Brought two bikes in for service mid-April. Brant Cycle had the bikes in their possession for a week and a half. First time my father used his bike he discovers that neither of the gear shifters are functional. Only found the time to bring the bike back today. Took them all of 5 minutes to address the issue. Not once during this time did I receive an expression of remorse or regret from the associate who assisted me. Nonetheless, I conveyed my appreciation for their expedient assistance. Unfortunately, when I raised my concern with the fact that this very simple issue should have been addressed during the service, I was met with snark and condescension. I was repeatedly asked whether I “understood” a process as basic as using an aerosol spray to clean debris… You might as well ask me if I have the cognitive capacity to turn on a light switch. Basically, the tale they would have me believe is that they confirmed the bike was in perfect working order prior to returning it to me. Then, in the week between picking the bike up from their premises and my father using it for the first time, both gear actuators managed to accumulate so much dust and dirt (the bike is stored indoors at all times) as to render them nonfunctional. You clearly do not think much of your customers if you expect us to believe such absurdity. Long story short, all this could have been solved with a simple expression of regret. Yet this gentleman’s ego - or perhaps, a “deny responsibility” corporate culture at Brant Cycle - exacerbated an otherwise salvageable situation. I received no apology, no expression of remorse for wasting my time to deal with an issue that persisted purely as a result of their inattention. When I remarked that, “this is not the quality of the service I expect when paying $270.00,” the associate asserted that he had nothing to say. Well Congratulations Brant Cycle, this gentleman’s apathy has cost you not only my business, but that of my family, friends and colleagues on Bay Street. And you can rest assured that I will convey this experience to everyone else I meet during the course of my personal and professional activities. Incredible. I have met some arrogant people, but your associate (and by extension the sentiments you are permitting him to convey about your business) stand apart. I strongly suspect a combination of my youth and the well-loved condition of the bike misled the gentleman into believing my continued loyalty was of little value. So be it. It will be a pleasure to take all my future business to your competitors. For anyone considering this establishment, do yourself a big favour and go elsewhere. There are plenty of bike shops. Unless you wish to have your time wasted, to be ignored and mistreated, I would not recommend Brant Cycle. And by the way, their failure to perform a step as rudimentary as testing the bike after “repairing” it begs the question of what other corners they are in the habit of cutting.

New to Burlington, I purchased my second bike in the past 30 days from Brant Cycle. After testing competitive options in Oakville and Toronto, I decided to buy local and selected a new GIANT TCR Advanced road bike. Upon selecting a few accessories to be installed, I was instructed to come back a couple days later for my seat fitting and delivery. Not cheap (and honestly the most expensive bike I've ever purchased), I was told to arrive by 7pm that night for my fitting. I arrived at 6:50pm after spending nearly 2 hours in QEW traffic (and a detour to go home and get my old bike that they requested I bring to the fitting). After unfolding my old road bike out of my wife's car and wheeling it in for my appointment, I was told by a fellow behind the counter that 'there's no way you can be fit tonight... we close at 7pm.' Sure, I could have checked their website hours to confirm hours of operation but when told to arrive before 7, I did... only to get attitude from someone unwilling to spend a bit of extra time to fit the bike and deliver a decent purchase experience. Growing a business on referrals means delivering an outstanding experience and getting referrals don't happen by delivering an experience like this one. So, to their credit and recognizing the gap in service, they welcomed me back in for a fitting that was so very well done. I arrived early and the team offered to stay as late as needed to ensure I was satisfied. The experience Bill and his service team offered, was honestly awesome. Nice job Brant Cycle for turning a rough start into a very positive outcome.

Will not return here for service. We asked for a quote on a basic bike tune up with pickup, and were told it could be anywhere between $100 and $200. We then indicated we would go elsewhere and were immediately told that it was actually a simple job and would only cost $100. When we raised concerns over this seeming dishonesty, the individual said reason being they were not a technician and couldn't provide estimates. After making this statement the individual went on to describe repairs of a bike and knowledgeably referenced parts. When we had initially called for pickup we were told an estimate would be provided. The bike was returned in almost the same condition with little improvements. We called in about the poor service and were told that it couldn't be true so the matter would be left there. No adjustments or improvements were offered. Upon voicing concerns over the cost and state of the bike they said old bikes cost more. However, the requested repairs were not completed and when we brought the bike to a different Burlington store it cost $64 to have these repairs completed. The brant cycle salesperson repeatedly referenced the bike being older, calling the age of the bike "appalling" but the bike was actually comprised of all new parts, except for the frame as it was built by hand recently. The bike runs perfectly following basic tune up at the different store.

