Sadly the jungle gym for kids has been removed due to becoming dangerous because parts were plundered for fire wood. Photos show how the typical South African soil erosion is in the form of a 'donga' along a small tributary of the Braamfontein Spruit. The spruit (stream) is home to many generations of Ducks (mainly Egyptian Geese and 2 varieties of Black River Ducks) and other bird life such as hadadas, A large bird that seems to feed on larger creatures such as snakes which seems to account for the absence of snakes and their skins in the park - well so far anyway. Occasionally fish can be seen catching surface mites and in the late afternoon when the reflection of the sky is not too bright, large fish may be seen in the calmer waters swimming lazily along while looking for a snack. Upstream the stream tumbles around and even under the rocky slopes below a dam wall from the river upstream.

We always enjoy a good and adventurous mountain biking ride along the spruit. This particular spot is well worth a visit with its well kept secret vistas. I have lived in johannesburg my whole life and never was aware of the beautiful life along the spruit before mountain biking here opened this experience up to me. The braamfontein spruit had many kilometers of trails and Juma had done an excellent job in combining all the green spaces into mile upon mile of track. There is even a race once a year known as the Juma race which celebrates this achievement

Absolutely amazing place for a hangout with friends. Theres a space for cyclists and it is quite a sceneic hike. There are ducks around that you can feed but you have to look for them. The area is quite clean and serene.

I often walk my dogs here. It is not in pristine condition and there are many vagrants living in and around the banks of the river. It is not advisable to walk alone but with company it becomes a good afternoon respite.

Very peaceful and safe, wonderful landscapes and animals, there is also a cycling track for those who love cycling in the woods. Might run into a few church gowers though 9/10 would return.

A small park suitable for dogs, runners and cyclists. I'd steer away before sunrise and after sunset, it doesn't look safe outside of daylight hours.

Sound of a small waterfall and serenity of a natural flowing river reconnects to your inner soul esp midday walks when no bikers and runners

What a lovely complex, gardens so well looked after. And so spacious and quiet and easy-going atmosphere.

Good riding trails and good for trail runs as well. The fact that its next to a river is a plus

We ride the spruit from Bryanston to Alberts farm. A great green lung in the middle of suberbia

Its quiet and very peaceful.. quite a lovely place with birds chirping every now and again

It's renovated, it's clean and well looked after. Kudos to the Bordeaux community.

Tiny neighbourhood park not worth driving to if you aren't in the area

This place is very dirt, they have to cleen up maybe 3 times a month.

Good for all ages and has good facilities for the young one to play
