There were many amazing things at Bottger - like attention to details, history books for each room, comfy beds, and many thoughtful touches. However, truly the high point was the gourmet breakfasts. I am not sure what Steve did in his former career, but he is an incredible chef! A French Toast Croissant that combined a hint of sweetness with just the right touch of orange filling paired perfectly with an almond topping. Homemade juices (hard to say which was better between Orange-Mango-Ginger and Blueberry-Prickly Pear), homemade sorbet on top of perfect fruit combinations, and their own turkey sausage. Even if you are not brave enough to taste a brand new gourmet creation, you will find that the cereal alternative is a perfect homemade granola! And that was just one morning! We couldn't wait until the next morning! The rooms are great: homemade cookies, cold water pitchers, books to keep if you want, remote controlled heater/cooler in each room, chairs and a small table in the room, beautifully decorated bathrooms, clean robe for each guest, and more. The house is nice with fresh coffee set out early (and you can make your own if you want some at another time), great teas from a local tea house, boiling water always available, as is ice and fresh water, a guest fridge for your use with some free sodas tossed in, umbrellas set out for guest use (which we did), and two rescue cats. The grounds are fun with lots of bird feeders for our viewing enjoyment. The location in Old Town is amazing. Parking is easy. And did I mention the Breakfasts?!?! I can't believe he is the chef at a small bed and breakfast and not at the most expensive restaurant in town! Flavors balanced, choices well thought out, recipes perfected. Truly amazing!

Absolutely pitch-perfect in every way. The home and rooms had character-- there were squeaks and creaks, but everything was in good condition and we never were disturbed by house sounds from other guests. Kathy and Steve were amazing hosts at check in and throughout the stay- very communicative via text, great instructions, no detail left to chance, and they were gracious in putting up with my inability to read my own email on day 1. The home is secured via modern smart lock with your own code. Once in the room there was a very informative book with good recommendations and detailed instructions. The rooms had tv's equipped with Roku, which was awesome. We were pleasantly surprised to find youtubetv already on the TVs which is our service of choice. Wifi was solid wherever we tested. Teas, water, ice, and coffees are available at all hours in the common area. Pots of very good coffee become available each morning at 7. I'm saving the best for last, the breakfasts. Kathy and Steve outdid themselves each day. Amazing fresh food and service, I'd go so far as to call the food "fancy". We have special dietary restrictions and Steve and Kathy were incredible in accomodating and understanding. I have never seen anything like it in the finest restaurants we've been to. Just perfect. The bike tour we booked via the Bottger website as a package deal was incredible in quality as well. I just recommend 2 things: check your spam on the day you book the hotel, your bike tour confirmation might be in there! And, wear sunscreen. Don't forget the backs of your hands. :) If ever we're back in ABQ we're staying here, no doubt at all. Thanks for making our stay special.

Our stay at Bottger Mansion was absolutely delightful! We stayed in the Tingley Room, on the second floor. It’s quiet and cozy, nestled behind the stairwell. The bed was supportive and the sheets were so buttery soft that we took a photo of the tag and ordered ourselves a set for our home! We slept like babies for the duration of our stay. There are so many thoughtful touches in this B&B, including last minute supplies for travelers such as spare toothbrushes if needed. There’s a communal fridge/microwave and coffee/tea station in the dining area for guests to use, including basic utensils and dishware. Socks and Gray Cat, the resident felines, make things feel like home. I loved the book swap in the parlor, and the garden out front is absolute serenity day or night with bird feeders, fountains, and benches for a romantic place to sit and talk, or quiet nook to read in. Now, onto the “breakfast” of this Bed and Breakfast- Kathy and Steve are incredible chefs! Each morning we were greeted with freshly pressed juice and phenomenal, delicious hot meals to start our day. It’s very apparent that they take pride in the cuisine that they serve to their guests. Every day features a different menu that is able to accommodate meat eaters and vegetarians alike. If they opened a restaurant, we’d be regulars there. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to come back to visit soon!

A jewel in the crown of Old Town, Albuquerque, my family and I spent three nights at the Bottger Mansion in May and I can’t recommend it highly enough. The ensuite rooms and communal areas are beautiful and spotlessly clean. Fresh home baked cookies await on your night stand when you arrive. I especially loved that the beds were dressed with sheets and blankets as in the UK there are always duvets which cause overheating. There is a pot of fresh coffee available from early in the morning with pre-warmed cups for guests to help themselves. Breakfast was just as you would possibly find in a top restaurant! The garden is wonderfully laid out with shady nooks to relax and listen to the bird song. There are tables and chairs outside to dine al fresco. Cathy and Steve the proprietors are friendly, accommodating and great at communicating with guests. If I am back in Old Town I will definitely stay here again.

