The catfish needed to cook a little more for me (I will probably not order again). The hushpuppies were great! The slaw was meh. Fries had a good taste but were oily and soggy. My husband ordered the seafood platter: grilled shrimp and salmon. He had fries and Cole slaw as well. He agreed on my description of the fries. He said his salmon was bland. Our son ordered the jerk chicken. It had black beans, rice, and pineapple salsa. He said that it tasted okay. He wasn't a fan of the sweetness from the pineapple salsa. He cleaned his plate. He had the mac and cheese. He said that it was alright but wished he had ordered a different side. We will return and go for the breakfast and brunch options. They had lots of food items that we want to try. The atmosphere was good. A little expensive at over $100 including tip for 3 people.

We never had our order taken. Went there for a date on a random Saturday afternoon....No one ever took our drink order or brought us water, after waiting for 11-12 minutes. My bf went to the bar And grabbed me a coffee. The bartender (lady) was very nice to him. He brought it back to the table. This was after waiting 6minutes without being greeted by a server. After 6 more minutes went by, I told him, "Let's go. I am not used to being ignored in a restaurant. They obviously don't care for our business." He went to check out w/the bartender. Again, she was nice while he explained that the table would no longer be occupied by us. I informed the front desk of what happened and why we were leaving. 2 young ladies were chatting away. They kind of just sat there and stared offering no apology, no consolation, no "May I get our manager to make this better?" Nothing..they just stared at me in silent disbelief. Offering nothing. [They are GenZ and I am a Millenial]---- while this shouldn't mean anything, I think it might. They were empty during this moment of feedback.... Anyway, by then, my Bf had finished with the bartender for what was (probably a $2 cup of lukewarm coffee that I halfway finished). And we walked up the boardwalk and back to the car. He thought I would enjoy this place, since I've never been, but we did not. While it looked like the food & cocktails of others were at least decent, we never received any service (although several servers looked in our direction); we wasted our gas...I wouldn't advise this place----

I went here with a larger group of 9 on a Tuesday night at 6pm and there was no wait. The first and most exciting thing I noticed was the view it was beautiful. The atmosphere was great too. The real treat was our waiter, he was top notch. Very attentive and incredibly polite. He deserves 5 stars alone. The food was ok. The mahi mahi sandwich was a bit bland in taste but overall it was fine. The prices were a bit high as well. I got a beer, diet coke and the mahi sandwich meal and since our party was large gratuity was added (which is not a complaint, just a statement) so my meal was $32 and some change. Maybe that's average, I don't actually know. It was a great experience nonetheless though and I definitely want to go back and try other menu options. The parking lot had plenty of spots and the area is easily accessible. It is a little hidden but my GPS got me there with no issues Going at sunset on a cool evening was a great start to the week. Will definitely be back at some point. We were told they close for the season on 11/1.

Mediocre food, less than expected drinks, service was on top of things and very accommodating. However this location is incredibly dirty, especially in terms of bugs. Looking above the bar there's thousands of spider and flyers stuck in corners and on the wall, that's so disgusting considering the high possibility of them falling in drinks. Worse than that though, the entirety of their outside dining is infested with spiders and it seems they make no effort to combat that situation. Literally thousands upon thousands of spiders above you as you eat and walk up to the restaurant. As someone with pretty mild arachnophobia I was still terrified and definitely did not enjoy my experience here.

It is tucked away and a little hard to get to if you have issues walking down ramps or on docks. The restaurant itself has really cool vibes and is open air with a nice patio. There are a lot of spiders overhead so might not want to look up, especially by the bathrooms. Our food experience was pretty poor. Of a group of four one persons fries were too salty to eat, rice was crunchy on another’s, and my wings had burnt feathers. There were even several more instances of service not being attentive/appropriate that I’ll spare you the details. We had a good time nonetheless and would possibly try it again to see if we get a different experience if we find ourselves in the area.

The food was incredible and so was the service!! Drinks were great, and everything was priced so nicely compared to what many other places would charge. Using Apple Maps, Blue Moon was easy to navigate and find! Our waitress was so sweet and the atmosphere was so nice. Loved being near the water and had a night to escape the normal, crazy Nashville atmosphere I’m used to. Will definitely be back!!

Great experience! Went with my 2 year old daughter, husband, and two out of town family members. Everyone was so sweet and accommodating. I felt like we were so obnoxious with our requests of changing tables and leaving messes, but everyone did a really amazing job of making us feel comfortable and welcome. My husband and I have been in the service industry a long long time so we apologize for our out-of-touch family members waving down our incredible server at one point. I can’t remember his name, but he was lovely. Everyone was great. Doug (the manager, I think that was his name?) was so helpful and reassuring. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much for a great and delicious dinner!

