This was an ideal way to spend a day getting to know a few areas of the Bordeaux region with a knowledgeable and entertaining guide. Clement, a Bordeaux native, was friendly and obviously loves what he does, and he took every opportunity as we drove--from Bordeaux city to Pessac-Leognan then to Saint-Émilion to visit a total of three châteaux--to learn more about those in our group and tailor his comments toward our already existing wine knowledge. We also got to spend time walking around the tiny medieval village of Saint-Émilion and had a lovely surprise tasting there, as well. Lunch was delightful and filling, and I had plenty as a vegetarian (which I'd alerted them to ahead of time). We left with a lot more information than we already knew about wine in general and Bordeaux specifically, and Clement also offered wonderful recommendations for the rest of our stay in the city; if you're there on a Sunday morning, don't miss having oysters and white wine at Marché des Capucins--Clement says you're considered 50% French if you do that! I highly recommend this tour and would look for the opportunity to take any others offered by these guides if I'm ever fortunate enough to be back in the area.

We could not be happier with the kindness and professionalism we've received from Bordeaux Wine Trails during such a chaotic time! My wife and I were set to travel from the U.S. to France to enjoy a tour in June with Bordeaux Wine Trails as part of our honeymoon celebration. Unfortunately, COVID-19 changed those plans, and we had to postpone our trip. Jonathan and the staff have been incredibly accommodating with us as we work through figuring out when we can visit. They even helped "bring Bordeaux to us" with an opportunity to purchase local wines from France to ship to the U.S. We were so thrilled to take Jonathan up on the offer, and we've enjoyed all of the wine. Every time we open a bottle, we feel like we're celebrating something special- even as we sit in our home through a pandemic. Jonathan and the staff are first-class, and they feel like old friends even though we haven't even met them yet. Bordeaux Wine Trails is as good as it gets when it comes to customer service, and we can't wait to finally get our opportunity to take our tour and taste even more magnificent wines! - Rishi and Jenna Barran

Our bike tour through the enchanting chateaus of Saint-Émilion absolutely exceeded our expectations. From start to finish, this tour was an absolute delight. The scenery was nothing short of breathtaking. The picturesque vineyards, rolling hills, and historic chateaus provided a stunning backdrop for our adventure. Cycling through this area felt like stepping into a fairy tale. Our knowledgeable tour guide Jonathan made the experience even more memorable. His passion for the region's history and wine culture was inspiring. The behind the scenes tour of Chateau Rol Valentin was great, we learned the full process of wine making from picking the grapes to bottling the final product a few years later. We had lunch under the tree here which was simple, fresh and delicious. The bike tour through the chateaus of Saint-Émilion was an unforgettable journey. If you're looking for a truly magical and enriching experience, I wholeheartedly recommend this tour.

From the moment we stepped onto the tour bus to the final sip of an exquisite Saint Emilion Grand Cru, our wine tour experience was nothing short of magical. The scenic drive through the rolling vineyards, the education and exceptional wines set the tone for a day. Our guide was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly passionate about the region and its viniculture. The wineries we visited offered a unique experience, from intimate barrel tastings to panoramic views that took our breath away. The history and architecture of Saint Emilion itself were the perfect complements to its world-renowned wines. If you're a wine enthusiast looking to immerse yourself in one of the world's most prestigious wine regions, this tour is an absolute must. It was a journey for the senses that we will cherish forever. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates the finer things in life!

We did a private full-day Saint Emilion tour and after getting picked up in a comfortable van at our B&B we got to visit 3 wineries in addition to wandering around the town of Saint Emilion and having lunch in the town. Our guide Clement was knowledgable, professional and the whole day was timed perfectly, we never felt rushed. We know A LOT about wine and wanted to really dig deep about Saint Emilion/Bordeaux wines so we could better pick out ones we'd like in the US and get as much of an overview as possible in a day and we felt we were able to get just that. The team was able to accommodate us last minute (under a week) and personalize the experience for us. Our favorite was being able to visit a small husband and wife winery and sample the wines with the owner. These are amazing experiences and touches that are a perk of booking a private tour.

We had a great time with Julie on the full day tour. She told us a lot of extra information about the proces of winemaking in the area, but also: some very helpful tips for diner and drinks in Bordeaux. We saw 3 amazing chateaux, plus stopped for about an hour and a half in St Emilion, where we visited the church and tried some brut de Bordeaux. Everything was very well organised, lunch was excellent and the other people in the group (in total we were with 5) were very nice too. We enjoyed it so much, that we decided to book another half day tour with them on Sundy, when Yan was our guide to the Medoc-area. He grew up there, so he told us a lot too. And made an extra stop at the Chateau Megaux, to just marvel at it. All and all: highly recommended! Both Julia and Yan were professional guides, told a lot and made this an experience to remember.