Bottger is a place for those who appreciate a bed and breakfast stay. It is located within walking distance of most activities around Old Town. Our room was comfortable with antique furniture and conveniences of air conditioning, television, and a well equipped bathroom. Our room and all common areas were clean with everything in its place. Kathy is a welcoming host with suggestions for eateries and sites to visit. She kept us well informed and comfortable with our outings. Husband Steve, is the chef and provides tasty breakfasts of casseroles, muffins, fresh fruit medley, juices, and fresh coffee or tea. Steve and Kathy make a great team for a great stay.

Bottger Mansion will forever be special to us. My husband and I stayed in the cool Route 66 suite, and the breakfasts each morning were lovingly made and delicious. We came to Albuquerque to elope, and Steve and Kathy made our wedding so lovely! We hadn't completely planned it out, but they were resourceful and oh, so sweet, and pulled it all together in record time. We hadn't written vows, but Kathy's were beautiful and spot-on and made us tear up and hold each other even closer. The property, itself, is lovely and has a cool history, besides being perfectly situated in Old Town Albuquerque, near the plaza, shops, and restaurants.

Everything was wonderful! I loved all the communication via email, text and a binder of info on the bed when I arrived. I didn't get a chance to fully appreciate the hospitality, house, and grounds because I was there for the Balloon Fiesta and overbooked myself, but everything was crisp, clean, and cozy. I did bump into the owners a couple short times on my way in and out and they were easy to talk to and sweet, they even made little scones for me and some of the other guests that didn't have time for breakfast since the Balloon Fiesta requires an extra early morning. I would stay again in the future, in-fact already thinking about another visit in a couple years for another Balloon Fiesta, but this time with more padding to explore some of the arts, entertainment, and food I didn't have time for. I'll add that I really felt safe, between the gate and the keypad at the door I felt really good. The only thing I'll warn about is the creaking floors, it's an old house so it has some creaky floors. I never heard anyone else (even though it was fully booked) so I'm not sure about sound proofing.

Lovely! It’s a historic home with high ceilings and warm, creaky floors, modern bathrooms and pretty spots to sit in the parlor or the garden. The room was very comfortable. We were in the upstairs front room and noise was not a problem at all. The breakfast was fantastic! I only have a photo when I was about done, so use your imagination. Everything is home made and delightful, brought out to you in courses. You have your own table , but way to chat with other guests if you’d like. The breakfast room is open all the time with access to hot drinks, ice, water, and a small guest fridge. We ate takeout there one night and it was perfect!!!!! Location is perfect. It’s easy walking to old town, restaurants, museums, shopping, and historical sites, located just a block or two away. The hosts are friendly enough. If you have a question, they would probably be able and available to ask. Parking (free) is right across the street. Security is excellent and easy. We look forward to staying again!!!!!!

What a great place to stay. Steve and Kathy were amazing. Freshly baked cookies in our room upon arrival. Breakfast was exquisite, from Steve's preparation to Kathy's serving. Our first real stay at a Bed and Breakfast and it certainly did not disappoint. The room and entire home was clean. Many of the rooms were booked and the noise was little to none and never ran into anyone except at breakfast. Location is perfect, just a couple blocks away from Old Town Square, and Duran's Pharmacy - a must stop location for lunch. Communications was very clear and informative. Thank you for the hospitality ... a must stay while in Santa Fe!

We were traveling through Albuquerque and picked Bottger Mansion for our overnight stay, based upon the reviews we read. We were not disappointed. Everything we read was true. The property is beautiful, our room was gorgeous, we stayed in the Route 66 room. It has a cute little sitting room that I really enjoyed. The room was really clean, bedding was wonderful. Breakfast was amazing with fresh pineapple and coconut sorbet, followed by blueberry French toast with lemon sauce and turkey sausage. The owners are very friendly and I love their two cats on the property. All of the other guests were really friendly and we enjoyed chatting with them. Would definitely want to stay here again. Would be so much fun to stay there with a group of friends.