Came to Nashville on vacation from Florida. Found this little gem and figured we'd give it a shot. I'm SO glad we did. Beautiful view on the water. I ordered fried oysters (first time I've ever had them) and they were delicious. Melt in your mouth, so good. I would come back just for them again. My husband had the catfish, and it was delicious all around. Our server was Rebecca and she was very quick, honest and we never went without anything. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a nice seafood restaurant

We went for the first time last night and had an excellent experience. The food was amazing and exceeded expectations. We initially went to check out the view and have dinner by the water, but it was so much more than that. Cocktails, chicken tenders, chicken sandwich, west coast wrap, cheese curds, and the FRIES were all amazing. Service wasn’t the quickest, but we went at the dinner rush and they only recently opened back up for the season, so we weren’t bothered at all. We’ll definitely be back!

Nice place to grab a bite to eat over the water. Indoor and outdoor seating available (they have roll up doors to close off the indoor section). The walk over the boardwalk and boat docks adds a nice touch to the experience. Ambience was very nice, good music being played, nice views of the waters/marina. Shrimp Po Boy was great! Service was friendly. We went for a late lunch, around 3pm or so. Look forward to returning!

Beautiful, relaxing and fun dockside restaurant and bar nestled in a pristine harbor on The Cumberland River alongside some lovely cabin cruisers and other watercraft. The sun can get a little intense mid to late afternoon. The food and drinks are sub-par compared to the optimum location. The music soundtrack they play features country and 70’s soft rock which can get pretty boisterous.

Our group of 3 enjoyed the dinner here. We shared an order of calamari to start, and really liked the squid. it doesn't need the sauce. We had a fried oyster basket and the shrimp and grits. All were delicious! The hush puppies are especially nice. Being on the water was lovely. It was a colder day, so we ate indoors, but all the glass doors and windows give wonderful views. We would all return.

Lovely little spot on the Cumberland river, in the marina. We went for drinks only, so i can't speak to the food, but the service was great even though they were really busy. And the tab wasn't at all over priced. Seemed family friendly. There were a lot of people out with their children. All in all a cute place to grab a bite and a drink on the water. But make sure to plan your trip for a day when there's a bit of a breeze or you might get a whiff of that special Cumberland River spice. (Locals know what I mean )

First I took over 20 minutes to be greeted after we sat down after watching multiple other tables be greeted that sat after us right away. My abuela then ordered this salmon which came out completely raw when telling the server she said that is how it is served. It was completely pink and ice cold. We waited over 30 minutes to get this atrocity of a fish. Nothing was done about it so we paid our 100 dollar bill and left. Management was non existent apparently and servers and cooks enjoy serving people raw fish.

Waited an hour and a half to be seated (never got seated) while groups of people (white people) came straight in and got seated and served AFTER us with no reservations or anything because this place doesn’t do reservations. I then asked the hostess what’s going on with that and her response was “oh she didn’t know we had been waiting” …keep in mind they give you a buzzer and write your name on a list IN ORDER. Long story short if you’re a person of color don’t waste your time.

Have been here many, many times over the years. Sadly, the last few experiences have been lacking. I was served fish and rice... with a side of rice, and my wife was served shrimp and grits... with a side of grits. Our friend did not order fries, told the waitress, but was still charged for fries. We were only checked on once, in passing, during the meal. Very disappointing in comparison to past visits.

Great food in the perfect size that you’re not too full with an appetizer beforehand. The atmosphere is great although be careful going down the dock to get there, it of course can be slick at times. The green flash drink was amazing, and we had the calamari to start which had the perfect batter, followed by a jerk chicken with all the perfect topping as well as a perfectly grilled Mahi Mahi. Again, positions are “small” but you leave feeling nothing more than satisfied, a fresh change from over stuffed at most places.

  • Emily Darden

My husband and I were visiting from out of town, and we were trying to find somewhere outside of Nashville to eat, to hopefully avoid a long wait time. This place satisfied that. Although they seemed a little busy, there was no wait for a table, and a brief wait to put in drink orders, maybe 5 minutes. The cocktails were very good, the food was decent, and it was all reasonably priced. Loved it being open to fresh air and being on the water.

What a hidden gem. You are driving through an industrial park and then have to walk across marine service-area ramps and then bam, you are in a riverside restaurant. Great service, great food, and right on the river with boats coming in and out. Wife commented it would be fun to watch a game there. I was assuming sports bar, fried-everything, but that was not at all the case. Only negative stated was that the crab cakes were a little bland. Shrimp and grits were great. A great experience.