I bought a bike here and have not picked it up. That part was a Good Experience. However, I brought two bikes in for service. The drop off and discussion for the service went well. Clear, and efficient. On pickup part of the work wasn't done. A major oversight on one bike was that only cable was replace, not the rest, and the wrong color housing was used. They did not do what I asked for. The person serving me wasn't rude, but certainly wasn't friendly. She went immediately over the cash and asked me to cash out right away before I even saw the second bike. They did not review the changes at all with me. The service was about 25% the cost of the original bike, so it was important. They did not offer me a discount, or offer to do the work I actually asked for. I ended up bringing the bike to shop much closer to my house, and would have had to wait until the end of May for a service. I ended up buying cables and replacing them myself. I know this is a small business delivering a small service, but it's still important to deliver your services as expected (as asked for).

I bought a bike recently from the shop. They seem like nice enough guys. But the customer service experience was a bit lacking. First of all it was not a cheap bike. I am a new customer to them and the only reason I bought here was because my local shop did not have my size. They seemed more interested in the sale transaction than the customer experience. They did give me a discount on the pedals which was nice but The transaction felt rushed. when I asked if they would fit the bike they were non comital not even offering it for a fee. I have bought 4 bikes before and each time the shop I purchased it from offered to fit it at no charge (2 different shops so it’s not a one time thing) I am not even sure they tuned the bike before I picked it up. I had to tweak the saddle, seat post shifters and stem. The pressure on the tires was 30 psi sure they are tubeless but the recommended pressure is 35 psi. I do have to say I am happy with the bike it is what I wanted. Would I shop here again? Will make up my mind after the 90 day warranty check.

Had trouble finding a tube for a wheelchair tire. Health care centres charge "health care item" prices so we tried a bike shop. The staff helped order another and fixed the tire. My wife brought in wheelchair tires several times over the years and always the repair was done with consideration to the need of it - quickly. My wife also wanted a specific kind of bike to meet her needs as a rider and the store did not have one that suited her. None of the sales associates tried to "up sell" her a bike that wasn't right for her. Brant Cycle tunes up our family's bikes, helps us out when we have issues and just the other day my wife was having trouble remembering how to correctly instal the bike rack onto our car. She took it in and Chris demonstrated how to instal it in the parking lot. We have never had anything less than great service from any member of the sales staff. They are always helpful. Thank you all for the good service.

I saw a bike (Norco Yorkville) on their website that showed as being in stock. I subsequently called the store and spoke to a clerk who verified they had the bike. He then advised that I should place the order online and that I would be notified when it would be available for pick up. The next day, I was called by another store clerk who told me that the online inventory was misrepresented and that they didn't have the bike in-stock. He then proceeded to offer me another bike that was $125 more without any recompense or price adjustments. It's one thing to have your online stock misrepresented. It's another to call in, verify it's in store and then be informed it's not in stock. I received a full refund and will be looking at other local bike shops. Giving two stars instead of one to allow for some variance due to the pandemic and the demand its placed on local retailers.

I cannot speak for the service dept but Graham and Chris in sales were exceptional. They both and especially Chris took the time to understand what i would require as i am a novice rider. They were very patient and asked relevant questions and really spent the time getting an understanding of what i would need and then proceeded to let me test out a couple bikes and narrow down what i needed from there. I even mentioned i had health concerns to Chris and he was genuinly concerned which was very surprising considering i was some random of the street, that tells you what kind of person he is. Unfortunately i didn't buy a bike from Chris due to my time restrictions as they would have had to special order (my fault totally) but i would not hesitate to buy my next bike from Chris or recommend him to anyone else. Prob the best service i have ever received.