Best tour with the best local guide ! I took part in a full day tour with Bordeaux Wine Trails and I had the best time ! This tour is called the “Great Escape” and you quickly understand why. It includes 3 châteaux in différents appellations of Bordeaux. It gives you the perfect glimpse of the variety of terroir, chateaux and wines the region has to offer ! Our guide, Clément, made this day even better by driving us around and sharing his knowledge that goes way beyond wine. His explanations were clear and accessible with the perfect touch of humour ! It wasn’t a private tour but 8 people was the perfect number and it definitely felt that we were one family at the end of the day. Thank you Clement and Bordeaux Wine Trails’ team for that amazing experience !

I went to learn more about the region as i have just moved to Bordeaux. We were a small group of 3 and Camille was our guide. She is a very friendly person, and she has a lot of knowledge. The history of Bordeaux, the wines, the different classifications and appellations, she explained it all quite well... The tour of the Medoc and its beautiful Châteaux was much more "approachable" than what i imagined. At the Châteaux, the professionals running the visits and tastings had interesting anecdotes. I have in mind the "egg" from Château Marquis de Terme. I 100% recommand this tour and hope i can do the Saint Emilion one soon too.

  • Clarissa Michelle Adams

I highly recommend Bordeaux Wine Trails. Guide/Driver- Our private driver and guide, Yan, was very professional and very knowledgeable. He easily navigated the narrow roads, and we felt very safe with him. He knew all about the region and winemaking. He cleverly kept us on schedule, but also made sure that we thoroughly enjoyed all the stops throughout the day long tour. Planning- I worked with Jon to plan the tour and he was incredibly responsive and attentive to my wants and needs for the tour. Everything was perfect! Quality of Vineyards selected- Perfect. Very authentic. No crowds. We received private tastings and tours.

  • Hannah Warner

I had the best time on the half a day tour with Bordeaux Wine trails! It was perfect that we were in a small group of 6 lovely people, which made it more personable. We visited two beautiful Chateaux, tasted their delicious wines as well as visiting the town of Saint Emilion itself. Jonathan, our guide, was great! On the tour I learned a great deal. Jonathan made it really interesting and we all had a lot of laughs! It wasn't tiring or rushed (as some tours tend to be). I would recommend Bordeaux Wine Trails tours to anyone! A fantastic way to learn more about wine, and to visit the stunning region. Thank you so much!

  • Emily Moyer

This was the highlight of our time in Bordeaux! Great conversation, beautiful places, and amazing wine, highly recommend. Jonathan was really friendly and very knowledgeable about wine and the region. We had two great tours at beautiful vineyards/chateaus and were able to do tastings at two locations (one vineyard, one separate tasting room). The wines were all superb with great explanations so people were really able to appreciate the wine and learn more. We also visited St Emilion which was beautiful and Jonathan's information made it even better! There were a few snacks, as well so it was really the whole package.

  • Tom Watson

We had the most amazing time with Bordeaux Wine Trails. Clément our guide was incredible, so knowledge, so accommodating and an absolute pleasure to be with for a whole day. The tastings have clearly been very well chosen, the lunch is incredible and an outstanding selection of wines. Compared to other tour groups BWT is much smaller and intimate and the best value for money out there. We enquired very last minute and they sorted us out with a tour of graves and Saint Emilion within 24hrs. I cannot recommend them and Clément enough. If you're looking for a wine tour then book with these folks!

  • Jennifer

If you are only visiting for a short time, then I’d recommend doing this tour. Saint Emilion is a stunning village and a must see! On this tour you get a quick glimpse of the village and some of it’s history. The winery we went to was nice as well, but since we only get to go to one winery, it would have been a nice experience to go to a more established Chatau. Our guide (Marie) was amazing. Very knowledgable about wine and the region. We did feel quite rushed during the trip, but respect that the guides have a time limit to stick to. Overall, really enjoyed it.

  • Sagar Daddikar

We had a very good half-day tour of St. Emilion from Bordeaux, including two wine tastings and a short visit in the village of St. Emilion. Camille was very friendly, polite, knowledgeable and managed the group well. She gave us comprehensive details of the wine growing regions and history and also on the wine estates that we visited. The group size was perfect, 8 of us and we were taken around in a air-conditioned van. Overall, I highly recommend this tour and will be looking to explore the other tours offered by the same company. Cheers.