I had a wonderful stay at the Bottger Mansion in Old Town Albquerque. My husband and I stayed two nights in the William Hazeldine room as part of a cross-country trip along historic route 66. The furniture was comfortable and the decor very quaint. Our room was train-themed, and we enjoyed the history and the model trains. The beds, pillows, and chairs were so soft, we didn't want to leave! We enjoyed the personal touches of robes and cookies in the room and the multiple vanities were great for our morning routine. The patio area is enchanting, so that's where we ate breakfast in the morning. The morning meals are local-inspired and delicious. We enjoyed blue-corn scones, green chilli omelettes, orange-zest French toast, and chilli turkey sausage patties during our stay. The parking was easy and safe. The shops and sites of Old Town were only a short walk away, so we enjoyed being so close to so much culture and excitement. I strongly recommend this bed and breakfast. We hope to go back soon!

Amazing first Bed & Breakfast experience! I was worried about noise and privacy, but both were way better than any hotel I've ever stayed in. 3 of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Very clean and quaint. The owners are a sweet, 2 peas in a pod couple and I loved the dry humor! They text you and tell you everything you need to know. As a solo female traveler, Steve gave me some good advice to make sure I stayed safe where I was going. Kathy took the time to give me such good info that I'm already planning my return! It was nice to return "home" at night to a sleepy house and be greeted by one of the cats. There's access to cold drinking water, ice and a bucket, hot water, Coca-Cola, glasses, utensils and even some personal hygiene products. However, to be able to enjoy this piece of history, walk out the front gate and explore Old Town is priceless

We booked a room here just a day or so from when we arrived based on an on-line description. Our stay exceeded my expectations on every level. The communication with our host was timely, detailed and very helpful. The location of the property was walking distance to Old Town shops, museums and restaurants. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable, well appointed with a clawfoot bathtub which I used. Breakfast was delicious. Hosts and host kitties were nice. The property had been well restored and well taken care of but still had the charm and interest of a home with a story. I also thought the price was very reasonable. I look forward to returning. Thanks for hosting us.

Great location! Charming rooms! Amazing breakfast! We walked to the shops in Old Town Albuquerque; we could have walked to three different museums, but we needed our car for other excursions afterward. We had the smallest room, with two twin beds, perfect for my daughter and I. The high ceilings, the new "antique" tile. the blue glass toadstool door stop and the footed tub all added to the cozy feeling in our room. AND the breakfast, mmmmm, the blue corn scones and fresh fruit with homemade sorbet were my favorites, while my daughter was blown away by the fruit juice blends (blueberry-prickly pear, for instance). The hosts made check in and check out so easy with timely, friendly texts. What a delightful stay we had!

An experience beyond expectation. Though being a historic and aged establishment, the infrastructure, the service, and the provided breakfast are indeed satisfactory and worth the price. I had never stayed in a bed and breakfast, but decided to give this one a try based on its location. The location was perfect with convenient parking across the street. We selected the Bottger Mansion for its proximity to Old Town, and were delighted by its old-world charm, the resident cats, and the light and delightful breakfast the following morning. The grounds are well-designed and attended. I really appreciated the attention to detail throughout. We recently enjoyed a lovely evening in room 21 at the Bottger Mansion. It was conveniently located to the airport as well as had some restaurants within walking distance. The grounds were just beautiful and it was so nice to sit out on the lawn at the table provided to enjoy their freshly brewed coffee in the morning. They have our favorite pottery shop's coffee mugs and we were able to purchase one with the Bottger Mansion logo on it. We were served a delicious breakfast outside in their courtyard. We would definitely consider staying there again in the future.

Bottger Mansion is a beautiful old building. We stayed in the Bernard Shandon Rodey Room. On our first morning, we had a lovely view of the dawn sky behind the Sandia Mountains. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable, with an AC/Heat unit that worked very well. Breakfast was delicious, and our hosts even made us a bag breakfast when we had to leave very early for our flight. If we visit Albuquerque again, we will surely stay here again.

Bottger Mansion has a fascinating history as one of the oldest buildings in Albuquerque’s Old Town. Some of the architectural features like the pressed tin ceilings are surprising to find in a B&B. One will enjoy a gourmet breakfast after a good night’s sleep in an immaculate room. The front garden is a lovely place to relax in good weather. We recently stayed in the Franz Huning room and it was great! Steve and Kathy were wonderful hosts and made some truly delicious creations for breakfast. Socks and Greycat were delightful and I made a habit of giving them daily scratches on our way in and out of the B&B. Everything was convenient and efficient, from contactless check in to text notification reminders and information. Wonderful experience, only downside is that you are in a historical building so the floors are extra creaky but that is expected with any old building.

