Fantastic canal tour that I 100% recommend to book when traveling to Amsterdam with your friends and family. Unlike other touristy canal cruises that you see around the city, what we really love the most about this tour was that you had a private boat away from the crowds, and you can really take in the cityscape at your own pace. We all thought that the hour of tour flew by so quickly when everything around you was so beautiful. I love that Paap cruised us around many beautiful canals and he was so knowledgeable to share as many local history and fun facts of the city. This canal cruise is super comfy & perfect for small groups coming to Amsterdam around 4-6 people, and comes with free drinks! We did our tour around noon, but I imagine during summer time even late night sunset tours would also be super amazing to experience too!

We had a wonderful time on the canal tour with Rederij Paping! We had booked a small group tour but it ended up being a private tour for just my husband and I. Our skipper was friendly and personable - it felt like we were having a conversation with an old friend. He gave us a historical overview of the things we were seeing and answered all our questions and pointed out all sorts of restaurants, cafes and stores that we might want to visit. Because it ended up being a private tour, he offered to drop us off anywhere we wanted (within reason) at the end of the tour. We asked him for a recommendation for a restaurant for Pannenkoek and he dropped us off right at their doorstep. I highly recommend this tour and would recommend this for anyone looking for a laid back, relaxing tour of the Amsterdam canals.

"Rederij Paping" ist absolut empfehlenswert, wenn ihr eine tolle Grachtenfahrt durch Amsterdam machen wollt. Die komplette Kommunikation mit Carla war einfach super einfach und sie antwortete immer richtig schnell. Das war sehr angenehm. Die Fahrt mit Paap war super toll. Dank seiner Deutschkenntnisse war es auch meinen Eltern möglich sich zu unterhalten und Informationen über Amsterdam direkt von ihm zu erhalten. Paap ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Er hat wunderschöne Bilder von uns gemacht sobald er ein schönes Motiv gesehen hatte. Wir haben die Fahrt im vollen Zuge genossen und würden immer wieder über "Book a Tour" buchen. Vielen Dank!

I capped off my one-week trip to Amsterdam by taking Paap's tour on a dreary and rainy day but under his covered boat we stayed completely warm and dry. There were only six of us on the tour which felt so intimate compared to the large tour boats that have dozens of tourists. We sipped complementary Prosecco as we toured around Amsterdam-Centrum and Jordaan. Even if you've already done a tour of the city, don't skip out on your chance to see Amsterdam along the canals with Paap -- and don't let bad weather deter you. This tour will give you a completely different look at the city and you'll learn a lot about the history of the city's canals and waterways. It was a fantastic way to end my trip.

I live in Amsterdam and when I have friends, family or guests visiting, I always suggest spending some time on the canals in a boat. It’s part of life in my city and one of the most fun things to do. For the past years I have booked skipper Paap several times. Paap is fun and full of stories. The engine of his boat is electric which makes all the difference. You can take a picnic and maybe a bottle of wine on board. In the little fridge you can keep your drinks cool. The roof can be opened to let the sunshine in if you like. And there are always enough pillows on board so you can make yourself comfortable. For everybody visiting Amsterdam, this can be the highlight of your trip.

Paap is the best kept secret in Amsterdam! The tour was beyond fantastic- it was filled with information, humor, hot chocolate and sparking wine! You could not ask for a better skipper- Paap is warm and provides a wonderful history of Amsterdam as he takes you on a peaceful and picturesque tour. This tour puts all those big ugly tour boats to shame. There were only 10 of us on the boat, so there were many opportunities for questions and stories! We even got to disembark halfway through to take pictures. Thank you for one of the best family memories ever!!!

Such a great experience, a friend of mine organized the trip for us with Paping and it was wonderful. Being in the canals was a totally different experience than walking around looking at from outside, Paping and his wife made sure that we had an even better experience. The most memorable experience you can give yourself in Amsterdam. The quiet solar-powered boat glides through the canals. We booked a tour right before sunset, so we got to see the canals getting all quiet and magical as the sun went down. Paap is great--he'll either sit quietly and let you enjoy your privacy or explain things to you if you ask. You can bring snacks and wine on board. For us this was a splurge but it was SO worth it.

Had the most fabulous cruise, including the beautiful festival of lights, on 13-12-19 and if you are looking for a trip with just a small group (9 + skipper in our case) i think you would be hard pressed to find a more pleasant, informative, friendly and relaxed option. This cruise was on the 1st evening of our stay and really was a highlight that set us up perfectly for our visit. Go ahead & book, you will not be disappointed.

Really worth your money. I booked this tour via TripAdvisor and the boat and her captain were ready to welcome me aboard. It’s truly the best way to see hidden gems and corners of this beautiful city, right after renting a bike and roaming through the canals. I love this city for its vibrant and sparkling atmosphere, for its informality, for the freedom to be whomever and whatever you are. Very friendly folks ❤️

Just had a fabulous private canal tour of the city with Skipper Paap. Small, quiet boat that allowed us to access a lot of the smaller more quaint canals. Personalized pickup and drop off - only had to walk 1 block from where we were staying! Could bring our own food/drinks, and wasn't much more money than the big boat tours for the 5 of us to have a boat to ourselves The most relaxing activity of our vacation!

Onwer/operator Skipper Marc "Paap" is the man. Can't get a better, more relaxed, laid-back and personalized tour than with Paap. He knows the canal like the back of his hand, and will answer any and all questions. This was not a cookie-cutter canal boat tour. I did tour on a Sunday evening, and it was wonderful. Highly recommend.

Lovely, relaxed tour, best skipper ever. The boat also goes on the smaller canals, the tour is 90 minutes which allows for just that little bit more sight seeing. And you have and actual (and knowledgeable) human being to talk to rather than the taped texts running on the large tourists boats.

Having lived in Amsterdam of four year now - this is one of my favourite things to do in the city. We go with a group of friends or whenever visitors are in town - we cruise the canals and always have a great time and always learn something new about the city from the very knowledgable crew.

Had a wonderful experience on this boat trip while going through the lightshow. Its not your average boat trip. Paap was our skipper and he did an amazing job, kept us entertained. His English is splendid as well. The boat itself is quite cosy and has a see through cover in case of rain.

Enjoyed a relaxing and scenic tour of the waterways this evening, including a close up view of the Amsterdam Festival of Light installations. Paap was recommended to us by locals and they were 100% right. A small party of Australians, Brazilians and French were entertained and informed!

Hele leuke tour en een super vriendelijke schipper. Wat ik het leukst vond is dat je geen vaste route vaart maar dat de schipper ter plekke de route bepaalt aan de hand van jouw wensen. Bootje was netjes, lekkere verwarmde kussens en een drankje erbij. Wij komen terug!!

Best rederij (boat company) in Amsterdam. Boats are small and electric, skippers are amazing: sit next to you and you can have nice chats with them, size of boat is made so that they can go places that bigger boats can’t go. What are you waiting for? Book a tour!