  • Louis O'Halloran

Incredible experience. Clem was very knowledgeable and it never felt like he was reading from a script. The tours are in small groups - ours had 5 people - and so you have plenty of opportunities to ask questions. We did the Medoc tour in which you go to a more traditional chateau to learn about the wine making process followed by a tasting. You then go to a more modern chateau for further tasting. We sat outside the terrace on a sunny day and shared a bottle between 5. This is a must do if you're going to Bordeaux and very good value!

  • Joel Cassler

In case you are on the fence about doing a guided tour, I highly recommend taking that step forward. We loved having access to vineyards and wine makers directly, which simply would not occur on a self-guided trip. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, often going out of his way to ensure the experience suited my wife and I's particular interests or preferences. I'd recommend both French and international travelers to experience Bordeaux without the worry of planning and allow yourself to enjoy the best of the area.

  • Марина Мурлыкина

  • carly visser

We enjoyed every second of our tours with Bordeaux Wine Trails! From the start during booking to the end of our last tour, everyone was extremely helpful and responsive. We did 4 days or private tours. They offered suggestions of what to do and see during the booking process. They accommodated our gluten free needs as well. We enjoyed listening and talking to our hosts, Marie and Clement. Both were excellent hosts. An unforgettable experience! Do not hesitate to book with Bordeaux Wine Trails.

  • Marina Da Costa

  • Daniella Mark

Amazing trip with a great tour guide! We did a half day trip to a Grand Cru Winery and the St Emillion stop. Beautiful town. Great vehicle that we were transported in. The winery did a walkthrough tour from their grapes to the finished product with a tasting. The tour guide, Mel, was hilarious, very personable and made everyone on the tour comfortable. She coordinated well with us in the town and we had a little bit of time to explore. A perfect tour! Thank you!

  • Royston Crellin

We have just had the most fantastic day visiting three vineyards in the Bordeaux region. Our guide Clement was very knowledgeable and courteous in every way. Tres Bien Clem!! The quality of the picnic lunch was fantastic and the insight into the wine making process was most interesting. We did not want it to end. Oh! And we loved the wines we also had a great crowd of five other people with us that we met.

  • Nadia Abbassi

We had a fantastic time with Bordeaux Wine Trails tour and especially with our very friendly, kind and knowledgeable guide Yan. It felt like Yan went above and beyond, not only spoke to us about all the wineries but also about the history of the city as a whole. Yan even took the time to get to know us all individually and provide fun facts about wine in our country of origin. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone and would definitely go again.

  • Maggie

: This tour was absolutely amazing! Our group was small, only six people which was delightful. We enjoyed chatting with our group members. Jonathan is knowledgeable and made sure our experiences were extra special. We especially enjoyed his homegrown tomatoes which we ate with cheese, and toast spread with a wonderful tapenade. The house at each of the Winery’s were amazing and I learned so much about wine. They were kind, gracious and informative

  • Nicolas Piccoletti

Had a great full day group tour with Elise, she is a great guide and very knowledgeable about everything Boudreaux. Regions, restaurant and bar recommendations for after the tour, wine knowledge superb and made the tour fun and enjoyable - the 8 hours flew by. Would recommend if you want a chill and well organized day through the wine lands of Boudreaux. Group was 8 In our case. Vehicle is a large Mercedes’ Benz minivan very comfortable drives.

  • Monika Motkowicz

I did an afternoon trip to Saint Emilion with Marie. The tour was amazing and went far beyond my expectations! Marie is an excellent guide, very knowlegeable and easy going. I learnt a lot about the wine making and had a lot of fun! The choice of the wineries was very good, the domain visit and wine tastings were great, not to mention the aperitif :) I had an excellent time and experienced a different life. Merci, Marie & Bordeaux Wine Trails!

  • Loz Ellis

Best Tour in Bordeaux! Jono runs the show and we were so lucky to have him as our guide for the day! Saint Emilion is so quaint and stunning. We were taken to some amazing organic wineries and toured the vineyards. The tastings were generous from friendly and extremely knowledgeable locals. The lunch in the Château was so delicious and such a unique experience. You must do this tour if you want a special experience in Bordeaux!!

  • Karsten Stragies

We had a really nice experience visiting St Emilion and two estates. The group was quite small (8 people) which was perfect to ask questions. The second estate in particular (Clos des Abbesses) was lovely and we got to eat and drink with the wine producer himself. The tour was led by Elise who spoke excellent English and was really kind and forthcoming. Big bonus points for making the aperitif veggie-friendly! An easy 5/5.

  • Audrey Wang

Yan was our tour guide for the Saint-Emillion half day wine tour and the entire afternoon was fantastic. Yan was a great tour guide, full of fun anecdotes and great information, and he was talkative in a good way where it felt like there were no dull moments! I would say that the tour was well well worth the price, and the wineries we visited were excellent and the people who showed us around were so kind.