This Mansion built in the early 1900 is located in the heart of Old Town Albuquerque with shops and restaurants within a short walking distance. The B&B was definitely a wonderful experience. We stayed in the Route 66 room and very much enjoyed the separate sitting room looking out toward the front of the house. We recommend it to anyone looking for a very cozy, clean and comfortable room, yummy breakfast and enchanting atmosphere. Thank you Kathy and Steve for your hospitality. We truly enjoyed our stay and plan on returning soon.

Steve and Kathy are friendly but professional. The house spacious and charming, and well-located in Old Town. Breakfast is delicious--and fairly healthy too with fruit and a few veggies. Roku in the room was easy to use and the bed very comfortable. The hosts were kind to let me check in early after my flight was cancelled and I needed to leave the place I was staying. Although not far from a busy street (Central) the house is quiet--must be those adobe walls! Good for people who enjoy a quiet, peaceful place to stay.

10/10 great experience!!! As 28 year olds we were skeptical about staying at a B&B, but Bottger exceeded our expectations. Our room was homey and romantic, and the hospitality was phenomenal. The owners took great care of us and cooked the best breakfast. It was the best way to start our day. My husband and I had a wonderful 3-night stay in late March, 2022. The room was very comfortable and the heating/cooling system easy to operate. The Bottger Mansion is in a fantastic location on the edge of Old Town, Albuquerque. There were many interesting restaurants and shops all within easy walking distance - it was so nice not to have to hunt for parking spaces! Steve and Kathy are warm and hospitable innkeepers, and their breakfasts are not to be missed!

Staying here was perfect for our family. We were at the edge of Old Town and could walk to places easily. The breakfasts were delicious. Steve and Kathy were wonderful hosts and provided us with ideas of experiences we would have missed learning about on our own. The rooms were very comfortable and the teens liked having a room with the twin beds

We stayed for New Year's Eve. Nothing could have been easier or better located for a wonderful taste of Albuquerque! The Mansion was spotless, well appointed and so comfortable! It's location on the edge of Old Town was superb for walking , shopping and having a wonderful dinner at Seasons. Breakfast was simple and great tasting. Absolutely the best choice we could have made. We will not hesitate to recommend Bottger to everyone we know. Thank you!

My sister and I stayed here during a road-trip through the Southwest. Steve and Kathy were absolutely wonderful hosts. A true B&B, the breakfast we had (that they cooked!!) was delicious. Our room was meticulously appointed. We were only in town for a night and it was just what we needed as a pit stop.

Bottger Mansion is a cute little place, and could not be better located for seeing the sights in Old Town. The rooms have a lot of character, and are well-maintained. The breakfasts are excellent! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, and will happily stay at in Bottger Mansion again the next time I visit in Albuquerque.

Great Inn in Old Town. Breakfast was great. Room clean and neat. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here! We only stayed one night on way to Santa Fe, so didn't take in much of Alberqueque. The Old Town itself seems a bit depressed. I think the pandemic hit it hard.

Wow! This place is great and they truly want to make your stay amazing. The couple is very personable and will help you with whatever you need. The rooms are comfortable and cozy and the mansion is in a great location. We were able to walk everywhere quickly and easily. The breakfast was outstading, they even make their own juice- yum! I enjoyed my time and I highly recommend it.

After looking through various options in Albuquerque, from the hidden fee Airbnb's to the mixed review offerings on booking, we found the charming Bottger Mansion through a web search. What a great value! Right next to old town, a seamless check in process, quiet rooms, personable and friendly owners and a delicious breakfast. Highly recommended and would stay here again!

We've stayed at many bed and breakfasts, and the Bottger Mansion is our new favorite. We stayed in the Franz Hunning room which we highly recommend. A pitcher of fresh ice water and cookies awaited us in our room when we arrived. The front grounds are a beautiful place to relax. The breakfast was superior. The mansion had a very homey feel to it.

  • Martha Iacolucci

The room we had (the Route 66 suite) was great, and Steve and Kathy were fantastic. The breakfasts were delicious and the two of them had great suggestions on activities and dining in the area. The location was very convenient to Old Town.

The Bottger Mansion never fails! It is charming, as are the hosts, Kathy and Steve. We have stayed thee 3 times, and each room is clean and comfortable. The location is great for exploring old town. In Albuquerque Old Town, this former home was built around 1912. It is a beautiful and cozy place and the husband and wife team are very hospitable. The breakfast is absolutely excellent and home made. Coffee with cream is also very good.