The shop seemed nice enough when I dropped my bike off for service. When I came back to pick it up, I was ignored. When I finally found someone to fetch my bike, it was obvious that after a 90 dollar repair, they hadn't even bothered to give it a 2 minute once over with a rag to make it look a little cleaner. When I brought the bike to Bill and asked why it looked that way, he did get the rag out and clean it a little, but he seemed noticably irritated. He gave me orders "wait here," "bring it over here." The moment he was done he walked away without casting a glance in my direction, it was a very abrupt and unconventional end to our interaction. As customer service, politeness, and respect are important to me, I won't be giving them any more business, and I suggest you look elsewhere.

Went in today to view a Giant electric bike and was looking at a specific model we saw on clearance for $2000 at a different shop. When we mentioned that we saw the bike for $2000 (listed here at Brant for $2899) the manager got very aggressive. He was swinging his arms and practically shouting that that was an impossible price and he couldn't possibly come anywhere close to that price. He then proceeded to insult the other shop for poor business practices saying their price was ridiculously low. He was rude and drove us out of the store. We wanted to see other bikes but he didn't show us anything else. Felt sorry for the other sales staff as he seemed embarrassed with the Managers rudeness. Will never buy anything from that rude man and will tell all my biking friends.

Friendly & helpful staff. We’ve bought bikes before from Brant Cycle but this time our experience was slightly different due to Covid-19. We had to purchase a bike for our son online without actually seeing it or having him take it for a test ride to confirm it was the one he wanted. The online experience was easy however Tim called us to let us know that the colour choice my son had picked was out of stock. He had searched his stock but could not find one. He gave us another great choice of bike at the same price & that was the one my son ended up purchasing. Curb side pick up was quick, easy & safe for all. I picked up my new bike from Brant Cycle over the weekend and I was very happy with the service and communication throughout the process. The staff who helped me with the pickup were professional and very accommodating. Due to the pandemic, supplies for anything bike related takes a while. I ordered my bike last year in November 2020, and I was told it could arrive as early as February 2021 or as late as July 2021. The bike ended up arriving at the start of July. A big shoutout and huge thank you to Tim for keeping me posted on the updates and answering my numerous questions during the last several months. He kept my expectations in line by communicating very clearly what the situation was with shipping.

Even during these difficult times, it was a pleasure to deal w the staff at Brant Cycle. I called to get some information as I was purchasing a bicycle for my daughter and I didn’t know where to begin without the 9 year old going into the store. The gentleman on the phone was very helpful and told me exactly where to start looking. Furthermore he reassured me that I’m not ‘stuck’ with a bike that won’t work for her. If she is unhappy with the bike, even if just because of the colour, bring it back and we will Make it right! That made this expensive purchase much easier to make! I needed my flat tire fixed and had trouble finding services that would be efficient until I called Brant Cycle. I brought my bike over and was met with care from the moment I arrived. I appreciated how they opened the front door for me and helped me maneuver my bike inside the shop, to give it a quick inspection and took it in immediately for its repair. The job itself was done in about 15-20 minutes and my bike has never felt better, not to mention the affordable costs — I now enjoy going on daily rides thanks to my brand new tire! You folks are fast! I placed an order for a new wheelset three days ago and just finished picking them up today! I'm delighted with my new wheels, and the service was excellent, albeit a bit rushed, though I understand; it's bike season, and you must all be swamped. Anyway, I like the store. It has a great selection of goodies, and I especially like that you have tools for sale and a nice assortment of tires. As for the website, it was easy to navigate and features a good selection of bikes, parts, and accessories. Moreover, placing an order was a breeze, and I appreciate that you use Paypal. I am shocked at the treatment I received at this store, especially by Tim. I had to come back over 7 times in 3 weeks to have my bike repaired and was refused service. This led to my breaks giving out and almost causing me an injury. I had to get the bike repaired at a different store where they took me in and fixed the issue right away. Tim on the other hand started getting annoyed with me, insulted me, walked away from me and is now refusing to communicate with me. Never again will I set foot in this store. No one should be treated this way. They will probably come back with a clever reply but trust me, stay away.

My daughter owns a unique bike - shaft driven. We required a replacement rear tire and tube and approached a company in Oakville who had replaced the tube previously - we found out they had just patched it!!!! We contacted Brant Cycle and they accepted the bike and devoted a considerable time and effort to working out how to remove the wheel and effect the repair. We were extremely pleased to get a call to pick up the bike - new tire and tube in place and at a fair cost. Great service and perseverance on the part of the staff - we are very impressed with this company and thoroughly recommend them and their work.