  • Ollie Donovan

With only a couple of days in Bordeaux (and wanting to see as much of the wine production area as possible) we booked onto an afternoon tour of Saint-Émilion and Médoc on consecutive days - and both afternoons were excellent! The guides were both knowledgable and very personable, and the structure of each afternoon was perfect, offering a brief but very comprehensive introduction to both of the key areas.

  • Zeina El Zein

I can't say enough about our experience with Bordeaux Wine Trails - from picking us up at lunch, to the beautiful vineyards and finally dropping us right off where we had booked for dinner, everything was planned perfectly. Huge shoutout to our guide Jonathan who was lovely and taught us about much more than just wine! We had such a great time and highly recommend to anyone visiting Bordeaux.

  • Michael Miller

Enjoyable tour. Very friendly guide. Beautiful area to tour. Nicely organized . . . except that a 5-hour tour with wine tasting should include a bit of food to balance out the wine (plate of cheese; some bread, etc.). I'm also not sure why the tour was called "holy wine" when we never visited a monastery vineyard. Price seemed just a bit steep, but was in line with similar tours.

  • Chi Ti

What a day!!! We did the Market tour and The Chartron gourmet tour as we're not big wines drinkers. Our local guide took us in hidden gems throughout the city of Bordeaux to sample some of the best local food here. My stomach is still asking for more! We did other tours like this before but this one was definitely the best value for money! Thank you guys for an awesome time!!!

  • Linda Hetlelid

We were a group of 12 ladies and we had 2 full fantastic days visiting the left and right bank of vineyards. Clement from Bordeaux Wine Trails guided us in an excellent way as he is knowledgeable, very friendly and service-minded. It was a couple of lovely days and we learned a lot about the Bordeaux region and its wine. Can highly recommend Clement @Bordeaux Wine Trails!

  • Emir Bingul

We had a fantastic time on our full day Graves & St Emillion tour today. Our guide/owner was a great host, he was super knowledgeable, very warm and entertaining. The tour was laid out very well and the hosts at the wineries were all welcoming. We learned a ton about the region’s grapes, wineries and wines. I highly recommend Bordeaux Wine Trails!

  • Nancy Sofia Ruiz

I really enjoyed my half day tour at Saint-Emilion with our tourist guide. Visiting this winery was a great experience and I bought a bottle of Bordeaux to bring with me. It was fun chatting up with other visitors and explore the ville of Saint-Emilion even when it rained very hard. I would love to visit again and relive my wonderful experience.

  • Africa López

Such an amazing experience! The private tour is highly recommended. Thanks to Yan our guide and driver for the day, we got to get to know and love Bordeaux for its history, culture and most importantly its terroir . We got to see a great range of chateaus, learn and taste a lot of great and unique wines. I would do it again in a heart beat!!

  • Delia Dumbravescu

Great experience!!! I would highly recommend it. We did the off-the-beaten-path Saint Emillion tour with two wine tastings and a super tasty picnic in the first winery. Jon the owner of the company was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable, fun and easygoing. If we're ever back here I would book something else qith them again!

  • Kristy Coombes

18 friends were visiting Bordeaux and we chose Bordeaux wine trails for a day amongst the wineries and we were not disappointed! Jonathan was a great guide, we got to visit 2 wineries, stopped for a 3 course lunch and then wandered around St Emilion old town. Plenty of water on the bus to balance out the wine. Highly recommended.

  • Sheena Julio

What an incredible experience! Booking this e-bike wine tour was the best decision I made while in Bordeaux. Being able to explore St. Émilion by bike was so dreamy. Bonus that I had a great group and an incredible host, Nathan. None of us wanted the day to end! In my opinion, this is the only way to do a wine tasting tour.

  • Helen Zhou

The tour was on time and very informative. We were not lucky with the weather, due to the rain we couldn’t bike but as a compensation we visited another château. The whole tour was very professional and fun. Highly recommended for people visiting Bordeaux and would like to experience vineyards visiting and wine tasting!

  • Shelley Walters

Fantastic afternoon trip with Bordeaux Wine Trails. Our guide was great fun with endless knowledge of the vineyards and French history. We visited two chateau’s for wine tasting and learnt the different processes each one used. Highly recommend this trip, a lovely way to spend an afternoon in the French countryside

  • Kyndal Feinman

This was such a great tour! Our guide, Clem, as well as the tour guide at the chateau, were both incredibly knowledgable but also engaging. I had a lot of fun, but left realizing I had also learned a lot about French wine. The small group size also made the experience more personable. I would highly recommend!

  • Marie-Morgane Discontigny