  • Eric McElroy

Talk about some good food. This place has a great view, excellent service and good food. The prices may be high, but you're paying for what you see. You are basically set on a peninsula overlooking the harbor. The drinks are strong. Now, I've only been here three times. And every time, the drinks come out strong. Hell yeah. HELL YEAH. If you stop by, ask for Melody. EXCELLENT WAITRESS. She gets it. She understands what a person needs without even asking. Top notch waitress.

  • Michaela Peace

Third time visiting. Nice change of pace from chain restraunts. Food was pretty good and waitress was nice. Nothing real super great or negative. Drinks were good flavor and good priced. The scenery was the selling point. Had geese and turtles swimming right near the railing and beautiful boats out on the marina. Will definitely go back.

Seafood Quiche excellent! Bloody Mary delicious. My companion enjoyed her more traditional bacon, eggs, and pancakes breakfast but to charge for asking for more maple syrup was a surprise especially since there was barely a tablespoon of it in the tiny cup that came with the meal. 6/5/22 Had the shrimp parmasean quiche, with oven roasted potatoes and N extra fruit cup, delicious!

We stopped by for an evening meal. My Little Princess had the oyster basket with broccoli and I had the catfish basket with macaroni. The food was very good, but the oysters were very small, thus the four stars. This isn't a place you go to for atmosphere, but the food. It's on the river at a marina. The service was very good, Johnathan was always there when you needed him.

For an on the water seafood restaurant they sure dont have much seafood, and the little they do have they sure dont know how to cook. We got peel and eat shrimp as an appetizer, it was ice cold and rubbery, we didnt order cocktail shrimp. The coconut shrimp entre was just as rubbery as the appetizer, and the crab cakes were all bread. The bill was $100 i was incredibly disappointed at the whole experience.

The food here was delicious! The atmosphere made me feel like I was at the beach. The service was excellent, and the view was gorgeous! My Neptune burger was good unfortunately my wife's onion allergy was not taken seriously. Half way through her meal we found scallions. When we told the waitress she apologized but that's it. No offer to make anything additional, nor did we hear from a manager. The view was great, as was the live music and the occasional fish and turtles that came up to the edge of the dock while we ate.

Move place in a marina. Didn't expect much but anything fried is hand breaded which is a plus. Sauces on sandwiches and apps were delicious. Part of 10 and everyone rises food looked pretty good. Didn't care for that they serve rice with everything. Server was new and young. You could tell she was nervous but she did a great job!

If you were to tell me this was in west Nashville, I would’ve called you a liar. Such a beautiful place to eat and with beautiful views. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and had great recommendations. It does get busy in the evening and the parking can be a pain but overall I loved it! ❤️

Though the location is nice to get away and be near water, the food was not that great. No one in my party enjoyed their meal, except for the calamari we had for appetizers. And it was far too pricey for the food to be subpar.

Really nice place. My only complaint was that the rice was kinda hard but besides that every was vibe especially being able to see the wild life in the water.

The view and vibes make this spot along the river a little gem in Nashville. Good food, great French fries! Perfect for a night out with friends or a date night watching the sun set. Hopefully they’ll have live music this season, but tonight they didn’t. Grateful it’s open! Happy spring!!

Loved this place! Fun restaurant on the water, away from the noise of the city. The staff was friendly, the prices were reasonable, and the food was great. One of the better fried catfish plates I’ve had, as well as the hush puppies.

I like to come here when I want to feel like I'm on the beach with tropical cocktails and on the water. Nice shady deck to sit on to eat a relaxing lunch and forget you're in Nashville for a bit.

Very yummy food, fast service on a Saturday at about 330. Bread atmosphere and if you don't have live music, the overhead music is good and prior to 2000s mix. Also, draft beer is cold, and you get to watch the boats, fish, and turtles swim by. Very relaxing environment.

Great food off the beaten path in Nashville on the water. So relaxing and the waitstaff was fabulous. They also had an awesome bushwhacker!

Got the catfish basket with fries and hush puppies. All of it was fantastic. The fries are battered. The breading on the catfish was tasty. Will definitely come back again. Great little hangout spot.

The manager went out of his way to make sure we still had food even though when we got there it was a closed event. The mahi tacos were everything!. It was a very interesting and pleasant first experience. I will definitely visit here again …

My family is from Florida and we are often homesick for the ocean and being able to go anywhere to eat and be on the water. This place is definitely our home away from home! A very cozy spot with great food and awesome service.

Didn't really expect to eat on the waterfront in Nashville but this place was so fun! Loved sitting outside, rocking with the water. Food and drinks were delicious, waitress was fantastic! A definite visit again kind of place!

This place is gorgeous! Our waiter was awesome and the food was amazing! A big plus was we got to eat right on the water. It definitely gave us beach vibes. Next time we visit Nashville, we will be back!