Had the worst experience ever I would not recommend this place to anyone Purchased the tire plus the inner tube plus the equipment and they still were not able to install the inner tube plus the tire which could take them literally 5 minutes. So of course I had no choice to begin installing myself. I had the feeling that it wasn't a good idea. In the end, punctured the inner tube by not having enough experience. So I had to go to a different bike shop, purchased the inner tube again and the bike shop was able to do it right in the spot. Saved me time and money.

Staff was friendly and efficient. They answered all my questions when I called to find out how to do a curbside pick up. At Pick up, I realized I had ordered the wrong color helmet. Staff had no problem checking to see if the color my son wanted was in stock. Sure enough it was. They did the paperwork and I was on my way. I also appreciated that they have a reminder barrier up to ensure everyone is social distancing. They used hygienic practices, such as wiping down high touch areas on bikes before bringing them into the store. Thank you.

Warning. I recently bought a pedal system from Brant Cycle. I experienced a design flaw in the product that led to a broken part. Brant Cycle refused to provide a refund. They were not prepared to stand behind their product. End result is they saved themselves about $175 (retail) but have sacrificed potentially hundreds or thousands in future sales. Very poor business operating model in my opinion. Also a lack of integrity in my opinion. As a cyclist that rides with three clubs in the area, I would not recommend this store to anyone.

Very good repair services offered by the Team at Brant Cycle. I'm at a loss to read some of the negative reviews as my family has only received stellar service from the friendly and knowledgeable staff. Turnaround time on repairs is very quick and they do their best to provide the best for all customers. Fine selection of bikes, e-bikes, carriers, parts, accessories and gear. They provide something to suit any budget. A Burlington landmark for many years is a true testament of their fine reputation. Convenient parking available.

I have always had good service with Brant Cycle. They are not my main bicycle shop, but they are strong second. Where Brant cycle shines is in the bikes they sell. They carry Giant, which are excellent road bikes for beginners; you get more bang for your buck on a low end giant than with any other brand of bike. The folks at Brant get this and are good at selling to people who are just starting on road cycling. I often refer people who are thinking of getting into Road Cycling to go to Brant cycle; they will help you.

Tim saved the day yesterday. I got a flat on the way to the shop and even though I arrived slightly outside their business hours they were kind enough to let me in and fix it on the spot. So nice! And then I went on to the longest ride of my life - Burlington to Oakville, then hopped on the GO train for 2 stops, then rode from Port Credit to downtown. And then I had cheesecake for lunch (after buying a book on bike repair). It was a great day because of the quick and easy tire fix in the morning.Thanks again.

Friendly and helpful staff. Good pricing and service. I have read a lot of reviews for this shop and the ones that give low ratings are far from the truth. They sound like cry babies that have nothing better to do than give low ratings for the smallest things which they more than likely exaggerate about. I have been going to this shop for 5 years and have purchased 2 bikes. I have also recommended them to several friends that have purchased bikes and they have had nothing but good things to say.

Rep. spent over an hour with me to find the right bike and fit it properly before I purchased. Rep. was very knowledgeable, asked me why I was riding and why I was interested in the bike I had picked while going through different types available to suit my needs. Gave lots of general riding tips and advise as this is my first road bike; he seemed to be speaking from experience. When I had a minor crash three weeks later they fixed the bike up while I waited for no charge.

We have been using Brant Street Cycles for about a year now to repair our equipment. A customer had gone to pick up one of our devices & an employee turned the customer away by accident. The store admitted to their error but refused to rectify it in any way. Very poor way to run a business & shows a lack of integrity. Willing to ruin a long lasting business relationship because they won’t rectify an error that they admit they made.

I was shopping online for a new bike saddle and found that Brant Cycle sells the exact saddle that I wanted and for less than the big online retailer. Tim was fantastic and actually recommended a different saddle when I described my bike and explained why my first choice wasn’t necessarily the best one for me! Brant Cycle staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. They are helpful but do not push products on customers. The service department is first rate, very competent and explain everything. The service works quickly and they have a slick system to email customers when the bike is ready for pick up. I have occasionally used some competitors for service ( ie : Cyclepath and Gears) and I can attest Brant Cycle is superior.

Fantastic Experience. With the pandemic and bike shortages across North America, Tim kept me in the loop and made sure I knew the BMX’s had arrived. I was able to put deposit down on a bike and they held it for me for a few weeks until I was ready to pick it up. If you’re looking for a quality bike, Brant Cycle has friendly experienced staff that will take care of you. I wouldn’t buy a bike from anywhere else.

Will come back here to do another online curbside pickup at Brant Cycle. They accept returns and exchanges if clothing doesn't fit. Other bikeshops should do the same...who wants to be stuck with their online purchases if it doesn't fit. Thanks Brant Cycle for being very accomodating! Great customer service! Order 2 bicycle online initially. Service was fast. We got our pick up email within 3 days and was able to enjoy our bicycles over the weekend. Hubby got jealous and decided to replace his 20+ old bicycle for a new Norco. He was one happy customer again. Will definitely go to them for bicycle service and accessory purchase. The staff are friendly, accommodating and helpful both on the phone and in person.

Numerous brands recommended online were hard to find in a Canada but almost all of them were available at Brants. The gentleman was very helpful, I ended up buying the cycling shoes that was the best fit for me. I am extremely happy with the purchase, with the service and the store. Bought my bike from Brant Cycle a few years back and get it serviced here every year. Service was great before Covid, but other than service being delayed a few weeks during Covid, the service is equally great. My bike came back within the time promised, they provided the tune up and parts within a few dollars of what I expected and there were no surprises. I highly recommend Brant Cycle.

Sent my bike in for a service. My son picked it two weeks later. When I wanted to use it a few days later realized both my tires were completely flat. Made we wonder how this was serviced and how the brakes even tested with 2 flat tires. When I called in to advise them - I was nonchalantly told to bring the bike back in and they will have a look. I received three or four phone calls to make sure that I got the right product (since it had to be ordered from the warehouse) right away because I ordered online, even though I couldn't get to the store right away. That is great customer service! Plus I bought my first bike (Mongoose hybrid mountain bike/touring bike) from Brant Cycle in 1987 and it lasted until 2004!

I brought my road bike in to fix a strange knock when pedaling.Mechanics couldn't find any issues and just tightened everything. I brought it in again together with my smart trainer and they spent an hour trying to identify the cause, in the end it was the trainer. I've visited Brant Cycle many a time and reluctantly placed many purchases here. Their customer service is terrible. I've called in numerous times and was greeted with unwelcoming conversation from an older gentleman. If you have something non standard, don't even think of going here for assistance. These guys have a serious chip on their shoulder. Shop elsewhere!

This is the 4th time (or so) that we've had a bike serviced. Typically I will get my son a second-hand bike then have it fixed up here. They always do a great job, are timely and efficient, and I feel like I can trust their advice on what needs to be replaced and repaired. It is always reasonable and logical. Very helpful staff. I was unable to ride in seven years. They took the time to work together to figure out what my needs were. Ensured I had a bell and lights so I wasn't cycling illegally. Very patient and recommend items that were budget conscious. They put the gear on for free and noticed my kickstand was stiff and applied some lube again free of charge.

While franchise stores are empty of anything cycling, you can find most essentials at Brant Cycle. I needed a Thule car bike rack which was really hard to find. I found it on Brant Cycle website, ordered it over the phone immediately. They set it aside for me and I picked it up the same day. Very convenient. The prices are also competitive. Buy local!

The people at Brant cycle were great! Had the bad luck to have two issues within a few weeks of each other. The first one was a little more involved but they dealt with it as quickly as they possibly could and got back to me a little sooner than anticipated which was awesome. They inspect bikes at drop off and quote the price they expect, and call you before doing anything that is beyond the quote. This local business is awesome to deal with. Very helpful staff and always going the extra mile to answer questions. I visited today at 9 am and they were still closed (opens at 10 am). It's a very nice shop to fix your bike at reasonable price. The front tire of my bike had a wobble and my front brake was also broken, I went to many other stores to fix it and lowest price I got was 65$ while brant cycle fixed that issue for just 35$. You can also buy brand bikes from them, they have many brands but GIANT is the prominent one.

Brought bike in for tune up with a flat tire. Replaced tire and bike runs fine. My complaint is that when I pay for a maintenance I expect a thorough job. Couldn’t even re wrap handle bars? (Pic attached). If you miss that level of detail what else are they missing?
